Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. Most burger restaurants in the United States often serve hamburgers with French fries and other condiments. If you have a liking for burgers in the United States, then you won't be disappointed. The restaurant just opened, and it showed. The staff was a bit unprepared for my questions and substitutions, but they way they handled them was stellar. Kathleen, who I think is a shift leader, was great behind the counter and smiled throughout. While I was a bit upset they ran out of the Detroit chili, the gentle who informed me was sincere in his apology and promised me a great Flint style dog. I'll fill in more when I'm done eating, but the staff alone gets high marks. If the good is half as good as they, then I am in for a treat. Ask for Stephanie, bc she is kick-ass and knows how to take care of people.

Tried Halo because the kids wanted a burger and I didn't want chain fast food. I still got chain fast food or maybe a half a step up. They are basically the same as Steak and Shake. The kids Jr. burgers were really small (like McDs size) and didn't look that great to me. But my 6 & 8 year old boys loved them (6 year old gave them 10 thumbs up) so what the heck do I know. The fries were plain frozen type dropped in oil and doused with salt. If Five Guys or Fuddruckers get 5 stars, smash burger gets 4 stars and McDs gets 2 then this place is worth 3 stars.

Man I love me some Halo burger... so happy to see one and not get trapped into shopping at Birch Run. The place is very clean and looks upscale. The staff was very friendly and we sat immediately. Happy to have this in the neighborhood and looking forward to buying larger belts.

Not Good. Bitter aftertaste with tots. Probably used old grease. Wife and grand daughter experienced stomach cramps soon after. Staff acted with disbelief. Won't go back.

Great food!!! Crisp fries and juicy fresh burgers.. The mushroom Swiss was perfect! Staff very friendly and good family /casual atmosphere . Boston cooler was delicious. A michigan historical treasure

I don't understand all the bad reviews. My experience has been nothing short of excellent from the moment I walked in. The girl at the counter was super friendly and helpful in deciding my order. She was also very attentive as to the line of people coming in to the line cooks. I got a halapeno burger, tots, and boston cooler to go as well as another premium burger and fries for my friend. Very short wait and the guy who brought the food to me was equally as nice when he had to call my name since I didn't hear at first. As for the food itself? So tasty! You could taste the freshness. I love pepper jack and it was nicely melted. The tots were nom nom (my friend had the fries which was eh) and the boston cooler with verners couldn't be more delish. The place was clean and is in a nice location. IMO it's better than five guys. Give it a try!

Never had a bad experience here. This is my most favorite burger joint. The staff are always very friendly; they even bring the food to our table for us and have even taken care of our garbage when we finished! The burgers are so good. I usually just get the 1/4 pounder and I love every bite of it. I always amaze my husband when mine is gone before his! I usually get the tots. I love them. The fries aren't anything special and the onion rings are ok. The pop machine is cool too. I love how you can make any combo of flavors you want.

I moved to south Oakland County a few years ago and was dismayed by most of the food options here compared to Genesee County where I came from. Now that Halo Burger is in the area, there's no reason to get a burger anywhere else!

After the event on Tuesday, I knew I had to come here and try this place again. The food was so tasty that I just couldn't stay away. This Halo Burger is located in a little strip mall with a few other food establishments. I kind of knew what I already wanted, but ended up ordering the qp with tater tots and a drink. Delicious! The place is clean and neat, and has plenty of seating. The staff here was really friendly and they make all their food fresh and to order. They served it in cute wire baskets, which I loved! I was going to get a Boston Cooler, but was to full and tired afterwards to do so. Will gladly go here again in a heartbeat!

Went here for a Yelp Elite event last night ... normally we're told to review on the event page, but there is none this time, so I'm reviewing here instead :). I was excited to try out Halo Burger because I work practically across the street. The restaurant was closed for our event, and when we walked in we were greeted and told to have a seat. For some reason we were given a nice big basket of fried stuff first (onion rings, fries, tater tots) rather than the sandwiches, but we were the first people to arrive, so maybe that's why. We also got a cup and was able to choose from their Coke Freestyle machine (so many choices!), I started off with Raspberry Diet Coke. The onion rings were GOOD. I am a big fan of onion rings in general, and some places don't do them well, but these were crunchy and delicious, as were the tater tots. Fries were decent - not fantastic but not bad, either. Once more people showed up, we were given samples of their Boston Cooler (milk, Vernors, and ice cream) - I don't usually like Vernors, but it was delicious - and their burgers. To preface: I am a burger "purist" - I like pickles, maybe a tomato, and that's about it on my burger - so I set about scraping off toppings and whatnot. The burgers here are chewy (in a good way) and big, though, and I liked all the ones that I tried, except the A1 burger - but that's because I'm not a fan of A1. (Bold and Crispy, I think the actual name is?) I'd definitely come back to this Halo Burger for lunch during the workday sometime, I could actually walk there if the weather is good. We also got to try their grilled chicken sandwich, so I'd probably order either that or a burger with the tots and the Boston Cooler. Staff was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about which burgers were which, and their toppings. If you sign up for their e-club (via text) you get a free Boston Cooler, too, although I will say I think I did that once around 9pm and didn't get to use it, since the text said it expired that day - so don't do that until you are ready to go there.

The food was delicious! No frozen meat! I recommend the jalapeño burger. They have a variety of meats... Beef, chicken, and even fish. The double deluxe was delicious. My favorite accessory was the coke machine. Many varieties of a brand. Hospitable and friendly staff.

Yelp event last night. Can't say enough good things about the employees tasked to serve us for the event. They were all super friendly and willing to go out of their way to make sure everyone tried everything! Showed up a bit late with Connie, but we found a table with some other friendly folks, snagged some seagrams ginger ale from the million drink machine (it's a nice medium between vernor's and canada dry), and before we knew it we had some sides and a grilled chicken sandwich in front of us. I was pretty impressed with how juicy the chicken was, though I'm not one to order chicken in a burger place. The fried chicken was just as good! Sides were good, their onion rings are a little different than the battered norm. I think it could have used a little extra salt? Maybe some spicy mustard or horseradish sauce to dip in? The burgers were well constructed, flavors blended well together. I would maybe compare their burgers to a checker's/rally's, with a little bit more emphasis on ingredients. Their olive burger, which they claim is their signature, was pretty good. I prefer an olive tapenade over their regular green olives/mayo (it helps the flavors and textures blend better, in addition to keeping the bites consistent), though the flavors were right. This experience makes my last one at the Birch run location pale in comparison - though next time I'm on the road up North, I'll give them another try!

This place is awesome! We just had a special Yelp event here and they catered to us. It was lots of fun and great eats! The best burgers are: jalepeno burger, kew pee burger, and spicy chicken burger! Yum to the max!! Is say my fav is the Jalepeno burger since the pepper jack cheese melted with the jalepenos. It is delish! They brought us all their burgers for taste testing. They even brought us the chili cheese fries, onion rings, tots, and special Jalepeno ranch. It was a ton of food. We had a great time! The attitudes of the employees were upbeat and happy. We'll be back to this Halo Burger!

Fun Yelp event at a regional burger chain. Great meeting up with old Yelp friends! The samples were sliced portions of the burgers and other sandwiches, as well as sides such as fries, tater tots, and onion rings. Other samples included the "Boston cooler" (their milkshake made with milk, vanilla ice cream, and Verners) and chili cheese fries. I got my burgers and fries fix for the week! Looking at the menu, Halo's combo meals were on par with other burger chains. Definitely want to try Halos again!
(4)Ashley H.
This is our first time back to visit as a regular customer, not part of the Yelp event. The employees were so darn friendly I couldn't believe it! Our burgers were delicious, again. We split of side of chili cheese tots, which we had not tried before. The chili on top was so full of beans and meat, it just has to be available as a bowl. Yep, it is!

I'm shocked to see all the one star reviews! I came here after I had gotten my nails done since it was right next door and decided to try it out! I ordered the cheddar bacon burger with tots and a boston cooler. The burger wasn't bad, a little skimpy on the bacon but for all that the price was only $8.15 so I can't complain too much. I wish they had melted the cheese but like I said the burger wasn't bad- wayyy better than five guys and smash burger in my opinion! The tots had a weird bitter aftertaste which leads me to believe that the oil hasn't been changed that recently :/ if it weren't for the weird aftertaste these could have been the reason I would crave this place! Nice and crispy exterior and soft interior! The boston cooler was amazing! It didn't taste like Vernors though. More like a super vanillay shake with a dash of mystery lol Personally, I'm not a burger person (unless it's from redcoat) but I enjoyed my meal and would come back :)

Tried this place for the first time for dinner last night. Very good food, and prices really reasonably for the quality of ingredients. I'm not a meat eater, aside from fish, which is what I tried here. Great fish sandwich. Freshly made & tasty. Awesome tater tots. Mmmmm. They also have those 1,000,000-option drink machines, of which I've become a big fan. :) There's no drive through here, which I found interesting for a fast good place. I hope they get enough traffic at this location--because it was good food and great service.

After hearing raving reviews about Halo Burger, I was really excited to try this place out. However, this turned into one of those experiences where I was really hyped up, but completely got let down in the end. The service was adequate. The workers were cordial, but not as friendly as I would have expected. The food was average. Slightly better than a McDonald's burger, but certainly nothing to write home about. It was nice to expand my horizons and try something new, but I probably won't be back. The food definitely is not worth the price you pay. You can save $10 by eating fast food and you really won't notice a whole lot of difference.

Brought my boyfriend to the Yelp event, had tons of amazing food, and now he's pretty much obsessed with the place. It's 5-10 minutes from his apartment, so we've been back several times. The chili cheese fries are out of this world. They actually have beans in the chili on these fries- so rare! They also have Boston coolers and excellent burgers, and the Coke Freestyle machines, which are always fun :)

In general terms, I love burger joints, possibly too much. But among this category, few stand out to me as much as Halo Burger. In my opinion you just can't get a better burger and fries, for any amount of money. That said, most of my experiences with a Halo Burger have been in the Flint area locations, which if I'm honest are superior and more consistent that this particular location. That said, even second rate Halo Burger is better than pretty much any other burger chain you can think of. Bottom line, Halo Burger is 5/5, this location is a 4/5.

I went here for a Yelp event about a month ago, although I've been meaning to come back and try it as a regular patron. I'd have to lump Halo Burger into the category of Five Guys style burger joints, even though I know Halo Burger came first. You start off with a base patty, and you can pick your toppings from there. They have a few unique toppings that spice things up a little bit, but the key, I think, is the simple quality of the meat. The burgers are a little greasy, but not so much as to be off-putting, and the tater tots are quite delicious. It's a little on the pricey side for a fast food joint, but I'd say the quality is worthwhile. Oh, they have the super cool Coke machines that give you near infinite options for what you can drink. I want one for my basement.

I was a part of the Yelp event for this newer location. Keep in mind, I am not a Halo Burger virgin by any means. I grew up near Flint somewhat close to the original Halo. They were a regular stop for my family. However, I was a virgin to this Troy Halo Burger so I will review only based on my experience here. I will start off with the staff; excellent service! All servers were smiling, friendly, polite, and seem to take pride in working there. I was impressed with such good manners and attention to detail. Points times 10! Next is the food; I love their Quarter Pounders! I usually get everything plus the works (minus tomato based on preference). I had one at this location and it was made perfectly. The meat is not frozen. It is fresh and cooked to order. Not too shabby for a 'fast food' joint. I also tried the bacon cheddar burger for the first time...OMG! LOVE! Flavors were exactly as described; bacon and cheddar....the real deal; not imitation. The fries were okay but please note, I am not a huge fry fan. The tater tots were more my speed. I recommend those. I enjoyed the onion rings but noticed they changed the original style of said ring. Back in my day (at the other locations) the rings were more of a beer batter fluffy type if that makes sense. The new style are more crispy and more standard (like other fast food joints). Like I said, I enjoyed them but was somewhat disappointed they changed. Their big winner...the Boston Cooler. I have loved these since I was a kid. It was a treat to have one. Well folks, this location didn't let me down. Milk, Vernors, Vanilla Ice Cream....Oh my! GET ONE OF THESE! You will not regret it. Why they didn't get the full 5 stars??? There is no drive-thru which could make it difficult to get your 'fast food' service. Also, the location is a bit awkward as it's placed in a small strip mall on Big Beaver with very heavy traffic. No parking in front so you must park in the back which is a bit of a pain. Also, I admit I was a little bummed about the onion rings. Perhaps I shouldn't have went in with an onion ring expectation but hey, I did. My expectations were not meant when it came to my rings. So, I left full. I left happy. I will be back when I travel to Troy which is quite often. Stopping here is worth the traffic. Oh, and they started in Michigan. Support your locals people!! Yup, yup!

As Jim Carrey once said, I've had better. For the sake of trying something new and also being in the mood for a good burger we opted to try the newly opened Halo Burger that was just up the road from our office. I can honestly say I wasn't overly impressed and think I will stick to Five Guys if I am looking to get a good burger in the future. If I am spending roughly $13 for a burger, side and drink I expect it to be much better than this was. The patty was over cooked to the point it was breaking apart. Instead of having one solid piece of meat it ended up being roughly five dry chunks. As for flavor it was lacking the basic seasoning you'd come to expect a burger to have. Also I asked for no tomato and good thing I double checked before biting in to it because sure enough there were tomatoes on it. I noticed as well that there were no condiments on it either (ketchup, mustard and mayo), but I have a drawer in my desk stock piled with all the necessities one should need in situations such as this so I was set. Like I said, I just wasn't impressed and maybe I will give them another shot after a couple months and see if things have improved.

Having heard all about the Olive burger I ordered a #1 and asked them to add olives. What started out as about a $6 combo turned into a $10 combo. Trying to read through the receipt it looks like the cashier charged me for multiple sides of olives and based on the # of olives on my burger I'm guessing that was the case. If I base the review only on the quality of the food I would say that after I removed about 3/4 of the olives on my burger I thought it was a juicy burger and olives add a nice flavor to the burger. The onion rings were too crunchy and all I tasted was the breading.

We finally got to a Halo Burger here in metro Detroit. We think the burgers here are pretty decent as fast-food burger places go. Tater tots, olive burger (the original slop burger, in a good way) and a Boston Cooler...fast, tasty, filling and reasonably priced. Liked the crisp-looking and clean interior with the large vintage photo reproductions on the wall. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and efficient, delivering our food to our table when the order came up. Onion and lettuce were nice and crisp, the food arrived to the table hot and the burgers had a nice char on them. Glad these guys are here :)
(4)Robert E.
Been there a few times. First time was a avg experience. Second time wait 25 min for a burger. Then another 20 min for my shake. Not saying it's the servers fault nor the cooks. Only because there was only 2 people working trying to help 10 other customers.
(2)Cari M.
If you want extremely friendly service-- this is your place. I am happy to support a restaurant that is run by kind and good people. They will make your day! Try the double cheeseburger or the mushroom and Swiss. They have Boston Coolers and tator tots, too! Don't skip the jalapeño ranch sauce. Overall a good burger joint that is made fresh, not frozen. Who doesn't love the fancy soda machines, too?? Quality joint, worth checking out!

The one star reviews are virtually the most shocking thing I've ever seen in my entire life. I'm from Flint, so I've been eating Halo Burger for almost 30 years. Thin burger? Try the supreme.. ITS A HALF POUND BURGER. I was so happy that one finally opened in metro Detroit that I've been going as much as possible and bringing all my friends. I talked it up so much, and have been for years, and it has yet to disappoint anyone I've brought. Even a vegetarian friend of mine met me there and got some onion rings and a world famous boston cooler and was so satisfied he ordered another of both! Any reviews here lower than 4 stars is considered blasphemous. Without hesitation I am naming Halo Burger THE premiere burger spot in ALL of Michigan. And remember... 7 days without Halo Burger makes one weak!
(5)Kensey W.
not too bad for the price. i came here with my brother and i got the olive burger and he got a regular cheeseburger. they were pretty average, though i think they went a little heavy on the mayo on my burger. we also tried a strawberry milkshake (good!) and a boston cooler, which was weird here because they blend the ginger ale into the ice cream instead of serving it float style. i was told later that was normal, but there isn't even any fizz that way! it was still a decent milkshake thing. tots were crispy and good, but not as good as some other fast food (i'm thinking sonic haha). the prices felt super cheap - we got the two burgers, a shake, and tots for about twelve dollars. my brother got his boston cooler for free because of some promotion or other. the staff was really nice and the space was clean and spacious. not a place i'd go out of my way to come back to, but if i'm in the area and feel like a burger, i wouldn't mind stopping in.

Went 5/14 for a quick lunch. Had the halo double cheeseburger and fries combo. The staff was friendly and helpful. I placed my order and took a seat to await my food. Interior was bright and clean with a tv on the wall. Food was promptly delivered to my table. Overall the burger was tasty with fresh crisp lettuce and pickles. Fries were fresh and hot. Much better than a traditional fast food joint. However I thought the burger patties were extremely thin. Getting a double cheeseburger I would expect two normal quarter pound patties. Instead if was two extremely thin patties and an extra bun. I like the Coke machine that has all the different flavor options. I like a Mellow Yellow Zero with Cherry. That said, I place this place below the quality and flavor of similar places such as Five Guys or my favorite Wayback.
(3)Paul A.
I am really surprised at the people that do not like this place. I have been here two times and both times were great. The burgers are fresh and taste very good. The sides are good. The service is very friendly and willing to answer any questions. The place is new and very clean. If you have big appetite? I recommend the supreme with cheese. I also recommend a Boston cooler. Definitely try this place!
(4)Olivia G.
Ugh. Where to begin. This place is in walking distance from my work so I thought I'd give it a try. As I was reading the menu, the woman working the register just kept going "Why don't you just get the #1 if you are not sure what you want." First off, I understand if you are trying to be helpful but in this case, she was being rude. I decided to get the burger with A1 and onion rings thinking it would be a large enough burger to fill me up..WRONG. It was cold, the cheese wasn't even melted in the slightest and it was so thin that it looked like I was eating a Wendy's cheeseburger. I didn't even finish it because it was so tasteless. Thanks for nothing Halo Burger!
(1)Steven B.
I was happy to see this location of halo burger pop up near our home because I always used to go to the one in Birch Run when in that area and I liked it a lot. Guess it's not the same at all locations because the burger was just ok at this one.
(3)Andrea S.
This is one of those regional burger brands that has a loyal and vocal fan base and my husband and I were excited to give it a try. The place was shockingly understaffed on a busy Friday night (!) and THEY RAN OUT OF KETCHUP. Seriously. At a burger restaurant. The burgers were okay, nothing remarkable. If I'm going to spend the calories and $ on an upscale burger joint, it's Five Guys for me.
(2)Richard W.
I got a coupon in the mail for a .99 cent burger. With tots and a Diet Coke, it came to $3.91. I got what I paid for. The burger had a funny taste to it. I also don't feel too good. Lets hope that the cheap doesn't come out expensive .
(1)Rebecca C.
Not at all impressed with the service or the food. The poor cashier rang and deleted our order a few times and then it was wrong when we got it. The burgers were mediocre at best and quite sloppily made-I guess I expected a little more since my last visit to the one up 75 was wonderful.
(2)Ada P.
Awesome Olive Burger! Great staff, clean all in all great place to dine!!! We drove quite a distance and were not disappointed! You must check it out for yourself!
(5)Harjap D.
The interior is very well done. I just wish the same could be said of the food. The burger I receiver after a LONG wait was cold. I made them recook it. Once it was warm and I tried it, I noticed the patty was dry and lacking flavor. It was an average burger and same with the fries. I might give it another shot because they might have worked out some kinks since their grand opening. I hope the Dortch family will focus on quality instead of quantity when it comes with Halo Burger. It has a promising future if it sticks with its roots.
(3)Angela E.
I grew up in the Flint area and am excited to have this taste of home closer than an hour away. I saw the open sign today and decided to stop in for an olive burger and Boston cooler. Heaven. The giant historical pictures on the wall of the Saginaw Street location in Flint made me a little homesick, as did the food. This will be a favorite place for me to visit when headed to Somerset. The food was more expensive in this location so I deducted one star.
