The worst Chipotle in the Midwest! The staff here is so lazy and entitled. I hope they close this location down.

How do you run out of brown rice? And not have any made for back up? When I asked for brown rice for my bowl the kid went to get more and the girl in the back (who was doing nothing but sitting there the whole time I was in line) said that there was none, and that she didn't make any. Maybe she could have made that rice while she was doing nothing but chatting. How does this happen, especially at 3:30? Lazy staff, get it together.

Stopped in on a Sunday around 2:00. There was no line when I arrived and I counted 5 employees working. I stood there for a few minutes while the one woman working the line finished flipping the line, working with a sense of urgency. As I stood there a line formed. The food was ok but my main problem was that I had to wait while employees worked on other tasks. I understand that other things go into running into a restaurant but customers service should be first. Also two tall stacks of dirty six and third pans were on display during the course of my visit.

I'd like to preface this by stating that I have been to this Chipotle and it's been a decent experience. I came here yesterday around 1pm to catch a "quick" lunch with my husband who works down the street. Anyways, we walked in and it's packed. Line was wrapped around the restaurant. Sigh. But it was "lunch hour" with a lot of businesses around so we waited. And waited. About 15 minutes. When we finally get to the front of the line, an extremely rude employee stated to us that they "had no forks in the restaurant." Umm...excuse me? An eating establishment has NO utensils to eat their food? Unacceptable. Also, why did I have to wait 15 minutes to get to an employee to tell me, rudely, that I wouldn't have anything to actually eat my burrito bowl with. Smarter individuals would think that perhaps a sign on the front door would be helpful so people who don't want tacos or burritos could go someplace else in stead of wasting half their lunch hour in a line. How difficult would it have been for a manager or employee to run up to a grocery store and buy a bunch of plastic utensils? This company lost a customer for life after this experience. I could deal with having no utensils, but how the place handled it was unacceptable and I didn't need an accompanying attitude from an employee who couldn't have cared less.

Not bad, if you're REALLY hungry. :) There is something really comforting about eating a meat wrapped in a soft tortilla. Personally, I like corn tortillas better than flour, but eating a burrito here at Chipotle works just fine. I hadn't been to a Chipotle in quite some time, probably a few years. One day, after Husband and I had spent some time at Somerset Collection, we spotted this place and decided to have a bite to eat. Husband has never been to a Chipotle, so I wanted him to try it out. The first time, he ordered the steak burrito, and he was okay with it, not SUPER satisfied, but just OK. I later sampled a bit of his burrito, and found the steak to be too chewy and over seasoned. Perhaps they cut with the grain on the meat instead of AGAINST the grain, so it led to said chewy texture of the meat. I ordered the barbacoa, which is one of my favorites, and it surely did not disappoint. It would have been nice if it was hotter, but it was passable. I recommend getting the mild pico de gallo and mixing it with either the medium or hot salsa (depending on your spice tolerance). It really elevates the flavors of the meat and completes the overall taste of your meal. After the first time, we both stopped ordering the steak and stuck with their chicken and barbacoa. We've been back numerous times, and it's remained consistently fresh and tasty. For a little over $6, it's a really satisfying meal. My only qualm about this location is that the staff is inconsistent about keeping the counters clean and tidy. I understand that during the lunch or dinner hour, things can get a bit chaotic, but seeing salsa and sour cream splattered everywhere doesn't look so appetizing. Luckily, it doesn't happen all the time. I haven't been to any of the other Chipotle locations, but this one isn't bad. I agree that sometimes it gets a bit loud, but we don't spend a huge amount of time in there, so it's okay. Service is pretty good. People are pretty nice and are open to any of your requests.

This is my least favorite Chipotle ever (and I love Chipotle). They skimp on ingredients all the time. I want all 625 calories of my veggie burrito bowl, dammit! They'll give me the last three or four bits of charred fajita vegetables that are stuck to the pan and not give me any of the vegetables from the new batch that has just been cooked up. If I pay extra for guacamole, they'll give me maybe three tablespoons. The tortilla chips are either oversalted or way undersalted, and the bags contain 30% fewer chips than at other Chipotles. They tend to mark up my bowl with a ton of permanent black marker and cause my poor little burrito bowl to smell more like a permanent black marker than a delicious burrito. Also, the parking lot is always over capacity at lunchtime.

The food at this location is passable but this seems to be an exceptionally poor staff. Nights and weekends when I've been here they're typically slow and prone to mistakes. They're also unable to operate their register or make change so plan to pay by credit card to avoid delays and receiving the wrong change. There are other locations nearby which seem to have better quality food (this location seems to over cook and leave their inventory out longer than others). They also tend to go light on everything but the rice.

I was here when this place was open! I love coming here when I'm back in town for the Holiday! Such a nice and new place! Great and SIMPLE menu selection! Hearty meal with makes your $ stretch far! A big thumbs up for good, affordable, and healthy food! Highly a big PLUS!

I absolutely love Chipotles food. I have been to several locations and this one is no different than the other two I have visited. The whole experience was great and I will go to this Chipotle again when Im in the area.

This was the first Chipotle I ever tried and is definitely my favorite. The flavors of the chicken, rice, and the veggies definitely mesh really well here [burrito]; The chips are definitely not that great [too much salt], but I have yet to find another place that makes a burrito with the perfect flavors as Chipotle. :D

It seems I am doing the Troy Burrito Review this morning. Which is okay, I like burritos well enough, and Chipotle has yet to disappoint me. When this place opened up, a buddy of mine filled my head with stories about how wonderful the place was, as he had one local to him in Denver and visited it frequently. He said they were big on supporting local produce and free-range animals, and how fresh was the order of the day, and so on and so forth. He also claimed the burritos were so big that a person could not physically eat more than one. Well, as it turns out, Chipotle is not necessarily meat & tortilla wonderland, but it's not bad. Everything is hot and put together when you order it, and I like their salsas, and the pico de gallo generally looks pretty decent when I'm in there. I've not been able to prove or disprove the locavore type business practice, but I'd be interested in finding out sometime, when I have the time to do the digging. And the burritos *are* big. They're not astronomical like I'd been lead to believe, you won't get your name on a plaque for eating one, but they're plenty for your average glutton. I don't like to eat inside the place though. A questionable decision on the part of the folks who laid the place out, covered or created just about everything in the place out of galvanized metal, so it's stupidly noisy in there. Either way though I stop in every two or three months, give or take, and I don't regret it. It's worth a bite. As for that two-burrito challenge - and maybe it is also a testament to the food but I wouldn't go that far, personally -I ate both burritos, and collected twenty dollars from my friend in a bet. In case you were curious.

I LOVE Chipotle, but the service at this location is consistently poor--some of the slowest I've ever experienced. If you go during the lunch hour, expect to wait. They routinely run out of chicken and the line backs up out the door while they cook more. No discount or compensation is ever offered for those who experience a lengthy wait. Employees seem annoyed or disinterested, at best. I believe this store suffers from poor management, understaffing and lacks proper inventory control.

  • Tom R.

This store was just blah. Incredibly long line, stingy meat serving, nowhere to sit, just not a good experience. I also think that if they had self service kiosks there, it would really improve the customer experience, and reduce the line. Waiting 10+ minutes to go down the assembly line...which really doesn't add to the customer experience...sucks.

TIP: If you're getting take out make sure to grab utensils on your way out because they don't put any in your bag Good and quick service most of the time, good prices, great food. What's not to like? Sofritas are a great vegan protein option! My carnivore friends enjoyed it as well.

I hear people rave about Chipotle alllll the time. My coworkers are sort of obsessed. I've been a few times, and the line is always about 10-15 people deep. What is all the fuss about? I am lost. Chipotle is good! I like it. It's a pretty simple set up. Their burritos and bowls are enormous. This is easily 2-3 meals in one. I like the simplicity of the options. I also like that the rice has cilantro in it. They charge about $2 for guacamole, but they give you a ton. As much as I love guacamole, I'd like less of it because there's no way I'm going to finish the bowl. Everything tastes pretty fresh. They are constantly prepping and cooking food. Since they have a never-ending line, it's good to know that the food is fresh. I think they keep the production line moving pretty smoothly. It might take 10 minutes to get to the front, but that's only because there were 20 people ahead of you. The 3 stars is simply because I think it's just A-OK. I am not craving it or as big of a fan. If they had a bar, that would be different.....

This is the third time I have ordered online at this location and my meal has never been ready when I arrive. This time, I was purposely ten minutes late thinking it would for sure be ready. Nope. They don't even have chips right now. I'm waiting for chips... 2 stars because I haven't gotten food poisoning or anything.

Not all chipotles are created equal. Let me just start off by saying that I'm not the biggest fan of chipotle in general but this location really irritated me. They were super slow and lines were quite long (around 230pm on a wed?!) and out of a lot of items like chicken and black beans. "They'll be done in a couple minutes" turned into an aprox 7-10min wait. Also the girl making my bowl had some serious attitude and kept putting the wrong stuff in! Ex: white or brown rice? White please. Scoops in brown?! Corn salsa was frozen! Like at least have the decency to tell your customers that it's frozen or at least defrost it before serving. No one wants to bite into a hunk of frozen corn! I'm not sure if it was shift change time or what but they were swiping their cards like mad men on the register trying to get it to work and making our wait even longer. I was in line for like 20 mins and my food was cold by the time I got home (I live a couple miles away). Lastly, there was a group of 3 workers standing around and eating tortilla chips. Maybe you should come help your crew get through the line of customers rather than socializing at work?! So annoying, I most def will not be back!

I had not been to ANY Chipotle in a really long time. I used to be a taco "purist," in that I would only get the meat and the shell ... now I realize that's a bit boring :P. My boyfriend had been to this location the day before, and was craving it again, so we went back. I got 3 chicken tacos ($6.50 or so) with their cilantro-lime brown rice and salsa (more like pico de gallo). It was tasty but nothing super special - my favorite place for pico de gallo is actually Zumba Mexican, in Royal Oak. I'd like to come back here and try a burrito or one of their bowls, though, which is what he likes - and with steak, too. I got three hard shell tacos because I was craving the crunchiness of them, but I think next time I'll get soft shell - hard shell can get messy. I've eaten at other places in this plaza during the summertime, and I saw Chipotle has an outdoor section to eat at, which looked nice. When I went, it was about 2pm on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't that crowded, which was also good.

Proud Chipotle addict! But this location horribel! Poor custmer service, wait until a product is one spoonful from empty to call back for more, they do not keep the forks, napkins, etc. stocked, do not pay attention most of the time... this location just needs a lot of help! I only have them two stars because the food is good!

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! 6 people standing around doing nothing! Either train your employees better or hire better people. This reflects on management more than their staff. I've worked in over a dozen restaurants and this is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had... Shame on you Chipotle ...

My first time at any Chipotle! I was worried by previous reviews of this location, closest to work, but, not a thing that I could say negative about service or food! Excellent burrito bowl w chicken! Amazingly tasty w brown rice ! It was after lunch hour so, they were cooking up more steak but, I am super happy with this restaurant!! That they are going ALL GMO FREE by end of this year makes me love them all the more! GO!!

Yes, there's a lot of hype, and yes, the service can be slow and unaccommodating at times. But let learn you a little something about Chipotle that most people can't put into the right words. This is one of the few, and probably the only, fast-casual Mexican restaurant that may even take the cake as the greatest restaurant of the 21st century. Chipotle has consistently proven to be the freshest, tastiest, and most likable meal for millennials. This is no exaggeration whatsoever. I'm serious bruh. You can read on their website all about their organic products, no need to dive deep into that. They may be the first restaurant to eliminate every form of bull shit from the dining process. They provide all the ingredients you need to make a tasty meal, and give you plenty. Ya, 7 bucks for a burrito you say, but don't tell me you don't wanna go home and pass tf out once you finish it. Well worth it. Extra for guac? That ish is hard to make bruh, try doin it on your own. It makes sense. Proteins? Tasty as ever. Vegetarian? Sofritas. Little carbs? brown rice. Veggies? most definitely. Cheese/sour cream? Of course. And when you put it all together, you get a beautiful mixture. These ingredients are soulmates bruh, any combo will do u good. I'm writing this today to represent the voices of the unheard - the loyal customers of Chipotle-Troy who already know this is the Mecca of dining. 2 Stars is simply pushing it fam. I'm here to change that, and highly encourage any first-timers to go in there with an open mind, and i swear 3 god ur life will be changed. If not, well...that really sucks. Prob cause u spent ur whole life eatin that qdoba. And if that's u, well I'm sorry. "OOhh but qdoba has queso" really is that necessary? That hides tha taste of the ingredients. Queso is a lie. It does nothin for ur burito. So please, if anyone wants a guided tour of chipotle troy, hmu and i will give u the experience u've needed ya whole life.

Horrible service. Walked in with about 10 people in front of me. The 10 minutes I was in line the first 2 girls that had just started ordering when i walked in had not even reached the cash register when I walked out. Can't tell you about the food cause I never even got close enough to see it. Also the tables we're dirty and there was trash on the ground. Skip it.

I was in there yesterday between 5:30 and 6:00 pm and there was a little line, but it moved fairly quickly. I ordered chicken tacos. I wanted the hot chili sauce on them and the girl takes the spoon and pours the sauce not in the taco but over all the shells!!?? Who the hell does that?! I then asked if the sauce made it on the 3rd taco and she said "ya see?" I thought that was kind of rude. When I got home I had soggy tacos thanks to the sauce poured all over them...next time I guess I will get the sauce on the side!!

Worst service ever! It's lucky that this is a chain restaurant and therefore the food tastes the same regardless of the awful service. No matter how long the line is, there are always several workers lounging about or goofing off. The store is never clean. It mystifies me that not a single worker would feel compelled to put in some effort while a store full of dissatisfied customers watches you screw around. On top of being lazy, the "talent" seems to be a true troop of degenerates. I'd love to know who does their hiring because it seems you must be rude, unprofessional, and immature just to get hired on. I saw a business card stilling at the front register, and I considered writing the owner to express my disappointment. However, that meant wasting more of my time on this terrible store.

I'm usually a die-hard fan of Chipotle. Not this location. This is strike three. I've given them three separate chances to redeem themselves. Not happening. Today the line was backed up to the door - which is normal at lunchtime. I've grown to accept that. What I witnessed today was ridiculous. The fax pickup line was longer than the regular eat in line. There were at least 20 people in that line when I got there. When I left it was down to about 10. Most of which were already in line when I walked in. I overheard them speaking with the manager (maybe?) and the staff - and several had already been waiting 20 minutes. I was in there for 20 minutes. So that means the folks at the end of the line were already at the 30-45 minute mark. Yikes. For a fax in order. Needless to say people were upset. Some folks only get a half hour for lunch - if your food is supposed to be ready at a certain time, don't make it 45 minutes late. I went to order like usual - today they were out of brown rice. Fine. I'll take white. Undercooked and hard. Thank you. Pinto Beans. I got maybe a 1/4 of a scoop because the rest of the vat was juice. The fajita veggies. Oh - sorry. Not enough for my bowl. 10 minute wait. OK. Skip it. Chicken. Turns out it was cold, undercooked, chewy. And hey - what happened to the old chicken spice profile? Did they throw out the recipe? It's been overwhelmingly bland the last few times I've gone there. Sad face. Side note - adding ICE COLD SOUR CREAM AND SALSA FREEZES THE HOT FOOD UNDERNEATH. I understand they have to keep that stuff cold. But maybe not THAT cold? Just a personal preference. Anyway - the people in line for the fax orders could have gotten fresh orders faster if they'd have just gotten in line. Also, while I ate my bowl, I watched the line stop no less than 7 times when they ran out of something. Yep, I'm done. Sorry guys. Used to be good - not so much. Maybe it's just this location - but man. Depressing because I really had a taste for it. What happened to the quality, and the service? Out the window.

We love chipotle but this is the worst location ever. It is insanely slow, the staff can't seem to anticipate when running out of food, and the place looks like they have not cleaned in weeks. Seriously your team needs better training.

What can you say that has not already been said. Guac is extra and worth it. Eat here. Buy stock. Support real food. The staff here is cheerful and always pleasant. It can get crowded at lunch time. The line will be 20 deep. But it moves really fast. I haven't tried faxing in my order yet. But you can.

From start to finish this experience was a disaster. The place was an absolute mess. Almost every table had food remnants on them, napkins and straw wrappers were on the floor and the beverage area looked like a bomb went off. Pop everywhere, slices of lemon on the floor and lids scattered in every direction. Granted I did come just after their lunch rush, but that is not a viable excuse for the filth. There were plenty of kids, and I mean that literally and will explain later, to man all the sections of the restaurant including keeping the dining room area clean. I should have turned around and walked out as soon as I set eyes on the place, but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to go any place else. This was my first and more than likely last experience with Chipotle as a whole. I was familiar with how the place worked seeing as how I am an avid supporter of Qdoba so ordering wasn't a problem. The problem was the rude staff. The first person who started my burrito was nice, but when I moved on the the girl who puts the cheese and extras on I could tell she'd rather be elsewhere. I requested guacamole to be added and in a snotty tone she looks up at me and says "You know that's extra... RIGHT!" As if I couldn't afford the extra buck or two to add it. After acknowledging I was aware of the added charge she slops it down in my burrito without any care or respect for her job or the customer. Also the entire time I was there the rest of the staff in the back as well as up front were acting extremely juvenile being loud and obnoxious. The place was literally ran and manned by a bunch of High School kids on Summer vacation. When the adults are away the kids will play right? On to the food. The saving grace was the Guac and that was it. I ordered a Steak Burrito and in almost every bite I had a nasty, fatty, chewy piece of meat that I wouldn't even serve to my dogs. I take that back. I respect my dogs way too much to ever serve them crap like that. These bits tasted like the trimmings you would cut off and toss in the trash. The first bite I had literally had me gagging. From that point on I had to inspect each piece and remove the ones that were bad. I ended up with a solid handful of bits I ended up discarding. Aside from the nasty burrito there was no ice in the pop machine. Thankfully the pop was already cold enough that I didn't really need it. Needless to say I will be passing on Chipotle and sticking with Qdoba when I am in the mode for a gourmet burrito.

Ok they are only getting 2 stars because the food tasted good. Service was horrible and the restaurant was dirty. There was no ice and they ran out of chips. We saw a girl in the back doing food prep with her long hair hanging down over the food. They had ample people working but the place looks sloppy. The area around the register hadn't been cleaned for a while. The tables sat empty with crumbs and yet one of the workers felt compelled to refill the forks, which were full enough. Hello! What about the ice or the tables or the counter by register. We cleaned our own table, they were void of food trays and I had to remind them that they put my quesadilla in the press.

OMG, I LOVE CHIPOTLE! CHIPOTLE IS MY LIFE! But for real, I've never had an issue here except during lunch the other day I received a tiny portion compared to dinner time. Could have been a new employee or chipotle maybe portions less during the lunch rush? Overall, a great location and employees are very friendly!

  • Bob K.

Why do I keep coming back to this location? I've never seen more slow-witted, bored looking employees. If I don't ask for extra rice every time - I get about a dixie cup's worth. Fun fact, kids - rice is one of the CHEAPEST things you have to offer, so don't skimp on the filler. As others have said - meat is inconsistent. Sometimes - I'm swimming in carnitas and other days five tiny chicken cubes is supposed to be enough. Half the time - they are out of what I want, most recently, it was vegetables. The kid who was back at the grill was told 5 times that they needed more veggies. After 15 minutes of waiting - he was asked how they were doing and gave a blank stare saying, "you needed what, now?" PROs - There's a Q'doba right down the street. CONs - Under-educated staff without a basic knowledge of customer service. - Poorly maintained stock, even during the "non-Prime Time" periods. Oh, and I should add - don't bother placing an order online. 4/5 times that I've done so and shown up 5-10 minutes LATE for my pick-up, they started making the order for me right when I arrived. Convenient? Not at all. And when I was getting yelled at by a customer for "cutting in line" after placing an online order - no one behind the counter said a word. Drive to the Woodward location - it's worth the extra gas!

Let me emphasize first that I love Chipotle as a chain but this particular store manager definitely has the employees on tight and getting tighter portion control that is bordering on ridiculous. This location is the closest to my house but after my visit last night I think I'm going to try another address and see if I get a more satisfying portion than what I took home last night. The overall prices may be stable (other than "guacamole" but the portions are most definitely getting smaller and smaller as to everything else substantial that goes in the bowl. Even the black beans which are inexpensive are far less generous in portion than they used to be and the chicken portion makes a weight watcher a very easy thing to do. Chipotle has long been my fast food of choice on a night when we need to grab and go. Even when I pay almost $2.00 for an ever shrinking dollop of "guacamole" that is actually more mashed hass avocados which is an excellent fat and in my book so much better than adding a soupy mystery mix of something called "guacamole" . What I'm excited to report on is that they FINALLY have brown rice! What I'm less excited to report is that it may well be that the reason they have never added brown rice is that fast food and brown rice are a tough act to pull off successfully time after time and consistency is a big part of Chipotle's success. I recently had occasion to try a Moe's in Colorado and here in Michigan we have Q'Doba and I am still stopping at Chipotle for quality if not quantity for my fast food fix. 6/1/2012 We ate at Chipotle the other night and I was very disappointed that the servings continue to shrink and worse still the sour cream was watered down such that it was runny and the guacamole also seemed watered down and a dollop that makes it less and less palatable to purchase for $2.00. I love the flavor but whether local franchises are making these cost saving decisions or as a restaurant overall, I am disappointed.

Outstanding food and service as always. Gets REAL busy at this location after 11:45am during the week until about 1:30p. Always a hit though if I am in need of a quicker lunch!

I arrived at lunch time to a line going out the door. My daughter was excited to try this place. I had a salad with brown rice, steak, & beans. It was really good and a perfect fit for my clean eating. She had a taco and enjoyed it. The parking lot is kind of cramped for such a small location. Next time I go I will bring some heartburn medication. Yummy, fresh, goodness, will be back.

The only reason it's not 5 stars is cause it's just small choices to pick from. Taco or burrito. But the choices are delish.

I felt like some Tex Mex style food and I normally love Chipotle...I get a burrito bowl and some chips. I went to this Chipotle around 11:20am or so today. I was greeted, my food was made...but... There was a customer in front of me whose food was already made, and the poor girl who was making mine kept on yelling back to get the cashier up to allow the customer to pay. Just as the guy was coming up, the customer left his food on the counter and left without paying...all because there was no one to take his money. Then my turn...I get guacamole on my burrito and chips...I look at my receipt and I was charged for guacamole on the burrito and a side of chips...which is a little more expensive than being charged for a side of chips and guacamole. Now let me say, it was not a question of the $0.10 extra that I was charged. I told the cashier that it was more than the menu and he told me that it was becuase I got the guacamole on the burrito and not on the side. We discussed a little bit about the merits, or lack thereof, of his argument. He was chuckling as we were discussing the3 absurdity of whether or not the guacamole wa on my burrito. He made me so upset, I no longer wanted to eat there...and asked for a refund. The managet came up and refunded me the money and did not seem really interested inthe fact that their restaurant just lost out on about $20 in the last 5 minutes because Mr. I cannot shave and insist on having holes in my ears and get paid for not doing my job was working there. This really makes me not want to ever go back to a Chipotle.

In the area and couldn't find a Moe's Southwestern. What's the next best thing? Chipolte. After weeks of watching the founder talk about how great Chipolte was on "America's Next Best Restaurant", we decided to check it out. We ordered 2 chicken burritos and a bowl which consisted of all the burrito fillings, just minus the wrap. Each order rings in at under $10.00. Portions were big and hearty but did not come with a side of chips like Moe's. They charge an extra $.75 for guacamole and $3.00 for an order of chips and guac. Service was pretty fast and this location had a nice outdoor patio seating area. As far as fast casual restaurants in the US goes, this is probably one of the better ones. Food is relatively fast, fresh and assumingly healthy.

The food is consistent with good ingredients. Watch the portion size though... Low calorie it isn't.

I walked in expecting to get a premium Mexican style meal. I am from California, the origin of Chipotle, and the home of Mexican food. I was not impressed one bit. The people working behind the counters were wiered and disgusting. First there was wierd tatoo girl on the grill, wierd dreadlock dude at the front counter, and wierd acne boy at the serving station. Based on the wierd people working here, I hope I don't get salmonella later. The food was decent, through, consistent with CA based Chipotle restaurants.

By now if you've been following my reviews, you know that I love Chipotle. From the buritto bowls, to the soft tacos, I'm in heaven with each and every bite. My only gripe with this particular location is that sometimes the steak is not cooked to my liking. It's often a little too soft, and even red. Still, I continue to patronize this location and the last few times, they've gotten it right!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque.
