Nice restaurant, good service. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai--BIG MISTAKE, the noodles were overcooked and gummy, the shrimp small and rubbery and I could not taste any peanuts. I would be willing to try this place again but I think I'd go with the Chilean sea bass it looked good and others in my party said it was delicious.

Had their signature bang bang shrimp. Nice texture and good and spicy. My wife had the crab cake entree which was very flavorful with nice lump meat. I had the swordfish with a chilled couscous salad. Fish was properly cooked and quite flavorful

Good food. Lilly's chicken was good. Fontina chop was good. Corn chowder was ok. Service was great. Jarrod the owner made sure we were satisfied. We will go back.

So when you arrive, if there is a wait, you can opt for self seating in the bar area, including long tables (seat eight) that can be shared. Great idea, but what seemed to happen tonight is that the server was already busy. Took forever to get our drinks; long delays between courses; when a manager asked if there was anything they could do, I point to our drinks sitting at the bar and requested that they be brought over. Manager never came back. We enjoy their food, but get better experiences at Tom's or Lilly's as they seem to appreciate our (repeat) business.

Third time here at the Troy location and consistency keeps me coming back! Not to mention the excellent coupons they send when you sign up for the diner rewards program! I always get my favorite table in the bar area and the staff is always courteous, lively, and helpful. Actually got to know a few "doctors" working there so hopefully they succeed! Wednesday nights are bang bang shrimp night so of course I went and smashed an order. Followed by a house salad and the spicy tuna bowl. Cannot go wrong there! Washed down with a Griffin Claw screaming pumpkin and two Hop a Peel IPAs from Atwater. Honestly one of my favorite places to eat. Try the mussels they're excellent too!

Based on other reviews - which, strangely, didn't often mention the quality of Bonefish Grill's actual grilled fish - we did not have lofty expectations. But we're visiting the area and were really craving some basic, well-cooked seafood. And - we found it here! We're from SF so we tend to have a high bar for restaurants and in particular, seafood. Happy to tell you all, Bonefish Grill served us up some EXCELLENT Chilean sea bass - great exterior sear and seasonings, with a pristinely fresh, tasty, tender interior - and the salmon also was delicious and perfectly cooked as ordered. Yes, the Bang-Bang Shrimp, as mentioned by almost all reviewers, are a great way to start - addictively crispy/creamy and spicy. Plus we enjoyed pretty decent house wines (and we got there in time for happy hour prices, double bonus!). Get the yummy cheesy au gratin potatoes (with crunchy panko crumbs on top!) for your side. And if you still have room for dessert, head directly for the house-made doughnuts with caramel and chocolate sauces ... they arrive light, hot, and fresh and taste particularly delicious with the caramel and whipped cream alongside. Excellent coffee too. And, other than somewhat clueless reception staff, we had wonderful, cheerful, attentive service (sitting at the bar - always fun). Add it all up and: 5 stars for Bonefish!

It was alright I had the swordfish and squash raviolis with a side of vegetables. What I didn't like about it was for being an "expensive restaurant" they took some pretty cheap shortcuts to make their food taste good. Such as adding excessive butter and oil to make their fish good after coating it in bacon bits it just doesn't make sense. Additionally, adding hamburger meat to your side of vegetables seems very counter-intuitive to eating your vegetables. Overall is not in bed but like other local high class restaurants they need to take more advanced routes to enhancing the flavor of their dishes rather than taking the cheap ones to maximize their profit.

Honestly only went here because Melting Pot was closed, turned out to be totally ok with that. Great range of choices, the ceviche was terrific, which, I had resigned myself to the thought that ceviche should only be eaten in California, so that turned out to be a great surprise. Seems like a nice alternative to the busier parts of Troy, ie the restaurants surrounding Somerset.

Tricia was a great waitress! We arrived an hour away from close but she was most pleasant. Took her time in explaining the Martini Choices and went above and beyond. We had the delicious bang bang shrimp, dirty martinis and chicken with goat cheese and artichoke. Delicious!!

I've been to Bonefish twice now and both times were amazing!! If you go here, you NEED to try the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer! I also recommend the Baja Fish tacos! There entree portions are on the smaller side, but I appreciated that coming from a health-conscious side. Amazing atmosphere. I really felt the staff knew their menu and had great suggestions. It is loud and super busy after 5pm, even if you book reservations. Parking is harder to find after 5pm, even on week nights, so if you're meeting people at that time or later, get there a bit early.

Visited on a Friday night. Made reservations online in advance, and was promptly seated upon arrival. Restaurant was packed. Food was what I have came to expect from Bonefish. Food was good, service was good but server was a bit....over attentive; visiting a little too frequently, which interrupted our meal often. The only reason that prevented me from giving 5 stars is the parking. Recent snow has limited the available spots (25-30% less than normal ) and when the additional commercial spaces are filled here, parking is going to be seriously problematic.

I can't get over how good the food at Bonefish Grill was. I still think about it months after going there for the first time. Myself and a few coworkers went to Bonefish one night after work. It was a hard day and we felt like we deserved it. It was a rainy night and our moods were pretty bad, but everything about Bonefish made us feel better. The ambiance is very nice. I'm not into bright places because I easily get headaches, so the dim rooms and warm candles were great. The hostess seated us within five minutes of entering. Our server was very nice. A little forgetful (she forgot about refilling our waters twice), but she was cheery and we understood how hard it is working the front of the house on a busy night. We gave her a break. My coworkers ordered the Bang Bang shrimp and shared it. It looked delicious, but I'm allergic to crustaceans. I wasn't in a seafood mood considering the place we were, so I ordered beef. Even though I loved the steak, I couldn't get over the mushroom and truffle macaroni and cheese. It was too good. The smell of truffles was everywhere and it reminded me of the days I used to work very closely with truffles. It brought back good memories and filled my tummy. I had a pineapple martini. I'm not into bitter tasting drinks and I was expecting it to be sweet, but it wasn't. I had to chug it down because I wasn't about to waste my money. It was still tasty, but I would have gotten something else. Despite that, I give the place a solid 4 stars.

WOW! The food is delicious at Bonefish Grill. If you like mussels, you need to order them. They were the best part of the meal. We also ordered the crab cakes and the salmon and both were very satisfying.

We went for lunch for a business mtg. The waitress didn't come by often, we had to send back my partner's undercooked fish. By the time it arrived, I was done with my meal and lunch was over. Luckily, the Manager came by and remedied it. It's nice when something does go wrong there is someone willing to take care of it. The waitress was good and all, just could have used a bit more attention instead of flagging her down. I will return, because the food was great, just an unfortunate event.

Poor customer service. I called to pay for a family meal remotely for a celebration and received no help. "I can't do that." Most restaurants at least have a solution where you could send a bottle of wine or a dessert. This was a large meal. I won't bring our next one here.

This new Bonefish is FANTASTIC! The food was perfection, every single dish we tried! And the service was top notch as well. The grapefruit martinis are heavenly. The manager, Jared, stopped by to check on us half way through dinner. I would go back just to see him again!

Dining at restaurants like Bonefish Grill is why I work 7 thousand hours a week while pistol whipping fatigue and sleep deprivation with double shots of espresso drowning inside of so much coffee that I should start advocating stem cell research for adrenal glands as I'm sure mine are permanently shot. I decided that Monday night would be a good opportunity to indulge in something glorious. Enter the Bonefish Grill: 36 Chambers. My 8 oz filet mignon was apparently cooked in a woodfire oven and while I'm unsure of what particular brand of voodoo these cooks used on my steak, I assure you that it was a monumental delight. It was cooked medium and I simply can't verbalize how tender and tasteful it actually was. A butter knife could have easily cut through it. This place is owned by the same group as Flemming's in Birmingham and these fine chaps know steaks like Nicki Minaj knows ass augmentation. Seasonal Cranberry Ginger Shandy poured from a Leinenkugel's tap was my appetizer and it was cool, crisp, delish and served in a super slim pint glass. Warm bread and the most devilishly seasoned olive oil dipping sauce was served soon after. LOVED IT. My date had the Ahi Tuna bowl and enjoyed it so much, she actually finished her leftovers later on in the night which never happens. The bill for two entrees and three beers was $50 on the dot. I've spent a lot more for less quality so I thought it was a great deal. Our waiter Dayne had the gift of gab and was flipping fantastic in all dimensions, taking his time to professionally present us with their specials and specialties. Ask for him by name when you visit and I promise it will be the best service of your life. I told the host that it was our first time and the manager personally came to our table to ensure the dining experience was everything it could be. And it most certainly was. Also noteworthy was the interior design which oozed with ambiance and seduction making it perfect for an intimate night. I hope the recent construction traffic hasn't deterred too many customers because their concept is perfect for this stretch on Big Beaver Road. Thank you Bonefish for turning a case of the Monday's into a really great night. Sincerely, New Regular Customer

I personally think that the food portion is not worth the price. My boyfriend asked for a large Atlantic salmon and what he got looked just sad and so little.

3.5 Stars. I have been here three times now and I think the ratings are right on. This is a solid chain restaurant. On my latest visit we started with their signature appetizer, the Bang Bang Shrimp. I am Asian, so there was not enough spice for me to consider it "Bang Bang" but it is still quite delicious. You can't go to wrong with fried shrimp drenched in spicy mayo. Honestly, I got as much enjoyment eating the lettuce underneath the shrimp. For my entree, I had the Spicy Tuna. It was simple and clean. Yes, this place is a chain restaurant, and it offer all the comforts and quality you would expect from a chain.

Good food. I had the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos and they are stuffed full of shrimp. I had a shrimp or two that fell out with every bite. They were delicious. The only thing they were missing was a little lettuce or cabbage. The french fries were okay. They were barely warm but that might have been due to the fact my tacos had tomatoes after I requested no tomatoes and sent them back. The waiter was pretty bad. He didn't clear the bread from the table or our empty drink glasses, or any plates for that matter. The table ended up looking very messy, which is unappealing while eating. My dad had the teriyaki chicken bowl which was good. The sauce was a little strong but had good flavor. The chicken was tender. The oil dip with herbs for the bread was yummy. The hostess was very sweet and personable. I don't think I would be back because there are other restaurants I prefer in the area. That being said, I was unsure whether to give this restaurant 3 or 4 stars...3.5 stars in my heart.

Excellent fish selection. Our waitress did a wonderful job of suggesting the style for fish selections. Great selection of cocktails. I always get martini when I am there. Tell them it's a special occasion that you are celebrating abs you get a treat to take home.

I received really great service from the bartender Colin! The food was pretty decent, but not sure if worth the price. I tried the bang bang shrimp tacos, which were three tiny tacos maybe like 4-5 inches each..they were delicious though. I also tried the American Kobe Beef Burger. It was a huge 1/2 lb burger, but it was a little bit dry for me. I also asked for medium, but got medium well. There is also a happy hour on wednesday's as well as 4-630pm that you should definitely check out!

Came in for the first time because their menu looked good. Sat at the bar while waiting for out table and the bartenders were AMAZING and helpful. Ordered appetizers and came prompt while waiting for our table. The bang bang shrimp tasted boiled and plain with a sauce tossed on it. I dont know what the hype is on it. The Tuna appetizer is over priced for what is offered compared to high end seafood places I go to. When our table was ready we sat for 20 min finishing our appetizers and drinks and not one person came to the table to take our order or to get a refill. We took our last sip, got up and went next door to Carrabas which was AMAZING.

Our choice for seafood every time! Outstanding staff - shout out to our favorite server, Natalie. Keep up the great work! We have dined at Troy Bonefish Grill many times, always pleased, and sometimes even wowed. Lately, we have been choosing to seat ourselves at the long bar tables for appetizers, excellent cocktails and a shared entree - sometimes at Happy Hour discounted prices. We like the pacing - easier to eat and run. Bang-Bang Wednesdays are our favorite and we often have dinner just on shrimp! Love the pulled pork dim sum rolls, too. We always order corn chowder with crab and tried the new menu sweet lips, excellent. Always a great evening and often a tasty lunch as well.

Got together for lunch with our group of former classmates. I was first to arrive and was immediately greeted by the hostess and shown to our reserved table for nine. Our waiter TJ was quick to offer water while I waited for the rest of of our party. We managed to coax a few additional people to join us and the hostess and the waiter were quick to accommodate them. TJ took our order for drinks. We toasted one member of our party on his coming birthday and the manager came to the table to offer her birthday wishes as well. Sam joined TJ in taking our orders. A number of people had the fish and chips. You get three pieces of haddock with a very light batter coating. The fish tasted fresh and happily not overcooked. The fries are good as well. Think I would like for them to not put the fish on top of the fries as it makes the fries soggy. It comes with an unusual spicy tartar sauce and catsup. One member of our party had the talapia fish sandwich and another had the fish tacos. Both said they enjoyed their meals. Our water glasses and coffee cups were promptly refilled. At the end of our meal our birthday celebrant was presented with a small beautifully wrapped box with two cookies inside. The restaurant is very pretty inside. They do have patio seating as well. Thanks to staff a lovely and enjoyable experience.

Bang bang shrimp was scrumptious! Very fresh and tender shrimp with a light crisp breading and a tangy sauce. Super yummy next time I wouldn't mind ordering that as my meal it was that good. I also ordered the black cherry mojito (minus the mint-I can't stand it) which was gone before the bang bang came it was that good and I rarely drink! I highly rec it if you're into drinks that are yummy and not too heavy with the alch! I ordered the tilapia imperial which was flaky and flavorful. I would have preferred larger chunks of seafood stuffed inside my fish rather than a paste but it was still pretty good. This is where the -1 star comes in-the sides. I had the herbed couscous salad which was just ok but the part that kinda pissed me off was the garbanzo bean and churizo side that came with it. The amount that you receive was a joke I literally had MAYBE a tablespoon or two of it on my plate. Who gives such a dismal amount of a side when you pay a pretty penny for the food? I would have appreciated a decent "side" amount, not a taste. The Lilly's chicken was great! Make sure you like goat cheese because it's like drenched in it but the chicken was perfectly cooked. The potato au gratin was cheesy and yummy as a side. Long story short: bang bang shrimp, tilapia imperial, Lilly's chicken and the cherry mojito are worth a try. But the sides are really skimpy with portions

New to Michigan so we weren't sure what to expect. The appetizers were both good(we had the sashimi and calamari). I had the scallops and my wife had the haddock both of which were outstanding. Being from the gulf coast I was very surprised by the quality. The real highlight for us though was the service. Dane went out of his way to suggest some local places to hangout afterwards and things to do, and was extremely friendly. His service was excellent and we would come back just for him. We had a great night and will definitely be back.
The GF and I met another couple for dinner here on a pre-storm tuesday night, on their suggestion. Got there a little early place was about 60% full, no wait for a table, but feeling a little parched we figured we would wait in the bar area. While we were waiting on our friends to arrive we grabbed a seat and Lori was prompt to wait on us and give wine suggestions. After serving our drinks she offered to bring us bread and pesto, that was a nice touch & the first time that has happened to me while waiting for a table. Bread was hot and fresh and yummy (between the 4 of us we had 3 loafs at the bar and one at the table) The staff was on top of it, service was excellent and the wine flowing. I ordered the Steak topped with Lobster Thermidor ( 6 oz wood-grilled sirloin, sweet lobster, lump crab, a velvety sauce with a hint of sherry + garlic whipped potatoes ) Tuesday is Tuesday Tails (lobster) at $16.90 it was a deal and was excellent. Everyone was happy with their meal, the service and decor. The only thing I can come up with that wasn't top notch is there was a little miscommunication on getting me my steak knife. ( Funny cause that's two in a row, they forgot my steak knife at the rattlesnake club last friday also) The fact that they have only been open a few weeks make it that much more impressive, I see at repeat visit in my future.

This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. Service was excellent & the waitress was great at explaining the menu. You will not regret getting the bang bang shrimp. I had the steak with a lobster tail and it was cooked perfectly. Atmosphere is light. Definitely worth the wait. We will be back.
Trash. Trashy, bad food bad crowd. Poorly made drinks. The servers can't get it right. Ice cube takes up the entire glass. Food was bland. Don't waste your time. Many good restaurants in area. Do not come to this one.

We ate here for my birthday and had great service and food. We also got take out in valentines day and it was still great!
A popular spot for work happy hours due to location, I personally am not a seafood person but I love the Ocean Trust Tropic Heat martinis! Unique and delicious with just the right amount of spicy kick. Also love the Potstickers appetizer, always done perfectly. Great salads also! My coworkers love the seafood-based appetizers.

I cant believe a place that charges $14 for a burger doesn't ask you how you'd like it done.. Mine was a crispy well done.. We went for brunch and I ordered the "surf and turf" benedict, promising filet mignon and lobster. Both together barely filled the perimeter of an english muffin. Unseasoned and completely bland.. My kind boyfriend let me switch him for his charred burger (cause he's sweet like that) Service was friendly though, our waters were kept full. Our bang-bang shrimp app was the highlight of the meal. The bloody mary I ordered that promised a kick was nothing more than canned tomato juice with citrus vodka and some fat olives on a toothpick... Place has a cool atmosphere and its clean. We'll come back from drinks and apps but I don't know about dinner...

Great restaurant! Went on a Sunday for Brunch with a party of 14. We made a reservation which was handled nicely. Our table was set up and ready upon arrival. Food was great! I enjoyed the bang bang shrimp tacos, with the mixed springs. My only complaint is that the serving sizes aren't very large. I left satisfied but not full. A couple of the guys in our party mentioned going to get food after leaving the restaurant with the exception of these who ordered from the dinner menu. Overall, pretty good experience. I would definitely visit again. Oh yeah, we also requested separate checks which was honored without a fuss. Nice service for a large party.

So I have to say, I gave Bonefish 4/5 stars in my last review but this time they get a 2.5 from me. Pros: -Very fast, yet again - we were in around 12:15 and out by 1. Appreciated when you have to get back to work like we did. -The waitress used an iPad to take our orders, normally would be a pro but she seemed not familiarized with the software yet. -Ate lunch outside and they have a very nice outside area. -My salad was very good, as was the dressing. Cons: -The waitress was all over the place. She had a good reason to be - she said her nephew or someone was undergoing surgery that day. However, she spent about 10 minutes taking our order, with the iPad, and then 5 minutes later came back to ask if she took our order. Same with the coupon we were using, we gave it to her, 5 mins later she asked it for us again. -The food: my coworker wanted to order the Lily's chicken wrap, which I had ordered last time, only to be told they didn't have it - the "truck hadn't arrived yet." (what???) -My food, in particular: salad was great and no problems. I did the half salad (which was big, actually) with 2 tacos, 1 chicken and 1 steak. ---- The steak was supposed to be filet mignon, yet was chewy and tough. ---- I ate some salad, then steak taco, then more salad, then chicken taco, and the chicken was COLD. I thought maybe it was how it was supposed to be but my coworker said no, hers had been warm. Can't beat the price since we had a BOGO coupon, but still. If this was my first time at Bonefish I probably wouldn't be back, or at least wouldn't keep it on my radar. I will say their outdoor section is very nice, even though it was very windy out (but it was our choice to sit outside), and there's a couches/chairs section that I bet would be great during happy hour, if they do happy hour. I'd try Bonefish again but like I said, it's not really on my list now. I'm not a fish eater in general but we had been going because of the BOGO coupons.

I have been trying to eat healthier as of late and opted to get the Lily's Chicken dish with no Goat Cheese. Their side item options weren't the best (french fries and carb loaded couscous) and they wanted to charge me extra for a side salad which I felt was absurd so I just stuck with the Chicken. What I got left me pissed off and even hungrier than I was when I arrived. The Chicken, no joke, was smaller than a single Chicken Finger you'd get a Denny's and what added insult to injury was that I paid just over $14.00 for it. As I was on my lunch break and they already were running slow as is, I didn't get a chance to complain to the manager so I will have to call in later today because this just isn't going to fly with me. I am not a stickler, but I expect to get what I pay for. I am fine with "eating the cost" so to speak on opting out of getting a side item, but $14.00 for a gloried grilled Chicken Finger is simply a joke.

Went in there the other night to have dinner at about 9 pm with a friend. I had the Chilean Sea Bass with a salad. Very good! Prepared really well and the waiter, Rasheed, was a very friendly waiter who was very attentive! Great food and great service makes this restaurant a must if you're craving sea food. Not as pretentious as McCormick and Schmick and better service too!

My co-worker invited me to lunch because she had a gift card to use. We sat at the bar. The restaurant wasn't too busy, but they were steady. It didn't really start well. Our bartender was very nice, but she seemed overwhelmed by the few customers she had. Getting a beer was a process. Bell's Oberon was on the menu but not available. Tsk. Tsk. Their beer selection was disappointing. My best option was Stella Artois or Fat Tire. The bartender told us that all of the fish/seafood is flown in daily & always fresh. I ordered the special Lobster Grilled Cheese & fries only to find out they don't serve that until after 4pm. It was listed in the tiniest print & I missed that detail. So, I ordered a lunch combo with the corn chowder & tilapia tacos. My co-worker ordered Ahi Tuna with the chowder, even though it wasn't on the menu. The bartender said it was not a problem. It seemed like eternity before we got our food. A server brought out a bowl of chowder. I didn't know it was for my co-worker, so I ate it. Then, the food came out. The Ahi Tuna was far from pink and smelled fishy. The bartender agreed and told the manager. They went to get her a new cut. The manager came out with a new plate and said they went through 2 other cuts for this & it was on the house. The 2nd dish want much better in regards to color or freshness and it was 1/2 the portion. During all of this, they finally brought out her chowder. Thankfully, she had that to eat because the tuna wasn't good & she was unable to finish it. So, this fresh fish daily must mean after 4p.m. because clearly her tuna was not fresh. My tacos were ok. Not a lot of flavor. The tiny lime wedge was pretty dried out. I wouldn't order them again. This whole process took 90 minutes. 90 minutes for Ahi Tuna & Fish Tacos! The good thing is that the manager comp'd both of our meals, so we just paid for our drinks. It was an expensive lunch though. $5 beers, plus food was over $45 for 2 people. Side note: the floors are slippery. I'm not a big seafood fan & neither is my husband. I don't have 90 minutes for lunch. I don't foresee a return visit.

Been to Bonefish in Kentucky, Ohio and Florida on many occasions and now Troy, Michigan. This time, the wife and I tried something different. We ordered all appetizers for dinner. Bang Bang Shrimp, Ahi Tuna Sashimi, ginger Potstickers and Singapore Calamari. The Ahi Sashimi, Potstickers and Bang Bang are never disappointing however the Calamari was blaw with no taste and too chewy. I have had great Calamari before and it was not at Bonefish. I think the chefs can work on this to make it much better as it was very far from just ok. I have never had a bad meal from bonefish before so I will return and update this review when we try the other dishes at the Troy location. (Calamari will not be a choice on our next outing)

TL;DR: Food was pretty mediocre but service was great! The starter bread is delish, and I highly recommend the Bang Bang Shrimp. My family and I came on a Saturday evening without reservations and got seated within 15 minutes. Our server was EXTREMELY nice, patient, and courteous. He never rushed us, gave us recommendations on food, was very knowledgable about where the food came from, and attentive to our needs. He always refilled our water and brought us bread whenever we asked. The food itself was pretty average. I wasn't impressed given how much I paid. I got the salmon with lemon butter, rice, and broccoli. I liked the broccoli a lot, the salmon was a little overcooked (just a little), and the rice was just average/clumpy. I definitely could have whipped something up like this at home without paying ~$25. The tilapia was also really bland. My favorite dishes of the night were the free bread and the bang bang shrimp. Compared to some of the other restaurants on Big Beaver and around Troy, this isn't my top choice.

Wonderful experience here at this new Bonefish! We were offered bread and pesto (delicious!) while we waited over drinks for the other couple of our double date to arrive. I had the Lily's Chicken, which was delicious. Boyfriend took advantage of Lobster Tuesday and was very happy with his steak and lobster dish. Service was top-notch, great wine selection, yummy bread and pesto, and delicious food! Thank you wonderful experience, and we'll be back.

Very small portions! This place is embarrassing themselves with the portions they serve, especially for the prices they charge. It's to bad too, cause the food tasted good, nice atmosphere and good service. They could use a better selection on the side items. I probably would night be back for dinner maybe would come back for happy hour for drinks and apps.

Atmosphere was nice, but hate that you have to park in the back and walk all the way around the building to enter from the front. We were pretty promptly seated, 5pm on a Sunday. Everyone was very friendly, and our host was attentive. We ordered the ceviche to start, I like it, hubby thought it was just okay. I ordered the seabass grilled with lemon (the small 6 oz portion) and found the portion plentiful, but I felt like it was oily for my taste, but the flavor was great. It came with sugar snap peas, and I got green beans for my side, both of which were glistening in butter- not good for my diet so I didn't eat much of them. My husband got the tuna filet and found the portions to be small, but pretty good. My son got the lamb chops, and those were pretty good and tender- this seemed like the biggest food portion. Overall, was nothing to grab and and make us really want to come back, but it was still good. The 3 entrees with 1 app came to $90. Hubby's complaint was that it was expensive for a little amount of food, I personally just thought everything was greasy.

Had a 8pm reservation met on time. Water was superb. Even had other waiters/waitresses stop and ask if we needed anything. The Chilean sea bass was on point. Small portion but real good. Not a huge fan of fish but this place just inched me closer.

Today I went to lunch with an old co-worker. We have our standard spots in Troy: Kona, Big Beaver Tavern, Baileys, that one Indian Buffet on Rochester Road (??). Anyway, it was nice out and I asked if he had any new spots for patio lunching other than Kona....that was also semi-healthy. He suggested we try Bonefish. I was skeptical as any foodie is when trying another chain restaurant, but have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by the food. Service is another story, I was going to dock a point for our slow service, but I think the server was very new and didn't know how to operate the computerized handheld system yet. Letting it slide. We each ordered a glass of wine....chilled, nice. Decent selection. Don't come here for a good beer though, unless you consider Stella and Fat Tire great beer selection. ;) I had roasted red pepper and tomato soup...it was SO GOOD. Perfectly spicy & tangy and the drizzle of goat cheese + crunchy croutons made it even more delicious. For my entree I ordered the Lily's Salmon which jumped out right away to me. Spinach, artichoke hearts, goat cheese atop a lunch-sized portion (5-6 oz?) of salmon with a crisped outside and tender, medium-rare center. As a side, I opted for the pesto couscous salad. Yummy, fresh and tasted like something I whipped up myself (that's a compliment, Bonefish). My dining partner got the Bang Bang shrimp tacos and seemed very satisfied with his selection, as our food quickly disappeared. Will happily visit again.

What a difference a few months made! We went to Bonefish on Tuesday, 27, because we had a coupon. It was a totally different restaurant. I ordered the ceviche app. and hubby had the bang bang shrimp. They were both fantastic! Hubby had the Tuna steak with Pan Asian sauce and I had the spicy tuna, both fantastic. Our server Matthew was extremely helpful. Before we had a chance to ask, he told us about each dish and how It was prepared. Kudo's to Bonefish for having an extremely decent 'house' chardonnay. The manager stopped by each table. She was very gracious to everyone. We will definitely be back. Great food, enjoyable evening, made even more so by the attentive Matthew. Thanks Bonefish for a most enjoyable evening.

Saw this place opened up a little while ago and figured I'd give it a shot. The food is high quality and priced quite reasonably! I tried most of the appetizers and a couple salads, which all had unique, fresh and delicious taste! The staff is friendly and the Manager Terrell was very polite and accomdating. Highly recommended!
I have always loved Bonefish Grill. My wife and I frequented the establishment when it was located by Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights. The location on Big Beaver was no disappointment. We started with the Bang Bang Shrimp because the dish is simply effing awesome. I really love the Mahi Mahi, blackened, with warm mango salsa. Since this is a seasonal dish and it was not available, I went with the wild-caught king salmon, blackened, with pan Asian sauce. I could not believe how incredibly large the cut of fish was. It seemed like the salmon ate another salmon that was eating another salmon that happened to be taking steroids. For as large as the cut of fish was, it was perfectly cooked. The fish was moist, flaky and tender. I'm drooling while I'm typing this. The jasmine rice was a great compliment to this barbarian-sized meal. The broccoli was coated in butter. I was not quite a fan as I don't encourage the use of butter on veggies...no need to negate the nutritional value of food. Fortunately I was able to dip the broccoli in the pan Asian sauce and it worked out as well as the casting of Heath Ledger as the Joker. I was really pleased with the flavor. Bonefish is a tad pricey. My dish was around $23. After drinks, appetizer, my wife's entree and tip, we spent somewhere around $75. It was happy hour so our drinks were discounted. I think the price was great considering the amount of awesome food we decimated. The staff was incredibly friendly and our waitress was great. If you dig food and you value what your taste buds have to say, this place has your back. ~ pickle

I like Bonefish, I haven't been to this one before but to one in Florida. We actually happened to come in and it was Troy Restaurant Week! Nice. . Three course meal and dessert to share. The good: Bang bang shrimp was delicious. My partner loved the tilapia. The sides were good as well. The potatoes, yummy and the veggie side was like a succotash. The potstickers were okay, a little bland. The key lime pie was to die for. The bad: the service was not good. We got bread as soon as we sat down. We got wine around the same time our soups came. We got water after the soup and wine. The server never cleared, not one dish. The dirty dishes from everything we ate sat on the table until the bitter end. He rarely checked on us and we had to ask other servers for water and to-go boxes. We also had to to drink our wine sparingly because we didn't know when or if he would come back. Nice guy but bad sever. The chicken he suggested to me was terrible. Apparently it is very popular but I didn't like it at all. Chicken with goat cheese, artichokes and tomatoes or red peppers I don't remember. The chicken was dry and the goat cheese was enough for two meals, totally overpowering. I would go back because I usually enjoy the food but if I got the same server I would change seats. I would not want him again.

We went on a Saturday evening and service was ridiculously slow. We waited over 40+ minutes from ordering dinner to receiving our entrees. There were 2 managers on site that day and 1 came by to apologize. She gave us free appetizer cards and let us know dessert was on the house for the delay. She made some excuse about there being confusion in the kitchen. I asked her if we could just get a discount on the bill instead of the appetizer cards and she said that would be fine and that she would take 20% off. When the waitress came by we ordered our desserts. Once the bill arrived, all of the desserts were on the bill! We asked a waiter going by if he could get our waitress to come by. She was by one of the computers where we could see the 2nd waiter let her know. She didn't even come by and just went into the kitchen!! 5 minutes passed by and we went up to the hostess stand to get our bill fixed. The 2nd manager came by and said dessert wasn't free because we got the discount. She was arguing with us, I couldn't believe my eyes!! When we asked her for the 1st manager she said "I sent her home". 10 seconds later, the 1st manager walks up to us and confirmed the discount and the free desserts. 2 hours later we finally got out of there! It was one of the WORST experiences of my life. The staff was horrible and I have never seen a "manager" behave so unprofessionally as that lady!!! My family and I will NEVER return to this place again! There are much better seafood restaurants that have both better food and service - try Mitchell's Fish Market for instance.

Third trip: unfortunately reinforced the second trip. Slow to refill glasses. The shrimp and scallops were not impressive. The zucchini side was really small. They didn't trim the ends off the string beans. Crab cakes were still good. I think they just lost a couple of stars. Second trip: brought my brother's family, sister's family and parents. Service was lousy. They brought the wrong food they spilled food on my wife and a second time on the floor. I'll leave the five stars and write this one off to staff in training although my sister, brother and parents all said they would have preferred Red Lobster. First trip: Not disappointed. 5 stars Good lumpy crab cakes. Tokyo tuna was amazing with a nice crust. The soy sauce was saltier than normal soy sauce but wasn't needed. Chilean sea bass was delicious. Good flavor.

Meh! This place is the most expensive mediocre restaurant I've ever been to. And to add insult to injury, the portions are ridiculously small. We ordered the calamari appetizer and laughed when it came out. It was small especially for 10 bucks. The mahi sandwich was ok, but didn't think it warranted the $15 price tag. We also ordered fish tacos. I was not a fan of the flour/corn tortilla and it was dripping with some mystery oil. Ewwww. And it was $17. Our lunch for a family of 4 was almost $80 and it was nothing special. Don't think I will ever return.

All around good restaurant dining experiences are few and far between for me, so when I actually have one, I feel I compelled to help spread the word. We (husband, teenage son & 6 year old) took my mother out to brunch on Sunday at 11:30AM. The interior was very nice with textured faux finish walls and warm wood trim. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Not only was our server Courtney very pleasant, she was also able to answer our questions about the corporate background of Bonefish Grill. My husband and I ordered the Fish of the Day, Mahi-Mahi - one with mango salsa and the other with herb pesto off of their Gluten-Free menu. I loved the fact that they had a "real" GF menu with a decent selection. Both sauces were wonderful. My mother ordered the chilean sea bass. All our fish dishes were cooked just right. My boys ordered the children's popcorn shrimp and the Kobe burger. The shrimp was crispy, hot, and not greasy. The portion was also a decent size. The Kobe burger was cooked medium well. It probably would've been better if it had be medium rare. The server did not ask, so make sure you specify when ordering. The portions and prices are consistent with a typical high end seafood restaurant. If you're looking for large portions and cheap prices, this is not the place for you. Last but not least, they surprised us a gluten-free flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and whipped cream for my mother's birthday. It was absolutely delicious! The food, service, and atmosphere were all great, so we will definitely come back again!

Service was great, they gave me chocolates for my birthday, and the chocolate creme brulee was FABulous!- but everything else was just so-so. The filets were thin and there were only four shrimp in my fettuccine. For the $, we could have done better I think.

I started off with the Bang Bang Shrimp and it was delicious. My main meal was the scallops and shrimp with lemon butter sauce which was fantastic and flavorful. The staff was very nice and attentive. I will be going back.

Too little for too much and that is all that I need to say but I will go on. What is wrong with this place you can't leave with out dropping nearly $40.00 buck, OK but that's not the issue your plate is only half full. Don't think your going get a meal its a snack. The food is OK but you have to go get dinner after eating in this place. WOW. Sorry to rant but let"s get something for our money. Please!

Came here for lunch on a weekday and was underwhelmed. We had the bang bang shrimp appetizer which was great - the sauce had a nice kick to it. For the entree we ordered the salmon and the walleye with mango salsa (fish of the day). The salmon was a little dry and goat cheese was overpowering. The walleye was bland. It came with Asian slaw which was really heavy on the vinegar and pesto cous cous which was okay. I looked around and a lot of tables ordered dishes with fried foods (fish n chips, shrimp tacos) that looked good, but fried seafood shouldn't be the go to menu items in a fish restaurant. I'm sure some other menu items will hold up and make it not a bad lunch spot but go somewhere else if you're looking for seafood.
The bang bang shrimp here is the best! I would definitely recommend ordering a dish that includes it. I like how a lot of the dishes come with your option of fresh greens or fruit. Portion sizes are generous. The bread that they give you is warm and the pesto/olive oil dip goes great with it! My personal favorite dish here is the bang bang tacos.

We've eaten here a few times since they opened and enjoyed the service and food. Tonight we were out and decided to go again and tried to call ahead for seating. We were told they don't have call ahead seating and the wait was 15 minutes. Upon arrival we saw dozens (literally) of empty tables throughout the restaurant and patio but were told they were for people with reservations at 6:00PM. We put our name's on the waiting list but thought it odd with so many open tables. There is a Carrabba's 3 buildings down so we called and got seated immediately when we walked down. Maybe it's me but I think Bonefish might want to rethink their seating policy. So much for a spur of the moment eating decision. BTW, Carrabba's was excellent as usual.

Loved it!! I went with a group for lunch and every one of us couldn't get over how delicious the food was! The service was outstanding & the atmosphere is very modern & cozy. If you're looking for a great place on Big Beaver, try Bonefish! You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I sat at the bar. Colin took care of us. He was an amazing bartender. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp and Calamari to start. Both were amazingly delicious and good portions. We then order the Chicken for dinner to share because we had a few Oberon's. The Chicken was so amazing. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful. It was topped with melted goat cheese and artichoke. We had a side salad too, which was wonderful with a little Florida flare added with the Hearts of Palm. We also ordered a burger for carry out for my son. When we arrived home, he chowed down. It was perfectly cooked and a good size burger. The fries were delicious too. We will definitely be back and I appreciate great service by a wonderful bartender. Thanks Colin, you made our dining experience so much better. I love great service. P.S. The floors are slippery, which is weird b/c my husband told me to be careful on my way to the ladies room after he almost had a slip and fall.

Dinner for two on Friday night at 8:30pm...only a 5 min wait was most likely due to the bad weather. Service was excellent. Our server, Danny, was enthusiastic without being annoying. She gets extra points for remembering "water, no ice" and refilling it as well. Crab cakes were tasty and were prepared with little breading allowing the flavor and texture of the crab to shine! Fettuccine with shrimp was also tasty. Areas for improvement: - caesar salad was over dressed - shrimp was slightly overcooked (but had a great flavor) - garlic whipped potatoes were...meh Overall, a great experience and we will definitely go back.

I like Bornfish Grill. We used to go to Novi location before they opened Troy. Great and friendy service, and manager stopped by to make sure we are happy about all. I recall they used to have small portion of most entre at Novi. Wish they start it again.

I had the mussels as an appetizer and they give you quite a bit. I also has the fish tacos for the very first time and they were great. There is something spicy about them - the waitress said it was the mango salsa. You cant even tell that its tilapia.

The food and drinks are great, but the layout is terrible. You can't get your car close to the entrance so if it's raining, plan on getting soaked. It's a very long walk from your car to the only entrance on the front of the building. Service is outstanding! Colin and Latisha behind the bar keep us coming back!

Sadly I am writing a bad review for this place :( I hate to do this because I've worked in restaurants for years and I know what it's like but I feel that tonight's experience was pretty bad! Today is father's day so I made a reservation for 6 people. The hostess said the soonest we could be seated was 930. Kinda late but I said ok. We got there and the place was totally empty. Literally 1 other table was seated. I found that pretty odd. Well anyway we ordered 2 appetizers - calamari and bang bang shrimp. The calamari came out first with no sauce. It was also dry and pretty flavorless. We asked our waiter if there was supposed to be a sauce and he said yea but they ran out.... ok..... the bang bang shrimp came out next and was definitely microwaved. The pieces on the top were scalding hot while towards the bottom of the plate they were cold and tasted kind of undercooked. Our meals were ok except I ordered salmon with the herb pesto sauce and was given sea bass in a pool of oil with some pesto thrown on top. I told our server this isn't salmon so he took it back and had the correct order made. However by the time it came out the rest of my party was done eating. Also, my mom found a hair in her fish :( the server went to get his manager who was very unpleasant and acted as if we were bothering her. She did however comp my mom's meal. When we got the bill I was charged for the sea bass that I never even ordered. We had to have them correct that as well. All in all the place is ok but we were very unhappy and will never go back to this location.

Three of us ate here Saturday night. Called ahead and they were booked for reservations so good idea to call a day ahead if you are planning on weekend dinning. When we arrived we were told there was a hour wait but the community tables in the bar were first come first serve and you can dine there if you wish. We immediately got a seat and really enjoyed the company of our table mates so decided to turn in the pager and eat there. We all ordered different fish dishes and everyone's was amazing! Our server was Colin P. and he did a wonderful job, very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. I hate nothing worse then to get a bad server and Colin was one of the best servers I have had.

It was our first (and probably last) time there. The food wasn't bad. It was a bit bland and we all tried samplings from each other's dishes (all seafood dishes). And I don't think you should have to fry your food for flavoring. The service was not good at all which is reason enough not to go back. The hostess seemed bored to be there, almost as though we were inconveniencing her and our server didn't know the menu enough and took long in getting to us. He also never checked on us so we "borrowed" another server to help us get refills and the check. The restaurant was half full at the time so they can't blame it on a rush of patrons. I gave it three stars since the company was good and it wasn't an awful experience.

Carryout is very poor. I tried to order a lobster roll on Lobster Tuesday as take out and they refused to sell it to me, saying I needed to dine in. I had been a loyal customer but they lost my future business. Customer satisfaction is obviously not a key objective at this restaurant.

I'll start by saying I LOVE bonefish grille's food, I really do. That's the only reason they even get three stars. I've been to a few different locations but the service at this one is consistently terrible. Our first time was ok, it took a while to figure out who our server was but once we did, she was great. And they gave us a free order of mussels to compensate. The second time was terrible. It was a Monday holiday and when we got there at 6 the restaurant was empty but they told us it would be an hour wait for the servers to come in. We decided to sit at the bar and then found out they had the bartender running three tables in the main dining room AND tending bar. The poor guy was really great at trying to keep up, but come on. Asking your bartender to serve tables in the main dining room means he's going to get crap tips from all his bar patrons AND his tables. After that experience we were turned off, but in honor of the food we gave it another try with friends. Again- service terrible. We got there early and ordered drinks that took almost 30 minutes to find their way to the table. They left our dirty appetizer plates on the table as they served our dinner and then we waited twenty minutes for the check. I can't say any of this was a single servers' fault, I know bonefish uses separate food and drink runners and they SHOULD have bus boys/girls, but it seems like the whole thing is either too overwhelmed or not well orchestrated.

Don't waste your money or time at Bonefish Grill! We had reservations to celebrate a graduation at 7pm today, Sunday. I'm just going to list things... They didn't have the proper ingredients to make one of their signature drinks! The lemonade was so sweet it couldn't be consumed. The strawberry daiquiri came without strawberries. The pineapple martini was pretty good but the pineapple wedge was brown, dry and unappetizing. The waitressing (there were 2) was the worst I have experienced. They never refilled coffee, water or beverages. They only cleared dirty dishes when I complained. One had a bad attitude from the get go. We finally got bread but it was three small loaves for 14 people. We had to ask for more and got one more loaf... no butter. It took 45 minutes to get appetizers that were mediocre- rubbery calamari, bang bang shrimp covered in thousand island dressing and cold- Corn chowder was ok. We waited 1hour and 20 minutes for food to come out yayyyy. ..OOPS we got 4 dinners then nothing. 20 minutes later we get a few more. Then they stopped coming. It turns out that they had sent one meal to the wrong table and the waitresses never noticed that not everyone had food. It took 2 complaints to the manager..one to get any food, the other to get food for everyone. Now for the food- they ran out of sirloin, one filet minion was very undercooked while one overcooked, one tilapia was inedible and returned while one was way overcooked, The salmon was overcooked and dry. Portion sizes were very small. No water refills, no coffee refills, cream for coffee came in a tiny amount to be shared between everyone. We got there at 7 and finally escaped at 10:15. That's a whole lot of sitting and waiting and waiting and waiting for poor, overpriced food and terrible service. I will not return, ever!

My wife and I decided to go here for dinner a few weeks ago since we had a $25 gift card. My wife is gluten free and we heard that they had a gluten free menu. As we walked in, the host staff were all joking around about something and kind of just looked at us at fIrst. Our waitress was nice and explained the menus to us. My wife ordered the filet mignon with a ceasar salad and I ordered the rainbow trout. The salad came, but she also got the side of the day. We explained that we did not order it and wanted to know if it was gluten free. The waitress and another staff member could not tell us. Now, this place has a gluten free menu and their staff are ignorant about what is and what is not gluten free? Not a good sign. We sent it back because the side was touching her steak, which is a huge no no. The manager came out and explained to my wife that the side was gluten free and almost seemed to be scolding her. Overall, not a great experience. The seating was cramped. I don't like to sit right next to people I don't know. It was way too loud. And it was way too expensive. Our bill came to $52. I thought I would have to pay a little bit over the gift card, but that much for food quality I could get at Applebee's? That's a stretch. This place is overrated and I will never go there again.

I was very excited to try this place out and excited that it was going to be with a couple friends I don't get to have dinner with very often. In my Opinion, if a restaurant knows that their air conditioner is broken, they should be upfront with the customers when they come in to be seated. I know that by doing this, they might lose business. But it would also show that their customers are their top priority and not just making money. Even though yesterday was pretty much our first nice day, it made for a very uncomfortable dinner. I felt like I didn't get to really enjoy my food because I was too busy sweating. I can only imagine how the staff felt as they all had long sleeves on and busting their butts. Unfortunately the restaurant lost money on us as well because we ended up not staying longer and chatting. We all just wanted to get out of there so we could cool down. Word to the wise to this restaurant and others, be up front and honest. I don't plan on going back.

We decided to try Bonefish again after a decent meal there shortly after they opened a few months ago. Unfortunately, things have definitely gone downhill since then. We got there early, around 4:30 and they weren't that busy, but since we had no reservations were told there would be a 10-15 minute wait -- No problem. Well, 1/2 hour later, I finally went to the hostess stand and the gal mumbled something about 'maybe another 5 minutes....' After another 1/2 hour with no word, we finally just left; there were others complaining too, so it wasn't just us. During the entire hour, they offered seats in the bar area to others that were waiting, but they never offered this to us -- we just stood there the whole time with no place to sit. There must have been 5 people at the hostess station but none of them seemed to know what they were doing. Never again -- there are too many other good restaurants we can choose from where we won't be treated like this.

First visit. I made a reservation on the way to DTE in Clarkston. Using their mobile site to book was very easy and gave me a chance to look over the menu. We were promptly seated in a booth and noticed that most tables seemed to be celebrating birthdays. We should have sat in the bar with the rest of the grumps, for a quicker and quieter experience. The Bang Bang shrimp is popular and lives up to the hype. It's a cross between buffalo wings and popcorn shrimp, but with a bit of a creamy twist to the sauce. A little spicy and very addicting. Corn chowder with lump crab was exceptional. Great flavors, and good portion. A hint of heat in this bowl really made the flavors come together. My hubs had a burger and he said it was good. The waitress didn't listen very well. We had to keep reminding her for refills or to get the check so we could go. I'll be back again for the food but perhaps try the Novi location next time.

(5)Tom h.

(5)Tamara K.

(4)Regina F.

Just don't do it. Has to be a better local place for seafood - I'll keep looking

The special sauce they use with their calamari is excellent. I ordered the trout with grilled zucchini and jasmine rice. It was a good meal. A little pricey though.

Apertizer quality is good. The Bangbang shrimp is a must try. Good value esp. When theu have promotion coupon.

The sea bass melts in your mouth...love the martini's...great atmosphere, we will be back

If it's anything that I really miss from living on the west coast, it is the abundance of fresh seafood. Bonefish Grill provides a nice alternative to that absence when we're really craving it. We came on a Saturday over Hearts Day weekend, and arrived around 5:15pm. The place was packed!! We were pretty surprised at the turn out, but quickly remembered that it was because of Hearts Day. Immediately as you enter, there was a nice gentleman facilitating the line ups and reservations. We didn't have any reservations, but did remember at the other Bonefish Grill location in Novi that bar seating was a first-come, first-serve basis. This location's bar area is a lot smaller, and the seating is pretty cramped, but we didn't mind. Alternatively, there are high top tables behind the middle row bar seats and main bar that provide more space. However, you will have to fight for them like hawks! We ended up sitting in the middle aisle with the narrow seating arrangements, and there was another couple to our left and right. If you're down to be a social butterfly, this is the perfect area for you. :) It didn't take too long for us to decide on our choices, and our waitress was sweet and upbeat. We went with our favorite appetizer: Mussels Josephine ($10.70). 1 lb. of sweet, smooth, and tender goodness in each order, this appetizer is the same portion as what we received in Novi. Definitely enough for two to share, and for 1 person as an entrée. I'd have to say that execution was BETTER than the last one we had at Novi because the chopped red onions, tomatoes, and sauce were more in balance. The flavors worked very well and nothing was overpowering. Even the sauce had the right kick from the samboca romana, which can often be overwhelming. The complimentary bread they give you is perfect to sop up all the wonderful sauce. For entrées, we shared the Baja Fish Tacos ($13), and Wild Mahi Mahi ($19.80). Out of the two, the fish tacos trumped the mahi mahi. Portion balance of fish to cabbage, and pico de gallo and tortillas was spot on. Every bite had each of the taco elements, and they were fresh and springy. Great seasoning. The delicate nature of the simple mixed greens with lemon vinaigrette was the right combination with it. You have a choice of french fries or house chips, but I found this to be the right fit if you want a lighter experience. Mahi mahi had nice flavor and seasoning, but portion size was pretty skimpy for the price. For $19.80, I expected to get more than a 4-oz. piece. If this is the full portion, what is the small, 2 oz.? That's outrageous. In addition to that, the chickpea salad was very skimpy too. Beans aren't expensive, so they should be more generous with that. We chose the potatoes au gratin as the side, and it resembled cheesy potatoes; not what we were expecting, but it was tasty. Considering that it was super busy and loud when we went, service was swift and collected. Our waitress was very hospitable and kept a good pace for dinner. We were in and out of there within an hour. In any case, we'll be back from time to time, and recommend making reservations to avoid a wait.

Here's yet another delicious place... for happy hour. $3 glasses of delicious wine and food specials such as Lobster Tuesday made me quite the happy gal. Here's the way to go: Have one friend order an entrée (the Imperial is a favorite! Tilapia and crab made 'piccata style'), and the other friend orders the delicious specials of the day. The Lobster roll sandwich was perfect with huge chunks of lobster in a lemon sauce (though the second time I ordered, it seemed downsized). Get quality, but cheap, glasses of happy hour wine. And enjoy! **PS: there is one more reason to go during happy hour and not on a busy Saturday night. The pretentious Troy clientele (i.e. Stepford wives straight from Wisteria Lane) were in full swing, and they hovered over us at our bar spot, talking too loud and getting too close, trying to persuade us to hurry up so they could have a spot. The whole experience was too expensive and annoying, and we left unhappy for the first time. Follow my advice and you'll agree that it's a 'better than average' seafood restaurant chain.

We decided to try this place since I had been driving by and wondered how the food might be. We had no expectations; good or bad and the menu and appearance of the place lead us to believe that this was going to be a "middle of the road" experience. However, we were pleasantly surprised. It is a fish restaurant for sure. While they had steaks on the menu, ordering meat here is probably not the best selection. My wife and I both ordered the larger portion of the swordfish, but with different side dishes. I have to say, the food was great! The swordfish arrived with nice grill marks and it tasted as if it had been cooked on a wood fire. It was cooked exactly as it should be and not underdone or dried out, The flesh was moist and flavorful. The side dishes and the garnishes we selected were terrific too. I had the au gratin potatoes and a mango chutney garnish served on the side. The plate also came with some stir fried veggies that were quite tasty, My wife had the whipped potatoes as her side and she commented that they were good too. The décor is nothing fancy, but it is pleasant and not too noisy. The service was spectacular and our server was pleasant and accommodating. When we paid, she gave us two coupons for BOGO lunch and I am sure we will use them. The price for the two large portioned swordfishes at dinner was around $ 40.00 including the side dishes. That was one of the more expensive items on the menu. There were much cheaper options available too. Parking was convenient in a private lot behind the restaurant. My wife and I both commented that it seemed a shame that there is not entrance to the restaurant from the parking lot, as instead we had to walk around the side of the building to get to the entrance up front where there is no possible parking. We will be back.

(4)Eve S.

(5)Jason W.
Very impressed with this restaurant; the overall quality of the food is at a very high level. Staff are friendly and very accommodating. Fish was very fresh and beautifully presented. Deserts were great too :)

(4)Corey B.
Nice inside, good service, very polite.. Food was OK- had the fish tacos, and they just seemed to fall apart. I ended up eating my taco with a fork.
(3)Rob E.
First time at this place but I do have to say I was impressed with the food. For a chain the steak was very good.
(3)Abe S.
The best seafood hands down. I've been to both locations and both are incredible I would highly recommend this spot. Great service great staff everything you could ask for in a night out.
(5)Jessica X.
(3)Amy H.
(5)Paul A.
(3)Karina K.
(3)Robert E.

We've visited this location multiple times on Thursday evenings, usually without an appointment. They're usually booked, ;but there is an open bar area which always has some seating. Bang bang shrimp is to die for... The seasonal pumpkin ravioli is a must try and so is their pumpkin crème brulé. We also had the spicy tuna bowl, it was delicious and very fresh. The wines are really cold which was a little disappointing. Great ambience, good service and good quality fresh seafood! Recommended!

(3)Julia C.

My friends and I visited this restaurant about a week after it opened on a Friday night. It was packed. The wait was about a half an hour, but it was so very worth it in the end. They also take reservations, but you need to make them at least a day in advance I would say. We sat at the bar while we waited, the bar staff was exceptional. They introduced themselves and the drinks were great. I would highly suggest the hypnotic martini. The waitress came by to grab our drinks about a minute after we had been seated, the only thing I didn't like was that she didn't bring all of us water, which is pretty standard in most restaurants upon seating or shortly after. In this case, we had to ask for it. We were starving so we decided to order fairly quickly, we did see some bread roaming around and we had to ask for that too. It came with a really great oil dip. It didn't take too long for the food to come considering how packed it was, perhaps 15-20 minutes. We ordered a kobe burger, lily's chicken, and the tilapia with the pan asian sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious, I have never tasted grilled fish at a restaurant that tasted so good. Usually it is not seasoned well, here the sauce really hit the spot. To finish off the night, we ordered a creme brûlée to share, it was devoured within minutes. It wasn't enough for three of us for sure, we should have ordered a second dessert to share. But we each got a taste of it and it was nice. Overall, I have to say that this restaurant is amazing, from the food to the superb customer service, I will definitely be returning and suggesting this restaurant for many events to come. Happy Eating!

Just found this place and the food and service was amazing!! The crap cakes were great and the bartender was very friendly. I would recommend this to my friends, colleagues, and even worst enemy!

Fantastic experience. Great service. Excellent grilled fish. Went in with my family for the Sunday brunch. Had grilled tilapia and bang bang shrimp. Excellent menu for non fish eaters as well

I like Bornfish Grill. We used to go to Novi location before they opened Troy. Great and friendy service, and manager stopped by to make sure we are happy about all. I recall they used to have small portion of most entre at Novi. Wish they start it again.
(4)Crystal H.
I had the mussels as an appetizer and they give you quite a bit. I also has the fish tacos for the very first time and they were great. There is something spicy about them - the waitress said it was the mango salsa. You cant even tell that its tilapia.
(5)Josh B.

(5)Sandra v.
(3)Mark T.
Carryout is very poor. I tried to order a lobster roll on Lobster Tuesday as take out and they refused to sell it to me, saying I needed to dine in. I had been a loyal customer but they lost my future business. Customer satisfaction is obviously not a key objective at this restaurant.
(1)Jackie P.
(3)Lisa B.
Food was very good...but service was rushed...especially near the end of the meal. Probably won't go back!:(

(3)Carol S.
