We had a very large party (18 people) for a late breakfast yesterday. Even on a busy Sunday they were able to accommodate us. The staff was very friendly and the food was good! Sometimes with a large party in a small place like this they get overwhelmed, but our waitress did a great job and still managed to wait on other tables too besides us!

I could have sworn I've reviewed this place before.... Lisa, indri, Ella, and Alex are all so nice and treat their regulars well! You can usually find me here on Sunday mornings for my usual: Alex's famous club and chili fries! Yummm! I've tried just about everything on their menu and I have to admit, everything here is very very good! Lemon rice soup with a twist of lemon is one of my favorites as well. They get very busy on the weekends for breakfast and lunch so be warned! They also have weird closing times to keep that in mind as well :) I highly recommend this place if you're ever in the area!

Stopped by this place on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Fast and friendly service and really good food. Pancakes had plump blueberries and the bacon was excellent. Will definitely be back here.

I stopped in here for breakfast this morning and was pleasantly surprised. I live nearby but have never stopped in. The menu has such great variety that I will be back to try more items. My breakfast was served hot and just the way I wanted it. The wait staff was very kind and attentive. The prices are reasonable. So glad I tried Alex's!

Great diner. I have been here several times for lunch. The Greek salad with chicken is always very good and plentiful. The servers are always friendly and efficient. Great lunch spot, (I have only been at lunch time, but I'm sure breakfast and dinner would be just as good).

Alex's is the definition of Detroit Coney. Nice waitresses with thick accents, good consistent food, and fast service. I eat here a few days a week due to the convenient location. They know me by name and know my order. My greek pita is always warm and fresh with the perfect amount of beets, tomatoes, feta and lettuce. The pickle is also always delicious.

Great local grill/diner, and will probably be my lunch place of choice around that area. What I like most about this place is the feeling that they really care about their customers. We came here to get some take-out lunch (a Reuben sandwich), and I was impressed by the thoughtfulness of the staff. Little things like: - Packing my Thousand Island dressing in a separate container, so that I could get a steaming hot sandwich AND my chilled dressing to go. - Putting the pickle spear away from the hot fries. - Getting me my drink first, so that I could have something while waiting for my food. As already mentioned, they have a full menu with salads, sandwiches, burgers, and dogs. My sandwich was really good, with stacks and stacks of meat. Not quite Onion Roll quality, but really darn close, and anyone's who been to the Onion Roll can appreciate that compliment. The portions are huge. My friend got a chicken salad enough for 2-3 meals for $8. My sandwich was $6, and I could not finish the whole thing plus fries.

My father and I come here for breakfast when I am in town and it always puzzles me that its not very busy. Nestled in a corner shopping plaza next to Powerhouse Gym and CJ Mahoneys Bar, Alex's Royal Grill serves a full American breakfast menu, pitas/gyros and burgers/sandwiches. Its a typical Greek Coney Island fare/ prices. I would much rather come here than Coney Island, its not very busy, parking is easy and the waitstaff are quick. I have noticed some pleasing specials such as their potato pancakes with meat. So far we have only ordered traditional breakfast and been satisfied, they are pretty quick ! I had Alex's Texas Burger which was pretty good too. I think they have an early dinner menu also. Next time you are headed to crowded Coney or Old Port Inn, give this place a chance, they seem to be pretty new, I will keep going here :)

I really like this place. I go here a lot for lunch. Both eating in and carry out are great. The staff is polite, the prices are good, and the food is very good with a diverse menu. I like that I can get breakfast at 4pm if I feel like it.

It's a diner. With huge portions and really good prices. Come here for breakfast and you will not be disappointed. The coffee was okay, but my egg white veggie omelette was awesome. Some places totally skimp, but it was packed with broccoli, mushrooms, peppers... Service was really friendly. There was always someone walking around with hot coffee and asking if we needed anything. Breakfast for two with coffee was $17 before tip. Not a swanky brunch place, just good food and service!
