Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I have been eating at China fair for the last 20 years, regardless of some of the negative reviews China fair is an exceptional place to eat, the lunch and dinner buffets are fantastic and the selection huge, they have a very good desert bar to boot. The owner Michael makes several strolls through the restaurant greeting patrons and asking them how the food is. if you don't like something he personally makes it right so you leave happy. I highly recommend China fair to anyone visiting Traverse City.

A last-minute recommendation from a patron leaving China Fair as we were about to walk in was not enough to wash away the reality that this is a very average Chinese restaurant. We are not big buffet fans, and after a quick walk by China Fair's buffet I was reminded why. The dishes looked tired and uninspiring, typical of buffet-fare. We ordered from the menu. The Egg Drop Soup was an odd dark orange color and had so much corn starch that it was almost like jelly, but to make it worse, it was served cold! We sent it back to be re-heated, which was obviously done in a microwave. The Chicken Chow Mein and Sweet and Sour Pork were executed better and were served hot and fresh. Although, both were just average. The atmosphere is dark and a little depressing. It looks as though the place has not been touched since the 70s.

Buffet was Terrible. Food had been sitting out too long! Literally appalled that this places was so highly recommended by several locals. Don't waste your time.

be careful who you believe on this one. Eva J. is a former employee who wasn't smart enough to handle a basic delivery job. Let us not even mention her utter snobbery. The food is some of the best you will get in TC. Some people wrongly expect city style menu selection in this small town gem. Enjoy the fact that they employ reliable people who are pleased with their work. The hot and sour soup is great. Molly, Henry and Pearl make it a worthwhile stop.

China Fair has great, friendly staff. We are sat almost immediately every time we go. The portions are perfect and delicious. They also are great at helping people with food allergies like myself. I have never had a problem eating at China Fair even with my Celiac disease. The shrimp fried rice is my favorite dish. My other favorite dishes include vegetable soup, egg rolls (not GF), buffett noodles (not GF), lettuce wraps, and chicken fried rice. My husband enjoys the egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken, or honey chicken. I highly recommend China Fair to anyone.

I've been here a couple times for lunch buffet. I think it's better than King's Buffet even though there aren't many food choices compared to King's. Butterfly shrimp is very good! Make sure that you get a chance to taste it because it will run out at no time : )

I cant believe I am reviewing a Chinese Buffet....LOLZ Anyway, we went here after a family member had passed due to tradition. I havent been to a Chinese Buffet in like 10 years...seriz It was delish Lots of selection Pretty damn good food for buffet I even tried the sushi and it wasnt bad If you are looking for a pretty damn HUGE buffet, this is not too shabby. I liked it. I would say definitely greasy, gross and delish all at the same time...if you know what I mean.

I've been to this place a couple times now and they do a really good job when it comes to buffet style eating. Someone in the back knows how to cook squid and that's no joke. They have Sushi on ice that's pretty decent (California Rolls). For 15 bucks a person its really good food. They grill their green beans and have fresh made soups to boots...Imma huge fan.
