Quality Food. Quiet Place. So far the best quality Chinese in the area. Decent portions and prices. Not really a place for a younger crowd. More of a family atmosphere. The decor is dated but very well maintained. And the staff is very personable.

Good food but a little pricy, always check your carry-out.... Note to the owners: a remodel and or top to bottom cleaning is a must!!! The only problem with the appearance is pride... if the place looked like the food tastes this place would be packed all day long.... just saying...

This was my first time here. It reminded me of a place I used to go to as s kid. It's decor has obviously not changed over the years but there is something comforting about it. I got the beef Szechuan and it was delicious. A little saucy but a huge portion and a nice side of fried rice. The male waiter is super awesome so hope for him!

Love this place! When I moved downriver, I tried almost every Chinese restaurant in the area. This is the only one that gets my business. The food is great. Reasonably priced. You get hefty portions. We do both carry out or dine in. My fav is chicken broccoli or vegetarian szechuan. You can get in varying degrees of spiciness. I like medium.

This place is a dump!!!! It's old and very outdated and dirty looking . Served cold food and didn't even try to compensate for it . Beware !

I've been coming here for over 10 years with my family. The decor may be dated but the food is always good and the portions are big enough to share or take home left-overs. I also think the quality of the meat (chicken, beef, etc) are superior to most other Chinese restaurants. The staff has always been pleasant as well.

I'll piggy-back off of Allison's review and say that everything she wrote is completely accurate. In addition: The fried rice was bad. No flavor, dry, and lukewarm. The sauce on the General's chicken was good, but I found a couple fatty/gristly pieces that grossed me out. Yeah, we won't be back. Ever.

Three years ago I would have rated four or five stars. No more. Service is substandard and food is only okay. There are better choices to get your Chinese fix...

This place is completely underwhelming and overrated. First off, the decor... THE HORROR. It's styled straight out of the early 90s and has obviously never been remodeled. It's this disgusting soft pink and baby blue... it makes for an awkward meal. The place also seems dirty, because it just feels so old and gross in there. After the initial shock of thinking I walked back in time, I looked over the menu. It's pretty extensive. Of course, my true test of a Chinese place is their sweet and sour chicken. If it passes that test, I might come back and order something more daring. I got chicken rice soup with my order. Jacob ordered the General Tso's chicken with wonton soup. My soup was bad. There were bits of (what I am only assuming was) chicken lunch meat sprinkled on top of very little broth and way too much rice. I spooned all the lunch meat out and ate a bit of the soup. I couldn't finish it because I could only wonder what kind of meat that was they put in the soup. Jacob said the wontons in his soup were too doughy. He didn't eat much of it. My egg roll was okay. I felt it could have been served to me much hotter, because it was lukewarm by the time it got to the table. They don't have plum sauce on the table like most Chinese restaurants do, so I asked for some from our waiter. The waiter didn't come back until about 7 minutes later and by that time most of my egg roll was gone. The menu said they make their own plum sauce. It was really delicious but I wish they kept some on the table so I didn't have to wait. The sweet and sour chicken is really hard to describe. I know for sure that I didn't like it. The sauce looked like the traditional pink/orange sauce but it definitely didn't taste the same. It was VERY sour and hard to stomach. The chicken seemed good, if not a little too dry. The rice was very sticky but tasted fine. But overall, I didn't eat much of it. The sauce was just bad. It's as if I asked the waiter for sweet and sour chicken, minus the sweet. Additionally, the meal was also lukewarm. I'm not sure if the waiter or the kitchen is to blame, but I like my food served to me fresh and hot! Jacob wasn't feeling his General Tso's because everything else about the place didn't sit well with him. It was also lukewarm around the edges but everything in the middle of the platter was hot. I tasted his and thought it was yummy... definitely better than what I ordered. Either way, he didn't eat much of it. Ugh. Jacob and I decided we were done with this meal about 5 minutes after the main dish came out. We didn't wait for the bill or our fortune cookies and just went to the front counter. We paid and will never be back.

I wouldn't recommend this joint to an enemy! As soon as I walked in I felt a little dirty, like I needed to wash my hands. As other reviewers have mentioned, the decor is awful, dingy, and just plain raunchy! The only reason I didn't walk out is because my mom really had a taste for Chinese and we were pressed for time. Rather than judge a book by its cover, I gave in and had a seat. The waitress came over, I suspect she may also be the owner, and she was sweet as pie. I felt a little more at ease because she was very warm and friendly. That is Until the food came! It was atrocious! It tasted old and possibly even spoiled. I chewed a piece and spit it out on my napkin. It was so gross! My mother ate a little bit of her food, probably because she was so hungry, but then turned to me and said " I'm sorry it wasn't this bad when I came here years ago". So obviously this place has gone downhill. Don't eat here. There are better options. I am not a food snob by any stretch of the imagination. I will eat just about any kind of food. This food was not fresh!

My Dad insisted we go here after I told him I was craving chinese, he claimed this was "the best chinese he's ever had". Maybe he hyped it up a bit too much, but there was nothing I liked about my food. It didn't taste like chinese. I got the sesame chicken, which tasted like cheap barbeque chicken with a hint of orange sauce. The fried rice was extremely dry and also had a really odd flavor. This place is also near where we used to work, so we got carry out a few times after my first visit and I was disappointed then as well. I tried several chicken dishes and they were all bad. I honestly feel bad because the people who work here are some of the nicest I've ever encountered at a chinese restaurant. Normally you don't go to a chinese place for the exceptional service, it's more of a "you play by our rules" atmosphere, but these people are super friendly. They even know my Dad by name and would get excited and super hospitable whenever we came in. I'm glad my Dad enjoys the food and is willing to go there, but I can't do it. There was nothing enjoyable about the taste.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
