Food is sublime! The soups, the cucumber salad are so scrumptious! I got the goulash and it was out of this world. My dining mates both had the paprikash and they were outstanding! Recommend :)

Why would you go to the Rhapsody when you can get "REAL" Hungarian food at the HACC (Hungarian American Cultural Centre) in Taylor ?!! Check them out for dining times if you want the "REAL THING". hungariandetroit.com It will make you want to try "Greasy Bread" and drink Palinka

Simply the closest thing to home cooked Hungarian as you are going to get in Michigan. The owners are warm and Hungarian, which is a necessity when producing Hungarian Cuisine. I have two Hungarian parents and lots of Aunties that would consider themselves snobs about such things...yet we've successfully had family dinners there and everyone's come away happy.

I was introduced to this place by a friend whose mother is from Hungary. This place is fantastic. Their chicken paprikash is yummy - and I will not eat a mushy dumpling - they are perfect! The goulash is very tasty as well. My Hungarian friend's parents and all of their Hungarian friends eat at this place. If you want the real deal - this is it. FYI - on Sundays, they have this wonderful cauliflower soup - you must try it. The atmosphere is that of a family restaurant. If you are in the mood for comfort food, this is an awsome choice.

Hmm... do I feel like the stuffed cabbage? Or maybe the chicken paprikash? Or how about the beef goulash? And for dessert, palicsinta, or Hungarian crepes, filled with warm apricot preserves? Oh, and I can't forget to mention that they're house dressing is literally water, vinegar and sugar. That's it. And it's delish.

Great place to start out the New Year. The inside has a very warm and homey feel with hungarian porcelain, knicknacks and linens about. The staff is friendly, helpful and accomodating. I ordered the combo plate on the suggestion of our server. Saying that it would give a nice rounded sampling of dishes. Dinner started with a mediocre salad but the bleu cheese dressing was creamy, filled with small chunks of cheese and I am certain is made in house. Then as the main course arrived I realized our server was indeed correct, from the Chicken paprikash, the spaetle dumplings, to the lightly breaded pork chop, mashed potatoes, saurkraut and don't let me forget, the best stuffed cabbage I have ever had. Many times the cabbage is overcooked, not here it was perfect. My S.O. ordered the cod and shrimp. It arrived lightly breaded and cooked to a delightfull crispness. Served with a side of flavorfull new potatoes that had been sauteed in a herb infused oil. The portions were plentifull and our take home boxes were filled to the brim. I was happy and then our server brought the dessert tray out. Immediate ecstasy status. There were many choices from crepes to cheesecake to mousses. All items are made in house. We will definately return.

Absolutely DELICIOUS. Just out-of-the-park amazing food. Service was excellent, friendly, knowledgable. But the food, oh the food! Comfort food exponential. I live in a heavy hitting food/beverage playground (San Francisco area) and am pretty spoiled, but this place rocks. Worth the 2000 mile flight. I'm coming back. And then back again. You rock, HR.

We were visiting in the area and went in on the recommendation of my niece. The server was friendly and attentive. One of the specials that day included frog legs and I asked if we could just order a couple of them for an appetizer and she cleared it with the chef and that's what we had. For dinner we had the chicken paprikash (enough for two so we shared) and the Hungarian wine "bull's blood" which was very smooth and rich. The only drawback was that the dining room accommodates many large groups at tables so if you want a romantic setting you might want to mention to the hostess that you'd like to be seated away from the larger groups.

I wasn't prepared to see a Hungarian place here in Michigan, so I was excited to try one out. I had the goulash and my wife had the chicken paprika. The food was good, but needed more spice; I would have tipped extra for a red pepper shaker!

My favorite restaurant. Great pork chops and stuffed cabbage I've ever had. Homemade soups are delicious. Closed on Mondays but when my work called for lunch they let us order and come pick it up! The best!
