Came in for lunch one day, this is walking distance from the office. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. It is very old and dated. Seeing the clients made it depressing, there no one in the place. The lunch menu is very basic, but has a lot of breakfast items. Might be better for breakfast. I had a burger, inexpensive but very plain. If you are looking for lunch go to taco bell next door. If there are no customers to cook for, then why not spend time cleaning.

The food is great, so I became a regular customer along with my coworkers. But when my coworkers paid a visit without me, the owner's daughter went ballistic! She was upset that I'd tipped her mother $1 on a previous visit. She was clearly mistaken: what she saw was me ask for change for a $20 and add an additional $1 to the tip already on the table. We always tip the usual 20%, so her accusation clearly caught me off guard. After 2 years of weekly patronage, we will never eat there again. And yes, the bathroom is disgusting.

I have eaten at this place once and the food was pretty good. The problem is this: When I went to the restroom and saw how despicably nasty and dirty it was I almost threw up my food. In my mind, a place with a restroom as dirty as this should not be allowed to open as a restaurant and serve food to the public. It's a shame because the place is walking distance from our home and would be a great place to go for a quick morning bite. If I hear that they have addressed this problem then I will go back. Until then, I can not fathom dining in a place where the area where the cooks wash their hands looks like a bio-hazard.

I gave this little neighborhood diner 3 stars only because I haven't tried the other items on their menu and breakfast is breakfast. When I'm at work and don't have the time to sit down and eat breakfast somewhere, I order up their breakfast special for take out. Its cheap, quick, and they give you a lot.

Family owned and operated, Steve is the self proclaimed "Oldest Cook" in the area. If you like a great breakfast, make sure you hit this place at least one time. Steve bakes his Dearborn Ham daily along with fresh made Hash Browns. Homemade soups daily and the "Hillbilly" sandwich, with that home made ham, grilled with some secrete sauce. Great food, low costs and Family Run . . . . Try it ONCE !
