OK, let me tell you that I live in San Francisco but my hometown is the "D". Every time I go back to Detroit the first place we go to is Leo's to get a Greek Salad and we bring back the dressing to make our own out here on the West Coast. They DO NOT know how to make a greek salad out here. It's the one thing I crave living here. Don't get me wrong the food here is amazing but having a greek salad with Leo's dressing is something I just can't get enough of!

Burrrrp! 'Scuse me...just inhaled a veggie omellette from Leo's.... *!)(!&^%&^...ahh.. Happy girl! This location is within walking distance from work, so a coworker and I decided to get breakfast, because we'll be getting massages on lunch! (Damn I love my job!!)..... Yes, Leo's is a chain, and I am all about your Mom&Pop hole in the walls but I gotta tell ya, this breakfast was a good one...a very good one. Called in the carry out order, the guy said, okay, a few minutes, and it was ready the few minutes it took me to walk to my car and drive there....hey it's cold out! Hot breakfast, hot hashbrowns, cooked perfectly golden brown....good toast too... A little on the decadent side, but ya gotta live, and it's Friday! Right on LEO'S!!

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. They are super fast, it doesn't cost much and the staff is friendly (for the most part). Tuesday is a deal on coney's and the chicken lemon rice soup is really good on a cold day. Recommended for a quick stop for lunch.

I've been living under the impression that a Leo's is a Leo's, but this particular location is an anomaly. My favorite thing about Leo's is that when you find yourself out in some unfamiliar suburb and you need a quick and cheap meal, you can rely on the food to be consistent and the restaurant to be clean. This Leo's was very dirty (the dirt is emphasized by the aging forest green formica weirdly covering every surface). A tv airing a Jerry Springer-esque show also helped to set the tone. Our waitress seemed confused, like she had never seen a customer before, which may have been possible as it was 6:30pm and we were the only people dining in. I could have forgiven all of this weirdness had the food been what I was expecting, yet it was far from. The lemon rice soup, which I have eaten hundreds of times at other locations, smelled slightly rancid and had a very funny taste, like cinnamon had been added to it. Fries were served at room temperature and were about as undercooked as a french fry can be. Avoid this Leo's at all costs. There are a zillion other Coneys out there that are so much better.

Horrible. Now I' understand what a Leo's Coney Island is, and I love coneys, I love the chili, and I love the chicken tenders pita as much as anybody. Well I used to work next door at the hospital and only have 45 minutes for my break. I go in and order my chicken tender pita with fries. I hear a microwave go on less than a minute after ordering and 2 minutes later my food is ready. I realize this can't be a good sign. I worked in food service for nearly 7 years before beginning my career in health care and I recognize a microwaved meal anywhere. What was supposed to be a nice, hot and crispy chicken tender pita was a grey, chewy, soggy chicken tender pita. It was disgusting and gross. I can't believe they would do that and I will never return to this coney. Even if I did complain and/or they would have fixed the problem, IMO it never should have happened in the first place. Your a restaurant. It would have taken 5 minutes tops to fry a fresh hot chicken breast. Terrible, simply terrible.

I generally like to visit Leo's for breakfast and lunch. They are primarily a Greek & American based eatery which caters to a wide crowd of people. They have in my opinion some of the best Coney dogs of all the local Detroit Coney joints. I visited this Leo's at W. 9 Mile Rd on 3/21 because I wanted a good salad after getting some chicken dinner several doors down at a different spot. I can usually count on Leo's for some really decent oversized salad. However I do prefer the Greek salad without Feta. That day my Mother In Law was with me and she also ordered a couple Chef Salads as well as Special Coneys and Chili Cheese fries for some other family members. This Leo's by far is the smallest of any Leo's locations I've visited throughout Metro Detroit. However that did not seem to deter it from being busy at late lunch time (after 2pm). There was a good crowd of people and several waiting for take out orders. I can only assume this location would do well as it is within a few blocks - walking distance - from Providence Hospital. If you ever tried to eat at the Hospital's cafeteria its better for your Stomach and Pocketbook to make the walk over to Leo's. It was clean inside and there was a large screen tv near the entrance. It felt however a little cramped, booths were narrower and the few tables I saw were relegated to sides and back. The Take out counter was cramped to one side and you literally had to squeeze by to wait in line. However the take out service Was very fast - literally within 8minutes we had our full order of 4 special coneys w light onions, 2 french fries, 1 chili cheese fry, 2 large chef salads, and 1 large greek salad no feta. With it still being Lunch time (albeit late lunch about 2pm) I was impressed at the speed. Next time I would like to sit down and eat there to see how well table service is. For now, I will definitely come back an get take out.

Here I go again writing another review about a Coney Island. I can't help that I frequent so many of them!!! This is the coney island I go to periodically with my mother. We rotate depending on our moods and the distance we want to go from the house. The service here is pretty good and quick, which is optimal. Just like any coney island, they have the basic breakfast and lunch menu's. My favorite here is the French Toast, while my mom always gets Grits with her breakfast. The average meal is around $5. And just like I say for every coney island review I post, AVOID Sundays.

I frequent Leo's because it's pretty close to where I live. The service is always fast and courteous. I know it's another coney island but what can I say? That's like saying here we go with another review for spa! There are many to choose from! Trust me when I tell you not all 'coney's' are created equal. Leo's is clean, which is a plus, they're quick and the food is good! They are really close to Providence Hospital so if you can avoid going between noon and two you'd be doing yourself a huge favor. If not, the wait is about 15-20 minutes.

First time at this particular location. No matter the Coney Island I always order breakfast. Went during lunch time on a weekday it was busy but the staff was managing it quite well. Ordered a scrambled egg sandwich w/cheese on wheat toasted & extra tomatoes. $5.40 was the charge. By the time I went to the Family dollar a few stores over, which took all of 4 minutes & came back the young lady had my food ready. Sandwich was hot & eggs scrambled perfectly. Overall very filling & tasty. I would go back.

This is your typical greek coney as found throughout the metro area. The normal items can be found on the menu. Breakfast is served anytime. $1 coney specials are ran on Wednesday. Then there's greek salads and other greek and american specialties. One time I noticed the turkey dinner. Ordered it and was really surprised. It turned out to be real turkey, not the processed kind. The mashed potatoes were also real and yummy. Next best to homemade goodness. This is a very busy location. Although turn over is very quick. They also have a huge takeout business going. Waitstaff is always pleasant and attentive.
