i like the fact that i can order online for this place! i wish more small businesses had the option of online ordering. the food was very fresh, i ordered a pepper steak and shrimp fried rice combination. the steak wasn't like other steak i have had at chinese restaurants, you could tell it was freshly cut and there was none of the icky fat that usually comes on pepper steak. each bite was perfectly tender and savory. the only thing i did not care for was the peas and carrots in the shrimp fried rice, it gave it a weird after taste. however i would try this place again because the portions are crazy huge (was able to eat the combo three separate times) and the food is served fresh. wouldn't say it is the best chinese around but it is definitely worth trying.

It was well before 11am (opeing time) but I was able to submit my order for delivery to have it delivered 45 minutes after opening (required by online ordering). #1 - It came before scheduled time of 11:45 am....to the tune of 11:35am....boom boom boom...I'm likin ya already... #2 - HOLY FRESHNESS!!!!!!!!!! Egg Rolll...eh...it was an egg roll...however, I'm not the greatest of guesser Shrimp Chow Mein....YUMMMMMMMMM...again. So fresh! Tons...tons of shrimp throughout!! GET IT!! Garlic Broccoli...oh yes...I even ate this a day later and it was fanab! Even my fortune cookies were fanab!! (fabulous, fantastic, fantabulous....you got!?) I work near here now, and now that I've eaten here half a dozen times or more I can honestly say it's one of my favorite Chinese places in metro Detroit. Not only is their standard diaspora Chinese good, but their Chinese menu is right out in the open, and they make great noodle bowls. My personal favorite is their ma po tofu, but try the twice cooked pork, and of course good old reliable General Tso.

I have ordered from here before and I have enjoyed the food. I decided to get delivery because it was raining and my order was completely wrong. I called to let them know that it was incorrect and the response was, "well it was already delivered." I believe that it may have been an issue with translation because everyone that answers the phone has a strong accent. However, they got the numbers right off my card to charge me. Hmmmm. Just go pick up your food. Lesson learned.

The food was not fresh. The chicken was on the chewier side. Overall this place was average. On the plus side the portions were huge.

The best thing about the place is the quantity they serve for the price. I purchased the General Tsao Chicken (Spicy) it wasn't really spicy (but then again, I am from India), but it was fresh. The staff is courteous, even though they still seem to be learning the american culture.

As someone who has eaten food in Asia...this food is by far some of the best Chinese in the metro area. The food is super fresh & I love that they offer you free samples to taste different varieties that they have showcased. We were so sad when the owners sold their previous restaurant in Farmington but we are so happy they have found a better place to reopen. The restaurant is clean and comfy with not a lot of noise...so a great place to grab a bite to eat & be able to hear your conversation at the table. We will definitely be getting food from here again!!

When ordering Chinese takeout I err on the side of caution - I eat the dishes that are difficult to mess up: sweet n sour chicken, lemon chicken, etc. egg rolls. Not even the egg rolls were pleasant here. Almost an hour delivery on a Monday night? No dessert options (the listed the fortune cookie as an option when asked!) At least they got my diet Pepsi right. I'll not order again.

Meh. This place was good. I stopped in randomly between work and class to get some quick 'n dirty dinner. Because I'm boring and white, I ordered the Almond Chicken. That's pretty much my favorite, and I can't bring myself to switch to anything new regularly. The chicken was great - fresh, crisp breading, sliced into managable sized pieces and served with fried rice and an eggroll. The fried rice was decent - a little dry and flavorless, it also had barely any peas or carrots (I literally found about two of each in the whole package, thus leading me to believe that there should have been more). MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT - brown-gravy style almond chicken, not the delicious "yellow" sauce. It was tasty though, and I ate it happily. I did find it to be a tad expensive - I paid about $12 for a regular-sized styro-carry-out container's worth of food. This seemed like a lunch-sized portion, but I paid a dinner price. I'd totally go back and try some of the other dishes, and check the pricing before I order.

Been there a few times for lunch and will keep going back : ) They have lunch specials that are all around $6.25 each...and a very good deal for what u get...a selection of 30 different combination plates, and also white or fried rice, plus an egg roll. Your plate is very well loaded and I would have to say to over 3 lbs worth. Also the egg roll is a good sprout one, not the cheaper cabbage one like at some places. A major point to note is that I have never had to wait longer than 5 min for my food because they are well staffed for the lunch rush and constantly make food all during it. They also have a "hot food" table of the 10 most popular items to make they line go so fast. The only reason that I gave it 3 stars and not more is because I have only been there for lunches and not other times of the day. Thumbs Up

Dined here last time I visited family here in Michigan. Decent food with very generous portion at good prices. It's a good deal.

The food here is good its the service that sucks. Almost every time I go and order food the way I want it the people who work there always gawk at me like I have 3 heads!! I can't speak for others but I don't go to a Chinese food place for authentic Chinese cuisine I go for the Americanized greasy large portions version of Chinese cuisine!! Its my money and like at burger king I expect to have it my way! Oh yeah lets not forget they have also screwed up my order a couple of times which is my fault for not checking but I do try to give people the benefit of the doubt hence the reason I have gone back but the employees really rubbed me the wrong way the last time so I can say with certainty I will not give this place a dime of my money ever again period!

Their food is delicious! The only thing I was disappointed about was the amount they charge for delivery and they also charge a fee for you to use your credit card.

This restaurant is in a strip mall shared by the following food establishments: Cold Stone, Benito's, Qdoba and Subway. I went I to Qdoba first but the line was very long. Did not feel like waiting for over 10 minutes to give them my order so I went to China Gourmet. First of all there is nothing gourmet or authentic about this Chinese restaurant. It more like a Panda Express then an authentic Chinese restaurant. I had their lunch special for $6.99 plus soft drink which came to a total of $8.20 tax included. My lunch came with Bourbon Chicken, fried rice and egg roll. Bourbon Chicken: No wow factor. It is just okay. Good enough to eat. Fried rice: no flavor. Seems like they just fried the rice then added Spy Sauce to give it the "black" color. Ask the white rice, I think it might just be better. Egg Roll: this was actually good. you should try it. I would go back to eat again but I will take it for what it is; an imitation of Panda Express

I ordered a pint of steamed vegetables and tofu with a spring roll. It was ready quickly and was hot. The spring roll was crunchy and full of good veggies. The steamed vegetables were crisp and the tofu was steamy joy. I'll be back.

Just your average Chinese place; not overly impressed. They do give lots of food, enough for 2 meals easily.

I stopped in China Gourmet to pick up dinner tonight. I just had a pint of steamed vegetable and an egg roll, which was pretty good. My friend has Sweet & Sour Shrimp with shrimp fried rice. He said his food was definitely good. He liked the fact that his shrimp was a decent size and wasn't dried up as if it had been sitting under a warming lamp. They are pretty decently priced. They have a sitting area outside as well as in. They also have a television in the dining area. The restaurant was also very clean. Definitely an ok place for carry out chinese.

Meh... Food was hot and delivered FAST to a local motel, and they give you lots of food. But flavor was flavor was only so-so, and dishes labeled as spicy on the menu were not spicy AT ALL.

My wife and I loved this resturant when it first opened. I' m big into sesame/ orange/ Etc flavored chicken. I noticed that they reduced the quality of chicken over time. One occasion my chicken was seventy percent fat. We recently found a great place for Chinese

Used to be pretty good, but really went down hill. Prices went up, food got worse, and they even tried doing soul food as an option too. That's when I stopped going there.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
