Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I was not impressed. I came here for dinner and the food tasted like it was previously frozen and just heated in a microwave. There were nats flying around everywhere. The place felt dirty. It definitely needs a deep cleaning! Also the place is very cold, so if you plan on going bring a sweater! But the waitstaff was great!

Not much to say. Stood around for five to ten mins and nobody acknowledged my presence, so I left.
(1)Heather K.
Terrible service - place was half empty and it took over 45 min to get food after we ordered. Another 20 min to pay the bill. Sizzling fajitas weren't even sizzling!

Finally gave this place another try a few days ago and seems to be getting a little better. Had a combo plate with a steak taco, chicken taco, and an enchilada. Liked the queso that came with the plate. Wife wasn't so thrilled with her lunch but she's from LA and that's a totally different league of Mexican food. Staff seemed still a little disconnected with the guest. Giving it three stars since me or my wife didn't crap our pants this time.
(3)Linda S.
Not good. It wasn't all terrible but it wasn't good. The chips and taco shell were beyond stale. Looked like carboard! Thats the quickest way to ruin a taco, for sure. I ordered the cinco combo and not a bite stood out to me as memorable. How is this place busy?
(2)Dan C.
Waited 10 minutes white the restaurant wasn't busy. Didn't see a single employee. They didn't want our money, they won't get it. The host did answer the phone when we called while driving away. So we know she is fine, just not interested in doing her job.

This used to be one of my favorites restaurants for the past 10 years but last night it was awful. The chips and salsa are not the same, the quality of food was lowered (gross chicken) and the place was empty at 6pm on a Saturday night. We ended up telling the manager that our meal was not as usual and she told us that the ownership changed recently. It's sad that new owners are going to run a good restaurant to the ground. The only positives were the drinks and our waiter. Unfortunately, I will now not being going back to a restaurant that I used to love.

I always have great food here. My favorite is the Matador, a combo. Jim's is "The Conquistador." We love the speedy service too.
(5)Suzzette M.
Not horrible, but not the best mexican. We have been spoiled in the metro area with great mexican gems like El Charros, Grand Azteca, and Mexicantown in Detroit! Foods is just ok. The second star is granted on these two items.... 1. They have sweet corncake! That is almost imposible to find at mexican restaurants for some reason. 2. Great drink prices! I had a HUGE white sangria and it was only $3.99! Hubs had beers for $1.99!
(2)Mike W.
For those of you that want better Mexican food, go to Juan Miguel's which is on M-59 about four miles East of Don Pablo's. That Mexican food there is more authentic tasting and the service is MUCH better!!
(3)Kent M.
I have been here a couple times. Don't let the parking fool you - I thought there would be a line out the door because the parking lot was full, but there was plenty of seating available. Service was a little slow with a new server tonight, but outside of that, the food was good and plentiful. The staff is generally efficient and upbeat. The restaurant is clean and well laid out with plenty of room to spare. Prices are typical of national chain restaurants - a little higher than the locals for the same product. No wi-fi.
(4)Jeff V.
We used to love this place. We won't be back. The waitstaff and food quality have declined( Our last four visit in a row included). The tortillas were greasy and chewy it took three baskets before getting crisp ones. Our fajitas had cooled off before finally getting flour tortillas. The only saving grace are the margaritas. We might consider going back if they posted a giant under new management sign outside.

I visited Don Pablo's for the first time this week because my best friend wanted Mexican. I had no idea where they even had Mexican food in the area and she suggested Don Pablo's. I had Don's Chicken Enchiladas with the cornmeal spoon bread and of course Mexican Rice. I specifically asked the waitress if there were onions and/or peppers in the enchiladas. Not being a frequent eater I have a hard time with the difference between all the things they have. Sure, chimichanga vs. enchilada may sound like it's self explanatory, but for me it's not. I could have asked the difference, but I didn't. Now I am in no way allergic to onions, I just can't stand them. Have to run to the bathroom to vomit kind of hate them. She assured me that there was none. As I was eating my enchiladas (which by the way, I still have no idea what they are) what did I find but onions. There were so cooked that they didn't taste like onions, but I was slightly upset all the same. What if I had been allergic? Maybe I would have been more vocal, but if I am asking if something is in it I want an honest answer. If you don't know - ask and find out for me. The food itself was alright. Aside from the onions, my enchiladas were pretty tasty. The menu had said they were under melted cheese. To me it seemed more like cheese soup. All of my enchiladas were covered in some unidentifiable liquid (I'm guessing it was the cheese). It was not the sour cream, because that was there too. Mexican rice was okay, cornmeal spoon bread was okay too - although nothing compared to cornbread, a personal favorite of mine. I also used the bathroom while I was there and the ceiling was covered in cobwebs. That worries me a bit.

Had the lunch special. Food was OK. Service was good. Chips and Salsa was good. (To the haters- This is a suburban Mexican joint next to a mall, What do you want?? This is Not Mexican Village!) LOL. .
(3)Brenda M.
It is a chain so that should give you your first hint. Being a Texan, I occasionally get suckered into my cravings for Tex Mex by trying places like this. Mass produced, lack luster with salty sauces is a decent description. The guacamole is decent however the sides are bland. The warehouse setting is acoustically disastrous. Lesson learned.
(2)emily b.
I really like this place. The food is usually good and it comes with complimentary chips and salsa. Their maragaritas are good as well. I usually get the steak fajitas which are AMAZING and I like to go on the fajita night where its all you can eat for 10.99 or something- even though I never eat more then one helping, I like to have the option :) My boyfriend loves this place though, it is his absolute favorite! He gets the same thing, every time, never has to open the menu. Their queso blanco dip is really yummy! However, 3 stars because the service usually sucks and Its frustrating.
(3)Bess R.
It's a chain. Food is good, not exciting. I normally rate chains mainly on service, and service was A-OK tonight. Our server checked back with us just enough to not be annoying. Chips were hot, food was hot, drink refills were a-plenty.
(3)Sandra C.
I love this place. Service is always a little slow, but the food is worth waiting for. Try the corn bread; it's fantastic! They have different specials throughout the week. I'll be going back for more!
(4)Shelley C.
Officially had the worst service ever at this restaurant. Food was very good but won't go back again. 1. Server Was slow to get our order. Excusable, however. Then the rest... 2. First round of drinks took over 15 minutes. 3. Appetizers delivered by second server. Drinks were gone by now. 4. Had to flag server down for another round of drinks. 5. 20 minutes later drinks arrive. This only after asking again for the drinks. 6. Appetizers gone and dinner order not taken yet. Finally get our order in. 7. Sat with dirty dishes on our table from appetizers until half way through the meal. 8. 1 meal missing part of the salad, another kids meal the fruit was bad, charged extra without us knowing for doing part chicken and part beef on a salad. 9. Bill incorrect. Ended up as a 2 hour meal. At the end we asked the hostess to call us a cab and the blank look was such that I'm not sure she knew what a cab was. She asked her manager to help. Manager had no idea how to do this either. Both of these young ladies were early 20's. I asked if they had ever called a cab for someone and she did not know. We weren't from the area so had no idea who was good to call. Finally went to the bartender who called a cab for us. The meal debacle seems to have been coming from the top down. Young waitstaff? Poor leadership? I know the cab has nothing to do with the Meal, but everything to do with the lack of service. It was sad.

W e have been coming here for years. Some of the people working here actually recognize us when we come. The food is okay. Some times are better than others. We used to come a lot on Taco Tuesday. The kids like to come here for birthdays and wear the sombrero. It is good food for a chain restaurant and people are friendly.
(3)Ashley T.
Best Catania nachos ever and the apple pies addictive don't forget to add chicken!!!!
(5)Richard R.
Our food arrived almost an hour after ordering and had obviously been sitting around and reheated. Without warning our waitress (while using pot holders to handle our plates) hands me my 2 year old's super hot plate to send across the table causing me to burn both my hands. Why is a plate intended for a 2 year old served hot enough to cause burns? His quesadilla was not even cooked on that plate. She seemed totally unconcerned and offered no apology. I had to hunt down another waiter to ask for ice for my hands. I complained to the manager who was friendly and apologetic and ended up compensating my meal. I've very thankful my son did not touch/ burn his hands as well. The restaurant only had a few customers at the time. The dining area and the portion of the kitchen we could see were filthy. The chips and salsa were tasteless and did not have any salt. We will definitely not return to this restaurant.

Upon walking in to Don Pablo's I was greeted by a portrait of a distinguished gentleman I first believed to be Don Pablo. He looked like a respectable guy--not someone with any ill intentions of ruining my night. The first thing I noticed when I was sat to my table was that Don Pablo's is exactly that same as I remembered it ten years ago, only now old as hell and falling apart. My party moved booths 3 times in the hope of finding a spot that wasn't a ripped up strip of leather over a pile of driftwood. We were the only other patrons of the night, so we didn't have to feel like assholes about moving around. Besides, we were just sat adjacent to a beautiful nuclear family, and fuck that too. Once we settled in, I realized who I thought to be Don Pablo was none other than the Dos Equis "most interesting man in the world." Scanning what I had to assume to be a menu that would only make sense at a shitty chain restaurant (with each item showing its calories and making me hate myself for not only ending up here, but having to be more aware at what I was about to consume), a telepathic sense of regret started to come over me. I ordered Numero Uno Favorite. It's grade-B steak in a hard shell with a few slightly more cooked than raw onions and peppers, a soft chicken taco with the same fixings, a small bowl of queso, and a chicken enchilada. It also came with a side of Mexican mashed potatoes, which I'd have to conclude to be the single worst mashed potatoes I've ever had (seriously, how do you even go about fucking up mashed potatoes?) and a side of Uncle Ben's Mexican fried rice that wasn't even living up to being Uncle Ben's. Back to the main food. The queso was like 2 steps ahead from the shit you get sealed up made by Tostitos in a Walmart chip aisle. The tacos were both garbage. I'd have gotten more satisfaction with Taco Bell substitutions... But the enchilada. It was not an enchilada. It was really white. Like, it had some kind of white sauce microwaved in to it's pours that resembled paint primer. It tasted only slightly better than paint primer. It the single most disgusting thing I've ever had from any Mexican restaurant ever. Even my soda water managed to be nastier than could be expected. This place probably needed to catch fire 5 years ago. Awful.
(1)Amanda P.
My sister and I just finished having lunch here and it was great! We both had to pick two combo with beef tacos and I also got a side of the corn cakes. The food was out so quick and it tasted delicious. Our waitress was wonderful too! This was my first time coming here for lunch and I will definitely be back!
(5)Matt C.
The food is alright; nothing to write home about. Standard chain-style more Tex than Mex. The best part was the spoon corn cake. They do offer spicy salsa, which is nice. The chips are oversized for the cups of salsa they have, though. Verdict: Still searching for good Mexican food here.
(3)Carter N.
I got the chip dip sampler but like another yelper said the chips were full of grease. The chips were so greasy it was like they were soaked in water. And I question too: how can a Mexican place that serves tortilla chips all day long everyday serve chips that awful?
(1)Joe T.
I am updating my 2-star review of this nasty place with a 1-star review. Three words - ABHORRING. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. Oh, and a few more words - NASTY. ASS. CARNITAS. And I say ass because at best, this is flavorless, steamed, pig ass. At first, I complained about my small portion of carnitas (this was before tasting it). The manager came to me and pretty much said "well, this is how we weigh it out, so deal with it." Then I took a close look and taste of the carnitas and it was very gross. I was glad it was a small portion. It was steamed, not even crisp fried like it should be. The part of it that was stuck to the pot it was steamed in had a nasty chicken kidney look to it. I will upload a picture here as a courtesy. Fair warning, it looks very gross. I complained about how bad the carnitas were to my waitress and all she had was "I'm sorry you don't like it." Shouldn't it be a business practice to offer another dish up and void the bad one? Is a large restaurant like this with all of their waste and overhead not able to make the patrons happy? I had too much pride to demand an exchange, so I stomached half the carnitas and proceeded to do something I have not done since 2006. I threw my leftovers away, happily. I will give credit where it is due. This is a family friendly restaurant catering to idiot Americans that think any upgrade from Taco Bell is Mexican food. You can probably get a decent margarita and some fajitas or burritos/enchiladas here. But you will sit through shit customer service in the event you are dissatisfied, and the only remotely adventurous dish they offer, carnitas, they massacre with horrible taste and texture.
(1)Devon C.
Just went there for the first time and it was the worst experience I have ever had from a restaurant. With in hours after eating there I got the worst food poisoning of my life. I was sick for days I will never go there or refer anybody to that place.
(1)Ken J.
Oh Don Pablo... how you've changed... When this place originally opened up, this was the mexican place to get your tamale's in order at. However, as time has continued to tick... the restaurant hasn't done anything to stick with the changing times. Same menu... same flare... (who doesn't love flare?) and really, nothing much to keep you coming back after the first blah time there. I remember celebrating my 21st birthday at this specific location... and the place was impossible to get into... you had to know someone, or camp out for hours before you actually wanted to eat dinner. Now? Not so much. When friends invited me there for a meal, I was more than happy to come along. from just the wait that we had for waiting for a greeter to tell us what was going on with any sort of a wait, I had a feeling that it wasn't going to be anything like I quite remembered it. Slow Service... luke warm food... and a waitress that came around every once in a while on a slow night... it definitely felt like it has lost a lot of its luster.
(2)Kelly S.
After a year of not going here, mom and I thought we would give it another try...bad move. It's pretty bad when you not only can't eat your food but even the alcohol sucked. I ordered a glass of pinot grigio and mom had a margarita. My wine glass was super heavy, thick and loaded with smudges and prints on the outside. Mom's margarita was frozen and blended. We both only drank about 1/4 of our drinks...they just weren't drinkable. And we needed the alcohol to drown the taste of the food. The price for what you get is ridiculous. I wanted the chose 2 where I ordered two taco's with rice (bland/dry), a side order and...that's it for $10.00 I had to pay $1.00 more to get steak instead of gross ground beef or chicken. My taco's were luke-warm, the crispy taco shell reeked of something like crisco oil, so did the 'flour' tortilla wrapping for the other taco. The beans were not bbq as requested and were cold. We both ate 1/2 of our meals and left hungry. We will never return. Adio's Don Pablo's!

I was under the impression that this place was out of business since the ones I used to frequent had closed years ago. When I found out there was one in Shelby Township still open I was super excited and demanded my husband drive the hour or so to get there because I HAD to have it... Unfortunately, it was not as good as I remembered. The best things were the dip sampler (the white queso and the guac where awesome) and of course their legendary corn cake, so moist and amazing. Beautiful atmosphere too. What absolutely RUINED it for me was the lack of a tolerable margarita. Their priciest, premium margarita "the primarita" has sour mix in it. What top shelf, premium margarita has sweet & sour mix?!? Gross. The only two margs that were not supposed to contain sour mix, still did, and a sickening amount of it at that. I don't know if they had an inexperienced bartender that night or what, but I sent back a record 3 drinks... I don't think I trust them enough to EVER go back based on that experience. If I'm eating Mexican, I need a good margarita to go with, or else I'm not eating Mexican, ya know?

Every time I have come here the food has been good, the service excellent, and the price is great for how much food you get!

We chose to eat here to get more than the fast-food burrito. Family of four came in for lunch on a Saturday. The food was really good- warm chips, mild salsa with just a little kick, husband and I both liked our combination plates, the queso dip is awesome, and the kids enjoyed their corn dog & cheeseburger meals. I liked that apples and carrots sticks were an option on the kids menu. What we didn't like, and the reason it for 3 stars instead of 4, was the amount of time it took- 3-5 minute wait just to have someone come to take the drink order, another 3-5 minutes to get waters & lemonades, another 5 minutes to get chips, and a good 15 minutes for the meal. And when we got there, there were maybe 5 other tables. So, good food but they need to speed things up.

Will you get authentic mexican food here? I can't imagine anything they serve is the slightest bit authentic. But, it is mexican style food. Will you get greasy mexican style food here? I never have! Probably the only "mexican" place I can even say that about. Will you get authentic stone ground chips here? Nope. Instead you'll get this delightful paper thin ultra crispy chips that are never ever greasy, and usually served warm with salsa. The predominant spice in the salsa is cilantro, which is great if you enjoy cilantro, but awful for those who hate it. Will you get great service? Unfortunately, I never have. I usually get meh to adequate service. But, I like the food. So, if you hate cilantro, or are a "authentic mexican food snob," this is not the place for you. I love cilantro, and I'm fine with "mexican STYLE food," (providing I know that's what I'm going to get before I order), so I'm good with this place.

I've been here a lot with friends and family and I'm still not a huge fan. I enjoy it, but don't LOVE it. I've had some bad experiences with the wait along with waitresses. I've waited a long time to get even a carry out. My food has been cold, had to send back but sometimes it'd been really good. Had tacos one night with a friend and they were awesome, was very surprised. Good but not the greatest.

I got here before dinner rush so I thought I was safe.... NOT! I waited for 15 minutes until I asked the manager if there is a server working the area I'm sitting in. The server came and was very attentive to our table, considering we were the only table for the next 15 minutes! The food was horriable! The chips where thin taco shells broke in half, the salsa was thick, and so acidic! I got the taco salad....add steak, equals disgust! I knew I shoulda went to Taco Bell. Ps. I am the bathroom rater and this bathroom gets an "F"! Dirty, stinky and filled with fruit flies! First and last time I will visit......Dont understand why the parking lot is always full?????

Completely horrible! Terrible customer service horrible food absolutely rude workers. My cousin and I went there and we were ordering a carry out. When we called for the carryout they told us it would take 15 minutes. Knowing it was the weekend we decided to give it a few minutes longer and when we got to the restaurant the kid behind the cash register waited 10 minutes to even acknowledge our existence . Then he told us our food was not ready yet although it'd been almost half an hour and it would be a few minutes. He scooted us away from the takeout counter before disappearing to never be seen again after taking our money. Then after waiting another 45 minutes we still hadn't received our food. Every person in the restaurant completely ignored us and was rude. They acted very arrogant and by the time our food came the manager brought it out & set it on the counter and disappeared. A few minutes later he returned grab the bags, threw that in my cousin's face without saying a word and ran off. There was no apology, no sorry for making you wait, no nothing offered in compensation just him talking the bags and running like he was afraid of us saying something. Needless to say all of the food was extremely soggy with a rubber like texture. It was cold and everything we ordered tasted terrible. Considering that I order was about $50 it was rather insulting with the way they treated us. The condition of the food was clearly an indication that it has been sitting for a while and everything we got was terrible. If I could give this 0 stars I would. This place is awful I would not recommend it to anyone with taste or a brain or in search of good food. Chewing your shoe would be better than the quality of crap we got on top of the rudeness. The staff is inept, rude and unprofessional. I will not be going back.

Uhhhh.... it's Don Pablos. But seriously, I don't hate this place. It's a chain, it serves Tex Mex food. It's pretty much exactly what you expect. You get all your usual fare like enchiladas, fajitas, margaritas, chips, guac, etc. It's not great, but it's a chain. What do you expect? The prices are decent. Much better than that place in Ferndale, or that other one that just opened up in Royal Oak, knowhatimsayin? The only thing I really can knock it for is the outright crappy service. Sometimes Don Pablo's will get wayyyy too busy. The parking lot fills up, and you have to park in someone else's lot. If this happens, don't even bother going inside. You won't get very good service at all. On Thursdays they have all-you-can-eat enchiladas for a price that escapes me right now, but I remember it being "not bad." Oh, when they ask you what sides you want, ask for the corn spoon bread stuff. It's really good.

I used to love going here but recently I went back twice giving the benefit of the doubt the service was bad the food was bad ...what happened..?? I'll never go there again

Poor service, insulting waitress and average food. We went here with a group of people for dinner. Not only was the dining experience mediocre, we were charged an automatic 18% gratuity for the displeasure of dining here. Don't bother e-mailing corporate to voice your displeasure though because they're apparently not interested in hearing from you.

We went to this Don Pablo's for the first time since moving to the area about 4-5 months ago. We aren't huge fans of the chain, in general, because when we're wanting Mexican, we want actual Mexican. However, I've never had a poor experience with Don Pablos, just the usual easily-forgettable, mediocre ones. You know the ones: come hungry, leave not hungry, go about your day. After checking out Lakeside Mall, we thought chips & salsa sounded good, and headed over, since it was right there. We walked into the restaurant, and there was nobody up front. The entryway and the dining room are separated by walls. We weren't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves (which would be weird), or wait to be seated. It wasn't busy. There was one guy sitting in a chair by the doors, and one guy at the bar, farther down. We stood there awkwardly, kind of just looking around. We stuck our heads into the dining room, and saw only a few tables occupied. We stepped back, and waited a few minutes longer. At around the 7-8 minute mark (this is a long time when you're just standing and waiting), we started talking about where we should go instead. Then, someone came to the cash register, and asked if we'd been helped. Clearly, that's a no. He seats us, and tells us our server would be [female name]. A few minutes later, a male came over to ask us about drinks and appetizers. He walked away, and then a female came over and brought us chips, without salsa. We asked for the salsa, and she said she'd return with some, along with the half queso, half bean dip we ordered as an appetizer. Then, the male came back within a minute, and dropped off the queso/bean dip. Then, the female returns to take our orders, no mentioning of the salsa. We place our orders, and again ask for salsa. She says sure, and disappears. 5-10 minutes later, she returns to ask if I had wanted the chicken or steak. I reiterate chicken. As she turns to walk away, my boyfriend asks once again "Can we PLEASE get some salsa?" That time, I guess she didn't hear us. We wait for the food. It arrives, but with a lot of confusion, as both of my sides were wrong, and one of my boyfriend's sides were wrong. She left to have them corrected. I cut into my burrito, and see that they did not omit black beans as requested, but by this point we're over the whole thing. I decide I'm just going to eat the chicken, and be done with it. After the first bite, I see that it's flavorless and..just.. bland. I guess it's okay in fajita form, since you have salsa, cheese, sour cream, etc to top it. In a burrito, I did not get any of those toppings, so its just oily fajita stuff in a tortilla. My boyfriend started in on the cinco plate he'd ordered. He said the chicken taco was VERY good, but 2 other burritos were cold, and the other 2 were bland, and unseasoned. He ate the one taco, left the other 4 items, pushed the plate to the side, and asked someone cleaning the table next to ours if she could get our server. Our server returned, and I asked her to cancel the remake of all of my food, and just please bring us our bill, as we were done. I guess she went and got the manager, since he came to talk to us. We just explained how it was a poor experience from the start, and we really just wanted to go. He apologized profusely, told us he hoped we'd give them another chance in the future, and told us we wouldn't be charged for anything. I said the appetizer dip was very good, and we did eat that, so we would like to pay for that at least, but he insisted. So, although the experience sucked overall, the manager's great customer service is taking our 1 star to a 3. We feel we'd consider trying it again if we ever feel like chips & salsa (WITH SALSA!), but don't want to make the drive to Grand Azteca in Sterling Heights, or to our beloved El Potrero in Flint, where we moved from.

The chips were ok, but the salsa tasted like they just poured it out of a Pace Picante Sauce jar. So generic and not flavorful. I decided to try the Speedy Lunch with a chicken enchilada and a chicken soft taco and also ordered a cup of tortilla soup. My soup came first and it wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't good...it was just there, and very bland. When my meal came I was hoping for something to like about my meal, but was disappointed again. The enchilada was ok, but nothing I would come back for or order more of, but it was definitely the best item of the meal. The tortilla that came with the soft taco had a weird funky off putting taste to it. I had two bites of the taco and stopped eating. The rice was dry, and the refried beans were just blah. I will not be returning to Don Pablos, I would actually prefer the Taco Bell drive through than to ever eat here again. If your in this area and looking for a decent Mexican food restaurant try Abuelos, which is less than a mile away, but watch out for the pepper in the refried beans.
