Just came from a party, where the host served this, and WOW was it good! I have been wanting to try this place for quite a awhile now, and was so excited when I overheard that all the food was from Big Joes on Hayes, I literally lit up. There was a huge tray of fried chicken, broasted potatoes, and ribs. And it was all better than I could have guessed. The potatoes were different, but in a good way. Not like other potatoes I've had, they were almost a little "sweet". The ribs were fall off the bone tender, and so meaty. I couldn't see anyone eating more than 2 or 3---they were THAT big. And the chicken, oh that chicken.... it was sooooo tender/juicy. Even though I didn't have my 1st piece til hours after they picked it up, the skin was somehow still crispy, with real fried chicken integrity. Seasoned just right and not too greasy or oily. Just good fried chicken. And like the ribs, the pieces were huge, where do they get their meat from??!!! I want in on it! I look forward to many more meals from this place, and I'm already planning on getting it for my next big party. If u want good chicken and potatoes, ribs and whatever else they have (I'm certain) this is the place.

Mr V was craving some broasted/fried chicken so he put me on yelp duty to find a place. After a disappointing trip to the aquarium the three (sister tagged along) of us headed to big joes! We ordered 2 3pc chicken tender snackers (came with fries/broasted potatoes, rolls, and slaw for around $5-6) 12pc bucket (came with a huge order of potatoes, a large slaw, and rolls I think it was maybe $15?) An order of small mozzarella sticks (7pc) All of it came up to about $36 after tax Everything was delicious! The tenders were super juicy and crunchy as were the pieces from the bucket and the broasted potatoes were crunchy on the outside but soft centers and perfectly seasoned! -1 star for the strong smell of paint/ no "red sauce" for the mozz sticks (who doesn't have sauce for you to dip in?!) highly recommend this place over chicken shack/KFC!

This place probably has the best fried chicken in the area and the price is very reasonable. The breasted potatoes are the best I've had from a chicken place. Cooked perfectly and some amazing added seasonings. Very friendly service as well.

I was looking for a blue collar type pizza place when Big Joe's caught my eye. Pizza sounded good, but the possibility of eating healthy broasted chicken sounded better. I stopped in about a quarter past noon and got into line to order at the back counter. 2 minutes later and I would have gotten in the line just inside the front door. I ordered a two piece chicken dinner special, but had to decide between white or dark meat. I love dark meat. So naturally I blurted out, "white". Then I had to decide between french fries or broasted potato wedges. This time, I took the second option without hesitation. I selected a soft drink, paid for my food and found a seat right inside the door with a nice view of the activities outside. I think many of the people in line had called in their orders, because soon the line had dwindled. I also noted that by the time 12:30 rolled around and I was up to my elbows in succulent chicken, I was the only patron left. The meal was delivered to my table fairly quickly. After taking a picture, I started in on my potato wedges. Man! They were excellent! I finished them off before digging in on the dead chicken. Again, this chicken was great! I wanted to take a selfie, but my grin was so wide that it wouldn't fit in the camera, so I just skipped it. On to the cole slaw, delivered in its own separate container. You could tell that it was made with care here - I could imagine a chef hunched over a cutting board, carefully slicing cabbage, then re-cutting into a fine chop, and finally spreading the most excellent sauce over the entire lot, making it taste special when it got to me. Or maybe there is simply a machine that makes it in an industrial factory somewhere. The solitary dinner roll was a fine finish to my meal. Packaged in a little sandwich baggie, I removed it with tenderness, then devoured it like a ravenous coyote. All in all, an excellent meal for $6.25. It's a little busy in the area right now, so avoiding the traffic can be a chore while they continue to upgrade the sewer systems on Hayes. (May 2015) The men's rest room could use a bit more attention in the cleaning department. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. No, I really didn't have time to check out the ladies rest room, but maybe next time.

I thought the chicken here was decent. Many compare it to Chicken Shack; however, I think they are quite different. Here, I thought the chicken was a little greasy. But, I will say, their broasted potatoes are delicious. They are well seasoned and beat Chicken Shack hands down. The prices here are good, and you can get a lot of food for your buck. Overall, a decent place to eat.

I really enoyed the chicken from Big Joe's. I usually order about 7-10 wings. They are a really good size for the price that you are paying. This establishment is so great in comparison to the overpriced shack places in the area. I'm so happy to have noticed it.

Great chicken and fish at reasonable prices. The ribs have a unique sweet sauce on them. The broasted potatoes are seasoned and very tasty. Warning: this is not low calorie food. A nice change from pizza And a whole step above the colonel.

Wonderful staff and food is prepared well every time. You can sit in there but space is limited. I typically order carry out. Great prices and awesome broasted potatoes! My order of choice is the Chicken Tender Snack (3 piece chicken strip) with broasted potatoes, coleslaw, and bread.
