The wife and I discovered this place by mistake and so glad we did. I can't say enough about the family that runs this place they are awesome, so friendly and nice. Of course the service is great it's family. The food was some of the best Mexican I ever had. We came here during lent and could not eat meat so we can not wait to come back and try other menu items.

This is the only good aztecas! We found this restaurant about a year ago and drive a half hour to eat here. The food is great and the owners are very nice. We bring our friends and they love it too! We always get the trio dip...it's amazing!

Fanfreakintastic!!! I can't say enough.. I've been going here for years. Fantastic food. Great staff. The owners are always there and I great people. Desert is the best! In my eye's, it's the best Mexican in metro Detroit!!!

Ole' and Hooray, I've found my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Macomb county area! I used to live in the Los Angeles county area for close to 20yrs so I know what real Mexican food tastes like and Azteca's proves to be the real deal! My red sangria was the best I have ever tasted. The wine wasn't bitter or over-powering and the drink had a light fruity taste. The carne asada tacos were perfection with plenty of steak, diced white onion and cilantro served on a warm corn tortilla. The side of guacamole was priced right at $1.50 and it too was the real deal...not pre-packaged loaded with fillers. My side of beans and rice were very good although I thought the rice was dry without much taste but everything else was so darn good I can't ding the place for that. I also liked the authentic decorations throughout the place. Great Mexican food priced just right served by a very kind, friendly team. I'm coming back to try the home-made mud pie.

Ugh, a very bad last minute decision when we saw Buffalo Wild Wings was closed. Servers had to get on the same page, had 2 of them asking for our drink order etc., seemed like bad communication. Started with a margarita, way to much sour mix and they forgot to give us straws so we waited at least 5 minutes for those. They had "Mexican wings" on special so we thought we'd try them since that was our original dinner plan. They were terrible, not fried long enough, skin not crispy at all, weird texture and bad ranch/blue cheese that came with it. Our actual meal was ok, chimichanga I had was good, can't really go wrong that. Once the local crazies and methed out kids in bunny slippers started walking In the door off the street we knew it was time to go and we would not be coming back. The icing on the cake was when the owner told us to "tell all your friends where you eat mexican food!" I had very hard time trying not to laugh, because I will definitely tell them NOT to eat here! It also just seemed kind of desperate for him to be telling customers that, kinda weird and sad.

Not to be confused with the 'Grand Azteka's' chain of 5 or so restaurants in the metro area. Our food was good, & the 3 squeeze bottles of salsa's were Very Good! The service was ...sluggish / slow & I'm being kind, as every item that came to the table was accompanied by an apology? We will go back as the crowd suggested it is worthy, as the place was 80% full & the carryout business was steady.

I've been eating lunch here on and off for about 4 years. Never had a bad meal. Some of the tastiest, freshest dishes. It may not have much better atmosphere than a diner, but who cares when the food is this good. Some of my favorites include fajita quesadilla, Colorado burrito and best of all, the enchilada suizas. I do go back to the taco's from time to time. Best for me is marinated grilled pork. And if you aren't squeamish, try the beef tongue taco. They do have a booze, but haven't tried it, always going back to work. Service is friendly. Could be a little quicker, but OK. Not a high end place, but they hit the mark for what they are trying to do.

This is our new favorite Mexican restaurant. The California burrito definitely lived up to all the hype here on yelp. We were also excited to find out that they use muenster cheese for their enchiladas and in their nachos. This sealed the deal for Aztecas being our new go to spot for Mexican Fare. Looking forward to another visit soon Highly recommended

I have waited to find a real California burrito since living in San Diego and have found it here! OMG to die for. I wish I could have one everyday. The margaritas were phenomenal as well. I love everything about this place! You won't be disappointed.

This is by far our favorite go to Mexican restaurant. Love the family that runs it. They are the real deal, straight from Mexico. The food is outstanding and we have eaten Mexican in México, Texas, California and Michigan. We always drink the Horchata--Teresa's secret recipe. The guacamole is made fresh fresh fresh and delicious. Usually we get fajitas--and they are fantastic. Sometimes Ray will make me a garlic shrimp dish that will knock yours socks off. We brought in a party of 12 to celebrate a big birthday here. No problema. ¡Yo quiero Azteca!

I love Azteca's. My bf and I frequented their old location often when he lived nearby. Unfortunately he moved and we were unable to get there as often as we liked before. We were back in the area and decided to stop by and not much as changed food wise. You get 3 free salsas to enjoy while waiting for your meal. I always order the chicken tortilla since it is delicious there. However, on this occasion it was kind of cold and didn't melt the cheese they put on top. Our meals were delicious as usual! The bf got the usual california burrito, and I got the Azteca combination platter. One thing I will mention, I do believe prices have gone up. It is quite pricey. The california burrito was 12.95. That's a lot! I got the Azteca combination platter for $11 which is probably on par with most places. I just can't get over the price of the burrito and some of the other items I saw on the menu. My Azteca platter was delicious and there was a lot. It included an taco with plenty of steak inside, topped with lettuce, tomato, and avocado. It was great. A cheese enchilada, and an enchilada suiza. I will only be ordering enchiladas suiza from now on, it was so delicious! It's topped with a light green sauce vs the red sauce, and with queso fresco, and stuffed with a nice spicy chicken mixture (there is a lot of chicken!) which pairs well with the lightness of the green sauce on top with the queso. Our service wasn't that great as I had to flag down our waiter on a couple occasions simply to ask for refills. But I don't expect much more from any other teenager waiting tables on a Saturday night I guess. Overall the food is still great, the prices a little steep, but I will continue to support a locally owned establishment since their food is consistently good.

I've been to Azteca's before they remodeled and after and I still give it a solid 3 stars. I'm a huge fan of authentic Mexican food and had the pleasure of trying the Tacos de tripita and lengua on my visit tonight. Since I'm used to eating tripe and beef tongue, I was right at home. But for those not as adventurous, I suggest sticking to the usual fajita/burrito route. Service was very friendly and the food came out in a reasonable time. My only complaint was that it was a bit pricey, but I'm used to things being pricey in this area of Metro Detroit. I will definitely be coming back.

This is one of my favorite Mexican food places. First off the family that owns this restaurant are the nicest people you will ever meet. I can't say enough nice things about them. The food is fantastic. I order something different every time I go there and have yet to be disappointed. My favorite is their tamales and their fajita quesadilla They just started serving alcohol about a year ago now? Their mixed drinks are getting better but are still a bit too syrupy for my taste but it isn't a huge drawback for me since I'm more a beer drinker anyways. Last but not least their salsa is incredible! They set down 3 "ketchup" bottle -esque tubes down and bowls to put your selection in so you never have to little salsa and it allows for mixing the different salsas together if one is too hot or too mild for your taste.

Highly recommend this. Only real mexican style that you can get In the area that is always good. Been here many times and am never disappointed. I always go for enchiladas, and those are pretty amazing. Overall good value.

The food here is amazing and very authentic. The bad part is the atmosphere is not very good. Hopefully they will make some money and buy a place that looks as great as their food tastes.

BEST MEXICAN food ever. My husband have eaten Mexican food all over Metro Detroit. This is the best by far. The food is always fresh, and so tastey. The guacamole is made fresh and is oh sooooooo good. The owners are very nice. Come to the tables and talk with the customers, if there is a complaint they are there to make your visit enjoyable. Not that I think anyone would complain, but they are always ready to serve and please. If you get a chance go over and eat there. I don't think you will be sorry! Sharon G. Clinton Twp. MI

I was reading all the good reviews and I figured I'd give it a try. Are you people crazy? This food looked like it came out of a cheap frozen TV dinner, did I say freezer burn. Come on folks, if you are friends with the owner just exempt yourself from reviewing the place. This is very disappointing to one that uses Yelp to find restaurants. For the rest of you, the food was crap, go to Mexican Village or El Charro and save yourself the grief.

Just the nicest owners. Clean restaurant with good authentic food, but not so authentic that you have to be Mexican to enjoy it. Everything is always super fresh and they even serve alcohol now! Their guacamole is amazing!

The best advice that I can give is to go here on a tuesday and enjoy the dollar tacos. The tacos are my favorite thing here. The fajitas are good as is the shrimp cocktail. The only thing that I didn't like here was the carne asada burrito, it was a bit salty. The flavored lemonade is great, but since the refills aren't free it can be expensive. I'll be back to Azteca's.

  • Sean J.

Fantastic food and friendly service. Their California Burrito is the kind of hedonistic bounty that will make you feel so good while you're eating it; but so bad about the choices you've made in your life afterward. I could also drink their mild salsa on a hot day after a half-marathon. Most of their food is spectacular. But surprisingly enough, I'd stay away from the fajitas, as they won't really knock your socks off. They're also a bit on the pricey side for a family boutique Mexican restaurant, but I never regret the decision to go there.

My boyfriend and I went to Azteca's for the first time last night. You get a bowl of chips and three different salsas as soon as you are seated. The salsas were all excellent and very tasty, but the chips were a bit cold and stale, and not salted. We each ordered a soft drink and both of us had very flat sodas. I ended up just drinking water. Note that they do not give you free refills on your soda here so it can add up fast!!! I ordered the dinner burrito with chicken and he had the Chicken Enchilada Suiza. Good portions, the food was fresh and delicious and hot. Everything was very tasty, but the spanish rice was kind of blah, however, every time I go to a restaurant for Mexican food the rice usually is. The food is a little on the salty side, but it really was very tasty and I'd definitely go back. This is just a little Mom and Pop place, looks like it's staffed by family. The decor is kinda funny- a mix between Party City decorations for a Mexican Fiesta and authentic Aztek/Mexican art. They do have a full bar and were offering some pretty big margaritas and home made Sangria which looked really good. The service was just okay- we went without refills for a long time and they waitress never really checked on us, but she was very friendly and pleasant. I'd definitely go back to Azteca's, but it won't be super often because they are a bit pricey!!! For 2 dinners and 2 softdrinks, our bill was just shy of $30. However, the food was great and I'll go back.

I crave Mexican food like my kids crave McDonald's, they smile when they see the golden arches, well I smile when I see the Golden Sombrero that hangs above the doors that grant me passage to this gem of a restaurant just north of Hall Rd on Mound. Upon entry of this Mexican restaurante you are greeted by Mum & Papas Pride & Joy, they call Aztecas. The Images of red, white, green, the ladles of Sangria flowing over the ice in a glass so big you need two hands to hold instantly start stimulating your brain to fire up those taste buds, they're in for a treat. . You just barley get your culo in the seat and they have presented you with crisp tortia chips & 3 house made salsas. I tried some of the guacamole with my chips and had to say it was better then most of the ones I've tried when dining out. I decided to try there special, 3 fish tacos, topped with a unique sweet red cabbage slaw served with rice & beans, it was delicious. I ordered the kids the chicken chimichangas, they usually don't finish there plate unless dessert is mentioned, but that was not the case today. My wife ordered the taco salad, she liked it. The service was great, and the owner made his way to the table multiple times to check on our dinner. If your looking to go out and get some Mexican food with fresh ingredients I would recommend Aztecas!

Really more of a take out place. Only had about 6 tables, very small "dining" area. My rice, beans and enchiladas were delicious. But, I was VERY dissatisfied with the Tortilla chips- they just were not good. And we only saw our waitress when she brought our drinks/chips and our entrees. She did not make an appearance in between. What if we wanted refills?

Loved it here. First time I had ever tried Tacos de Carne Asada - chopped steak tacos served the authentic Mexican way on soft corn tortillas with chopped onions and cilantro - very, very good. The wait staff let me use my broken Spanish from high school to order - that was fun (uh for them, maybe not so much...) I enjoyed looking at the authentic Mexican drinks in the cooler, wondering but not knowing quite what was in them, I declined to order one. I also liked the very plain and unpretentious look of the place, can't stand those self-consciously over-decorated places that just scream "hey, we're MEXICAN!!" - it's like save it for Cinco de Mayo, willya? Okay, there's my review, and a bit of a rant on Mexican Culinary Interior Decorating, HA!

Discovered Azteca's last April when in town on business. I walked in the front door and was taken by the aromas from the kitchen. Back in town this week, brought a colleague and his family who live locally. They now have a new favorite restaurant. This is authentic Mexican, not watered down anglo Mexican food. My buddy and I had the pork in verde sauce special. It was amazing with complex flavors and lean pieces of meat. Flavorful, but not overly spiced. The girls had the Enchilada Suisas, fantastic! The corn and flour tortillas are homemade as are the soups. A great find.

The bomb, what ever you get it will be good and authentic, there are few mexican restaurants i have been to that have been better. I have had mexican food in mexico and that was the best ever, but Aztecas is pretty darn close to what you will get south of the border. If you love mexican food get you butt over here, if you just like mexican food try Aztecas and you will love it. Thank God they are back. Come and get it yall.

I'm very picky about my Mexican food. Azteca's is a family owned restarant and is not part of the Azteca's chain. They have fantastic, authentic Mexican food that is consistent every time that I go in. I agree with other reviewer that it is a bit pricey compared to other places, but I like the food so much more than other places, that it's worth it to me. If you are craving Mexican food, you will not be disappointed.

Well, I stupidly thought this was one of the Grand Azteca locations. The Grand Aztecas are GREAT. I placed my order on the phone, a simple chile relleno ala carte, and an order of chips and salsa. I arrived to a $13 bill. $8 for a plain cheese (not even beef stuffed!) chile, and when I got home, I found the chips were very stale. The hot salsa is good, but there's no point when you have nothing to eat it with. Ridiculous.

I've been on the search for a good Mexican place for quite a while in this area. I've been disappointed by many, including in Mexicantown (rhymes with schmosheemilkohs). This one was a suggestion from a fellow Yelper. We went at lunch and it was about 1/3 full at the time. We were seated right away and I gotta say the service was prompt and efficient the whole way through. The beer I got was cold and served with a frosted glass (always a good thing). The prices were pretty high in general and they didn't have the typical lunch menu that you see at normal places with value oriented dishes. Most dishes for lunch were 8+ and dinner plates were 11+. Though I did see they had a 2 for $20 deal with an appetizer, entree, and dessert which could be a decent deal. The salsa was good (like the 3 types and the squeeze bottles), but like the others said the chips were not up to par (cold and un-salted). The entrees were pretty good and very flavorful, but I feel like Mexican places can do more with the rice which is always bland and dry. Overall, the entrees and service brought this up from a 3 that it would get for chips and overall value.

Cheap, good, authentic Mexican food. You will go home satisfied. This place is in a strip mall off Mound Road, just north of Hall Rd/M-59. It's a great place to grab a bite if you're headed to the AMC Forum 30 for a movie, or if you happen to live on the Upper East side. They do a couple of combo platters that are a really great deal (enchiladas, tacos, burritos plus beans and rice) and all your other mexican favorites. A family owned restaurant with a real authentic feel.

I absolutely love this restaurant. I have lived down the street from them for 6 years, and the quality of their food has remained the same. I am particularly picky about Mexican food because I lived in Mexico for 4 months some years ago, and theirs is the real deal for sure. My favorite dish is their enchiladas suizas. They are awesome! Their nachos would be my second favorite. Make sure you order the small size unless you haven't eaten anything for two days prior. The staff is friendly and it is never a long wait for my take-out food to be ready. If you like good Mexican food, this is definitely the place to go.

Had one each of al pastor, carnitas and barbacoa tacos. All excellent! At $8 , the Golden Marguerita was a tad on the pricey side, but really normal for the area, and it was very good :) The Tres Leches cake was a sweet cap on the whole meal. I enjoyed it all thoroughly.

It seems as though the prices are going up and the portions are going down. The service leaves a bit to be desired, and this is coming from someone who frequents this establishment often. Still, it's my favorite place to grab Mexican food.

Stopped by here for dinner after yelping for a good Mexican restaurant. Service was very good. Food was just okay. I was really disappointed considering the good reviews here. Tortilla soup was great, tamales were very dry with very little meat. Taco was okay, but the meat was again very dry.

We have been visiting here since we lived down the road many moons ago (pre fire and margaritas!) The family run restaurant is always flavorful and just what we are craving. Loved watching the family grow over the years! Highly suggest the Chile Rellanos and tamales! Their sangria and margaritas are fresh and not super sweet!

My all time favorite Mexican Resturant. I always recommend my friends. I order the beef quesadilla and love it. The chips and salsa are great and make sure you order Horchata. Also make sure to save room for dessert because the fried ice cream is AMAZING!

Went here on the recommendation of friends and glad we found it! I'm picky about chimichangas -- the only place I knew of that had the kind I like was Taco Loco in Shelby, a bit of a trek for me. Ordered the chicken chimi at Azteca and was not disappointed. The ranchero sauce was different in a good way, not as smoky as most, and a bit tangy. The three salsas that came with our chips were not just mild, medium, and hot; each had an individual flavor along with a heat index. Can't say much about the beans and rice that came with the dish, but really no place around here has beans/rice worth writing home about. The service was quick, and the owner stopped at every table (on a Friday night) to ask how everything was. Definitely will come back again.

Azteca's is five minutes from my daughter's apartment. She had never tried this restaurant so my husband and I took her out to dinner here. I've usually go to the Azteca's near 14 Mile and Groesbeck. They have a fantastic sauce (white sauce) that I love which they serve with the chips. This restaurant did not have the white sauce and I wasn't crazy about the sausa sauces they did have. They were okay, but nothing special. The food was good. I had enchiladas with the green sauce. The service was awesome. The young man who served us was friendly and polite. II would definately go back. My husband loves tamales and he was happy that they had them on the menu. The restaurant has a full bar, too.

Great food and great service. Today we went there and the food was great. My 4 year old spilled her glass of soda. One of the mexican pineapple bottle drinks. I don't usually get Mexican food when we eat out because my husband is not overly fond of it. However, because it was my birthday, I got to pick. I found this restaurant on the Internet and it was close to the movie theatre so we decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did. I had Chicken Fajitas and my husband did a "create your own combo" plate. We started with chips and a "trio" of queso, bean dip, and guacamole. Of course margaritas to accompany and Fried Ice Cream for dessert. Everything was excellent and the service was very, very good. My husband even enjoyed his dinner, although he was very jealous of my wonderful fajitas and said he would try that next time. He said "next time"! That is high praise! The prices were extremely reasonable. Definitely give this place a try.

I went here for my birthday a couple weeks ago with my family. Every time another person in my party would arrive, the owner/cook would come out to talk about his specials of the night. Between the 8 of us, we ordered all 3 specials and everything was delicious. My aunt and I got the shrimp burrito with a side of sauteed vegetables. My boyfriend, dad and uncle got the habanero steak fajita. They all loved that. My mother got the pollo relleno. She said that was really good. I will definitely be going back. My aunt, uncle and grandfather all got their margaritas and they loved them.

Not something I would have ever ordered, but I asked what the most popular item on the menu was and this was i - the California Burrito. Carne Asada, pico de gallo, guacamole, cilantro, and... French fries. Again, not something typical for me, but it was delicious. the portion was extremely generous and I was able to give some to both of the people of was with. We ordered a sopapilla for dessert and it was more than enough for the three of us to share. My friends both had margaritas and the loved them. Their dishes were also very, very tasty (my friend is still talking about the puffy taco). Do yourself a favor and go!!

Unsure why they have so many stars. Wasn't bad but wasn't great. Just a run of the mill Mexican place. I also knocked off an extra star because they didn't have black beans. I'm being super picky I know.

Really enjoyed the nachos with beef. It was a teensy bit salty, but they were delicious. I liked how they diced the green peppers, onions and tomatoes. Peach lemonade was just okay, but I'd definitely would return.

This has been our go-to restaurant for over 10 years. The owners really care about your experience and the quality of their food. You will see them each and every time you visit. The Tiajuana tacos and pastor tacos are my favorite. The Tres Leches cake is also amazing.

In my personal opinion, the best Mexican place in the area that I have tried. They are medium sized at the end of a plaza. We usually do takeout from here because toddler. It's so much more relaxing to let your child rip apart 8 oz of tasty guacamole from the comfort of the bathtub. Whole my son demolishes guacamole, I am either eating the Mexican style tacos, a chimichunga or nachos. Everything I've had there has been yummy and fresh. I like the salsa the best. They have a big salsa selection, but I like the hot and the verde the best.

Don't confuse this place with the chain it will be your downfall to horrible food!!! Azteca's Margarita Bar and Grill is by far my favorite place to go! The owners treat you like family and the food is made fresh daily. Haven't found one thing on the menu that I didn't like. Did I mention the full bar?? How about the El Ray Challenge that features a 7lb burrito? Now I wait patiently and eagerly for my California Burrito.

The food was good but I have had better. Loved having three salsa's I just wish the chips were made in house. The owner was very charming and funny and that is why I gave this place 5 stars. I does not matter what the food is like if the front of the house is not up-to-par. They certainly treat you very well here.

I've eaten here a few times and I've never left disappointed. I just tried the grilled steak chimichanga, I would most definitely get that again. The California burrito was amazing the first time I tried it, but you have to come with your appetite it is huge but full of goodness. The cheese deep is a little too much for me, but I did enjoy the bean soup. I have only tried this location in Michigan and have yet to go to another, but I'm sure I will soon.

Nice little hole in the wall. Great service and the food was pretty good as well. My one complaint was the house margarita was missing any trace of tequila. That was disappointing since most people raved about how amazing they were. My advice is to order a shot on the side. I will say that I love how they did the salsa, pour/squirt as much as you like. I would definitely go back but not for their margaritas.

Having lived in LA for most of my life, I thought I'd never find good Mexican food in Michigan, I was wrong. This place has some real Mexican food. Margaritas here remind me of Los Cabos. I come to find out this is a family owned business ran by real Mexicans from Mexico City. Doesn't get more authentic than that. Great food, prices and service. Every time I come to this place(like once a week) it will remind me of LA!

Waitress was very helpful with suggestions. I had steak fajitas which were really good. They came on a sizzling platter, and I was given the choice of corn or flour tortillas, (I really like that since I prefer corn over flour). Chips were OK, but the green salsa was a definitive hit! Hubby had the Aztec combo which, while very good, could have been a bit hotter (temperature, not spice). In their defense, they forgot and put sour cream on the dish, and my husband can not have sour cream. They immediately noticed the error and corrected it very quickly! Very apologetic. No complaints on that front, mistakes happen, it's how you correct the mistake that shows a true worth of a restaurant staffer. Had they offered dessert, my husband works have caved and gotten it. But, they didn't ask, and I was fine without.... It's OK, we stopped and I got him an ice cream at Erma's on the way home!

The staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. The cook/owner came out during our meal to ask how things were. They worked really hard to make us happy and seemed to greatly value our opinion. The house margarita was also very good and I was told that the specialty margarita is even better. I will definitely try it out on my next visit.

They really have great food - their biggest problem is they can be painfully slow some nights. Our last time took almost 2 hours. I hope that does not continue.. Things to go for: - chips and salsa are fresh and good tasting - guacamole is very good - several good soups (Tortilla soup especially) - Fish tacos are so good - good fajitas

We just moved to Michigan and have struggled to find good mexican food up here. We were starting to think Taco Bell might be the best we could find but a friend advised us to try Azteca's. Food and drinks were amazing! It's a family ran business. The owner is the head chef and comes out to each table to ask how their meals were. Great place, great atmosphere, definitely going back.

I am a gringo from southern California. Yelp had high praise for this place. More spice than I anticipated. The more the better. They had fresh avocado slices for my combo plate. Topped off with flan...custard for those that do not know this dessert. Great service.

What a wonderful surprise. Aztecs is our new favorite Mexican restaurant. Rather unassuming from the out side, you'ed drive right by the place and never notice it. Once you enter you are surrounded by a very clean and comfortable atmosphere. The staff if very friendly and happy to answer any questions that you might have. The menu items are not the regular Tex max items you find in many chain restaurants or Wannabes. The authenticness is very evident. Full bar. I had the Aztec combo with mango lemonade and my friend had the Tijuana taco dinner. Both were very filling but not over the top. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Can't wait to try other menu items.

Had a coupon, so we decided to try this place out. We LOVE Mexican food. Went on a Saturday, somewhere in between 6-7pm. Wasn't busy. We were greeted right away. Given chips and salsa when we sat down. Salsa was very good. Waiter was nice. I ordered a blue margarita to drink. They ran out of the stuff that turns it blue, but it was still good. The manager asked me to take a drink first to see if I wanted it, if not she would make me something else. I thought that was nice. But I ended up sticking with it. We started with the nachos. They were very tasty. I ordered the puffy shredded chicken tacos, and my husband ordered the California burrito. I really liked my tacos and rice. My husband liked the California burrito, but felt it was a little small. Prices seemed a tad high, but nothing crazy. The only negative thing was that the server never offered us refills on the chips. Other than that, I really enjoyed the food. It is a little far from us, but I would really like to come back one day.

We had this restaurant on our list of places to try for a while. We read the good reviews, and were excited to try it. We visited on a Tuesday, the restaurant was empty at 5pm. This should have been our first clue to leave. The chips and salsa are ok, not great. We ordered some tacos and a combination plate. The food was not enjoyable. Flavors and quality were lacking. My son was served completely raw chicken tenders, I'm talking pink, raw chicken breast. They compensated by apologizing and giving us two desserts. The flan was ok, the dessert nachos were good. Management was very apologetic about serving the raw chicken, but the overall food just fell short.

We love this place. The lovely family that runs it are always pleasant and helpful and fun to talk to. The food is always good, we mostly try something new each time but the highlights have been the shrimp burrito, fajita quesadilla and the green chili roasted corn and cheese soup which they sampled last night (11/5/14). Either way it's a good place for good food and you always feel appreciated and cared for!

Good Mexican food. The service was great. I think it was one of the owner who just gave me a pitcher of water when she saw there was a lot of ice in cup. That takes real foresight. I am a big water drinker when I eat. This is the best in the area.

Azteca's is an excellent place to eat Mexican. I visited recently after several years away. The restaurant has moved to a larger space, but the food is the same. Right at the start, you get bottles of hot and mild salsa on your table. These fresh salsas are excellent and you may even want to mix them together. The chips are also light, crispy, and fresh. The one amazing dish that you must try is the fajitas. The steak is spiced and flavored incredibly well (you can also get chicken or a combination). You can choose either corn or flour tortillas. The fajitas make a great meal for two. This is one of the meals I would always want to have when in the area.

We came here during lent and could not eat meat so we can not wait to come back and try other menu items.

Just the nicest owners. Clean restaurant with good authentic food, but not so authentic that you have to be Mexican to enjoy it. Everything is always super fresh and they even serve alcohol now! Their guacamole is amazing!

I haven't been here in a long time but I remember the food was awesome. It was one of my favorite Mexican restaurants next to Mi Pueblo.

Ridiculous.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
