You know what Dairy Queen has going for it? Blizzards. You know what this particular Dairy Queen has working against it? Everything else. The parking lot is a disaster waiting to happen--small, with cars zooming in from multiple entrances. There is usually a line here, which means waiting outside. It would be great if they posted a large menu out there. Since there isn't a menu outside, the line moves slowly as people decide what they want when they pretty much step up to order. The staff appears to be entirely made up of disinterested teenagers with no customer service training. One thing to know is that this DQ doesn't offer the burgers, salads and other "meal" options many do. They do have hot dogs: koegels, which are great if you're from Michigan and are into that sort of thing, but bad if you don't eat pork. All that said, the next time the kids want Blizzards, of course we'll be back.

This store sits on a wedge of Saline property on Michigan Avenue, opposite the Cancun restaurant, so it is easy to stop by for dessert. I didn't grow up eating DQ. My parents were Stroh's fans, so I don't have the sense memories that the other people waiting to get their treats have. The line was long but moves very fast. The store is staffed by college-aged girls that move quickly and professionally. I stopped by to try the S'mores Blizzard. The people around me were reminiscing about Dilly Bars and other treats so I hoped that this would be good. My verdict? Meh! A strong graham taste and some chocolatey squares does not evoke the campfire treat. I ended up throwing away half (why waste the calories on something you don't like). For my money, try the Schwan's S'mores ice cream. It's alot more fun!!!

We like to come here with the dog. (Dogs can't go inside the building.) She gets a little ice cream from us, and a lot of attention from the other people at the Dairy Queen. There are picnic benches outside, so you can sit and relax while you eat your cone.

The staff here is always friendly and this makes such a nice treat during the work day or in the evenings. My husband and I live close by, so I'm sure we will be walking up here quite a few nights in the summer time as well : )

I used to patronize this DQ every day during the summer months, when I was in junior high and later on through my high school years. This was the place to visit in Saline, as all the good looking girls worked there are one time or another. Back then, this was place to be "seen" in town. The last time I stopped by this place several years ago, they still severed their famous foot-long hot dogs. The Saline DQ is what is known as a "Limited Brazier," where they can serve certain food items not found at regular stores. That being said, I really loved their chili-dogs that were made with real chili that used beans. Topping off one of these foot-longs with freshly chopped onions, was a trip to heaven. On those really hot summer days, nothing cools you off more than a Mr. Misty. Not a day went by when I didn't drop by and buy one back then. Sadly, some of those flavors are no longer available today. Such as, Fruit Punch, Orange, Pink Lemonade, Strawberry, and Watermelon. In addition, the Saline DQ offered a Misty Slush they called "Suicide." This was a combination of all the available flavors in one large-sized slush.
