Because I've been going to Shores Inn for years, I'm giving it four stars, but my last experience there wasn't one of my better ones. I had ordered a medium cooked mushroom pretzel burger, instead I got a burger smothered with onions and no mushrooms that was overcooked. Since I was so hungry, I ate the burger but not under I was halfway through it, did I realize it wasn't what I had ordered. The waiter never came back to check on how our dinner was until I was through with the burger. When I had the opportunity to tell him I had gotten the wrong burger, he offered to have another one made. Too little, too late. Had he stopped by sooner, I'd have gotten another one. But, like I said, I have been going to Shores Inn for a long time and always have great food, but the service could definitely be improved upon, especially shortly after they deliver your food to make sure it was satisfactory.

I drive by this place often when leaving the Marina from a day on the lake. Finally got around to checking it out one night. Food was good, drinks were good but service was shit. I'll give it another shot again in the near future but I'm not big on waiting a long time for drink refills and getting the check to pay when the waitress has only two tables to check on. We'll see how round two goes and I'll update soon

On a recent trip to Shores Inn, I found it to be a pleasant dining experience. As a I drank a cold Two Hearted Ale, our group of three feasted on spinach artichoke dip -- and it was some of the best dip I have ever had anywhere. It was thick and full of flavor. As for my main course, I got the taco salad and it is HUGE for under $10. I usually finish all my meals, but after the artichoke dip, a few fries and a couple fettucini noodles on another plate, I was stuffed. I live real close to this place now and would like to come more often. FYI, they have trivia at 9 p.m. on Mondays ...it goes well with the many TVs they have for the Tigers, Red Wings and Monday Night Football. They play real good background music as well (if you love classic rock, especially).

I don't know why this place has such low reviews... Our server, Brandin, was awesome, great pizza, burger and fries... Also saganacki (not sure how to spell that) with super soft, fresh pita bread was delicious.
(5)Michael S.
This place is alright. Avoid nights, it's a young crowd with super loud music. Food is decent. $7.50 for a dirty blonde? That's a huge rip off that they should be ashamed of.
(2)Keristyn H.
I come here all the time because they normally have really good food, but I drive out here for a late night snack and it didn't satisfy. I ordered nachos; the chips were stale and they weren't cooked all the way through. On top of that, it took about 20 minutes before I was greeted or served my drinks (to make matters worse it's a slow night). There is no excuse... I won't be back for awhile.

We (my wife and I) tried this place for lunch today. The place is beautiful. We ate outside and it was very nice as well. We also had a wonderful waitress who was attentive and great. I had a burger and it was very decent. No complaints. Is it the best in town, absolutely not. It was quite edible and it came the way I ordered it. My wife had some chili that tasted really good as well. She had the "all you can eat" salad deal. The salad looked great. I would definitely eat here again should the opportunity arise.
(4)Kelly A.
Food is mediocre at best. Awesome servers, bartenders have always been good. Good hang out location when I lived out there.
(3)Devon T.
I'm so not a burger lover, my BF said I had to try it...I did...and now, thats all I order!! Before that I was hooked on their fish & chips. Great atmosphere
(5)Cyndi J.
I came here for an event put on my Wine & Canvas. (Disclosure: This review is not a reflection on Wine & Canvas as a company. They were great.) To be honest, I was never a huge fan of this place for food but they do have a great beer selection. I actually came here for my first legal beer wit my dad! However this time, service was slow and not very welcoming. They do have the space for the event they hosted which is convenient. I'll go back for events like this but not sure for anything else.

I like Shores Inn. I would like to love Shores Inn. You tell someone "9 mile & Greater Mack" and they look at you funny, until you mention the Shores Inn. It's a local landmark and overall a solid restaurant. The food is fine and they have a great beer selection. No complaints there. In fact, I have no complaints at all. It's a solid, all around, good ol' American restaurant/bar in St Clair Shores. Why three stars? It doesn't excel at anything. The food is reliable. The beer is cold. Although it's nearby, I still find myself seeking something more. I recommend it to those looking to go out to spend time with their old college buddies, not someplace to take a date. It's a come-as-you-are, down to earth establishment. It's never too loud and there will be something on tap you'll enjoy. They even have trivia one night per week. It's a great addition to St Clair Shores and I hope they continue to do well.
(3)Jeff R.
Decent bar food. Super loud DJ on Friday Nights. $7.50 for Atwater Dirty Blonde bottles (its only $4.25 in Royal Oak). Draft beer was flat. Drinks tasted like dirty soda lines. $100 tab for 1 Nacho, 1 turkey sandwich, 5 beers, and 3 whiskeys Not going back anytime soon. There are a lot of other places that my $100 bill will get me a lot farther.
(2)Kevin C.
My wife and I both had the Rueben on a pretzel bun. Very good! I also had the boneless wings tosses in Asian sauce...MONEY!
(3)Peter R.
This place is the worst! We had to send back a meal because of 2 long black hairs runing thru it. The wait staff took the plate back to the kitchen and the manager returned the same plate without the hair in about 45 seconds! Really?? The reuben was just sad, soggy, just a luke warm mess. What a disappointment.
(1)Natalee N.
I used to eat here often in the past as the food is decent, and service was only occasionally bad, and location was convenient. However, the service has gotten worse over the years and after repeated bad service...ie being seated and not served for over 20 minutes, waiting unreasonably long time for a bill, server not bringing correct order...I have given up! I will NEVER eat here again.
(1)Becky N.
Had my sister's baby shower here, and they went above to make the experience a great one for all. They even let our big party get happy hour prices, and stopped the smoking on the patio so she wouldn't have to inhale the smoke. Customer service was A+
(5)Lindsay P.
This was our first visit here, we went for a birthday lunch. They had a Prime Rib special, which most of us had. I started with chicken noodle soup which I enjoyed, it was packed with stuff. Next came the Prime Rib, it was delicious! The staff was very friendly and on point. Overall it was a very good experience and we will most likely return.
(4)Blake W.
Good food and beer and the staff is very friendly. The weekend night life isn't bad either. This place is a good time especially in the warmer months.
(3)Mary Z.
We went for Easter & it seemed fine but took a long time to get the food. We went back for my sons BD May 6 & 2 of us got ribs, other big burger. They never brought bread. My ribs were super fatty & smothered in sauce as was the other persons. Also looked like a 1/4 rib & not a 1/2. My rice was undercooked & crunchy, ogh break a tooth crunchy, & the vegs were almost raw & very soggy like freezer burned, microed & tossed on the plate. They hardly asked if we needed anything & the bill was very high for such lousy food. Well I won't be going back there anymore, maybe thats why the place was deserted both times we went. Also place seemed old fashioned & not so clean (wonder what the kitchen looks like).
(2)Kelly S.
Stopped in tonight for dinner at 6pm, just missing happy hour. Ordered burgers and some great craft beer on tap. The atmosphere in the area we sat, high tops near the windows, was bar-noisy but not obnoxiously. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was perfectly cooked and the beer was cold and delicious! Will definitely be coming back!
(5)Jan N.
Haven't had anything here that I haven't liked yet. Chicken Caesar Pita is great. burgers are great, just had the seafood chowder (on Tuesdays) which was wonderful!
(4)Will B.
This place is a solid three stars and boarders on four. I really don't see how anyone can complain about "value" here. Sure, they renovated the place, and sure prices wen't up about 10%, but they went from being dirt cheap to average. I was there last night and they Labatt and Labatt Light bottles on special for $2.50, and flavored vodkas for $3.00. I don't think it's exactly "gouging" to charge $4 for a 32oz beer, and personally I would rather pay an extra $0.25-0.75 per drink in a nicer, newly renovated place, than save $2.00 on my final tab and eat and drink in a dingy, smelly, dusty rathole (not that I don't have my favorite dingy, smelly, dusty favorite ratholes!). Good food... Their fajitas are surprisingly good (but a little greasy), good burgers, good drink specials and friendly staff. It's a solid 3 star joint, and boarders on 4 stars.
(3)Vince H.
First visit. I'm going to be challenged to have all 100 beers!!! I cannot comment on the food as I did not have any. However, I found that they bartender was very helpful in explaining the many types of beers available and even provided suggestions on where I might start my journey after asking some good questions on what type of beers I have already tried.
(4)David M.
What can I say but meh...I wouldn't go out of my way to visit here. Service was pretty average, food was average, pricing on the food was a bit high. I think they had cheeseticks for like 8$ which is a bit pricey to me. Ive been there a few times but wouldn't as I said go out of my way to go there. If its local to you then you have a decent bar around the corner from you with decent food and service. Nothing really jumped out at me as above average. The interior is nice and spacious though which is better than I can say about other local places.
(3)Bob R.
I've been here more times than I can count. Food is usually good and not too pricy. Happy hour is great with buy one, get one appetizers and dollar off drinks. For families there's a decent dining area away from the bar area, but the bar area is where it's all at. Good selection of TVs and a nice seating area with booths as well. It's a good atmosphere to watch sporting events and such. You can usually find coupons in circulars and such for buy one lunch/dinner and get second for free (up to $7) which really makes for a good value - two drink minimum though. Good thing about this place is you can get a really good burger or even a salmon dinner, which you might find at higher-class restaurants. I say try it if you are on the fence.
(4)Panda T.
Food was decent. The service however was the worst. My boyfriend ordered a flying dog raging bitch, our waiter brought him the wrong beer. He really wanted to try the other one so when he pointed out the mistake the waiter actually seemed mad and made him point to which beer he was talking about. My boyfriend for some reason felt bad and told the guy we'd still take it anyway even though the waiter never admitted the mistake or apologized. The waiter also never came back to see how we were doing after receiving our meals except for tossing some napkins on our table while walking by. I thought he at least would have comped my non alcoholic beverage for the mistake but not even that. I doubt I'll be back and I certainly wouldn't recommend the place.
(2)Chris B.
The beer was sub-par. And I mean the bottled beer! While they have a decent selection, when I checked the expiration date of the beer (which tasted a bit off ), I saw it was long passed. The good news? The waitresses are nice and the Arrogant Bastard ale just passed its date. Come in and enjoy a beer on the house! Just point out the expiration date. Enjoy
(2)Jennifer M.
This place has excellent food and beer selection! Their spinach-artichoke dip is amazing. :-)
(5)Katie H.
I have such fond memories of this place. My friend and I would come here every Thursday for happy hour. We'd share some spinach dip (yes I am a spinach dip addict and this is one of the best in the WORLD) and saganaki - appetizers are 2 for 1 during happy hour - and a few pitchers of beer. I still come here when I am in town - it's a decent place to grab some munchies and beer. The service generally blows, but the food is good and pretty cheap. The beer selection is great, and that's really what you're coming for anyway, right?
(4)Dan R.
Other review are correct. They have a wide beer list but everything you order will be out of stock. The service was awful here the 3+ times I've been for dinner. I usually order the Perch, which is great. Obviously a lot of potential here (or they're riding on their laurels...).
(2)Ricky P.
Good food. Good alcoholic beverages. Good atmosphere and the servers are all pretty cool. It just all gets a little stale when you regular it.
(4)Heather B.
Most of the prior posts already said what I was thinking. Shores Inn has and has ALWAYS had poor service. Back in the day the food wasnt too bad, but that could also be that at 21 I was not the little food snob I am now. lol. Because it just does not work for me now at the tender age of 31. The only reason I would go here now would be for the beer - GREAT selection. However, my husband refuses to even go have a drink here - mainly due to the crowd (as mentioned before Walmart Wolverines and dirty old men). lol
(1)Ryan L.
I went to the Shores Inn a couple times this summer. I'm not from the "East Side" so I hadn't been here before, but I met a friend here. We went on a Thursday night. There were decent drink specials. The beer was cold. The food was also pretty good. I liked the spinach artichoke dip. The only problem was that they had a DJ spinning all night. Now, this isn't a dance club, it's a bar/restaurant. It was a little weird to have a DJ playing the hits of the last two decades. Also, it was annoying because it was SO LOUD. I went with a friend to talk and hang out and we had trouble hearing each other. It was annoying. The place wasn't bad, but I have no real reason to go back.
(3)Sondra B.
I don't know why so many people don't like Shores Inn. I like it. They're pricing for regular beers are $3-$5 like any other bar, but they do have more expensive beers from $6-$10, depending on the alcohol level on them. Again, just like any other bar. I think their food is good too, but I normally go there for drinks. The only thing that bothers me about Shores Inn is how cramped it can sometimes get certain nights in the bar area. I like how they have the 6 person tables, but when they're all filled it, and the booths, plus the waiters and waitresses getting around, and people standing hanging out, it's so hard to move in that area. Plus the two person tables right by the bar. I wish there was just a couple more feet in the walk way areas to be able to move around easier.
(4)Mike W.
A staple of St. Clair Shores and Grosse Pointe. The food (depending on your order) ranges from delicious perch to OK bar food. The happy hour (3-7 .. I believe) offers good drink special and buy one get one free apps.
(4)Bob N.
Overcooked walleye. One of the best fish to eat was butchered by the "cook". Dried out with plenty of pin bones to pick thru. The apps were tasty, with marsala beef tips being very good and saganaki being good as well. Service from our server was hit and miss with more miss, reaching over peoples plates to get dirty dishes, without so much as a excuse me, once in the middle of the person eating a forkful of food. Shores Inn i think cannot make up it's mind what it wants to be, either restaurant or sports bar. Make a choice and run with it, because playing the middle isn't helping either side.
(2)Kacie M.
I live in Boston now, so it's been quite a long time since I've been to the Shores Inn. I was here two days before Christmas and it was packed. The atmosphere was nice, though loud, and the drinks were good, but the service was pretty bad. I understand from the people I was with that that's pretty normal. It took forever to get drinks, the waiter brought a drink that wasn't ordered, and messed some orders up. He was nice, but that doesn't make up for the poor service.
(3)Carole H.
This place is a St. Clair Shores institution. Growing up in SCS, I was familiar with Shores Inn long before I was even close to old enough to enjoy their bar scene. While they definitely have made their mark as a nightlife spot, Shores Inn has a large dining area and an extensive menu (burgers, pastas, salads, & other standard American fare) that makes it appropriate for families as well. While I wouldn't say the food is outstanding, it is solid. The only time I wasn't thrilled with something (steak bites appetizer) both the server and manager were practically tripping over themselves to offer us something else we'd be happier with in exchange. The bar area is sizable, and every night has at least some sort of drink special. Their beer selection is probably their biggest claim to fame - 150 different beers, and if you sample them all you will be entered into their "Hall of Foam." Quizzo is hosted Mondays at 9:00, which is always a good time. On busy nights and weekends the crowd can get a little young and frat boy-ish, but hey, they can't help that. Truthfully I'd come to this place more if I didn't run into 10 people I graduated HS with on each visit. The bartenders are cool, and it's a pretty good scene to chill and drink with some friends.

Just got back from THE SHORES INN, had the triple Decker club sandwich, pretty good, made it just how I like it ( the only thing is you have to order cheese if you want it which is a extra charge, some places put cheese on it some dont...???) I also ordered there house fries SOOOOOO GOOOOD. I had a coupon from the entertainment book buy one get one deal The other person who came with me got the cheese burger and onion rings and they said it was SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOD to. I have been here a handful of times but this the first time I got to yelp about it. Our waitress was friendly and professional, after talking to her a little while I found out that they have a couple of Seniors who love there food but have a hard time getting around. they call in a carry out and the waitress keeps a eye out for them and will come out and handle the payment and give them there carry out all while the customers stay in there car, WOW that's service, it sounds like its not a regular thing so maybe call and ask for a manager first before ordering.
(4)David R.
More of a "grown-ups" bar than some of the places in SCS close to the Shore. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of younger folks here, but it's a little more comfy and classy than the average Shores bar. Maybe it has something to do with the super high ceilings and abundance of wood and brick, which give it a "Cheers" kinda feel. Mucho craft beers, big and plentiful TV screens and keno. Good staff and occasional live music. A little covered patio for smokers outside. They have a bar side and a dining side, one side loud (bar) and the other more conversation-friendly.
(3)Edgar O.
I spend some time here and I have to admit it's my favorite bar in all of Detroit and it's suburbs. Drinks are fast and cold. The staff is awesome. If you're not sure what you wnt to drink, just ask, they will come up with something delicious. If in doubt, ask for Erika, she is truly a mixologist!
(4)Bar B.
Shores Inn Food & Spirits located in St. Clair Shores, MI is a nice looking bar, but about as average as it gets. There was really nothing that jumped out to make a guy want to come back. The burgers were decent but nothing to write home about. The 9 Mile Decker Burger (the unofficial house burger) had 2 1/3lb Angus patties w/ bacon and American cheese on a Kaiser bun - $8.99 Burger- 3 Service- 3.5 Price - 3 Overall - 3.25 The Pretzel Burger came recommended with grilled mushroom and on a pretzel bun (surprise)! The bun was awesome but the burger lacked seasoning. Burger - 2.5 Service - 3.5 Price - 2.5 Overall - 3 This was a nice place that seemed like it could jump off on the weekends. We went during the week around dinner time and it was kind of slow. This particular night they were giving away coach purses. Something I have never seen before, but hey... this is why we go to different bars to see different things and try different burgers!
(3)Erika V.
Let me start off by saying the food here is pretty decent. The wait staff, however, is not. We used to go here all the time - every single weekend. It used to be amazing there. I don't know what has happened within the past year or so but it's terrible now. We've tried many times to keep coming back but we've given them too many chances. The waiters/waitresses seem to always have an attitude. They never come back to the table. The last straw was when we went in the other day and it was dead in there. We ordered our food and it took 40 minutes. No apology, no explanation, nothing. I told him that mine was wrong because they forgot to add bacon. I told him it was okay and asked to just take the bacon charge off the bill. AFTER I was done eating, he brought me a side of bacon and charged me for it and said he couldn't take it off the bill. lol. what the heck? It's a shame because it's so close to my house but I will never go there again.

I've given the Shores Inn a few chances to improve and sadly each time they fail. 1), the nachos- Horrible. I don't know what they put on the chips, but ewww. 2) Beer List- great variety, but they are always out of anything I decide to try. 3) service- gets worse with every visit 4) Attitude- couldn't be worse. I ordered a Jack & Coke, got the drink, picked up the hot glass and the bottom split and fall off the glass, soaking my lap and my suede jacket. I asked for another drink and a towel to clean up as much of the mess as I could. The waitress brought a wet towel and another drink at full price. I Give Up!
(1)Chris L.
Love this place. Used to come here all the time. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because the last time I was here the service was much to be desired. My wife was asking for suggestions for martinis and the bartender must have been new becuase she didn't have any besides the boring typical drinks that EVERY other place has. Food is pretty decent. I'm on the hall of foam (have to drink 150 different beers) so I have spent some time and money here. Like I said this place used to be a 5 now I think it has become a 4 lately becuase of thier service. I would still recommend this to anyone in that's in the area.
(4)Barbie M.
The food is pretty consistent here and they have stepped up the game on the service side. I have to agree with previous reviews the service here was horrible. So bad I had actually got up and got our drinks from the bartender myself because our server had disappeared for about 15 minuets after we had only ordered iced tea. Any-who! If you are looking for a good hot spot to hang with your peeps drinks 150 different kinds of beer and catch a game on the tube or just sit back and laugh this is a great place. Its a decent size they have a fairly large menu to satisfy all types and the drinks are always well made and the beers are icy cold. The only thing i don't like about this place is the ladies room. GRODY!!! I'm not going to say why. If you are a girl you know why! I have been going to Shores Inn forever and ever and I will keep going back. It's the perfect spot to meet up with your friends and tip off the night or even better place to end the night with the Travis just around the corner! ahaha!
(3)Chelsea W.
Shores Inn use to be place I would visit regularly where I could reunite with old friends and have a great bowl of French onion soup. Over the past year the service lacked acknowledgement, and graceful presents. It takes 20 mins everytime I come in to be acknowledged and when seeking management some excuse is always being stated. Food constantly wrong or cold. I come back thinking it will be better the next time but it's the same routine. It is sad to be writing this review but doesn't seem like anything else works. Shape up shores!!

Once a great neighborhood bar, but now you're paying for the remodel job with your pocket, your value, and your watered down experience. Read on if you'd like to hear what has happened. I used to be very proud to call myself a regular here. The bar staff and wait staff are amazing people, and most after six years are people I'd consider friends of mine. Something that has changed though is your pocket, your value, and your experience when you go there, all watered down, and because of this so has the normal crowd of patrons. This was a bar that I could walk in on any night of the week and without fail see six people I knew having a drink there. That's not the way it is now and with what has happened it shouldn't be. The regular crowd has begun to leave. The owners of this bar have steered it away over the last two years from the corner bar where everyone knew everybody, to an overpriced, underserved, uptight joke. The staple 32oz "boomba" mug has been dropped on non-Tuesday nights to a 28oz mug, all while kicking the price up $0.75 from $5 up to $5.75. No, you didn't read that wrong. You pay more money now for less beer. The "game pints" which are supposed to be some deal is up to $2.75 on Detroit game nights, as if I can't go a mile up the road to Sabby's and get a pint for $2 and/or a bottle for $1.50 on Detroit game nights. Liquor is no different, prices on well drinks rose from $3.75 to $4.00. Of course, then there is the fabled "Boomba" night, on Tuesday nights. This used to be the night to be here. I said before you could always run into at least six people you knew here on any night of the week, well on Tuesday nights you couldn't walk six feet without walking into six people you knew. Yet, systematically, over the last few years, the price for domestic boombas has risen from $3.25 to $3.95. The only price the owners kept the same was PBR, which is still at $2.95 for a boomba on a Tuesday night. Now I had kept going to the bar until recently as much as I could, but it wasn't because of the decisions that the owners have made, it was because of the bar and wait staff, the people that had become my friends over the last six years, such wonderful people. This is where I get into my assessment of "uptight". This was the bar where everyone knew everyone, but now, the staff isn't allowed to hug the people that come in because there is a recently added "no touching" rule in effect, as well as no more multiple earrings, no more colored jewelry...etc etc etc. This isn't the fun place I'd go a few nights a week to grab a beer, watch the game, talk with friends, and visit the staff that was working. This isn't a St. Clair Shores bar anymore. It looks and feels (especially on the pocket), like a polished up façade for Grosse Pointe Shores and Grosse Pointe Woods residents. Without fail if it was someone's birthday that was on shift in the ER at St. John, we were heading there to celebrate. Those days are long gone at this point. Yes, the owners gave the bar a small facelift inside, and it looks nice, but you're paying for it in your pocket, your value, and your watered down experience at what was once a great SCS bar.
(1)Brian S.
The food is OK. Unfortunately, this beer bar is not a great place for beer lovers. The beer was flat, and the taps seemed in need of attention.
(3)Brad E.
I feel crummy writing bad reviews, but if there's an issue it need to be fixed, AND it's not like I'll be showing my face there again, so oh well. First and foremost, if you want to pride yourself on your beer selection, ONE: train your staff be knowledgeable on your beer. 160 beers (or so you claim) is NOT a huge beer selection, if I order I Reissdorf, know what it is. TWO: have that shit in stock! I ordered THREE beers from the so called up to date beer list before I was able to pick something you actually had. THREE: Do some research, I'm sure your list was cool in 1990, but it's really nothing special. We have REALLY good breweries in MI, why not add some nice craft beer to the selection, Kunhenn, Shorts, Great Lakes, Mackinaw, Arcadia, Dark Horse, I could go on and on, get some! Next, why is it no establishment understands the concept of courses?! If I order a Caesar, and a Salmon Sandwich, NO, I don't want them at the same time. Finally, Our waitress WAS very nice, but not the most efficient. We waited no less then 20 min between when I asked for the check and when I finally had a credit card receipt to sign. Our food was gone, drank my beer, but was forced to sit and wait just to leave. Turnover, that's what brings in the $$, that and selling alcohol, and when one (me) doesn't receive their first drink until AFTER the food arrives, that's a problem. Sorry Shores Inn, you've got a looooong way to come. ps. My wife just reminded me to add that her fork was filthy in the flatware roll. So... someone looked at it, and decided to wrap it up anyway?!? But don't worry, I got up, walked to the server station and grabbed one MYSELF.
(2)Julie C.
Great place to watch a game and grab some bar food.
(4)Lorna D.
I've never had a problem with the service and the food has been pretty good, but there are a few too many beer signs, flatscreens, and puke-a shell necklaces happening for my taste. Loud, dark, and woody. But they do have beer, and it's damn cold! Family meets fratty.

The service is consistently bad for years, regardless of what time of day it is and how busy the place is. I've been here for lunch, when there was only six or seven people seated in Shores Inn and had to wait extended periods of time for anything. My favorite part is waiting for the extremely slow service, but seeing them horse around in the kitchen with each other. They should probably leave that kitchen door closed next time. And the funny thing is, the turnover with the staff is pretty high, so you'd think they'd eventually get good servers. The appetizers are tasty, but the entrees are hit or miss. I once went with my boyfriend and he ordered a cheeseburger medium-well and the hamburger was raw. It was as if the burger was put on the grill, flipped, and then placed on the bun. The drink specials are great though! Especially, Tuesday night $2.00 Boomba Night! And trivia on Monday nights is a good time, with Margarita and Mexican food specials. Also, if you're a beer afficiando, you'll love this place as they have over 150 different beers available.

High five, Shores Inn! When my parents divorced, my father was a bit of a fail in the cooking department, so he came here at least once a week for dinner and drinks. When my sister and I came over, he'd bring us along and sit at a booth. The servers would crack open a bottle of Pinot Grigio upon our arrival at the hostess stand. As a child, I was thrilled by the fact my chicken tenders came in a red cardboard car. As an adult, I was thrilled by the large bar selections and servers that acted like friends rather than waitresses. It's a great spot for reconnecting with old friends or making new ones. The multiple TVs make it an excellent spot to catch up on your Wings, Pistons, Lions (if anybody even cares about them), Tigers... Food is solid, though it has rarely been the focal point of my evenings here.

So it seems as though things have changed at the Shores Inn recently. This used to be my number 1 place to hang out, things got bad and now it seems to have gotten back to the good service that Shores Inn had in the past. They re decorated the interior and have a new manager. The food seems to have gotten a lot better and they also have most of their beers in stock, which for a little while was hit and miss.

Being from St. Clair shores, and living block away, I had to give Shores Inn a review. The apps are tasty, the food is pretty good most of the time. The burgers are really were they shine. I'm not sure if they still have the classic burger but it had ham on it, and in my book, ham on anything is yum. Where they really shine is their amount of beer. Last time I checked I think over 150+ different beers for you! I have about 100 on my checklist completed, so you know I've been there often... They also make a great Grey Goose dirty martini. Where they really suck... The wait staff... Over the past 10 or so years, I've seen sooooo many bad waiters and waitresses... Wait... Let me correct that... Waitresses... The waiters always seem very attentive, and on top of your orders. For some reason the waitresses suck! One time we had a party of about 16, and she didn't come back for over an hour... Guess who missed out on a massive tip... If your in SCS, and wanna grab a pint, I'd recommend it for sure.

Went to he Shores Inn Foods & Spirits for lunch today with the coworkers. The waitress said they recently got a new cook and he modified the menu. Well done new cook. The Texas Star lunch special, beef brisket on texas toast with caramelized onions on top was delicious. Especially with the price tag of about $8. The restuarant itself has a dimly light family restaurant style vibe to it. Monday's they have $5 burger deals too (burger, fries and a drink).

Good food, bad service. Beer selection appears to be wide, but they are usually out of stock on much of it. However, it is an Eastside institution in a good neighborhood.

I've come to Shores quite a few times, both on the bar side and on the restaurant side. I've only had one terrible experience there, but there are some points on which they could improve. Pros: - There are some good things on the menu. I am not a particularly adventurous eater, but I will come here specifically for a burger and fries. When I order medium, I expect to see pink in the middle, which is what I consistently get here. The burgers can be a bit greasy but they're delicious! I've had a lot of their appetizers as well. They are good, but none particularly memorable. - They have a fairly sizable beer selection of both domestics and imports, with their Hall of Foam challenge (drink 150 beers off the list, get your name on the wall and discounts for life) - Reasonable drink prices. This is one of the criteria for me when looking at a place. I usually don't have a ton of money to be swilling $14 martinis all night, so if they have decent prices and decent specials, it's definitely a mark in their favor! - Lots of tvs to watch the game. Cons: - Service is not always consistent here. A few friends and I once came here on a weeknight for a few drinks and some dinner. We sat on the bar side, but in the whole restaurant there were probably 15 patrons tops, and only a few of them were at the bar side of the restaurant. Our server came to our table, asked if we wanted anything to drink, took my order, then promptly bolted before the others at the table could order. About 20 minutes later I finally got my beer, and the others were finally able to order, and request menus. 20 minutes more, and they finally had their beers and we were ordering. Food took forever to get to us, our server was not attentive at all, and every time he came by to take a drink order, he'd do the same thing he did the first time--take one person's order then split. Half the time when we were trying to get his attention we'd look over and he'd be laughing with his friends. I don't mind someone visiting with their friends if it's slow, but try to tend to your tables as well. We have gotten better service there on completely packed nights than we did on that night where he was working what looked like our table and one other. - There is a DJ who comes on the weekends and for the size of the place, the music when the DJ is spinning is always way too loud. Can't have a conversation without shouting, having to lean right up on someone to be able to hear them...not the best. On top of that, it seems like songs are 100% request driven, so I have had to leave when a bank of 5-6 songs in a row were Nickelback and Kid Rock. I've heard it go from country to gangsta rap to Taylor Swift in a matter of minutes. Catering to everyone, I get it, but the transitions from one song to another should maybe be a little better thought out? - The crowd, especially on the weekends when it's crowded (and the one time I went to Boomba night during the week) leaves something to be desired. Lots of rowdy guys in their 20s getting sloppy and randoms. I don't like feeling like I'm at a frat party, unless I'm actually at a frat party. To sum it up, Shores can be a decent choice depending on what you're looking for. If you're looking for a good place to grab a burger and maybe hang out with some friends, it can work. If you want to have a good, romantic date spot or to go on the weekend and be able to have a conversation with your table, you might want to check out another place.

*EDIT*, updated 2/17/12 This has become a solid go to place for me again. The beer selection, great 3 years ago, has gotten even better. The bartenders I've had have been great. Burgers seem to have gotten better. Still haven't tried the chicken nachos in forever, but haven't really felt the need to. Atmosphere rocks and since there's an abundance of televisions there I've never had a problem getting whatever game I'd like to watch shown. Also looks to be having some remodeling done, so hopefully they'll fix up the bathrooms a bit...they look a mess. But otherwise, this place has improved from my last review a few years back. Previously: This used to be THE place to go to back in the day, but as the years passed it seems that the food just wasn't as good as before. Used to get the chicken nachos all the time and over the years the quality/quantity has gone down. The burgers are alright, nothing phenomenal though. Great beer selection! Bartenders and the servers are still great as well; out of the countless times I've been there over the years I can count on one hand the number of times the service was just so-so. A big plus is that even though smoking is still allowed in Michigan bars/restaurants, the ventilation system keeps the smoky atmosphere to a minimum. Good place to bring friends and chill out to watch a game, but not like it always was. More often than not you'll still have a good time.

I can't think of a single bad thing to say about Shores Inn. It has stood the test of time. When I was younger, going here just on the merits of the food alone. As I got older, the addition of beer was just one more good thing on top of all the rest. Every thing I've had here is great. Like, really great. The lincoln logs are the first thing I ever had at Shores, and something I've loved ever since my first try. They're like taquitos but not. Hard to describe, but an utterly delicious choice in appetizer! Great burgers, great sandwiches, decent chicken.... what else can I say? They have an excellent selection of beers. You can get really cheap domestics on tap and in bottles here. Besides that, you can get really good Belgian and German beers here as well - if you're a Hacker-Pschorr or Warsteiner fan, this is a great place to grab one or three!

Shores Inn is way overated. It's simply a bar and gill, which is cool-but the food isn't very tasty, and it is extremely over priced. The bar is packed with a bunch of sports fanatics on any game day/night. Be prepared for loud wise guys, oh and creepy guys offering you drinks. Don't be afraid to say no, their is always a couple of 40 yr old divorcees awaiting their moment. Go to cadiuex. Better crowd, excellent food.

well it used to be a good place to eat, things have gone down hill the food was a disappointment and also the staff. would not consider going back. if the food is good then you can ignore the staff but both were pretty bad.

The food is pretty good here. I keep going back despite consistently poor service due to their beer selection and food. Don't go for the wall of foam. They seem to have about 60% of the beer list in stock.

i'm not just writing this review because my awesome friend did before me. i'm also not copying everything she said ... even though i want to. i do agree that their spinach dip is PHENOMENAL! i can honestly say it is the best i have EVER had. i can't say much about the rest of their menu because i think i have only strayed from the appetizer's once ... maybe twice. but most of their appetizers are fantastic. with the exception of the calamari. don't get it here. a lot of my "early twenties" was spent in a seat at the bar at Shores Inn. If you're going here -- sit at the bar. or in the bar area. you don't want to miss out on that. They have a gigantic beer selection. They even have a "Wall of Foam" which is some sort of awesome beer drinkers club. it's a good place to go with a group. or with just your best friend. drink it up and trust me. try the spinach dip!

No complaints. Stopped by on a Tuesday night. Great waitress. Food came out fast. Beers were always full. Waitress was doting, checking in regularly. Burger cooked medium, medium ordered.
