Pretty good. Worth the money. I like the Singapore rice noodle dish. I've been there many times and will probably go again. Crab rangoon is the only thing I felt wasn't that great.

They made us wait three times as long as what they told us on the phone. And then they wanted to charge us for extra soy sauce packets!!! Cray. Horribly inefficient service

Canton Express is the first Chinese take-out place I've had after moving to St. Clair Shores 7 years ago. I'll have to admit, it was not what I am normally used to, having lived on the west coast most my life (Hawaii). A lot of it's appeal for me is 1) familiarity and 2) the location is minutes from my home. 3) It is my go-to place if I'm too lazy to cook. The woman who is a permanent fixture behind the counter is always friendly to me, unlike the other reviews I've read. She engages in conversation and is efficient in her constant busyness. This restaurant is popular for take out, so ordering in advance is suggested. Dining in is an option; they have 6 tables available, but I've never seen anyone eat at one of them. Food tastes fresh, and they ask how spicy you want your dish in advanced. The only times I've been disappointed in what I've eaten there was their egg rolls and once I had a dish that tasted overly salted. (a one time experience) I secretly wish I could ask them if they could just make me what they had for lunch or dinner. instead of the standard Chinese take out offerings, but that's just a fantasy and I never ask. Overall it's your typical Chinese take-out fare. I've worked my way around tasting different things on the menu and stick to the same things. In addition to the pork (char siu) with vegetables, we often order sweet and sour pork. I'm not a fan of sweet and sour, but my mother in law always orders it. I've tasted the breaded pork, it's freshly fried, not soggy. They put that dish in the to-go container with the sauce and vegetables separated from the fried pork to prevent from getting soggy. All the meats in the dishes I've tried are tender; the stir fried vegetables still hold some crunch. Funny enough, I order the Pad Thai from this Chinese restaurant. I don't know if it's on their on-line menu, but there's a sign on the counter that advertises it. Ok just be warned: it's not exactly pad thai; the noodles are more of a chow fun noodle than a pad thai noodle, but I often order it. I love noodles and since it's made to order (so it will take longer to make than the other dishes) I feel it's the freshest thing on their menu. Again, you decide on the heat level The tamarind and fish sauce flavor isn't as prominent as it should, but it comes with the garnishes that typically come with pad thai (fresh bean sprouts, chopped nuts, lime) and the chicken (or shrimp) is cooked well and there is a lot of it. My rating is actually a 3.5 but I gave a 4 for always being there whenever I needed a break from cooking.

Very average chinese food. Whatever you do, don't order the crab ragoons, there is virtually no crab inside. You will be disappointed! I know I was. Also, the egg rolls taste frozen, so it'll be cheaper if you by some from Aldi or Kroger. Not a fan of this place.

Ordered take out by phone. Two combo dinners, nothing crazy. They said fifteen to twenty minutes. 45 minutes later my husband was still waiting at the restaurant for our order. Then when it was finally ready the order was not even the right thing! He left. Can't review the food, just the service.

Basically it's carryout with only 3 tables. The food is really really good old skool Chinese. I ordered the Almond Chicken combo which includes fried rice and a egg roll, and a pint of S/S pork. Yummy. The only drawback is the egg roll, no one seems to make a good one these days. A/C was 2 huge chicken breasts with gravy, and the ss pork was the kind with the red ss sauce. Fried rice was a bit bland but it perked up with some soy sauce. People please do not use the packets of soy sauce or any soy sauce that contains anything hydrolyzed, look it up and you'll see why, ok I'm done ranting here. LOL

The absolute worst chinese food ever! Lets start with the fact that I paid extra for shrimp fried rice with my meal...and no exaggeration, I literally got 2 freakin shrimp in the whole rice order. The eggrolls are gross....taste like an old gym shoe and the fried rice was so dark and salty that it turned my stomach. My ABC was NOT cooked through, and let's not forget to mention the piles of pigeon crap that ur forced to dance around when entering and leaving the joint. I only went there because Peking Villa was closed. WON'T make that mistake again!!!

Ive been going to the place for over 10 years. It has been owned by the same family and I can't believe how consistent they are with their food. They know our name and ask how we are. We like getting sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork, and egg foo young. Sometimes the wait is a little long, I've had a 30 minute wait on a weekend, but it is always worth it. Keep in mind, this is a family run restaurant, not a corporate business.

Good take out will go back and try more. Ordered pepper steak and the eggs rolls were the kind I like with bean sprouts. Great Pad Thai!!! Great Service but very busy. Will definitely be going back for more.

Updating my review here. I'm tired of calling in to this place and being treated like crap. That old lady that owns the place is constantly a moody turd. If you don't want me to order anything, then don't answer the damn phone. Stop hiring angsty teen girls who answer the phone and make me feel like I'm trying to nail a fried egg to a tree when ordering simple things. I can easily find crappy Chinese food somewhere that they don't have abysmal service, and I will.

First time visit, prices were a little high but the flavor made it worth it, I got the Almond chicken dinner combo, the rice was a little on the dry side, the egg roll was pretty good, the chicken was plenty and juicy, the sauce was good and balanced, I saw a customer open her box of jumbo shrimp and it WAS jumbo, after she took a taste she said, MMMMMMMM. I will come back and try their General Tso, the inside is typical with a express style Chinese take out thou there are tables and chairs if you decide to eat there ( I think around 6 or more table with 4 chairs per table )

I was never a Chinese food fan, but I like this place...everything there that I have had is good. Clean little place and same lady always working the counter. Not much more to say. It's a Chinese carry out.

Just tried this today and it seems to be like every other Chinese food places in the area. The wait time was a little long and the bill for 3 dinners was about $35. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and it was not bad, better then other places that have S&S I would say, I would recommend Moy's for good Chinese! Out of the 3 of us it was 2 out of 3 say it was "ok" (My dad did not enjoy his Chicken and Vegetables)

Pretty good Chinese carry out! You can eat in, but there are only like 4-6 tables and not really set up for those looking to dine in. We have had pretty good luck ordering from this place. The Orange Chicken and Cashew Chicken are some of my favs.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
