Bars always offer some of the best people watching. The Pub didn't disappoint in this category. The night we were here there was an interesting line up of bands. It started with an acoustic indie rock band (The Thunderchickens), followed by an acoustic singer (Bub Fish) ending with a metal band (All For The Cause). Talk about strange crowds. Hippies and tattoo artists abound. There was even a guy in a World's Greatest Dad shirt and a plaid shoe wearing chic upset about the selection of lesbians Saginaw had to offer. All intrigue aside, the stage is small, but the drinks are large and strong. The bartender was amazing. What more is there to know?

One of the many bars in Old Downtown Saginaw. Kind of a small bar, but it gets busy on the weekends and even on the weekdays. Not good enough to be charging a cover but whatever. In a town that really doesn't have much going on this is a pretty safe bet that someone will be there hanging out. Beer prices are in the normal $2-3 range, was drinking some local Belgian Wheat for a $1 last week. Only downside is there is not a whole bunch of sit down space due to the size of the bar and the stage.

Home away from home. A good place to get lunch...good night atmosphere for bands...and the bartenders are simply amazing. My only bar choice.

This is one of my least favorite bars in Saginaw. It's always extremely crowded and they usually charge a cover. The space in front of the stage is pretty tiny and the crowd is always weird. Every time I come here I smell marijuana smoke wafting in from the smoking patio just beyond the stage. It's definitely a young crowd; I'm in my 30s and this is the only local bar where I feel out of place. A lot of good bands play here who I like to support, but this is just not my favorite venue. In general, most of the bars in Bay City are friendlier than the ones in Saginaw.

Best bartenders in town. Great live music. Also, make it in for lunch or dinner, as they have a great bar-food menu!
