We love this spot! It's small and limited for seating as they only have a small bar rail, but their burgers, sliders, and chicken sandwiches are all great...and that's not even mentioning the amazing old fashioned milkshakes they have!! You can call ahead or go in and order. Everything is made pretty quick and fresh for you and their staff is super friendly! I'm the most indecisive person and they are so patient with me while I decide - answering all my questions and making sure I'm happy with my choice!

I'm skeptical allowing myself to write a review for this place because I don't remember a time where I was in a sober and I decided to eat Little Bros. But I will let my patchy memories of this place guide me. Little Bros specializes in sliders and fries. They have a more diverse menu than that, but I would recommend sticking to those for your first time. They do them often and they are fantastic. Just as greasy as you want a slider to be and at a reasonable price with the combos that they offer. I'm a big fan of the chili cheese fries. Their chili is savory and never spicy but just the right consistency to be on fries. The cheese makes it a messy blob of heart clogging goodness. You can split one between two. If you come any time before midnight on a weekend this place is never packed and you can get in and out quick. If you come after the bars close be prepared to wait a while for your food while cramped into their place like a sardine. Still worth it. Parking around the place is all street parking, be prepared for that. And the employees are always very nice and tolerant of obnoxious people late at night. Overall: Best late night food you can grab in downtown Royal Oak. And it's not bad any other time either.

I have passed by this joint so many times and decided I needed to make a stop here with a friend for a quick dinner. I ordered the "famous" number two combo which was a basket of fries and two sliders. Cheese cost extra. The food hit the spot as I was craving greasy, homey food that night but I wouldn't come all the out here intentionally. This is a great joint for pre-gaming food or late-night munchies with quick and super friendly service. The location is great and the fries were deliciously crispy. My friend ordered the medium order of fries and out came what would be considered an extra large portion size in many other restaurants! There are also a ton of sodas to pick from to add to your meal or if you just want to stop by for a cool-off on a hot day.

I love it how all the little slider shops around town have their own unique personalities. Sometimes the personality involves improving upon the concept of something from a familiar chain. Much like Hunter House in Birmingham's "thing" embodies a perfection of the White Castle-style slider, one could present a case that Little Brothers "thing" is to improve upon the McDonald's formula. No clue if this was intentional, but to me Little Brothers sliders taste like I would imagine the burgers from the very first McDonald's burgers tasted, way back in the 1940's in California, before they had to alter their formula to accommodate a mass-produced supply chain designed to feed billions. I never tasted one of the OG Mickey D's as I was born in the 70's. But I bet they tasted something like this. Say what you will about McDonald's but I think there is something culturally defining to be said for their classic take on the basic American Cheeseburger. Little Brothers follows the formula but does it so much better. Similar-sized bun & patty, cheese (by request), and grilled onions, pickles, mustard & ketchup (unless you instruct them to leave any of these off, by why would you). Their fries also are like McDonald's fries (including that they can be inconsistent, yes, but when they're good they're really good). A couple of really cool non-McDonald'sy offerings are Deep Fried Ravioli (excellent) and a Boston Cooler (Detroit WHAT!) to rival just about any, plus they give you the remainder of the can of Vernors to drink before they finish churning the shake. A nice touch!

I traveled a very long way to eat at this place. I went in sat down and asked the guy behind the counter if they had a double cheese buger. Without saying a word he points to the menu on the wall then turns his back to me. Now mind you I was the only person being served at the time, so he could of took the time to answer my question. I asked the rude guy another question, and as if i was bothering him he turns and say CAN YOU READ! After being totally embarrassed in front of customer I did the only thing I could do......I got up and walked out. What a hell of a first IMPRESSION! Well we just missed Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner eating here so apparently the word is out about how good Little Brothers is. Not only are these guys some of the friendliest cooks you'll meet in town, the food will save your life and your wallet after drinking downtown. They're slightly different from your typical slider joint because the slider portions are larger than usual and they also serve regular sized burgers. The #3 combo is a sensational deal, 3 large sliders with a huge basket of fries and a can of pop for $6.99. The fries are plain jane so you may want to get them with cheese or chilli or just drench them in ketchup. Taste wise, the sliders are everything you could ask for and definitively meet all expectations. I just tried the fried ravioli as an appetizer and while I would have preferred mozzarella cheese instead of ricotta, they were outstanding. As previously mentioned, the interior is teeny tiny and if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, prepare for a 20 minute wait and astounding surface level conversations with drunkards you usually would never talk to. Little Brothers is definitely a great burger spot and a true staple of downtown Royal Oak.

This place is good for any time of the day. It's good for lunch, it's good for dinner, and it's perfect for late night snack after a few drinks and everyone seems to know that as it gets packed on Friday and Sunday nights. It's doesn't seem like they use the best ingredient for the slider here, but there's something about it that you think about it time to time and keep wanting more after taking a bite. The slider is super greasy and soft. It only takes 2-3 bites to finish a slider and your hand gets all messy and greasy. It taste similar to Mc Donald's cheeseburger, but much much better with all that grease. Adding cheese makes the slider even better. The fries here are always fresh and hot. Never had sad soggy fries and it's another reason to enjoy this place.

A couple friends and I picked up burger meals on a Friday night. We all ordered cheeseburgers, fries and a soda. First of all: what a great deal. There are plenty of places that are over priced in the RO area, this is not one of them. Their version of a slider is a bit bigger than average. When I think of these mini burgers a regular order would be four. Two of the Little Brother's version was plenty. The fries were good, Little Brother's are a thin fry, but not supper skinny. I prefer thicker fries, but liked the crispiness. The only issue we had is that of all the burgers we ordered only one of mine had the requisite slider onions on it. The one with onions was of course the superior version. Maybe its just me but I think onions are part of the slider. Little Brothers Burgers is also a good place to go, or stumble into, after a night out downtown.

This may be the smallest burger joint I have ever been to. I believe the inside only seats 8 on a bar counter. The menu has anything you could want from a burger place. Vegetarians watch out. You've been warned. Knowing so many vegetarians, many times I will try the vegetarian option to see if its a good place when you have omnivores and vegetarians in your party. Well, this is not one of those places. I would never expect a sliders joint to have an option for vegetarians, but when I saw they did, it's worth trying. I asked if they just nuke the veggie patty and the answer was no, we grilled them. Okay, I'm expecting the same quality or better vegetarian burger than the ones at Red Robin, which for a franchise, they are pretty good when they are not over cooked. Little brothers needs to stick with meat and either leave these patties alone or learn how to cook them. The patty was fairly thin and not much to it. I wouldn't expect much if it was the size of a real slider and you would normally order a few. I would not want to have more than one of these guys. They make the cardinal mistake of over cooking the patty. They come out dried up and the edges get hard. They should also consider having the option for a veggie or meatless patty. The veggie patty is a garden burger, so you can see the carrots and bits of other pieces. With the meatless option, you don't see those ingredients and with it mostly soy based, it's texture and taste is different. Vegetarians, if it was your only option when going there with friends, fine you have something to order. However with being in Downtown Royal Oak, there are so many other options for you that will taste good and be worth the money you spend.

Terrific place! My granddaughter and I rode our bikes here for the first time, and not only had fantastic service, but the best chocolate shake, burgers, and fries! Small interior with counter seating for maybe 7-8 patrons, in the sping/summer/fall they also have a limited outdoor eating area. The owner is a super cool guy as are the rest of the staff. Super friendly and speedy. Burgers are good, slightly larger than the typical small slider. You can get cheese plus the typical onions + pickles. The absolute best I have ever had? Not quite, but consistently delicious. Having tried 40+ different sliders, I can tell you they are at least in the top 25%. And the fries...if you love fries, they give you A TON OF THEM. I mean it's insane how much you get. And they are cooked just right in my opinion: not too soft, not too crispy.

If you are trying to "cheap it out" while in Royal Oak (and who hasn't been there?) it's definitely refreshing to see a place where you can eat lunch (or dinner even) for under five bucks. Also, they've got a lot of neat beverages that you can select with your meal. LIttle Brothers is my favorite place to go after a night out at the bars! My boyfriend always gets the gut buster, which is enormous. I, however, am in a serious relationship with the pretzel burger. I've been meaning to get here for years and had some time so I drove into RO to see if I could find a close parking spot. I ran in and placed an order for a slider combo #3 (three sliders with cheese, fries and a can of pop) to go. The counter has maybe 7 stools around it, a couple flat screens that were playing "No Reservations" at that time, and a pop cooler. My food came out in about 5 minutes and I took it home snacking on fries the whole way home. I just need to say that even though I was famished, that their fries were some of the best thin cut fries I've had...honestly, they were as good as really fresh Mc Donald's fries. That may or may not have been a fluke but I'll be back for those and to try the fryrings?! Anyways, the sliders were OK. They use a great dill pickle that's a little sweeter than most slider joints and I truly enjoyed my three burger snack. If the patties had been just a little thicker I'd be giving 4 stars. But I liked Little Brothers. I'll be back.

Upon walking in here, I really enjoyed breathing in that nice aroma of burgers and sauteed onions. I appreciated the little hometown burger joint look. Greasy kitchen in the back, couple of registers, and just a few counter-stool style seats around the registers. The menu is very straightforward, while the prices look a tad steep for a joint like this, I thought what the heck let's see if the product delivers. The employee taking my order was very courteous and polite. For the steep price of $5.99, I got 2 sliders with cheese, fries, and my choice of a drink. The sliders were sadly mediocre. They were supposed to make this a meal but they left a hungry man such as myself wanting more. The patties were alright, not bursting with flavor but just salty enough. Sauteed onions and pickles were on point but really how can you mess that up anyway? Biggest problem with the sliders was size, they were too small to make two of them a meal. The fries were BAD. I mean they looked like McDonald's fries, but tasted worse. They lacked any distinguishable taste is what it is. Even though Micky D's fries are nothing to write home about, at least they scratch an itch in the American junk food palette. These fries looked Micky D's and tasted Ore Ida's from frozen bag. The best part of this meal, sad to say, is that the choice of drinks include some classics like IBC root beer, cream soda, and other canned beverages that they seems OK with letting you choose at no upcharge. I try food from spots like this to see if it satiates that craving for some good greasy burgers and fries. The food here leaves me wanting more and questioning whether those calories were worth it. My recommendation for eats like this, especially after a bar night in Royal Oak, stands as Comet Burger. Better and more food for the price, more selection, more seating. Sorry Little Brothers - thumbs down.

We have a rule in my house: Don't talk about Little Brothers Burgers unless you are going to go out and bring their burgers home. Their burgers are burgers in their simplest, purest form. Forget the frills and fancy dressings. These burgers are straight up soft buns, perfectly grilled patties, melted cheese that folds beautifully over the edges, a dot of ketchup, a drizzle of mustard, and a dashing of pickles. Perfect. Their fries and shakes are just as great, and the guys who work there are always so sweet and easy going, no matter how much the line backs up at 2 a.m. on a Saturday night. Telway is a close second, but Little Bros will always have them beat in my burger book.

I had never been to one of Metro Detroit's signature hamburger stands before I visited Little Brothers Burgers. Truth be told, I'm not a fan of fast food, and I don't eat hamburgers very often. The only reason I'd come here again would be because I don't want to drive all the way to Warren for Five Guys. But why WOULDN'T I drive to Warren for Five Guys? Little Brothers dining space is so awkward and the burger is so bleh. I was trying to enjoy my burger and some rude women ordering take outs was pushing me out of my seat just to get some extra salt and pepper on their burgers. And all I could hear is the TV playing some sports I don't care about. If you want some after bar food i guess this would be the place to eat. And you wouldn't know it's bad if you are drunk enough.

Little Brothers is as charming as it's food is good. THE GOOD: Little Bros is cool. They boast a pretty extensive menu of sliders and related foods, and the quick service and nice portions quickly make up for any shortcomings you might notice here. There are two tv's that incessantly play VH1 Classic. The food is fairly priced. The staff is fun to talk to. And did I mention the food is DAMN GOOD?! Indeed, Little Bros IS a burger joint. So naturally, you can expect the food to be greasy. There's just something I love about being able to knock myself into a food coma for under six bucks. Mmm. The best part about the place is how laid-back everyone is. The other night, me and 2 of my friends walked in and sat down, and when we ordered, the guy informed us that they would be locking the doors for an hour or so to make 500 burgers for a private party next door. Being the polite guests we are, we said we could leave (we didn't want to be a bother) but the head guy insisted we stay, as long as we didn't mind them turning up the music. Psshhhh. TURN IT UP. Excellent staff. Excellent food. THE BAD: I would say it was a hole-in-the-wall destination but that would be an understatement. The place is tiny, like "7 people makes it unbearably crowded"-tiny. You're gonna be touching elbows with somebody when you eat here. Otherwise, my only complaint for Little Bros would be the drink situation. Being a big fan of fountain soda, I found myself disappointed to find they only had canned and bottled drinks. However, this is only a matter of preference so I won't dock points from the otherwise stellar score. OVERALL: Little Brothers is a burger joint. With that being said, you can't expect too many bells and whistles. The staff here likes what they do, which is apparent in their work. And the food is grade A for it's class. Bottom line, if you like sliders or fries, come check out Little Bros. I go here all the time and I can't say I've ever been disappointed.

If you're looking for cheap late night burgers this is a great place to go. They're decently quick and if its summer grabbing a few sliders and sitting outside isn't bad. I also enjoy that they do have a boca burger option on their menus which you can substitute on any of their regular burgers. My favorite combination is the boca burger on the pretzel bun (a weakness of mine)

An honest burger place. Good little burger joint small so sitting is an issue. But it's a tasty, fun place and not fancy. One of Royal Oaks hidden gem and it's close to Gusoline Alley so you can walk over to get your burger. Enjoy.

What a great little place! It's a Telway type situation but better. I love their Pretzel [bun] Burger, and they have redbull millshakes. Yes, exactly. Sliders are great, larger than something you would find at (sorry) white castle. Don't expect gourmet toppings or a large fancy dining room, but these diner style burgers are great!

This place is a great way to end your night. We usually end up being the heroes of the group, feeding the masses with our bag of 25 sliders. In fact, we've even seen others successfully barter cab fares and unsuccessfully attempt to barter prostitution with this amazing new form of currency. Little Brothers is located across from Aveda, near Town Tavern, the Thai place, and the leather shop. Just a few blocks from the nightlife downtown. Only things I will caution you about...this place is tiny so don't expect to sit down and eat; it's definitely a carry-out joint. There is no public restroom; if you beg them (or pay them in burgers) they will let you use the employee bathroom but you will have to walk through the greasy kitchen to get to the greasy bathroom. Basically you'll need to be really drunk to be willing to use this restroom. Put it that way.

Hell yes, this place has a lot of character! Good food, especially late at night on weekends. The staff is very cool. I would recommend this to anyone paying a visit to this great city! But obviously, it is a burger place so don't expect a "healthy" menu, but you should know this going in.

No fuss little place with pretty good burgers. Go in, order, eat and go out: this is the intent of this joint. Excellent selection of soft drinks and prices are pocket friendly. I give it 4 and not 5 stars, because although I do not have anything negative to say about the burgers, I do not have anything glowing either. Burgers undeniably need more flavor.

Little Bros has solved the age-old conflict of deciding whether to get fries or onion rings with your burger. Fryrings! A basket with a generous mixture of both that is about half the price of ordering them both separately. That alone earns stars in my book. The sliders could have a little more stuff on them and I swear I remember them being sloppy and messy when I've eaten them drunk a couple times but that was probably just me being a trainwreck. I guess you can always add more ketchup and mustard if you'd like. Fries were a little underwhelming but O-rings and corn dogs were tasty. I usually hate when my meal consists of things that are all the same color ("fried" is a color, right?) but this was delicious. I was expecting a terrible stomach ache for days afterwards but to my great delight, I survived without a grueling trip to the loo.

I received a note from Boris, who says he is the new owner of Little Bros. He stated he has made some changes as the new owner, and that the hours are as follows: "M-W 11-8, thur-sat 11-3am, sunday closed till april 15,2010 then open till 8" I commend him on keeping an eye out for the public perception of his restaurant, and I'll reconsider that parcel of real estate as a "restaurant" again and not just some building that is always closed. I'll post again once I've had the chance to sample the burgers.

Fast, small seating area, tasty enough while in Royal Oak I pop in here from time to time when in Royal Oak and need something fast that's not Qdoba. Little Brothers has a great little spot on 4th St beside the train tracks. It's appearance is appealing and tells you enough of what to expect - small, fast, efficient. All of which is true. The burgers themselves are decent. As are the fries. I don't get excited about them, but if I don't want sit-down service in Royal Oak (and who does?), this satisfies the right craving for a little meat, a little grease, and a little bit of potato slathered in ketchup. Wish they had vinegar out for the fries.

I love this place. They serve high quality sliders if there is such a thing. you grab your own can of pop and they have a pretty wide selection which I like. As mentioned, it's a takeout place unless you can grab one of the handful of seats. This place is tiny. One nice little postive is that they have a tv and have on Discovery channel like programing. They also have a outdoor speaker so if you sit outside at one of their 3 outdoor tables or a bench located out front you can listen to the sound from the tv program.

The food here is delicious! I had ordered a sack of six, two plain for my kiddies and tow double burgers. OMG, they were soooooooooo good. I loved, loved, loved the grease and the cheese! The meat was fresh and the onions had just the right amount of bite. It wasn't overwhelming like white castles. They were also more gentle on the tummy than WC. Lol. To start off, I have gotten burgers from here without going in, and they were delicious. That being said, my friend and I went to pick up a few sliders and a burger after leaving a bar and recieved the worst service I have ever gotten. Also, i do know what good service is because I am a waitress. A man with what looked like to be a slicked back mohawk in a ponytail "took care" of us. We ordered and after waiting 20 minutes and watching several other people receive their food before us, people started suggesting we say something. Approximately 30 minutes after we ordered, I asked the man with the ponytail if our food was coming. He said ours took longer than the others' for some reason. He looked back on his computer and gave us back (the wrong) change. He did not just give it back but literally threw it. He then preceded to tell us to get "the f@$k" out of there and also called us names. Rudest casier/cook I have ever encountered and in my opinion, those that cannot associate with people should not be up front. Make the burgers, don't run the cash register. I do have experience in all of these jobs which is why I deemed it necessary to warn people about this place.

Yes, I am a vegetarian and I'm reviewing Little Bros! This place is great. Perfect place to stop by for a veggie burger - or otherwise ;-) on your way home from a show at the Music Theater, a bar or for lunch. They have some strange hours...but i think they will be getting better. They are in high demand so I would imagine they would keep the doors open longer, soon! They just put in some great patio seating for the spring/summer. The staff is very kind and will make whatever you want to order.

Last weekend I went to see a show at the Royal Oak Music Theater and it got out at midnight. A friend and I were looking for a place to grab a bite, and we serendipitously came across Little Bros. He had been there once before and swore by their burgers, so I thought I'd give it a shot. As you can tell from the pics, the restaurant is tiny -- there is a counter with about 8-10 stools, a cash register, and the menu is posted on the wall on one side. Our order was nothing too exotic: a slider with cheese, cheese fries, and a Boston cooler... but when the food came out, I was very pleasantly surprised. First of all, the "slider" was not your typical mini burger -- it was roughly the size of a Wendy's jr. cheeseburger, which was great for my midnight snack. A little greasy (okay, a lot greasy), especially with their special sauce added on, but soooo good. Also, the Boston Cooler was AMAZING -- made with real ice cream (I watched them hand scoop it out). I would definitely come back here for again for lunch, or post-bar (they're open 'til 3am on weekends), because the food hit the spot and it was super cheap.

We love this spot! It's small and limited for seating as they only have a small bar rail, but their burgers, sliders, and chicken sandwiches are all great...and that's not even mentioning the amazing old fashioned milkshakes they have!! You can call ahead or go in and order. Everything is made pretty quick and fresh for you and their staff is super friendly! I'm the most indecisive person and they are so patient with me while I decide - answering all my questions and making sure I'm happy with my choice!

I'm skeptical allowing myself to write a review for this place because I don't remember a time where I was in a sober and I decided to eat Little Bros. But I will let my patchy memories of this place guide me. Little Bros specializes in sliders and fries. They have a more diverse menu than that, but I would recommend sticking to those for your first time. They do them often and they are fantastic. Just as greasy as you want a slider to be and at a reasonable price with the combos that they offer. I'm a big fan of the chili cheese fries. Their chili is savory and never spicy but just the right consistency to be on fries. The cheese makes it a messy blob of heart clogging goodness. You can split one between two. If you come any time before midnight on a weekend this place is never packed and you can get in and out quick. If you come after the bars close be prepared to wait a while for your food while cramped into their place like a sardine. Still worth it. Parking around the place is all street parking, be prepared for that. And the employees are always very nice and tolerant of obnoxious people late at night. Overall: Best late night food you can grab in downtown Royal Oak. And it's not bad any other time either.

I have passed by this joint so many times and decided I needed to make a stop here with a friend for a quick dinner. I ordered the "famous" number two combo which was a basket of fries and two sliders. Cheese cost extra. The food hit the spot as I was craving greasy, homey food that night but I wouldn't come all the out here intentionally. This is a great joint for pre-gaming food or late-night munchies with quick and super friendly service. The location is great and the fries were deliciously crispy. My friend ordered the medium order of fries and out came what would be considered an extra large portion size in many other restaurants! There are also a ton of sodas to pick from to add to your meal or if you just want to stop by for a cool-off on a hot day.

I love it how all the little slider shops around town have their own unique personalities. Sometimes the personality involves improving upon the concept of something from a familiar chain. Much like Hunter House in Birmingham's "thing" embodies a perfection of the White Castle-style slider, one could present a case that Little Brothers "thing" is to improve upon the McDonald's formula. No clue if this was intentional, but to me Little Brothers sliders taste like I would imagine the burgers from the very first McDonald's burgers tasted, way back in the 1940's in California, before they had to alter their formula to accommodate a mass-produced supply chain designed to feed billions. I never tasted one of the OG Mickey D's as I was born in the 70's. But I bet they tasted something like this. Say what you will about McDonald's but I think there is something culturally defining to be said for their classic take on the basic American Cheeseburger. Little Brothers follows the formula but does it so much better. Similar-sized bun & patty, cheese (by request), and grilled onions, pickles, mustard & ketchup (unless you instruct them to leave any of these off, by why would you). Their fries also are like McDonald's fries (including that they can be inconsistent, yes, but when they're good they're really good). A couple of really cool non-McDonald'sy offerings are Deep Fried Ravioli (excellent) and a Boston Cooler (Detroit WHAT!) to rival just about any, plus they give you the remainder of the can of Vernors to drink before they finish churning the shake. A nice touch!

I traveled a very long way to eat at this place. I went in sat down and asked the guy behind the counter if they had a double cheese buger. Without saying a word he points to the menu on the wall then turns his back to me. Now mind you I was the only person being served at the time, so he could of took the time to answer my question. I asked the rude guy another question, and as if i was bothering him he turns and say CAN YOU READ! After being totally embarrassed in front of customer I did the only thing I could do......I got up and walked out. What a hell of a first IMPRESSION! Well we just missed Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner eating here so apparently the word is out about how good Little Brothers is. Not only are these guys some of the friendliest cooks you'll meet in town, the food will save your life and your wallet after drinking downtown. They're slightly different from your typical slider joint because the slider portions are larger than usual and they also serve regular sized burgers. The #3 combo is a sensational deal, 3 large sliders with a huge basket of fries and a can of pop for $6.99. The fries are plain jane so you may want to get them with cheese or chilli or just drench them in ketchup. Taste wise, the sliders are everything you could ask for and definitively meet all expectations. I just tried the fried ravioli as an appetizer and while I would have preferred mozzarella cheese instead of ricotta, they were outstanding. As previously mentioned, the interior is teeny tiny and if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, prepare for a 20 minute wait and astounding surface level conversations with drunkards you usually would never talk to. Little Brothers is definitely a great burger spot and a true staple of downtown Royal Oak.

This place is good for any time of the day. It's good for lunch, it's good for dinner, and it's perfect for late night snack after a few drinks and everyone seems to know that as it gets packed on Friday and Sunday nights. It's doesn't seem like they use the best ingredient for the slider here, but there's something about it that you think about it time to time and keep wanting more after taking a bite. The slider is super greasy and soft. It only takes 2-3 bites to finish a slider and your hand gets all messy and greasy. It taste similar to Mc Donald's cheeseburger, but much much better with all that grease. Adding cheese makes the slider even better. The fries here are always fresh and hot. Never had sad soggy fries and it's another reason to enjoy this place.

A couple friends and I picked up burger meals on a Friday night. We all ordered cheeseburgers, fries and a soda. First of all: what a great deal. There are plenty of places that are over priced in the RO area, this is not one of them. Their version of a slider is a bit bigger than average. When I think of these mini burgers a regular order would be four. Two of the Little Brother's version was plenty. The fries were good, Little Brother's are a thin fry, but not supper skinny. I prefer thicker fries, but liked the crispiness. The only issue we had is that of all the burgers we ordered only one of mine had the requisite slider onions on it. The one with onions was of course the superior version. Maybe its just me but I think onions are part of the slider. Little Brothers Burgers is also a good place to go, or stumble into, after a night out downtown.

This may be the smallest burger joint I have ever been to. I believe the inside only seats 8 on a bar counter. The menu has anything you could want from a burger place. I like the combo options too, great price to fill you up! Chili cheese fries were good, it wasn't too overloading which was nice. I normally catch the staffs name when I'm given excellent service, unfortunately I neglected to do so. But he was very nice and helpful. I got the oreo shake to end the meal. It was pretty good but I like when there are more oreo chunks. I just moved to the area and I can't wait to bring friends here!

Was a little disappointed over all. The food was not bad, but giver there were some great reviews. I didn't love the burger or the fries enough to finish either. Service was a little slow, and I ordered my burger and fries for here and after someone served them up in a basket the guy working the register dumped everything in a to go bag. We got a bag of 6 with an order of chili cheese fries, which are a must as well, for around $16. Only thing that is a downfall is the parking. Took me longer to find a spot than to get my food. Vegetarians watch out. You've been warned. Knowing so many vegetarians, many times I will try the vegetarian option to see if its a good place when you have omnivores and vegetarians in your party. Well, this is not one of those places. I would never expect a sliders joint to have an option for vegetarians, but when I saw they did, it's worth trying. I asked if they just nuke the veggie patty and the answer was no, we grilled them. Okay, I'm expecting the same quality or better vegetarian burger than the ones at Red Robin, which for a franchise, they are pretty good when they are not over cooked. Little brothers needs to stick with meat and either leave these patties alone or learn how to cook them. The patty was fairly thin and not much to it. I wouldn't expect much if it was the size of a real slider and you would normally order a few. I would not want to have more than one of these guys. They make the cardinal mistake of over cooking the patty. They come out dried up and the edges get hard. They should also consider having the option for a veggie or meatless patty. The veggie patty is a garden burger, so you can see the carrots and bits of other pieces. With the meatless option, you don't see those ingredients and with it mostly soy based, it's texture and taste is different. Vegetarians, if it was your only option when going there with friends, fine you have something to order. However with being in Downtown Royal Oak, there are so many other options for you that will taste good and be worth the money you spend.

Terrific place! My granddaughter and I rode our bikes here for the first time, and not only had fantastic service, but the best chocolate shake, burgers, and fries! Very reasonable prices, and the people working there seem to really enjoy themselves, so that in itself is a bonus to me-I love to see happy staff and that tells me they have a good thing going on. Terrible. The only reason why people go there is because they are drunk after the bar and don't realize what they are putting into their mouth. Unreal burgers. It's open late so it's very convenient to go to after the bars. The prices are very fair and the service is outstanding. Staff is very patient and does a good job of handling intoxicated people. I will definitely be making a return trip in the near future.

I had a fairly frequent burger craving while pregnant and this little joint was a life saver. I don't think I've ever been here before midnight. It's always got a little crowd inside yet service is friendly and prompt. I think the burgers are fab!! Sliders or my fave is the burger on a pretzel bun. The fries are decent. They have a great size menu for a little place. I prefer these burgers over most normal restaurant burgers... Definitely pop in after a night out in ferndale/royal oak.

Killer lunch deals here, very hard to beat! $4.99 for two sliders, fries, and a pop? All freshly made? Hands down a solid option if you are in Royal Oak. Small interior with counter seating for maybe 7-8 patrons, in the sping/summer/fall they also have a limited outdoor eating area. The owner is a super cool guy as are the rest of the staff. Super friendly and speedy. Burgers are good, slightly larger than the typical small slider. You can get cheese plus the typical onions + pickles. The absolute best I have ever had? Not quite, but consistently delicious. Having tried 40+ different sliders, I can tell you they are at least in the top 25%. And the fries...if you love fries, they give you A TON OF THEM. I mean it's insane how much you get. And they are cooked just right in my opinion: not too soft, not too crispy.

Lets just say that at the Arts, Beats & Eats festival we chose to eat at Lil Bros Burgers anyways. Their sliders are amazing and their fries are tasty. I don't dig their chili-fries though, but I am very picky about my fries. The staff is extremely friendly.

Decent burgers, addicting fries! Ha ha they are very short and thin, and salted just right. Also, they are priced pretty well. If you are trying to "cheap it out" while in Royal Oak (and who hasn't been there?) it's definitely refreshing to see a place where you can eat lunch (or dinner even) for under five bucks. Also, they've got a lot of neat beverages that you can select with your meal. That's refreshing, considering that a lot of places just offer the same ole stuff (which isn't a bad thing, just refreshing to have some different offerings). Try this place! I highly recommend it.

LIttle Brothers is my favorite place to go after a night out at the bars! My boyfriend always gets the gut buster, which is enormous. I, however, am in a serious relationship with the pretzel burger. I consider myself somewhat of a pretzel enthusiast, so its deliciousness is enough for me to give Little Bros 5 stars. The onion rings are a favorite too! I've never been here during the day, but it's great at 2am. The one guy who always works there is awesome and I like how they play metal music videos on the TVs. If you can grab a seat, it's a perfect place to people watch. The last time I was here, I got to witness a fight in the street and then watch 3 police cars arrest a couple of idiots. It's a show and meal. Me likey.

I've been meaning to get here for years and had some time so I drove into RO to see if I could find a close parking spot. I ran in and placed an order for a slider combo #3 (three sliders with cheese, fries and a can of pop) to go. The counter has maybe 7 stools around it, a couple flat screens that were playing "No Reservations" at that time, and a pop cooler. My food came out in about 5 minutes and I took it home snacking on fries the whole way home. I just need to say that even though I was famished, that their fries were some of the best thin cut fries I've had...honestly, they were as good as really fresh Mc Donald's fries. That may or may not have been a fluke but I'll be back for those and to try the fryrings?! Anyways, the sliders were OK. They use a great dill pickle that's a little sweeter than most slider joints and I truly enjoyed my three burger snack. If the patties had been just a little thicker I'd be giving 4 stars. But I liked Little Brothers. I'll be back.

I recently made my first trip into Little Brothers with others who are regulars here. I saw the Gut Buster on the meal and decided to go with it. Its an awesome double burger, coupled with the fries and a Vernor's made for a very good meal.

Upon walking in here, I really enjoyed breathing in that nice aroma of burgers and sauteed onions. I appreciated the little hometown burger joint look. Greasy kitchen in the back, couple of registers, and just a few counter-stool style seats around the registers. The menu is very straightforward, while the prices look a tad steep for a joint like this, I thought what the heck let's see if the product delivers. The employee taking my order was very courteous and polite. For the steep price of $5.99, I got 2 sliders with cheese, fries, and my choice of a drink. The sliders were sadly mediocre. They were supposed to make this a meal but they left a hungry man such as myself wanting more. The patties were alright, not bursting with flavor but just salty enough. Sauteed onions and pickles were on point but really how can you mess that up anyway? Biggest problem with the sliders was size, they were too small to make two of them a meal. The fries were BAD. I mean they looked like McDonald's fries, but tasted worse. They lacked any distinguishable taste is what it is. Even though Micky D's fries are nothing to write home about, at least they scratch an itch in the American junk food palette. These fries looked Micky D's and tasted Ore Ida's from frozen bag. The best part of this meal, sad to say, is that the choice of drinks include some classics like IBC root beer, cream soda, and other canned beverages that they seems OK with letting you choose at no upcharge. I try food from spots like this to see if it satiates that craving for some good greasy burgers and fries. The food here leaves me wanting more and questioning whether those calories were worth it. My recommendation for eats like this, especially after a bar night in Royal Oak, stands as Comet Burger. Better and more food for the price, more selection, more seating. Sorry Little Brothers - thumbs down.

The sliders here are larger than white castle, smaller than a regular McDonald's burger. They are grilled well, come with the standard fixings. The fries and onion rings are fried and seasoned well. Great selection of canned and bottled soda. Great place for a quick and not too expensive bite.

We have a rule in my house: Don't talk about Little Brothers Burgers unless you are going to go out and bring their burgers home. Their burgers are burgers in their simplest, purest form. Forget the frills and fancy dressings. These burgers are straight up soft buns, perfectly grilled patties, melted cheese that folds beautifully over the edges, a dot of ketchup, a drizzle of mustard, and a dashing of pickles. Perfect. Their fries and shakes are just as great, and the guys who work there are always so sweet and easy going, no matter how much the line backs up at 2 a.m. on a Saturday night. Telway is a close second, but Little Bros will always have them beat in my burger book.

I had never been to one of Metro Detroit's signature hamburger stands before I visited Little Brothers Burgers. Truth be told, I'm not a fan of fast food, and I don't eat hamburgers very often. Yet, I wanted to try this cute little restaurant! I loved the ambiance, and the service was great! My burger, on the other hand, was just too greasy. It tasted like a less sweet version of a certain worldwide chain's greasy burger. I'll leave Little Brothers Burgers to hardcore slider fans. Enjoy!

The only reason I'd come here again would be because I don't want to drive all the way to Warren for Five Guys. But why WOULDN'T I drive to Warren for Five Guys? Little Brothers dining space is so awkward and the burger is so bleh. I was trying to enjoy my burger and some rude women ordering take outs was pushing me out of my seat just to get some extra salt and pepper on their burgers. And all I could hear is the TV playing some sports I don't care about. If you want some after bar food i guess this would be the place to eat. And you wouldn't know it's bad if you are drunk enough.

One of the better slider joints in the area. We got in just before all the bars closed and were able to grab a seat at the bar. But wow, did that place fill up fast. We got our food fast, and it seemed like everyone waiting for to-go orders were in-and-out in a reasonable time. I felt that the quality of food was far better than the Telway.

Little Brothers is as charming as it's food is good. THE GOOD: Little Bros is cool. They boast a pretty extensive menu of sliders and related foods, and the quick service and nice portions quickly make up for any shortcomings you might notice here. There are two tv's that incessantly play VH1 Classic. The food is fairly priced. The staff is fun to talk to. And did I mention the food is DAMN GOOD?! Indeed, Little Bros IS a burger joint. So naturally, you can expect the food to be greasy. There's just something I love about being able to knock myself into a food coma for under six bucks. Mmm. The best part about the place is how laid-back everyone is. The other night, me and 2 of my friends walked in and sat down, and when we ordered, the guy informed us that they would be locking the doors for an hour or so to make 500 burgers for a private party next door. Being the polite guests we are, we said we could leave (we didn't want to be a bother) but the head guy insisted we stay, as long as we didn't mind them turning up the music. Psshhhh. TURN IT UP. Excellent staff. Excellent food. THE BAD: I would say it was a hole-in-the-wall destination but that would be an understatement. The place is tiny, like "7 people makes it unbearably crowded"-tiny. You're gonna be touching elbows with somebody when you eat here. Otherwise, my only complaint for Little Bros would be the drink situation. Being a big fan of fountain soda, I found myself disappointed to find they only had canned and bottled drinks. However, this is only a matter of preference so I won't dock points from the otherwise stellar score. OVERALL: Little Brothers is a burger joint. With that being said, you can't expect too many bells and whistles. The staff here likes what they do, which is apparent in their work. And the food is grade A for it's class. Bottom line, if you like sliders or fries, come check out Little Bros. I go here all the time and I can't say I've ever been disappointed.

Nice enough guys, but consistently awful sliders. The meat they use must be slightly above cat food. I keep seeing great reviews for the place and keep going back there and always get the same result. Maybe the drunk mobs can't taste anything but ketchup and pickles after 2am, but they are better off going to Comet or save a dollar and go get a McDouble. These four and five star reviews are insane.

I also enjoy that they do have a boca burger option on their menus which you can substitute on any of their regular burgers. What a great little place! It's a Telway type situation but better. I love their Pretzel [bun] Burger, and they have redbull millshakes. Yes, exactly. Sliders are great, larger than something you would find at (sorry) white castle. Don't expect gourmet toppings or a large fancy dining room, but these diner style burgers are great!

This place is a great way to end your night. We usually end up being the heroes of the group, feeding the masses with our bag of 25 sliders. In fact, we've even seen others successfully barter cab fares and unsuccessfully attempt to barter prostitution with this amazing new form of currency. Little Brothers is located across from Aveda, near Town Tavern, the Thai place, and the leather shop. Just a few blocks from the nightlife downtown. Only things I will caution you about...this place is tiny so don't expect to sit down and eat; it's definitely a carry-out joint. There is no public restroom; if you beg them (or pay them in burgers) they will let you use the employee bathroom but you will have to walk through the greasy kitchen to get to the greasy bathroom. Basically you'll need to be really drunk to be willing to use this restroom. Put it that way.

Little Bros has solved the age-old conflict of deciding whether to get fries or onion rings with your burger. Fryrings! A basket with a generous mixture of both that is about half the price of ordering them both separately. That alone earns stars in my book. The sliders could have a little more stuff on them and I swear I remember them being sloppy and messy when I've eaten them drunk a couple times but that was probably just me being a trainwreck. I guess you can always add more ketchup and mustard if you'd like. Fries were a little underwhelming but O-rings and corn dogs were tasty. I usually hate when my meal consists of things that are all the same color ("fried" is a color, right?) but this was delicious. I was expecting a terrible stomach ache for days afterwards but to my great delight, I survived without a grueling trip to the loo.

I received a note from Boris, who says he is the new owner of Little Bros. He stated he has made some changes as the new owner, and that the hours are as follows: "M-W 11-8, thur-sat 11-3am, sunday closed till april 15,2010 then open till 8" I commend him on keeping an eye out for the public perception of his restaurant, and I'll reconsider that parcel of real estate as a "restaurant" again and not just some building that is always closed. Fast, small seating area, tasty enough while in Royal Oak I pop in here from time to time when in Royal Oak and need something fast that's not Qdoba. Little Brothers has a great little spot on 4th St beside the train tracks. It's appearance is appealing and tells you enough of what to expect - small, fast, efficient. All of which is true. The burgers themselves are decent. As are the fries. I don't get excited about them, but if I don't want sit-down service in Royal Oak (and who does?), this satisfies the right craving for a little meat, a little grease, and a little bit of potato slathered in ketchup. Wish they had vinegar out for the fries.

I love this place. They serve high quality sliders if there is such a thing. you grab your own can of pop and they have a pretty wide selection which I like. As mentioned, it's a takeout place unless you can grab one of the handful of seats. This place is tiny. One nice little postive is that they have a tv and have on Discovery channel like programing. They also have a outdoor speaker so if you sit outside at one of their 3 outdoor tables or a bench located out front you can listen to the sound from the tv program.

The food here is delicious! I had ordered a sack of six, two plain for my kiddies and tow double burgers. OMG, they were soooooooooo good. I loved, loved, loved the grease and the cheese! The meat was fresh and the onions had just the right amount of bite. It wasn't overwhelming like white castles. They were also more gentle on the tummy than WC. Lol. To start off, I have gotten burgers from here without going in, and they were delicious. That being said, my friend and I went to pick up a few sliders and a burger after leaving a bar and recieved the worst service I have ever gotten. Also, i do know what good service is because I am a waitress. A man with what looked like to be a slicked back mohawk in a ponytail "took care" of us. We ordered and after waiting 20 minutes and watching several other people receive their food before us, people started suggesting we say something. Approximately 30 minutes after we ordered, I asked the man with the ponytail if our food was coming. He said ours took longer than the others' for some reason. He looked back on his computer and gave us back (the wrong) change. He did not just give it back but literally threw it. He then preceded to tell us to get "the f@$k" out of there and also called us names. Rudest casier/cook I have ever encountered and in my opinion, those that cannot associate with people should not be up front. Make the burgers, don't run the cash register. I do have experience in all of these jobs which is why I deemed it necessary to warn people about this place.

Yes, I am a vegetarian and I'm reviewing Little Bros! This place is great. Perfect place to stop by for a veggie burger - or otherwise ;-) on your way home from a show at the Music Theater, a bar or for lunch. They have some strange hours...but i think they will be getting better. They are in high demand so I would imagine they would keep the doors open longer, soon! They just put in some great patio seating for the spring/summer. The staff is very kind and will make whatever you want to order.

Last weekend I went to see a show at the Royal Oak Music Theater and it got out at midnight. A friend and I were looking for a place to grab a bite, and we serendipitously came across Little Bros. He had been there once before and swore by their burgers, so I thought I'd give it a shot. As you can tell from the pics, the restaurant is tiny -- there is a counter with about 8-10 stools, a cash register, and the menu is posted on the wall on one side. Our order was nothing too exotic: a slider with cheese, cheese fries, and a Boston cooler... but when the food came out, I was very pleasantly surprised. First of all, the "slider" was not your typical mini burger -- it was roughly the size of a Wendy's jr. cheeseburger, which was great for my midnight snack. A little greasy (okay, a lot greasy), especially with their special sauce added on, but soooo good. Also, the Boston Cooler was AMAZING -- made with real ice cream (I watched them hand scoop it out). I would definitely come back here for again for lunch, or post-bar (they're open 'til 3am on weekends), because the food hit the spot and it was super cheap.
