Been many times, food is always great!!!! Waitresses are new so sometimes not the greatest but they do try. Excellent fried chicken, soups and prime rib. Best dirty rice I have ever eaten. Give it a try. The owners are very nice and take care of customers. Nice quiet place to have dinner and watch the game. Great drink prices too. Give it a try, say hi to the animals.

This place is confused. It can't decide if it wants to be a bar, a lodge, a family diner, or an arcade. They try to do everything, and end up doing nothing well. Their menu is horrible. It's five pages of nothing, and they add in what they believe to be witty titles (they call their French Dip Moose Drool... Who wants to eat Moose Drool?) Another below average diner serving previously prepared, frozen garbage that they just warm up and throw on a plate. Check out their own picture "Enjoying our prime rib," and tell me if you'd be happy being served that? It's swimming in au jus, and the meat looks gray. What's worse, they're proud of it. Pretty much sums up why no one is ever here. They had seven TVs dedicated to keno (the place isn't that big), and the TVs over the bar are about 27". I think my computer monitor is bigger. They have several high top tables for no real reason. The "bar" area really isn't a bar area. It's an awkward tiny bar in the middle of a family diner, with high tops in front of it with no entertainment available (there aren't any large TVs by the high tops). Weird, horrible place that would probably serve the public better if they closed their doors.

So sadly I feel the need to update my review. This place used to have very tasty food and friendly service but sadly tis no more. My last experience was with a very slow waitress in a almost empty restaurant and food that was way downhill from my last visit.(about a year and a half ago) Still very cool decor if you like the cabin look. However was prime time when people go out to eat and this place was almost desolate. It saddens me to update this way but the truth must be told. Hopefully they get there act together or someone new buys the place who know a thing or two on how to run a restaurant.

I eat here frequently and love it! Their Stake Asiago is to die for. The wait staff is very accommodating and nice! I have sampled most of their menu and have enjoyed everything. If you haven't been, you need to go!

This place is really good and totally under the radar. They have amazing sliders with sautéed onions, just like Travis burger. Their french fries are one of the best french fries ive ever had my life!! They must triple fry them or something. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for years, but the parking lot was always empty. I finally tried it and was beyond impressed with the food, the prices, and the quick service! All of you that have been debating trying this place, go on with your bad self and try it it's amazing!!

Down right terrible! !! Waste of time and money. Food was gross. I had a shrimp dinner at 15.99 (jumbo) with fries and a salad. My wife had quesadilla dinner at 10.00 with a salad. The jumbo shrimp was only jumbo because of the tons of crap batter they put on. The fries tasted like shrimp , like it was just tossed together in a fn frier. The salad weak. My wifes dinner was as she put it cardboard. Bill was over thirty. When asked how was the meal. I said its ok if your starving. Waitress did not seem to care. Other waitstaff just hangingout talking. When i paid the bill, waitress had the nerve to ask if i wanted change my 50. Really..dont buy into the nice woodcarvings out front. Place blows..

While the outside of the restaurant looks fun and inviting, the inside is a different story entirely. The atmosphere and décor were up-to-date with that of a hunting lodge, and the staff (that we saw) was quite friendly. It was the staff behind the scenes that my family had issues with. My mother-in-law ordered a taco salad. Seems simple enough, right?!? Not for the chef. Upon getting her meal, she found there to be more chips then salad, and get this: there wasn't even lettuce in her salad! After taking out the chips (which she requested on the side to begin with) there was maybe a handful of "salad" remaining. A similar issue happened to my husband. He ordered two cheese burgers, and when his meal came there was no cheese to be found. The manager and wait-staff were more than willing to remedy our issues, and continued to check on us throughout the remainder of our visit. Unfortunately, my family has no intentions on going back there again. We would like to encourage any family thinking of trying this place to read this review (and others), and to perhaps think twice.

Let's overlook the Downriveresque spelling of "Traxx" and be grateful they didn't spell "Moose" with a z instead of an s. My parents friggin looove this place. They just had a 70th birthday party for my pops here, and all went pretty smoothly. I've had better fish and chips, but they were serviceable, and other dishes I've had when the folks have brought me here have been pretty good. One time I had calamari, and not only was it good, but I got to introduce the parents to the pleasures of something they thought was just for flinging on the ice at Red Wings games. The atmosphere is Up North rustic lodge with taxidermified animal heads adorning all the walls. The majestic buffalo head made me a little sad; I could imagine it crying a single tear like the American Indian from the anti-pollution ad from the 70's. Outside, too, there's a bunch of life-sized carved wood sculptures of Up North wildlife. The service is good and the portions are decent. They have a full bar and Keno video crack to occupy you, too. Oh, and there's several televisions attuned to sports which is an absolute necessity to people like my parents. All in all, this place isn't really my scene, but it's alright if I'm going to spend time with the fam.

I've tried to like this place, really I have. The decor is great, beyond that, I can't find anything to compliment. Service is awful, seriously do I have to beg for a refill on coffee at breakfast? And about those omelets,I don't think I've ever had a Chili Omelet with mushrooms. If they had mentioned it had mushrooms on the menu I would have ordered it without them. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said they came that way. OK, so list them in the description. On a second visit I ordered the Chili Omelet without mushrooms, and was told it doesn't have mushrooms, well it did when my plate arrived. Sent it back and the owner came by and said he was sorry I didn't like it. No offer of a discount, just seemingly rude. Service on the second visit was worse than the first. Three tables occupied at the height of the breakfast rush should have sent up a red flag. Still begging for coffee refills and sloooow service. Sorry folks there are much better places.

OWNERS WIFE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My wife and I visited this restaurant and I asked the waitress if the steak was good. Based on her answer, I should have passed because she said it was good but she sure didn't seem like she meant it. I ordered the steak anyway and took a bite....It had a distinct sour taste to it !! I checked the juice that was with it and that wasn't sour so I knew it wasn't prepared with some sort of vinegar or something so, while it didn't smell bad, it definitely tasted sour so I sent it back. The waitress was nice enough about it and got me a burger instead. When I got the bill, I saw that they charged me 2.79 for the salad and 2.79 for the veggies, both of which came with the steak!! This resulted in a 12.00 hamburger!! Of course I didn't know the steak was going to be bad so I had eaten the salad and when the waitress took the steak back, she left the veggies! Had I known I would be charged for them, I would have sent them back along with the steak. When I questioned the bill, the waitress sent Michelle(the owners wife) over who promptly told me they would not remove those items from the bill and that they didn't have a choice. I informed her that I would not come back and am disputing the charges on my card. She simply walked away from me in mid-sentence!!!!! Shame on this place for putting out a bad meal and then nickel and diming a customer for items that came with it. I have never seen this before and I am sure I won't again because I won't be going to Moose Traxx and I highly recommend that you don't either. The food is just ok anyway but I liked supporting a local business but not this one ANYMORE!!
