5 stars for McDonald's, why? - you might ask. But I have to say that this is the most efficiently run McDonalds I think I have ever been to. I was stranded at the Detroit airport for 5 hours because Delta screwed me (a story for another time) and the no-nonsense, quick, efficient service at this McDonalds was definitely appreciated after a very frustrating morning. The lines were long but the employees made it so that I only waited about a minute for my food; maybe even less. I even had time to spot by there again for lunch before my flight and they were still just as quick. Props to the employees here!

5am.. Hungry.. Sluggish service and stale mcmuffin. Wtf? Did they make this sandwich yesterday? At least the bottled water is good.

This is the EVERYTHING EXPRESS McDonald's. It's fast, and its to go. Don't think it isn't, you'll be disappointed. They don't put your food on a tray, they put it in a bag. They don't have a Ketchup Dispenser, they have Ketchup Packets. They don't have TVs, they have TVs playing ads for the Swiffer Steam Broom, constantly, over and over again until you leave. Get on the plane, get on the plane.. F*** you! I'm getting IN the plane - George Carlin

I'm rating this McDonald's in comparison to other McDonalds, NOT in comparison to you know, real restaurants. The McDonalds here is particularly speedy, which is obviously a good quality to have when located in an airport. Other than that, just your standard mickey d's at airport prices.

I grabbed a quick bite to eat while changing planes in DTW (note--I'm reviewing the location near gate A36). I was very positively impressed: 1) counter was definitely over-staffed--a pleasant surprise to see so many clerks waiting to take orders from customers! 2) staff was hustling to fill the orders and get them back to the customers, a big plus in an airport location 3) Most amazing and wonderful--this McDonald's serves Pepsi products!! Gotta love being in Michigan!!!! Usually I avoid McDonald's cuz I'm a Pepsi girl not Coke. I made sure to stop into this McDonalds again on my return trip. Keep up the hustle!

Okay... Can get crowded and very busy, which makes it hard to find a seat sometimes. I've met some nice travelers from all over the world though, being forced to sit across the table from a complete stranger. :) Weird ones too, unfortunately. You take the bad with the good.

Wasn't any different from other McDonald's except prices are much more expensive. A medium frappe cost me over 4 bucks. Employees not that friendly but they were quicker than I expected at an airport.

I popped into this McDonald's yesterday afternoon seeking quick and affordable relief to my ravaging hunger. While it did do the job in that respect, I must say I was left with, well... mixed feelings. First off, I am pleased to say that the service was outstanding! You wouldn't expect the most pleasant experience at the counter of an airport McDonald's, would you? But the young man who took my order (I believe his name was Jonathan) made me feel like a welcome guest in his home and even saved me some money by putting my Big Mac and fries in a meal. Thanks, Jon! (But let's be honest, I really didn't need the soda.) Now, speaking of soda, when's the last time you ever saw Pepsi products at a McDonald's? Well, my last time was also my first time and my first time was here! It really did not bother me, but some of the more brand conscious customers may want to be aware of this. The atmosphere was chaotic and nerve wrecking so I sought refuge at an almost empty gate to enjoy my classic McDonald's combo. After taking a seat (and throwing away most of my Pepsi on the way), I was dismayed to see that although I ordered no cheese on my Big Mac, there was cheese on one of the patties. Just one, though. Isn't that weird? Jonathan, I know it's not your fault, buddy! I proceeded to attempt a cheese-ectomy and was mostly successful. (I am lactose intolerant and, well, I did not especially want to experience gastrointestinal issues on my flight. Those bathrooms got no leg room!) However, I had not been provided with napkins in my bag and after my DIY food surgery I surely needed them. I suppose this could be viewed as an oversight on my part, but where I come from you get napkins in a McDonald's to-go bag. It's just the way it is. I was able to clean off my hands on parts of my clothing and my McDonald's bag. Not an ideal situation, but who did I have to impress? But ya know, what if I DID have someone to impress? What if I had flown in to the Detroit airport for a big job interview and right before the interview I had to eat McDonald's really quick and this same thing happened? I would've walked into that office with special sauce and cheese grease all over me and I would've been fired before I even got hired! The McDonald's in the Detroit airport did prevent me from starving to death, but I certainly will not be making any special trips to go there. Sorry, Jonathan!

Closes at 10 ran out of food at 920 are you kidding me. When I walked in the lady was actually bothered that I came in even though it didnt close for 40 minutes.

This MacDonald has nice decor. I don't eat at MacDonald unless I am at the airport and I have to grab a meal before a connecting flight. Sine the meat here is not Halal, the only option for me is Fish Burger and fries. I love MacDonald french fries but I am trying to avoid greasy food. I cannot say much about Fish burger except that it fill my empty stomach and it is warm. I am not a fan of MacDonald but this store is very nice and trendy. The staff is very efficient and friendly. My food was ready in less than a minute after I made the payment at cashier.

This is the fastest mcdonalds I've ever been to. Easily in and out in under 5 minutes. Highly recommend if you're short on time. The food is food, nothing different than every other McDonalds.

They changed from coke to pepsi!!!!! wtf?? McDonald's has an exclusive recipe contract mith Coke to make the coke they sell int he restaurants, it is not the same formula as what we can purchase int he stores. I love McDonald's coke so I wa so dissapointed to see this change.

This isn't the best McDonald's in the world, but at least the food is familiar. There is a BK in the food court just after the TSA checkpoint as an option...but if you really are craving a Sausage McMuffin with Egg...this is the place to be. If the small dining area really bothers, you can always walk over to the seating area by the gates.

Worst McD experience ever! The bar is actually pretty low on this one. I don't expect good food... just consistent McDonald's food. Having had McD in dozens of different countries, imagine my surprise to get a dried out Filet at DTW! WTF! I wish I had checked it before boarding. It was just wrong... maybe it would have been okay an hour ago. I'll never know. To add insult to injury, I had to buy a Coke from the shop down the terminal because they only have P products at this place. Disgusting.
