Nice patio, good beer, friendly wait staff. No complaints. Bartender gave lots of info on beer types and processes without even having to ask. Wish there are other options for food (only take out from vitales, a pizza joint nearby) but of you are looking for a good hefewizen, theirs is pretty spot on (I lived in Germany for 1.5 years), not too sweet but good flavor.

Love the location sitting right on the white pine trails. Beer is good, however it is always a drifter that is my favorite. Not a fan of the regulars. Staff is a little slow, but super friendly.

Rockford Brewing Company is yet another entry into the brewery craze that is sweeping the nation and seems to be exponentially enhanced in this region. I'm all for the artistic display in food and beverages but there is a large portion of me that wishes this craze would have been focused on creating a bunch of artsy rye's and cane rums. However, I'm up for a beer every now and again so we thought we'd check this place out. The facility is nice. It's not big, well not the downstairs portion anyways, but it has a unique flair with old wooden staircases and a well maintained bar area that creates a nice atmosphere. It fit in very well with the local montage of the Rockford area and whoever designed the interior/selected the decor did an exceptional job as did those who constructed a readable, informational menu. I did notice that there was overwhelming abundance of young children in this bar which I found incredibly strange given that it is solely an operation that serves alcohol, although it allows you to order from a local pizza place. As for the beer itself, I'm not sure I feel comfortable differentiating between establishments given my level of expertise. I'll say that most I tried I were pretty good, only one I considered unpalatable and another I struggled to finish among the seven I tried. If you are in Rockford and want to grab a beer I would say this would be a nice stop as you could enjoy a nice walk along the river afterwards or head over to Red's for some fantastic food. It's probably not a place you need to travel too however unless you are in need of crossing all the local breweries off your bucket list.

Perrin, the mitten and founders all had over an hour wait so we decided to hit up RBC. The beer was slightly above a average, the service was super friendly and you can order in vitals pizza. Would def recommend. Would be a perfect spot in the summer.

Three stars solely because of the great service and upstairs music. We had a sampler and pint deal and disliked 90% of the beers on tap. A couple were decent (rhubarb beer), but most were not tasty, founders and brewery vivant are much better. That being said the upstairs was awesome and the live band was phenomenal, even downstairs you could hear the music trickling down.

This place is okay, nothing to write home about. It's hard when I have to compare all breweries to how amazing Founder's is. We went on a Saturday and it was DEAD empty. The beer was okay, nothing super special or a must-have that I'd want to go back for. We did order cheese bread which came from next door, which was okay, but we ended up leaving and going somewhere else for dinner. Not really worth the drive when you have tons of options in Grand Rapids.

After an afternoon of shopping in Rockford, my friend and I were looking forward to Rockford Brewery as the last stop of our day. With inventive beers, like Butternut Spiced Ale, I was excited to see what else they have to offer. The upstaris seating area still smells like new wood and offers allot of space for customers with long tables and smaller high top tables. I liked the big windows upstairs that let allot of light in. I was disappointed that they didn't have a larger, better stocked bar in the upstairs area. Our server had to go downstairs to get all of our beers so it took longer then it seemed like it should. Rockford Brewery doesn't yet have a kitchen In order to provide food options, they partner with the Uccello's Resturant down the street. Our server explained that our griders would be ready in anywhere from 15-20 minutes but she wasn't sure because it just depends on how Uccello's kitchen was running. Good news, she said, is that the grinders usually take less time than the pizzas. Our food came back in about 15 minutes. My vegetarian grinder came back without mayo on it and only slightly warm. My friend's pizza grinder was also only lukewarm as well and the marinara dipping sauce was from the refrigerator cold. I sure do hope they open a kitchen soon to provide on-site food!

Met some friends there for a beer and snack. We thought it was kind of cool that the deli next door did the food. Cheesy bread sticks were typical for a deli. Subs were good. The beer was very good! We had several different ones and were not disappointed. I don't know what some of the folks that commented here were talking about. We did not think the price was out of line for a microbrewery. Definately will and have gone back.

I went to Rockford Brewing Company for a quick drink and a bite to eat with one of my friends. I had never been there before and was unsure of what to expect. I was pleasently surprised the bar area downstairs is small and homey they do offer more seating upstairs. We decided to sit downstairs and had great service. The bartender served us and was on top of things I would she wasn't overly knowledgeable about the beers but was able to describe them to someone who isn't a huge beer fan. If you wanted to know more about the beer she wouldn't have been the best to ask. The beer came out and was GREAT! I was very surprised by the flavors and enjoyed the IPA and MPA that I had. We ordered dinner from a smaller menu but ample for a pizza or sandwich. The food is delivered from the Vitales location next door. Since it has to cross the parking lot I was expecting a wait but was surprised it was pretty quick. I will defiantly return for a beer...if I want food I might opt for another location in Rockford. I feel that this is a great addition to the town! They also offer beer tours!

Decent beer, but they get their food from the next door pizza joint. It needs to grow into it's potential, especially in this region.

So I have been here a total of three times. Every time I have been here I have been so poorly treated by the wait staff. I have been a bartender and server and I would never treat my customers the way I've been treated if I expect to make a decent tip. This place is not kid friendly and do not have high chairs so be sure to bring your stroller or hold your little one on your lap. Their IPA is pretty good, cider, nothing to write home about. They get their food from Vitales, next door. I ordered the chef salad tonight and had precisely one rolled up slice of deli ham, wilted brown lettuce, 6 slices of pepperoni and various veggies. My husband had the personal size pizza and was extremely undercooked in the center. Not impressed. I will not be coming back, no matter how good the beer is. I would rather spend the extra $20 and go to Red's or Ramona's. At least the service is 10x better and doesn't have an attitude and their food is cooked in house. This place could be a gold mine of a business if they got their kitchen up and running, had an outstanding menu, proper pleasant waitstaff and kid friendly. I know a lot of people with small children that would love to get out, have a great local beer, great pub food and spend money at local businesses. We need more places like this in Rockford.

Rockford Brewing Co is off to a great start. While they don't make food there on site, they still offer food from the deli right next door. They will take your order and deliver it right to the table, which is really great considering they could tell you that if you want food you need to pick it up ahead of time. I love that they go the extra mile for you. As far as their beer, it is definitely solid, but nothing that blows me away yet. I see the potential there to be really great, but as for now they are just a solid good. After a long bike ride, though, their wheat beer really hits the spot! Definitely worth giving a try if you are in the area, I won't ever skip it when I am up there biking!

Yeehaw!!! Brewery opening the weekend I'm in town! This place is amazing. It smells like hops. Plays bluegrass jams and serves food? Wish I lived here. I'd come here hella often!!

We stopped in out of curiousity after dining at Red's. Really good beer. I usually find microbrewed beer to be murky and suspect. This was not the case at Rockford Brewing Company. I had the Farmhouse Ale and my husband had the Irish Stout. They were both delish!. Super fresh and no wierd basement taste. I understand that they do not serve food except pizza...this review is based on the beer.

I went here late with the family thinking that it was more of a restaurant. . I thought I read an early article before they opened that they were going to serve German food with local ingredients, but perhaps I was mistaken. I did find reference to their blog and an article on their food plans but the link is now broken so perhaps their plans changed. They do serve food but it's just sandwiches. I also was a bit surprised that when I asked for the jalapeno mustard that was list on one sandwich to be added to another that they couldn't do that. Which makes me think that they just have a bunch of these sandwiches pre-made in the refrigerator. My daughter ordered the crab dip and they brought it out in a plastic container (sealed) like they just bought it from Meijer. (it didn't actually say Meijer but it wasn't a hot dip like we would have expected) My wife ordered a hot sandwich with Sauerkraut and the sauerkraut was ice cold like they just scooped it out of a jar from the refrigerator. (Maybe that is on purpose, but I thought it was odd and I have never had anything like that before) My son order a root beer and they handed him a can of Dad's. (Which isn't a big deal but it was price more like a gourmet bottle root beer) All that being said, the food wasn't bad it was only just ok. However, for what we got..... it was way over-priced. I paid $9 for my sandwich and the total tab was around $65 with tip (only $20 was beer and drinks) All that being said, the beer was good, (not amazing) but solid enough that it is worth a visit if you are a beer geek. Like any new brewery, things will get better over time. So the bottom line is, go for the beer but not the food.

I was here the first day after it opened. I am an out of towner who lives in Arizona. The food is not cooked or prepped here. It comes from next door. The beer was pretty good. I would go back if it was convenient. Selection was small, but overall it was good. The service was a little weak.

We had purchased a groupon and stopped in on our way through the area. The beer was okay. We tried a couple of the ciders as well. We got the cheese bread from the place next door and it was okay. I liked the red beer the best. The two browns I tried were just okay. I liked the Beechwood best out of those two. Not sure I'd make a special return trip but it was a nice place to check out. The Rockford area seemed charming.

i liked the white pine wheat the most. The Hoplust ipa was really good too. It was busy and service seemed good to me so I dont know about some of these other reviewers and what they went through. Pizza was good but they need a real kitchen, i heard they are going to be putting in their own kitchen soon which would really step up things for them. the views were really cool one of the best locations in rockford as far as placement. i enjoyed!

Good beer and awesome location downtown Rockford. Yes the food is not part of the brewery, but it's a brewery NOT a restaurant.
