What: Down-home country cooking with excellent waitstaff. A tremendous menu of sandwiches, entrees, soups, and all-day breakfast. When: Great for refueling after biking or hiking the nearby Richmond Orchard Trail. Must: Try the stuffed pepper soup and Greek salad with a side of bacon. Lemonade to drink. Dill pickle soup is also recommended. Ask for a doggie bag as soon as you order: portions are huge. #RajivRecommends80% #DetroitCity #FoodReviews

Ate here almost everyday for breakfast while staying with a friend in Memphis. Richmond is a small town so there are not a lot of food choices. This is your typical family restaurant where the best things here are the staff, and the food and the prices. For breakfast they offer a lot of choices for a very reasonable price. Why wyould you go to mcdonalds and spend 5 bucks on a egg mcmuffin when you can just stop into Ken's and sit down and enjoy one of their reasonable prices specials. The only thing i would not really recommend is the potato pancakes, since those were really just your typically mcdonalds variety, otherwise everything else is perfectly fine.

Very friendly waitstaff. Fast service. Very inexpensive. I had the turkey buyer which was great! Lemon rice soup was OK. Dad had meat lovers omelet and said it was great.

Yum! Yes, it's another breakfast review by me. SURPRISE! :-) But Ken's is reallllllly good. This place happens to be up by my boyfriend's house and so it's a weekend place we frequent when up in Richmond. The coffee is fantastic, the eggs are really good - not sure what the put in them, but yum. The skillets are yummy and the waffle to die for. Staff is really friendly. Sometimes there's a wait on the weekends, but it's worth it!

There has not been one thing I've tried here that was bad. Their food is delicious and being that I own a business in town, normally I get sick of eating the same food from the same restaurant over and over. That is definitely not the case here. Their menu has an awesome variety of food, the restaurant has a great atmosphere, and is super clean as well! The last thing I'll say, which is one of the most important things in my opinion...EVERYONE is so nice and friendly.

How could you not give Zef and his staff a 5 star review. Him and Patty make sure you are happy no matter what. You can always find something on the menu that you will like. Wait staff is quite amazing also, they always make sure you have what you need, when you need it!

The food is... food. It's not terrible by any stretch, but it's seemingly equal to any Coney place or small diner. Their menu doesn't really strike me as notable or super unique, they serve standard diner food. I've only been into Ken's a few times, and it's typically under the same circumstances, but I think the best gauge of a diner is how they handle service at a busy time or on a jam-packed day. My experience at Ken's today was exactly that - Sunday morning brunch time meets the hungry crowds of the Good Ol' Days Parade. No complaints on the food other than the time it took for it to come to the table. The service was less than impressive. After slamming the menus down on the table, the waitress barked at one of my friends to move them so she could put down the place mats. She virtually threw the silverware across the table and plopped water glasses down as if she were annoyed with us. Bottom line is - I'm not a regular at Ken's. I'm there once a year on the day of the parade/festival. Sadly, my existing memory of this year will be the poor service, and this will probably influence my choice for lunch next year. It doesn't matter how busy the restaurant is, the service still need to be pleasant or the experience is spoiled.

I know the family from working in the city. Honest, loyal, hard working people they are and very friendly. The food is always hot, good and plentiful there and the prices are very inline for what they serve.

Wow. Incredible food. Even more amazing is the hospitality. You can tell that the owners of this place come from a long line of restauranteers. This is a family place and the feeling extended outward from the kitchen. the hostess was hilarious, which brought her son out of the kitchen to continue the banter. My parents absolutely insisted that we drive the half hour from the house to eat here. It is so worth it. The food is very basic county cooking. I had the beef stroganoff which was a heaping pile of noodles topped with stewed sirloin tips. Super tastey. Other offerings included city chicken and fish and chips. Nothing out of the ordinary or ethnic, just american cuisine done very well. The soups are all dynomite, especially the dill pickle soup and chicken noodle. Top shelf diner food all the way. i emplore you to check this spot out. You will leave smiling.

Excellent customer service! Great food at reasonable prices. Try the dill pickle soup it's delicious. Portions are large so is your not a big eater you can expect to take some home. You won't be disappointed. Votes best breakfast by WDiV TV.

I stop in from time to time, always early in the morning for breakfast. As is typical of diners, I always receive a hearty breakfast for a great price. Nothing fancy here, just good ole home cookin.

Took my family out for a drive going to go get a Christmas tree and decided to eat here before we got our tree. SAVE YOUR MONEY FOLKS!!! Though the restaurant is beautiful, the food on the other hand was horrible and took forever getting to our table.

Decor was not what I expected for a "country kitchen". The restaurant is beautiful, the food is good and the service was fast and friendly. Try the Hawaiian Omelet as it's delicious!

The owner and staff were great. Food was ok... I wouldn't tell anybody not to go there.
