I know it may not be in vogue to five-star a chain restaurant, but man I love Texas Roadhouse. In particular, their "Chicken Critters" (hand-battered chicken tenders) are out of control. They make me want to be a better person they are that good. The rolls with cinnamon butter have also historically been a sure-fire hit, though in my most recent visit the type of rolls they used changed from basket to basket. What's up with that? The rest of the menu looks a lot like what you would expect a Texas-themed steakhouse to look like. Which is to say that it is meat-driven and in no way is that a problem. I haven't had a steak that's changed my life, but I've always enjoyed my meals. I am consistently pleased with the service, and sometimes surprised by just how good their staff is. However if there were ever a long wait to see your server, you could always nosh on the peanuts at your table and then leave the shells on the ground just to stick it to 'em. OK, you're actually supposed to throw the shells on the ground so just sit there and enjoy.

The best steak I've had, ever, period. I've been here multiple times and I always get the same thing - 11 oz. Sirloin with a side of corn and mashed potatoes with cream gravy, and every single time it has been delicious. The steaks are cooked perfectly - juicy and flavorful to the point where it has honestly ruined my own steaks that I've cooked at home. One of the waiters said that they get first pick at the meat and get the freshest; I don't know if it's true but I believe it. The mashed potatoes are made of real potatoes, mashed and lightly seasoned. The cream gravy really makes it too, so don't get it without it if it's your first time. Lastly, the corn is so good! Like how do they make corn this good? It's sweet and lightly salty and peppered, it tastes fresh and flavorful. There's peanuts everywhere during their most busiest hours, but it doesn't give off the feeling of "unclean". The interior has everything made of wood and plays a lot of country music. The chairs are relatively comfortable. The rolls are good as well - my wife loves the cinnamon butter that comes with it. The waiters are usually attentive on average, only a few times I've waited for a refill, but this is my family's favorite restaurant so that's pretty good considering that. I seriously hope they don't change anything about the steaks - every single time I go it's been good. Get the smothered style as well - they give you a TON of sauteed mushrooms and onions.

This place makes EVERYTHING fresh! You can literally see that it was just made to your order. When you come in you get a piping-hot bread basket with some sweet whipped butter and a bucket of peanuts on the table. They refill your bread basket if you run out and people just eat the nuts and throw the shells on the floor. I ordered the smothered chicken with a side of fries and salad and it came out to about $14 including tax and tip. Food was delicious, portions were good, and service was great. Aside from the peanut shells all over the floor, the place is pretty clean.

Great steakhouse. I hate that it's a chain, but if you have to eat at a chain it's the best. Love all the steaks, especially the sirloins and filets. The green beans are an excellent side.

I often wrap franchises into a common mold but I can't with this restaurant. I really like this place. It's meat and potatoes establishment and they do a consistently good job delivering a decent steak at a decent price. The kids entrees are generous and more than my finicky crew can eat. For the longest time after they first opened they'd give out wooden tokens for free kids meals. Employees always take a bit of extra time to say hello or engage you in a quick conversation. Even when things are busy I've never felt rushed. Onto the steaks! The menu says they're "hand cut" but I personally doubt anyone has hands that sharp. They're USDA choice and there's obviously no need to overly season them to hide any lack of quality. The steaks are proudly displayed and taste every bit as good as they look. My favorite is the New York Strip. I've never had a portion not cooked exactly as I asked so they're obviously attentive back in the kitchen to the quality of the product they serve. Shout out to the chefs with the sharp hands! The peanuts on the floor thing is cool, too. Nothing like throwing stuff on the floor along with the kids and knowing someone else blessed the act and then cleans it up. Just don't try this at home...

Forget the fact that we had to wait several minutes to be greeted while tables around us were greeted promptly. Forget the fact that Aaliyah our server, who seemed to be a nice young lady, was less than attentive (she seemed distracted during our dining experience); I will not hold this against her because I recognize that everyone has an off day (still left a 20% tip). What I cannot forget is that while we sat waiting to be greeted, several servers/hostesses made eye contact and could see there were no drinks in front of us and attempted to do nothing to help. They may as well have lipped "not my problem" in our direction. What I also cannot forget is that when I took my daughter to the restroom to use the baby changing table, I was greeted by crumbs and uncleanliness. In fact, as I started looking around I noticed that the entire bathroom was filthy (i.e. back of toilet, walls, debris on the floor). I must have muttered my distaste loud enough for an employee to hear, because as I exited the restroom, my counterpart informed me that an employee had just come out saying that they NEEDED to get in there and clean those restrooms. Considering that there were 5 or so host/servers congregating at the host stand on our way out (all of whom were too busy to open the door as we exited) those bathrooms should be shining in no time. It saddens me because the cactus blossom, rib tips, and portobello mushroom chicken were all so amazing!!! That is the only reason I gave them 3 stars instead of something lower. Oh yeah, and while I appreciate the comped bill because we had to wait, a conversation with a manager would have been nice.

I read through all the very impressive reviews for this Texas Roadhouse and decided to give it a try. We called ahead to get our name on the list (a nice service). It was an extremely busy Saturday night. I think the call-in service helped us get seated in 15 to 20 minutes. Got off to a good start with peanuts, rolls and drink orders. Salad came with wrong dressing; a food runner (not the waiter) made the correction promptly. I ordered the "Country Fried Sirloin", described on the menu just as one would assume. The meal delivered turned out to be the "Country Fried Chicken". I pointed this out to the waiter and he said the two dishes are both the same. We looked at the menu together, he could not understand the difference between chicken and sirloin, so he asked another waiter for help. The second fellow confirmed my theory. It took quite a while for the correct entree to be served; quality of it was average. Wife's chicken/portabello dish was also average quality. Vegetables were on the salty side, even for me. Atmosphere? It was very noisy. Celebrations for birthdays abounded. One oddity: they did not have enough silverware at 6:15 pm on a Saturday; the waiter said they were folding it into the napkins and it took a while to get it. Strange. Bottom line? This is a popular family oriented restaurant with reasonable prices and some unique extras. I did not expect it to be some sort of fancy, high quality dining experience. The majority of reviews have been five stars. And for many people, I can understand those ratings. I really hoped to be pleasantly surprised by a well managed chain restaurant. For an older curmudgeon and Mrs. C, not so much. On balance, three stars seems fair.

After having two great experiences with this location I decided it was time to write a review. My boyfriend and I absolutely love this place. Every time we ordered a steak, it was perfectly cooked to order, they have some of the best chili we have head and their bread with butter is great as well. The ribs! Oh man, the ribs are fantastic as well as they fall right off the bone and the house BBQ sauce is great. Our favorite appetizer are the fried pickles, they have the thin round ones instead of having a whole pickle fried. They have a great drink selection for both mixed drinks and beer. Finally, the service is always great, especially at this location.

The food has become very bad over the years, recently it taste like your worse memory of school or hospital cafeteria at prices 10x more. The bbq chicken dinner is never what you think of, its the thinnest hardest flat meat concoction. The rib appetizer was dry in parts and tender in others. No way to eat here again. Im not sure what the happy reviewers ate but it wasnt recently, they just have no taste buds. Other great steak houses in area much better meat.

The Ribeye is the best I have had. Tender, juicey, and rolls that will melt in your mouth. Service is excellent.

Awesome food, peanuts & amazing bread as soon as you sit down, & fantastic service! & our bill was under $30 for 2 people, so great value as well (there's a before 6 dinner menu). Now a fav place to eat for me :) I would give it 6 stars if I could!

So the girlfriend and I were looking for a nice place to go to for my 30th birthday, and no, I wasn't about to waste it eating a cheeseburger. So we went to Texas Roadhouse. We came out with mixed feelings. The food was great- my steak was good, her chicken critters were good, and the atmosphere was great. The main reason this review is only two stars is thanks to our "server", a guy by the name of Joeseph. This guy is NOT the kind of person you want representing a restaurant. From the second we sat down, well, he quickly proved that this would be a memorable visit. After being told that we weren't interested in an appetizer, Joeseph made a remark- "Well, I'm going to try to convince you to get one anyways," and proceeded to tell us about the appetizers, even after we'd told him that we didn't want any. We practically had to fight to get some space to decide what we wanted to eat. After we decided, he was eventually around to take our orders. Now, I've never really worked in a restaurant- but I think when you take someone's order, you take the slip to the window and give it to the kitchen so that the food order can be cooked. You don't look over, slide into the booth directly across from us, and speak for a few minutes to a young lady seated there, and THEN take the order in, like Joeseph did. The food eventually came, and again Joeseph proved himself to be a less-than-capable waiter, as he neglected to refill our bread basket, even though it was sitting empty right in the middle of the table, plain as day. He repeatedly forgot the ranch dressing for her chicken critters. He made a tasteless remark while bringing the food to the table ("Oh, and I'll get you ANOTHER root beer, because you're powering through them." Gee, drinking something at a restaurant. I should be ashamed of myself, shouldn't I? Shame on me for enjoying a beverage when I'm thirsty, huh?) There was, however, a group that Joeseph seemed to enjoy paying attention to- a group of young people, who were seated about twenty feet away. It almost seemed like he couldn't tear himself away from them, that he constantly had to stop and socialize with them, to the point where we were left hanging for another drink because he was more interested with hitting on the young women at said table and spending time with his friends. About that time, I had to go to the restroom, and I casually looked over to see Joeseph busy socializing with the other table again. I made a remark to my girlfriend on how I bet her five bucks that Joeseph would stop by the table to see if anything was needed while I was in the bathroom. Turns out I could have made five bucks. According to her, not twenty seconds after I left the table did Joeseph come over, placing his hand on her shoulder, and asking if everything was all right. I don't know if he was trying to flirt with her, but given what we'd seen him doing before with the girl and the people at the other table, well... he was very lucky that I didn't see him, because I would have asked to see a manager right then and there. Finally, we were done with our meal, and we were taking the time to finish our drinks and let the food settle. Apparently, this was Joeseph's final cue to try and shove us out the door. Without asking if there was anything else we wanted- maybe a drink, making sure that we didn't want dessert or something (I would have gotten something- it's my birthday, you know?), we were curtly informed that he was going to be bringing the check. Yeah. Great people skills in that one. So the check was brought and the bill was paid- and for about five minutes, we were concerned that Joeseph was unable to make basic change, being shorted about forty cents on our change. After a while, Joeseph came by the table again with a dollar bill, claiming that "none of the other servers had any change, so I took this out of my own pocket." Then he hovered over the table, obviously awaiting a tip. "I get the feeling that you guys aren't happy with me." he said, and we spoke honestly to him, telling him that "If you'd spent as much time at our table, making sure we had everything, as you did at the other table, you would have gotten a tip." That was obviously Joeseph's cue to start whining at us, claiming "I was off a half-hour ago, and I was just waiting on you because I wanted to make sure you guys were happy." No, you just wanted an excuse to hang out with your friends and hit on women (possibly including my girlfriend), and whined when we called you on the fact that you were doing more of that than actual work. I'm going to be phoning Texas Roadhouse tomorrow afternoon, on my birthday, to inform the manager of this post and of our experience last night. If you go, the food's wonderful and the atmosphere great. Just pray to whatever deity you worship that you don't get Joeseph as your waiter- because he can make a birthday dinner feel like a school cafeteria lunch.

I've been to other locations in different states for this chain and waited to review to see if my experience would differ. But I have to say that all their restaurants have been nothing but consistent with great quality of food and staff. The Porterhouse steak and their chili are A-MAZ-ING!! Cleaned up my plate with their warm buttery bread...Yummmmm! Service was always friendly and attentive. This place definitely has me looking forward to my next visit. If you're looking for a great steak...all I got to say is "Roadhouse!" (In my Peter Griffin voice) ha ha ha

Nine people and nine great meals. Great steaks, burgers, pork and ribs, shrimp and I had a delicious grilled chicken salad. Did you know you can pick out your steak before you sit down? All sides ordered were tasty and the women loved the marshmellow topped sweet potatoes.Great rolls,of course. They treated us right and even divided up the check with no complaints We were charged each time we got a lemonade refill, however. Thought that was sillyand annoying. Service was very good. We were the last ones to leave the place.

Locally, this is the best steakhouse i have visited. I have never had any issue with the food or service here and both have always been excellent. This is one of the few restaurants that i have been to locally that actually knows how to cook a steak to a level other than "well done". They are always spot on with my steaks at a perfect medium. I also like the environment, it's got the country & blue collar feel to it.

This has been my 4th visit to this Texas Roadhouse and I don't live anywhere near kazoo. I come out here on business once a year and I know chain places can be good and bad depending on where you go. This review is for this Texas roadhouse. The service was great very attentive. I thought the hot rolls were fabulous (would have been better for breakfast than dinner). The steaks are in a butcher type case when you walk in and if you see one you really like they will make you that one. Everything was cooked to order and was flavorful but not overly seasoned to hide the great flavor of the meat. The potatoes are baked Ina buttery salt mixture which for me was Terrific as I even ate the skin ( which my mom always said has all the vitamins :) they gave my a bag of peanuts to take back to the hotel with me and the waitress were so kind engaging and never to busy to ask you how you are doing where you are from etc.. Needless to say I will try other Texas roadhouse restaurants but I don't know how they can get any better than this one.

This is my wife's Favorite restaurant. Anytime I am in trouble, all I have to do is take her here. They are usually busy during dinner, so call ahead. This is your Basic Meat and Potato restaurant. Their Steaks are good. Not a fan of their rice though.
