Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This restaurant is part of a family-owned non-family owned, same name non-franchise sometimes copycat category of Port Huron Mexican food. Growing up here it seems to be unique to the area and is almost like a hybrid of how a "Mexican" restaurant would be run if it were a Coney Island. The cornerstone of this unique cuisine is the Jumbo Burrito with sauce and sour cream. Which is a huge white flour tortilla with ground beef, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. The sauce is a chili/cumin based gravy which is poured over top. This is served along with about half a pint of sour cream. Each table is also brought a basket of fresh made tortilla chips and homemade mild & hot salsa served in squirt bottles. You can be veganized by asking for a veggie jumbo (ask for beans & rice) with sauce and no sour cream, no cheese. The correct way to eat this masterpiece is by cutting and smushing it all together. Then I prefer to use the chips as utensils to optimize my carbohydrate and calorie intake.

Zero stars is what should go here!!! But need to get it posted to warn people to go to anywhere but here !!! Should have known when I asked the waitress what she liked here and she replied. " I like the hamburgers " . I should have left but I like giving the independents my business.. at least I don't think they microwave the hamburgers. Anything from Gorden Food Service was even poorly prepare and presented. Tried to eat the combination plate the worst enchilada ever, and the sauce was hideous. Refried beans where flat out nasty and just heaped in the center of the plate like stucco.. Its like they are not even trying to put out a good product. Paid my bill and left praying I didn't get sick....

uncharting unfamiliar territory on a sunday afternoon was definitely an adventure i was looking forward to. bf suggested we go to port huron for an impromptu day trip. when it came time to satisfy my hungry belly's appetite (when am i NOT hungry?), i figured let's do mexican since it would be easier for my bf and i'm not a very picky eater. leave it to my trusty iphone to locate such a place. i was presented with several choices within a two mile radius. based on our location (thanks, gps) we picked a place that was located within 0.1 miles away. when we got there, it was closed (supposedly, it was called amigos, now it was billed as red pepper 5 or something like that). so back to the phone i go. we were led to another restaurant about a quarter of a mile red pepper north. they must be a franchise or something. arrived and place was empty but clean. studied the menu and asked the server what their specialty is. they mentioned their big burrito. they had smaller version of it since the server showed with her hands that the regular one was the size of a foot long sub! we ordered the same, both chicken smaller size. fast forward to 7 minutes and we were presented with the burrito that was engorged with cheese, lettuce and tomato mile high. the chicken was stuffed deep inside the flour-wrapped tortilla and everything doused with some kind of brown sauce. maybe the sauce was to resemble some kind of salsa? the sauce looked like it came straight from the can. in fact, the chips and salsa we got we straight from the box. interestingly enough, the salsa was enclosed in squirt bottles that you would normally find for ketchup/mustard. definitely wasn't expecting that since i'm used to having warm tortilla chips with the mild and hot salsas in earthenware cups. the taste of the burrito did not wow me or my bf. i made a comment to him: "you know i could go to taco bell and get the same thing and only spend $2-3?" and he agreed the same, funny thing is that he's NEVER been to taco bell. burrito tasted like something from taco bell. had i known that the quality was going to be like that i would've drove down the extra half mile and bought it from there instead of spending $15. so glad mexicantown is only a half hour drive and well worth it. more authentic and more to offer.

Tried take out tonight. Enchilada dinner was really good however the green hot sauce cost $2.75 in their smallest container with take out. Better to eat in at no charge or you can get the red for free. Over all always great food! Good service.

I dream about their flour tortilla, beef tacos. It's Tuesday today, and I just had two delicious tacos for $1.50.

3 corn 3 flour. Great deal on taco tuesday. Medium mexican fare at fair prices. Its not mexican town but its not terrible either. If you're in the area and craving mexican, its about your only choice besides taco bell. I prefer this Red Pepper on the north end, near Krafft road, it seems a bit cleaner than the others.
