Always enjoy myself, the local crowd, and the food. Glad to see recent improvements and attentive staff. Kent, the owner, is a gem and always willing to say hi. Check it out, whatever your flavor.

Delicious burger and fries. The chips were stale that came with the dip, but the salsa and black beans were good. We had an extremely nice waitress. If I'm ever back in Pontiac, I would come back.

I actually searched for "oil change" on yelp and this came up, which is pretty hilarious because it's a gay bar, but i've been there before so here's my review: I went in once and had some shots. There are black lights and rainbow shit everywhere. There was loud pop and techno playing. I didn't eat here but thought the drinks were pretty reasonable. There aren't many nonclub bars in pontiac and i was pretty pleased with this place. The staff are SUPER gay. While I am straight, there wasn't anything that made me feel uncomfortable. It wasn't really popping or anything but I went in for a drink after a shitty work day so it was only like 6 or 7pm on a weekday. There was a paucity of women, but it's a gay bar early on a weekday so big surprise.

Rude and deceptive. When I walked in, I was one of three customers. The person behind the bar was talking to the other two, turned and saw me enter, then turned away to finish his conversation, never speaking to me. Then another person came out and I asked about drink specials. I ordered a bourbon and coke because he said well drinks were on special. After he had my money in his hand and I'd sipped the drink he informs me that he doesn't have a well bourbon so my drink is twice what he said earlier. It was a decently strong drink though, just wish he had been upfront about pricing since I had asked.

Literally the only place to eat that I found open in Pontiac on a Sunday. It's like you people have never heard of brunch before! Ridiculous! Why I am in Pontiac, Michigan on a Sunday however, is of no concern to you. Next question! So I walk in and there's nobody there. Shocker. The one guy working there by himself is blasting some pop/dance song. Doesn't even notice me and my friend walk in. He was rocking out though. I guess I can't blame him, it being slow and all. Whatever. So we sit down. The menu is a little weak. Some sandwiches. Some burgers. Some fried finger foods. Not one single thing jumped out at me. I ordered a house salad and a turkey reuben. I should have nothing to complain about with the salad. The menu literally says "fresh greens, onions, and tomatoes." That's exactly what I got. But man did it suck. The fresh greens was just some chopped ice berg lettuce. The onions were sliced white onions (WHO PUTS WHITE ONIONS ON A SALAD?!). And the guy must have sliced up an entire tomato for the rest of this salad. Far too much. There was not enough balsamic vinegar in this bar to add some taste to this salad. The reuben is what really offended me, however. This turkey reuben came on just some toasted wheat bread it seemed. No rye in sight! the thousand island dressing was bland and runny, which made the bread soggy. And it was served with tortilla chips! TORTILLA CHIPS! This is freaking sacrilege. Not to mention the dip that came with them. I still have no idea what it was. Spinach dip? French onion? What the hell happened to my reuben?! WHERE AM I?

Grumble, grumble, grumble! Why aren't you more awesome?! I love a gay bar. I love Pontiac. I want to love you Liberty. But when seven tiny shrimp show up drowning in butter (or was it supposed to be olive oil?) and sprinkled with miscellaneous burned floaties (garlic?), what can I think? My date paid eight dollars for that? We went with someone who had been a regular here a while back, and he was disappointed to see it so empty on a Friday night. He also told us they've changed the menu, had a little cry in his beer about it. (Looking at older reviews I can see it's true--they don't have the jambalaya or Mark's Italian sandwich anymore.) But in all fairness, my husband's sandwich was good, and our bartender kept the drinks coming. The place is clean and they had the disco balls and laser lights going. Fun music. So it wasn't that bad. Maybe if I hadn't ordered the shrimp? Maybe if they were hosting one of their events (karaoke, service industry night, s.t.u.d. sunday...) I could have seen more of what the Liberty has to offer? Gonna put her on the back burner for a while. She deserves a second chance.

My friend and I decided to check out Liberty Bar while in town for a wedding. We arrived on a Saturday night around 11:30 pm. The place was pretty much empty. Not exactly the norm for the DC area but this was the burbs of Michigan. The bartender was very friendly and we enjoyed the fresh popcorn. Drink prices were cheap or cheaper than I would pay in DC. We were pleasantly surprised that they had karaoke that evening.

I have been here many times. Great friendly staff and not your typical for this type of place. There are so many regulars here..couples..singles..always smooth and never negative..its a fun place and they offer karaoke. Its not a meat market by no means..pretty upscale in my opion. the food is great for bar food-better than bar food. i have eaten all their sandwiches. Most excellent. Soup is always good here & I love soup.

I've been to Liberty a few times, and it was always a pleasant experience. They have really great mixed drinks - and huge portions, considering. I hate going to places and getting a thimble-sized cup (I'm being figurative, of course). They get out these fluted goblets that are just full of good stuff. Margaritas anyone? The food, on the other hand, I wasn't quite impressed with. Any place that has jambalaya on their menu usually would get a thumbs up from me, but not Liberty for the sheer fact that they didn't get it right. The jambalaya was bland (if it's even possible to do Cajun BLAND?) and generally unpleasant. Considering all I got was the jambalaya and no sides for $10, I was pretty disappointed. I hear the sandwiches don't share the same fate as the jambalaya, but I haven't had them. It'd be a good place to have an after work drink, but I'd go there before I'd plan a work lunch or other such event to test the food before making a meal of it, so to speak.
