I really enjoyed the bone-in wings with asian sauce. Also, I had veggie pizza with bacon (because it is always better with bacon!) The server was excellent; attentive without being intrusive. Will return and bring friends!

I came here with a group of ladies on a Friday evening. I had never been and was looking forward to trying a new place. I would rank it between a 3 and a 4. It's a bar... They have a lot of appetizers, a few sandwiches, burgers, salads and a few entrees. I would say the coolest thing about the Plymouth Roc is all the events they host. When I was there they had a DJ that night/dancing, but they also advertised trivia nights (Wednesdays, I believe) and they have "paint and pour" nights, which are always a lot of fun. In regards to the food, I ordered the southwestern egg roll appetizer. It was ok. $9 for two egg rolls split in two is a little steep. They weren't that generous and I would have preferred a southwestern sauce/ranch to go with it, but they provided an Asian sauce that I didn't think paired well with the southwestern flavors... The other ladies I was with got salads and a burger and all enjoyed them. Overall, I would come back to have a burger and watch a game (they had PLENTY of Tv's).

Love this bar. Great atmosphere and the food here is delicious. Very comfortable if you just want to have a beer and relax.

I was here for a "paint and pour" event, where my friends and I ordered drinks and appetizers. The prices for our drinks were reasonable and the selection good, and the appetizers were fresh and tasty. The service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely come to Plymouth Roc again, as I feel it's a nice place to meet up with friends for drinks and food after work!

I'm teetering at 3.5 stars. Some days this place is a 5. Some days it's a 3, but it's rarely a disappointment. The service is always really good...even when it's busy. The one exception is that if you come here during the day midweek and the bartender has to handle the bar and all of the tables. Then it gets a little spotty. Pretty much make a regular appearance here for Motor City Soul. This isn't a review of Motor City Soul, but they generally play every month and are definitely worth the trip if you're into Motown covers. The gripes I have about this place are with the menu. The lunch menu is different from the dinner menu. There are several sandwiches and things that are available at lunch that you can't get at dinner (and vice versa I think). I know that is commonplace at other types of establishments, but generally not at bars. I'd like to see more crossover between the lunch and dinner menu. Don't want to serve steak before 4? Fine. I get it. But don't pull sandwiches off the menu between lunch and dinner. It just doesn't make much sense to me. I came in twice in the last week. I ordered the French Dip both times. The first time, the meat was a little thicker cut and tender. It was one of the best French Dips I've ever had. Next time, the meat was cut thin, it was dry and similar to the "steak" you would get at any sub shop. The contrast in quality and taste was dramatic and disappointing. Overall, this place is solid. Good place to watch sports. Good place to catch live music. Good beer selection. With the above issues noted, a good place to eat as well. Prices are very reasonable and they often have specials too.

Bad ass 1st time here.... This live band "Don't Blink" & the Mngrs/servers seem to make this place the 'place to be' on a Friday/Saturday night (here in Plymouth) I gotta say this is So much better than the restaurants in Dtwn Plymouth. SOOOO much better BUT All the hype is that restaurant AQAU opening up in Dtwn Plymouth. ANYWAYS!!! This place and that new AQUA restaurant I feel are going to be my new stomping ground when me and my friends go out. I own restaurants, I know because "I get it" This place is low key and excels Greatly at what they do best, a good night out with friends. Customer for life, 5 stars! no doubt about it. Ask for Jessica, she's worth the request to be your server. #justsayin

I would try to go 3.5 but the star thing will not let you - I have been a regular here for a while and we typically go every Wednesday night for Trivia. I liked the menu better before teh change they made last October. Obviously the prices were raised and the happy hour food specials are less in number. In addition, they got rid of a few things that were very good and added some items that are OK. Overall the food is above average and portions are actually pretty good . The new decor is inviting and the atmosphere is good as always, nice mix of people and the waitstaff is excellent.

The food here is good and the waitresses are so friendly- when you can hear them. They removed carpeting but continue to have music at questionable levels. We came on separate nights, when they did not have live music, we loved the place. But when they have a band, the sound level is out of control. I am concerned for the employees hearing, I'm actually surprised they haven't had a law suit.

Came here last night with the wifey because I had another Restaurant.com gift certificate to use up. We had been here once before, before their "remodel" and it was an okay place. We are not drinking right now so we did not partake in the limited happy hour specials, but the atmosphere was not too loud, but still had a decent amount of customers playing pool and just generally hanging out. Food wise, we came away impressed that this place had some good choices- before, I had the BBQ Bacon burger and that was pretty good... today I chose the half-chicken dinner (herb) and my wifey had the fish and chips. Our meals came with a salad (decent, but nothing extraordinary), and a cup of clam chowder for me which was actually very good- not too salty, good clam flavor and bacon floating around. Our entrees were definitely good for a bar/grill experience- her fish was succulent and fried well, just got a little greasy as it sat (which happens)... and my chicken was I believe oven-roasted and slightly dry, but the flavor of the skin with the meat was savory and what I was looking for. Fries for her and redskins for me were generic but served their purpose as energy-giving starches. Service was good too, our server, while stretched pretty thin was attentive and was able to answer some of my questions regarding the apps (and her non-endorsement of the chicken wings probably saved me from a poor meal experience). Of course we're mostly homebodies so I can't comment on the bar scene, but this place is a very nice looking "dive" with a stage and open mic night, so i'm sure if you're looking for a Plymouth- but not downtown Plymouth- place to hang out, Plymouth Roc is all right in my book for a meal, a drink and maybe a game of pool.

Atmosphere was good but food just average. Prime rib wasn't juicy, had to request au jus. Pulled pork had way too much barbecue sauce. Long wait for our appetizers. New York Strip was decent.

I haven't been here since it was Boulder's, which in its day was a fun spot to hang out. Plymouth Roc seems to be improved from what it was previously. I am a little curious about the spelling of their name though. We stopped in to see what there was to see and ended up sticking around for the band playing Saturday night. Off the bat I noticed a very eclectic group of people not to mention a wide variation in the age of bar goers. The waitstaff was great, the restroom was clean, the food looked good (though we didn't eat this time around) and the small corner gaming area was a nice distraction between sets. I think this may be my new Plymouth spot. I'll update once I've had a chance to try some of their fare.

Awesome place to sit down with family or friends and have a great meal! All the people there were super nice and caring, including the owner! I would recommend going to check the place out.

The staff seemed rude to me I asked a question about the price of beers and she gave me attitude and a good friend of mine was threatened by one of the owners friends in the bathroom when he was taking a leak but they usually have good bands

What a great find! I literally have driven pass this gem everyday for three years. Now that I've stopped in, I will be a regular! The wait staff is exceptional...and the chef, yes... I said chef, is top notch. You have to try the cod, lamb chops, and perch. The owner is very personal and really makes everyone feel welcome! It's a neighborhood bar and great dinning all in one. Stop in..you won't regret it!

Sometimes there's a $5.00 cover charge to see a live band. The bands are usually rock, country rock, or a modern music DJ. I performed there on a Friday night. Their pizza was better than expected (i worried that the pizza would be frozen). The sauce was mild with plenty of cheese and spicy pepperoni. The service was fast. I got the pizza in 10 minutes. The bar offers many different beers in the bottle and on tap. I asked for "anything red that's also beer" and they had a red beer on tap. At 9:00pm the bar was packed with about 70 or 80 people dressed very casually jeans and t-shirts. Some leather jackets and a few dresses, but for the most its a friendly blue-collar crowd. everything on the menu is under $10 and the room smells like someone's cooking something wonderful. The decor is a typical rock bar with tables and an outdoor cafe with a dozen tables too. This place is good for all ages and i will return (hopefully to perform music again).

I've been to Plymouth Roc many times and always found it decent, but not great. I went last night with my kids hoping to grab a quick pizza before we had to be somewhere. Big mistake. Our waitress took our order, got our drinks and then we literally never saw her again. Or any other server for half an hour. I had to almost pounce to even get this server's attention. When asked why it was taking so long, she went to check and said my pizza was burned and that it would take about 6 minutes to make us a new one. I asked her why, if it only took 6 minutes, that it was taking over 30. She offered to give us the pizza half off and I very nicely asked to speak to the manager. She then told me my waitress had left for a family emergency. That is understandable. What isn't is why someone didn't come tell me this to begin with! A total of 45 minutes after taking our order, we got our pizza. The server said the manager would pay for the whole pizza. We were almost leaving when the manager finally came over to apologize. It was eventually handled right, but I am still amazed by the whole experience! I think the Roc needs better management, especially considering that all of the servers hung out in the back by the bar and there were only a few tables full when we were there. It's not the servers' fault, it's management's.

Dark and dingy. the food was poor in the service was less than stellar. used to be a great place 10-15 years ago now its just a little rough.

I had never been to the Roc before so I was very excited because I have friends who rave about trivia nights. My first impression was the extremely unfriendly hostess who sat us. Our waitress was fine, but our appetizer took a while to come out. My friend and I split a pizza which was very average. When I asked my waitress to do something for me, she said she was sorry she was really busy and couldn't. I can not remember ever having a server tell me she and the bartender were too busy...that was the last straw for me and I most likely will never go back. The best part of the experience was the band.

The place is pretty cool, overall. They have a patio out front where you can sit on nice days, and the inside is big and has a cool stage that would be great for a good band. The food was decent, nothing real special. I found the service to be a bit slow at times and the drinks were a bit weak. $7+ for a long island, that thing better sing! Unfortunately, it did not. :/

First time visiting and two thumbs up. Intriguing name and restaurant.com brought us in. We were a bit skeptical as it is a Saturday night around 6 pm and the place is empty. But Saturday is DJ night and the crowds come in later. The food was very good. Burger cooked to order and pretty darn good. I had the chicken dinner. Two very large chicken breasts smothered with artichoke and chees, very nicely seasoned rice and 6 large broccoli crowns were more than adequate. We will definitely be back as hubby got to watch all the tvs and didn't miss any of the U.S Open. They even have some individual tvs in a few booths. The only complaint is the sticky menus...why can't restaurants wipe these things down?

WHY NO REVIEWS MICHIGAN ?! I live in California and I can review. We went to visit a friend, and he told us he loves this place. He is an older guy - he isn't coming for the karaoke or anything but the food. And its good. Nice menu, big variety. I got nachos - others got fish&chips, burgers etc.. everything was great and the price is right. There were 6 of us for dinner, we all ate and drank, and it was about $125. WOW. Can't get that kind of great food / price in So Cal. Karaoke started and they had some people there singing, that were really good. I would definitely come here again. Great service, nice bouncer - very nice.

You have to try the Cajun grilled Talapia, it is very good. There bar burgers are as good as any bar around. They have nightly entertainment. They have good happy hour drink specials.

I want to like it more! Came in on a Friday night a couple weeks ago btwn 10 & 11 pm for a late night drink and app with my husband. There were maybe ten people inside. We sat at the bar, ordered some cheesy fries and fried pickles which were good, standard pub fare. There is a stage and moderate sized dance area. A band was playing and the sound in there was terrible! It was so loud not just volume wise, but the band itself sounded bad--poorly tuned instruments drowning out the singer. No one seemed to be enjoying it. The place is clean, they've newly remodeled and condensed their menu. We live closeby and can walk down, but everytime we do, it's like we cant wait to head somewhere else. The vibe is off. I can't put my finger on what's wrong with the place but something is lacking. I notice more and more the fewer and fewer patrons every time we go. Perhaps they need a totally new theme or concept.
