Wow!!! This place is going downhill... and quick!!! Ernie- I should have read your yelp before we went! Maybe we could have had something that was at least edible! My husband wanted to stay close for his birthday dinner, so we opted to go back to Courthouse Grille- we may have been better off going to McDonalds... The gentleman who greeted us and showed us to our table was very nice and picked up on the fact it was a special evening. We chatted with him for a little while and it all went downhill from there. I think there was only one waitress for the three tables that were full and we could already hear issues. We overheard the table next to us that they didn't get their dinner salads and one steak wasn't cooked correctly. Oh boy. fingers crossed. The waitress came over VERY frazzled so we just briefly talked to her, she seemed less than interested in our conversation. We just asked how long she has been working there and how she liked it. Ok. Next. She took our drink order and gave us a chance to look over the menus. After what seemed like a little too long, she came back for our dinner orders- still without drinks. It wasn't like we ordered tough drinks... we ordered Labatt... draft. We ordered our dinners, no substitutions or changes. My husband ordered one of the specialty steaks with a side house salad and I ordered the appetizer crab cakes (I am a HUGE sucker for crab cakes). It took a little while longer for our beers to come out. We sat and enjoyed. Our dinners came out before the salad. My crab cakes were very sad, they were SOAKED with vegetable oil and barely crunchy. When I tried to separate them with the fork, oil just oozed out. When I put them in my mouth, oil just coated my mouth. They were TERRIBLE! My poor birthday husband's dish was even worse! His VERY expensive steak was more than well-done albeit the request for medium rare. It was so chewy to the point of disgusting! The mashed potatoes seemed to be a mush paste with maybe some garlic. The only thing that was edible on his dish was the three large stalks of asparagus. Still very hungry, because I could not even eat half of my cake, I asked the waitress for my husband's salad. She said "Oh, I didn't bring that?" Nope, she didn't. We still waited. Finally, the gentleman that was very nice to us when we sat walked by and I waved him down to ask him for the salad. He brought it promptly but the dressing was wrong.... at this point, it was the least of our worries!!! Although almost nothing on our plates was consumed, we did not bother asking for doggie bags.... We opted to order dessert since a small house salad was not enough to hold us over until we got home! Our waitress never asked how everything was nor questioned why nothing was eaten. We didn't bother asking for the manager or anything.... Our total bill was almost $70 and the only thing we ate was the delicious lemon cake dessert and the salad with the wrong dressing. At least the beer was cold :) Wont be back.

First the service was great. Our waitress was A-OK. The food was not so good. I had this dish that sounded good but was horrible (chicken ernesto). Their idea of picante sauce was a melted stick of butter and some garlic. Tried some of the risotto from my dates plate. There was no flavor whatsoever. They had new england clam chowder that had corn in it and was a weird color brown. Sorry I wanted to lke this place.

This restaurant gives the diner a very dangerous challenge, "You Be the Judge". That's the slogan...so I'm doin' it. Sub-par everything. A restaurant that truly doesn't know it's own face. Calling it American/Italian is laughable at best. Our server was pretty fun, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was average at best for how high the prices were. The owner was there managing the evening, and he was super nice with a very calming voice. I wanted him to read me a book at bedtime with his very relaxing and gracious tone. But, let's be honest, it's really the food that matters most. We all got very different dishes, and we all tried each others, from pasta, to fish, to steak to a burger...all mediocre. Also, the inside looks like the dining room of a retirement home..just sayin.

Service was excellent! Chris was our waiter and he was very attentive and professional. The lobster mac and cheese was good but not great. It was the cheese combination that didn't wow me. The bread and dipping oil is delish and the peach sangria is a definite yes!

I'm here on a yearly basis for a luncheon for the last seven years. Not certain why I haven't reviewed before but here goes. Today's choice of steak was dismal. It was loaded with both fat and gristle. The topping of mushroom sauce was tasty, but salty. Reminiscent of MSG. The side of redskin potatoes was dripping in oil. The green beans were overcooked. The cannoli dessert was excellent. So good it made things better. Here's the other thing that I have never understood. There isn't any hot water in the women's restroom today or for the last seven years. What is up with that? Today's staff was both friendly and attentive. This has not been the case for the last seven years. So this is an improvement. I would not choose to dine here or recommend it to anyone.

This is a redo of the old Ernesto's restaurant whose reputation was not stellar. I was misled a bit by the name change, Ernesto is still involved with this joint, This is better than the old Ernesto's but it is still not great. I ordered the chicken marsala and was kind of surprised when it came out with artichokes. Happily surprised I must say as I am a huge fan of artichokes but that is more a piccata veggie than a marsala one in my opinion. It worked though, tasty for me and the chicken was perfectly cooked. I received some red skin potatoes with it that were a tad overcooked and generally tasteless but the broccoli on the plate was very nice. The salad was standard and the balsamic was fine on it. James got a NY Strip that was a bit overcooked to my taste, more medium than medium rare and a bit tough. He was fine with it but I would have sent it back. His rice side was oddly crunchy, I guess they do not have a rice cooker. His minestrone was not a fave of either of us and had to be sent back because it was not hot enough the first time around. The service was friendly and efficient. The menu is very similar to what it was before. The food is slightly improved but still a bit hit or miss. I would not rush over or anything. You also may want to skip the steaks if you go.

I have eaten here several times and have to say that itt's been a steady decline each time. Last night we joined friends at 6pm and the dining room was pleasantly full. There is a nice feel to this place. I really like the crisp white table linens and napkins. Our server was Kyla and she was very pleasant, professional and attentive. Unfortunately, that didn't help the food. It was not good. I had the grilled salmon and it was over-cooked and very dry. The accompanying asparagus was good and tender crisp. My husband and male friend had the prime rib. Both stated it was tough and tasteless even though the ordered medium, but got rare. The seafood gumbo and Frensh onion soups were okay. My female friend ordered the pecan crusted walleye. What was served looked like 4 small pieces of dark wood chips. She said it was bad and probaby should have sent it back. For dessert we shared the red velvet cheesecake and triple fudge cake. Both were straight from the refrigerator and served very cold . He fudge cake was kind of good but the cheesecake,,,not good. Even the coffee was meh. The problem lies totally in the kitchen. The head chef was off for the evening for a family event we were told. Whoever was in charge last night must have been a busboy because none of us enjoyed our meal. Need to mention the crumbling concrete and poor patch jobs outside at the entrance. Needs to be replaced, not more patch jobs. It looks awful and makes a very poor first impression . We won 't be returning.

We had our wedding reception here on Saturday, August 10, 2013. Everything went off exactly like we planned. The food was fresh and delicious. We worked with the owner and he was on top of everything. Truly a great experience!

Been there many times, hosted an event there. Not normally disappointed. This time, I was. My daughter ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo. $13 for a small to medium size portion, with no salad, no sides, etc is just outrageous. I ordered a steak sandwich with out the horseradish sauce. It had it on. Didn't feel like waiting, so I didn't bother asking for a replacement, just scraped it off. Those two things left a bad taste in my mouth for the evening. There are other choices, we will go elsewhere. I will miss the Berry Blast. It is always good. Prime Rib and Ribs were good. Asparagus was WAY over cooked. Or it had been sitting all day. Service was just meh. Hence the "Meh" rating.

My wife and I got a restaurant.com gift certificate & went to have a nice dinner (so we thought) without the kids for a change. We have never been here and it's literally 3 miles from the house! we had family members hold wedding showers at this place. anyways, We walked in and seen everyone's food...& it looked & smelled awesome! the place seems a bit ran down & dated but whatever, food looked great on people plates and the atmospehere was laid back. We sat down ordered drinks & appetizer...they brought out hot bread in a basket with the olive oil & pepper for dipping, smelled amazing! FIRST grab at a piece of bread to dip it & THERE WAS A FU**ING **ROACH** baked on top of the Bread! I don't have any reason to BS anyone & i don't have any reason to rip on this place! But first impressions only happen once. where there is (1) roach there are 1,000's of roaches. roaches are a sign of Filth as you all know. hair in the food is acceptable, maybe a fly...stuff happens. but roaches are not! the freakin manager didnt even come out to talk to us or apologize explain or anything! that kinda makes me more angry than a roach being in our food! but then again, what could he/she have possible said or done? DO NOT eat here!!!

The wife and I visited last night for our wedding anniversary. Having a Restaurant.com gift card helped get us there. I saw other reviews that mentioned the musty smell and have to agree with that. However, other than that, we have absolutely no complaints. The owner/manager(?) came over to make sure the dining room temperature was to our liking. The fried cheese filled artichoke heart beignets were great as an appetizer. My wife enjoyed her tenderloin and shrimp and the steak was cooked a perfect medium for her. The pork shank osso buco was really good and filling. I can't put my finger on what it was, but It had an interesting/different flavor from what you usually get from occo buco. My wife said she detected a smoky flavor...Maybe from the bacon? The mashed potatoes got a little lost in everything. Maybe they could use more of a plate than a bowl so the potatoes could get spread out and not get lost in the sauce. Our waitress was very friendly and on top of things. And to top things off, they gave us a free dessert for our anniversary. The chocolate-covered peanut butter whatever-the-heck-it-was was delicious. It might be a little pricey, but if you can get a good deal through restaurant.com , go for it. .. If I could could give 4 1/2 for the mustiness, I would. Since I can't, they get a 5.

Got a coupon for the Courthouse Grill and gave it a try. There were only two other diners for lunch. The staff were nice. I wasn't sure what to order, so I asked for suggestions. The waitress suggested the beef tenderloin and chicken parmesan, among other things, so that's what we ordered. The beef tenderloin was tiny, which was okay because it was so bad I didn't want to eat it. It was dry and grisely. The onion soup was bad as well with WAY to much pepper. The veal parmesan was better, but again overcooked. Too bad because the lunch menu prices were very reasonable. We will NOT go here again.

Just ate here with my mom and husband for the Thanksgiving buffet! Service was top-notch. They were well-staffed with a visible manager and happy to accommodate special requests. Food quality was good. Items tasted homemade. Cranberry sauce was fantastic. Turkey, ham, garlic knots, pastas, and antipasti were liked by all. Desserts were the real standout, especially the cherry pie fresh from the oven and the cheesecakes. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is that most of the food was lukewarm and ended up getting dry because all of the tops were left off of the heated serving dishes! Also, the prime rib was far too well done (beautifully seasoned, but gray and dry). We would return for another buffet if the temperature issue is addressed.

Was an extremely disappointing experience, waitress was rude, the room was bland at best, took almost two hours to get salads which were delivered with an attitude. I will never go back. Not what you expect when trying to treat your staff and spending $1000 and then being forced to pay another $200 in a tip. There is so much more out there in the area. They will never survive treating people like that.
