Excellent breakfast and lunch restaurant, grew from a dilapidated afterthought at the local (tiny) airport to a bright, clean and comfy place with wood tables, seasonal decorations (actually, over the top for Halloween and a couple other holidays) and a grill on the other side of a partition often staffed by the owner. Who, by the way, has a great menu sense. More creativity than you'd expect in a place like this, including veggie scrambles with everything from asparagus to sun dried tomatoes. The menu is limited but the real treats are on the whiteboard and get taken off as they run out. Including freshly made pies and an occasional cake, and local fruits and vegetables when in season (think strawberry shortcake and blueberry pancakes and rhubarb pie). Avoid weekend mornings if you want to linger - there is often a line and reading the paper over breakfast on Sunday isn't part of the culture here (which is to say there are only ~10 tables). And don't be shy about sharing your table with others when a line starts to form. Staff is generally friendly and quick. Coffee ordinary but food (breakfast and lunch) terrific. I only regret they're not open for suppers.

One of my favorite local places. Breakfast is terrific - cook puts a good crust on the corned beef hash. Burgers are very decent, BLT has cheese plus they mix the mayo with chopped lettuce to be different. If the special is the pork patty sandwich with BBQ sauce, cole slaw and frizzled onions, GET IT! Soups are home-made and great. Good, basic food in a friendly place at good prices. Sit at the big table to make new friends. What's not to like?

We came in with 15 people as our last meal together after a weekend-long family reunion. While the place was small, they worked hard to make space for all of us and were so nice about it. I had a vegetable and cheese scramble with bacon in it and it was really tasty. Everyone seemed to like their food as well. The coffee was a little weak, but not everything is perfect. The owner soon realized that our guest of honor was Grandma who celebrated her 94th birthday the day before. He told us that he would buy her breakfast for her in her honor. So nice! The airplane photos and history were fascinating. There were tons of those wooden signs with paints sayings on them, which can look overwhelming or hokey, but somehow worked. They had ones that appealed to women in the ladies room. My 7-year-old daughter now has "well behaved women rarely make history" as her motto. And watching the antique and collector planes take off right out the windows at the Plainwell airport was a real treat. This was the kids' favorite part. Hope we come back here next year for the next birthday celebration/reunion breakfast.

We had a family reunion in the area and had a great breakfast here. The staff was very accommodating with our large party, and the manager was friendly and helpful getting us arranged. And everyone enjoyed their meals! Plus - we got to watch the small planes take off! The kids and adults loved it. We picked just right and we would come here again.

Great place to eat and a really nice airport to fly into. Good diner food right on the end of the runway.

Only serve breakfast until 11 on Saturdays. Not smart from a business standpoint, especially considering that they close at 2. Also don't accept credit cards or debit cards-why? Very very disappointed.

This is an awesome little restaurant to check out if you're looking for something in the Plainwell area with a little less of a bar feel. Although it's in the airport parking lot, you won't have to worry about Boeing 7 series jets tearing the roof off. It's actually quite charming to see a few single engine planes landing and taking off while you enjoy a great meal. I recommend this place for breakfast.

Best local resturaunt! They use fresh ingredients, grow their own veggies in the summer, and grind their own beef for their amazing burgers! They have an omelet with spinach, feta and mushrooms I believe. Delicious pancakes and homemade bread. All this great homemade food while watching planes fly in and out of the Plainwell Airport.

I understand they may have had an issue with the health department lately. Just something I overheard a couple of customers chatting with the waitress about. I have eaten here several times and the food is always tasty. The service is good. It is a cash-only restaurant, so plan ahead.
