After trying to go to Mimi's Diner for a Saturday morning breakfast and finding it too busy with the only table available right by the door, we discovered this very unique breakfast/lunch spot and were pleasantly surprised. As another reviewer commented, it is very much like stepping back into time, from the bell on the door, to the old milkshake fountains, green tile counters with round 1950s stools, and the way in which you can watch the cook (family of Aunt Betty) make your breakfast on the grill. Service was very good, black coffee nice and strong, and they made sure to get my sunnyside up eggs right without being runny. Really liked the small town, friendly and homey feel to the place.

I would almost move back to small-town Michigan just so I could have Aunt Betty's on a weekly (okay, daily) basis. I found Aunt Betty's thanks to Yelp on a recent annual trip to Hell, MI when I had a rare hankering for a really good breakfast, and I could name about 1,000 ways in which this restaurant did not disappoint. First of all, I'm totally in love with the interior. It's old. It's run and staffed by fiery older women. The seafoam green paint on the walls is peeling. The tin tiles on the ceiling are rusting. You have to walk through the kitchen AND the stock room to get to the tiny bath room. I'm pretty sure the cook was using a paint scraper to flip eggs. I. Love. It. Here. This is what every greasy spoon in the world should aspire to be! I decide without hesitation that I am ordering the meat-lovers omelette, and once it arrives, the meat-lovers omelette does not disappoint. Friends and neighbors, without hesitation I can tell you that I ate the best omelette of my life at Aunt Betty's Restaurant. Crispy bacon, fresh ham, large chunks of sausage, an abundance of melty American cheese... I'm now thinking about driving four hours tomorrow morning just to have this thing in my life again! And let's not forget the service, which was wonderful. Our waitress was friendly, made jokes, took interest in my tattoos AND remembered me when I came back with a large group of friends the next weekend (I told her I'd be back)! And the price is excellent considering the amount of food, quality of ingredients, and service! If you're in the area, even within an hour, give this place a shot for breakfast. You absolutely won't regret it.

For those of you who like to travel back to a simpler time, especially when you didn't have to worry about counting calories in your diet; henceforth, Aunt Betty's Restaurant is an All-American timewarp awaiting your arrival. The decor in this place is right out of the 1950s, and you expect to see the cast from the 1970s TV show "Happy Days" walk-in at any moment. This place is pure Americana at its best. I've eaten breakfast and lunch at Aunt Betty's dozens of times since the early 1970s. They serve up classic American fare that takes your back to the good old days. The quality has always been consistent, and the food is delicious. Likewise, the portions are very generous, and you don't have to use your Smartphone to link into the Hubble Telescope to find them on the plate. That being said, the prices won't break your budget, and require you take out a second mortgage on your home to pay for your meal. So if you're a baby boomer looking to recapture part of your youth, or just looking to travel back in time and enjoy some great food, then Aunt Betty's is the place for you.

I love Aunt Betty's! The food is always good and consistent. Prices are also very good for the amount of food you get. Going to eat there on a Saturday morning is like going back in time. There are very few places like Aunt Betty's still in existence.

Throwback in time. Been there forever. Great food. Cheap. Worth the trip on a Saturday morning.

Heading into Aunt Betty's is like stepping back into time. First the restaurant is old, freshly painted tho. The ceiling is made from those tin squares and the counter, where is there is an old fountain when they still spun out shakes and malts (does not work now). The cook, when there is an an order, gets up from her table from where she is talking to some of the customers and heads over to an old metal plate/grill. They only serve breakfast and lunch here and are closed on Sundays. Hours are from 6 AM to 12:30 PM. And Aunt Betty, the one that owns the building and business is there everyday and she is 91! The service was very good, the time we went was a slow time 10am. Wife ordered a hamburger and I had the ham and cheese omelet. My omelet was okay, I thought was a bit plain and thin. However the hamburger and fries my wife had was very good. Would I go there again? Pancakes looked really good and after all it is home cooked food.
