Greek/Mediterranean pop! Oh yeah. Yep, this place is good! I was waiting for my order one day and the owner says to the guy next to me "Thank you for letting us feed your family today!" I just thought that was so sweet. This place is a lot of fun, so much going on. I always get the veggie gyro and fries (their fries are so perfectly salty... I hate when I have to add salt) but next time I am going for the garlic hummus and whatever else. All good here. When I order to go it never makes it out of the parking lot! Speaking of parking, a little tight cuz this place is busy!

As a lifelong Detroiter, I'm skeptical of Greek food away from home. But we took a chance on this place and it was really good. As a family, we shared a gyros, some hummus, a salad and the Greek nachos. All were solid. But the surprise of the night was the perch. We each tried a few pieces and it was as good as we have ever had Up North. It's a nice atmosphere and a nice break from the typical bar food in the area. We'll be back.

The workers are enthusiastic and for that I'll give them 4 stars, but I am sorry, these are the worst gyros I have ever ate and this is after 3 or 4 trips. Seriously, everyone raving about the gyros, haven't you seen the meat whacked off of the big rotating meat roll from real Greek food restaurants in the metro areas? That's real gyro, not some meat fried on a grill until one side is crusty and dry. The spinach pie is some sort of dough encrusted creation, not thin filo dough layered lightly like the real thing. I get it, people are all chill, being in a beautiful area on vacation and having family around eating a dinner out, but this place is not the real deal. Now I have had the perch fry on Friday and it was okay, but even then on a Friday the whole area has a fish fry, and most are better then Mims.

Our guy was all smiles and laughter until I used my credit card. He responded with "we prefer cash". Yeah, too bad. I just gave you a credit card so deal with it. Don't accept credit cards if you don't want to accept credit cards. The food is overall average/below average. The gyros are ok. The fries are ok. The calamari is NASTY. If you are just looking to fill your belly, this will do - but don't expect much. I'm guessing the good reviews are mostly because of the lack of choices in this part of Michigan.

Love the pickled beats element they added to the Greek salad, and the Neptune gyro is very tasty, too. The Mediterranean gyro was close to a comfort food and the fiery feta fries were making a unique statement (the fries was a simple seasoned steak fry with a mild spice that you do grow to enjoy) everything was filling to the satisfactory point.

Love this place! I am a Bay Viewer and everyone eats here. The food is amazing and I think it has become a staple of the Petoskey area.

Come here for the fried zucchini and the salads. The fried zucchini is made from scratch (not from sysco) and the best I've ever had. (I am a fried zucchini connoisseur.)
(5)
Ben C.
Great little place, the people are super nice, the food was delicious! The service was really fast. Did I say that people were really nice? We got fried zucchini and it was the real stuff, hand-breaded, not that frozen premade stuff. We also got fried calamari, and the fiery feta fries and two euros. And they were all delicious!

After touring Mackinac Island, we decided to drive a bit out of the way for some Greek - and we're sure glad we did! The food was fantastic and the staff were extra helpful! The falafel and gyros were tasty and fresh. We loved the hummus too. Everyone agreed that the meal was great and vegan/vegetarian friendly! We even went back for seconds. Unfortunately, Mim's is too far away from Chicago to come regularly. Maybe they could launch a satellite location.

Absolutely delicious food. My mom suggested we stop in for lunch and I was amazed by how good the food was. Delicious.

Really good. The food was great. My veggie gyro was excellent. Service was fast friendly and helpful. It was kind of chaotic because it is so small, we had to wait for a parking spot even though there're were several open tables inside and the only self serve drink station is right where everyone places their orders so it was very crowded in that area. We ate on the deck which was very nice and quiet. Kids meals were pretty pricey but I guess that is normal in a resort area. I would stop by again for sure.

Definitely the best greek food in the north. No reason to crave greektown, we have our own right here.
(5)
Mallory G.
We were looking for something other than a burger or pizza and found Mims. Fabulous! Be sure to get the spicy feta sauce to dip anything, including your finger, into. Yum. The meaty gyro was great as was the zesty falafel. This is our new go to place whenever we are nearby.
(5)
Elyse B.
I'm assuming that since this the only Greek place around northern MI everyone likes it but being from Detroit area it was very average at best. Salad was wilting because they are prepackaged, gyro was ok and fries were super salty. I doubt I will be back.
(2)
Nate C.
I stopped on my way south from Mackinac. Delicious food and good prices. I ate the chicken pesto gyro and had the Greek-pita chips which were amazing!
(5)
Tracy B.
Just had the Mediterranean plate, loved it! The service was great, super friendly and fast. Loved the variety, roasted garlic hummous was delish, as we're the grape leaves. The falafel was my fave. I got the chicken kabob as an add on and I'm stuffed! The only change I'd make if it was my place would be to use a middle eastern pita instead of Greek. I will definitely be back!
(5)
Dan C.
We come up to this area once a year, found Mims last year and came twice and looked forward to our return this year. Perch platter is great (Thurs/Fri only) and the Greek nachos are really something! We've also had gyros (great) and Hummus - order extra pita bred because they give you a lot! We like the garlic hummus and black olive hummus and need to try the roasted pepper yet. We'll definitely be back!
(5)
Heather B.
Brett had great suggestions, was attentive and kind. The food was amazing. The garlic hummus, dill and cucumber relish with pita chips; superb! The veggie gyro also fabulous. What an unexpected ethnic place with vegetarian options. I will be back!

Incredible place. Greek food is hard to find in NW Michigan. Mim's is the very best within 50 miles of Petoskey, if not more. We drive close to 40 miles just to go to Mim's! The young man who waited on us this past round was very passionate about the food, extraordinarily helpful and friendly. Excellent & educated staff. Beautiful & delicious food!!! Highly recommend the classic gyro & some of their seasoned fries with some fiery feta dip!!! Always awesome, Mim's does not disappoint. 30.00 and change got us each 2 Gyro's, fries, and a drink. We split a side of the fiery feta to go with our fries & I took home an order of the stuffed grape leaves.

Greek food was very tasty! Olive hummus full of flavor, perch was good although I prefer whitefish. Added a side of clams which my kids inhaled.

I have driven by this place many times and always wanted to stop but never had the chance until today. It was ladies night out and I took the girls here (4 of us all together). It is an order at the counter place. However, the friendly staff brings the food to your table. The atmosphere is bright and cozy and the music is all great sing along songs. As for the food, we each got sandwiches. The meaty gyros is what I ordered and I have to say it was really good. The club gyro and the Neptune gyro where also big hits at the table. We shared the fiery feta fries and there was plenty for all four of us. Great place!
(5)
Bridget F.
Cozy local place! We started with the hummus basket. The pita came out hot and almost melt in your mouth and the garlic hummus was delicious. I chose the falafel gyro. I expected a little more heat in the falafel but I still had no trouble polishing it off. My husband got the meaty gyro and fries and it was excellent. I haven't been to many counter order places where they come back to see how you enjoyed your meal. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would definitely go back!

Had to give it 5 stars because there's nothing they didn't do right. Great food, environment, and service. I got the meat gyro, wife got the zesty, both were great. Garlic hummus was spicy. Short wait, go here!

I loooooooooooooooooooooooooove this place!!!! Yes. That many o's! Friday is there specialty fried perch basket day. Do yourself a favor and hop on over and git you some. Served with fried pita chips, but not as crispy as chip, but not as soft as a regular pita. Can't really go into more detail as my head might explode. They have a great back patio if you like, it faces the woods. The inside is super cute and homey. I cant wait to go back next summer....not just for Perch Fridays! Go enjoy Mim's, you will looooooooooooooooooooove it! Oh! They are also in collaboration with the Side Door Saloon, that was a lovely little tidbit I discovered! Heart.

Amazing greek spot! We had the zesty falafel pita and veggie platter. Both were delicious and the falafel is baked before lightly fried giving it a crisp outside and warm interior. Highly recommend visiting Mim's and also really appreciated the great customer device from Brett.

We tried this place for lunch for the first time today. What a gem! We both had a veggie gyro with grilled chicken added and a small Greek salad. Fresh ingredients, delicious thick pitas, the hummus was nice and garlicky...just generally great food. This will go into our regular rotation of restaurants we eat at while we're up here. Highly recommend!

Love, love, love Mim's! They have great Greek food, and the owners and staff are always willing to help you with the delicious choices. Their veggie gyro is my favorite. The only area they could improve are their salads.

We love Mim's!!! It's about 15 mins from home so we stop in often. It is an adorable little Mediterranean place. Their classic gyro "The Meaty", is our favorite. They also do a Thursday & Friday perch special.... Yum & yum!! The staff is always super friendly. Prices good too.

And, when the staff is constantly thanking me for coming in, why wouldn't I want to eat here? Gold star for all around excellent service and food.

Counter order. Few tables. Garlic hummus. Came quick. Hendrix on the radio. Back to the hummus....warmed pitas a lil salt and pepper both fresh ground and yummy. Weakest gyros I have ever seen in the meat department. But tasty. Spicy feta fries were crispy. Feta sauce on the side was delicious. None of the pitas were grilled in butter so I guess a little more healthy. Wasnt a big fan of the chicken gyros, as were the children who ordered them. Get the garlic hummus and spread a little of the spicy feta dip on it. BOOM!
(3)
Heather B.
This place was awesome! Funky outside paint job on the house and GREAT food! The service was friendly and we were very pleased with the whole experience. I got the veggie pita with falafel and it was amazing. Hummus, falafel, grilled zucchini, tomatoes, baby spinach, onions, and tzatziki sauce on a wonderful warm pita. I tried the spicy feta dip with my fries....yum. Highly recommended! If I lived here, this would be a standard takeout spot for me. (Just a side note, this is a very casual place! You order your food at the counter and they bring it to you. Not what we expected but it was fine!)
(5)
Kim B.
Never been disappointed yet! I am not a vegetarian by no means. I love my meat but this place has them most delicious veggie gyro. Then one day I was talked into trying mine with the falafel. This has quickly become a go-to lunch for me!! My husband enjoys it too, but i have yet to get him to try the falafel. He likes the Chicken Shawarma. Can't wait to go back. I think I eat there every other week. Service is wonderful and the staff is always kind and courteous.

Mim's is owned by the same great people as The Side Door and was the first ethnic place to really stick. Probably the best gyros that you can get for a good 50-75 miles (my dad swears by Zorbas in Sault Ste Marie, which is 93 miles from P-town) and the rest of the Greek food is decent too.

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Fantastic Greek food and great prices. Fast service--order at the window. Gyros are incredible as is the Friday Perch fish fry.
