Food is always delicious. Service is pretty slow at times; it almost seems as if they're understaffed. Yet, The Antler Bar has a wonderful atmosphere.

Wonderful food and service! It can get a bit busy during the summer so you may have a bit of a wait. Menu offers a large selection of appetizers and entrees. Pretty extensive menu for a bar! Full bar service. Fun atmosphere. They have a music box, Pool table, and a couple televisions that typically show sports. The staff is friendly and helpful. They do see some bar merchandise too. Highly recommended - one of my favorite spots in Pentwater.

Had not been in the Antler for years due to a bad experience way back. Decided to give it another chance tonight, a Wednesday. Arrived 7pm, got seated in under 5 minutes, drinks ordered within another 5 minutes. Service was top notch! I had the Antler beef burrito which was very tasty. Wife had a Mexican veggie rice bowl and loved it. My Bell's Two Hearted ale was nice 'n cold. We're putting the Antler back on our list. We were fed and back on the street by 7:45.

A pretty good place to grab lunch before heading to the beach/on vacation and not wanting to cook for a crowd. We had a pretty decent spread from the menu and everyone agreed the food was pretty good. Nothing was super fancy or exceptionally delicious but it was all very filling, typical lunch food. The burrito was more of a plate of Mexican food but for the portion it was a good deal. Do not attempt eating if you can't use a knife and fork. The full grown adult man at our table struggled a bit, but that is his burden to bear and not the restraunts. The struggle is real. We had a table of 7 and got a table really quick right around lunchtime. Our server, Erica, was attentive, cheery and honest about her occasional clumsiness, which I appreciated. She gets 5/5. Our food came really quickly, which was supprising considering the size of our groupm It's kind of dark inside, but it's a bar so, you know, no supprise there. The bathroom has a fist shaped hole in the wall. In my opinion this helps the ambiance. 4 stars because it's good, tasty, cheap, but isn't super unique or exceptional. They don't take Discover, for your information.

Great food for a bar, but the place has been in business for years apparently so we expected it to be pretty good! I was here with several friends and got to sample a lot of food: The sweet potato tots were delicious if you are into sweet potato things, I am not, but they were crispy and hot and everyone who had them loved them. The seasoned fries were delicious, and my baked potato was big and tasty with plenty of sour cream on the side. The wraps, sandwiches, and burgers were all pretty excellent and came with a satisfying amount of fresh veggies. The burrito was a pile of Mexican awesomeness. I had the 4 piece fried chicken, but I'm pretty sure the "wing" and "leg" were actually just a full wing split into its two parts because they were comically small. It's fine though as everything tasted delicious, and I wouldn't have been able to eat four full pieces anyway. Our meals came out quickly, and the bar was fairly busy when we arrived. All the food came in baskets except the burrito which was on a plate. This was fine, but I ended up ripping the wax paper to bits when eating my fried chicken and baked potato so maybe ask for a plate if you have any knife work to do. Our server, Erica, was friendly, personable, attentive, and all-around excellent. A great place to stop for a casual meal and a beer!

I have been coming to this bar for about 10 years. Occasionally. .. our family cottage is right here in Pentwater. I have yet to ever write a negative review, tonight is the night. We have had issues in past years with being charged with more drinks than we ordered, tonight I thought they had simply miscalculated our bill, until I asked about it. According to the same bartender who left our food sitting in the" window" the night before for 15 minutes, claiming she "lost the ticket and didn't know who's food it was" charged me $19 for the tiniest Grey Goose Cosmo you've ever seen in your life! When I asked her about it, she tried to tell me it was because of how many "pours" it was. I asked her "how many ounces to a pour?" She had no idea. She also couldn't even pronounce some of the liquors on the shelf. I'm so done with this place. We come here every time we come to Pentwater, but never, never again. And we WILL tell our friends and family. Check your tab!!

Excellent food!!! I was here several times during my stay in the Ludington area, and each time had great food and great service! This will definitely go on my list of favorite local spots! Well done, Antler Bar!

4 Stars for being a U of M bar and 4 stars for having some pretty good grub. Everyone in there were super nice (we were Mich fans) and the bar itself, bathrooms, walls, etc. were nice and clean. I could easily see myself ponying up on a Saturday afternoon for some college ball, burgs, and some delicious wings.

This was one of the only bars in town that offered Guiness on tap. That alone makes this rustic charmer of a towny bar worth it. Add in that the nachos are pretty kick-ass and you have something to do while your lady shops. Boom.

Love this place. Usually the food is great, especially the Walnut/Michigan Cherry Salad and the Wing Dings. A very comfortable place to go, although the noise level is sometimes a little too much.

Gotta love an old school bar. The portabella mushroom fries are yummy as well as the homemade soup, Mexican, burgers, and spaghetti. That's all we've tried so far, but we assume the rest of the menu is similar. If you are lucky enough to sit by a townie ask about the history of Pentwater....it will keep you entertained for hours.

If your server is Marty, then you'll be fine. She's friendly, she's funny, and she's quick. Ancho-chipotle wings were more on the sweet side, and it would be nice if it were also spicy. Hot wings were on point and complements the ancho-chipotle wings.... Just make sure you eat the hot first, and build that tingling in your mouth before diving into the sweet smokiness. Can't go wrong with the price either--4 apps, 1 side, 3 pitchers of beer came out to a little over $50.

The Antler Bar is your basic small town pub, but it was our favorite place in Penwater. It seems that most of the local restaurants employ high school/college kids who are clearly just around for a summer job, so it was refreshing to have a server who knew the art of waiting tables. The service was fantastic. Our table tried the BLT, a couple of hamburgers and one of the rice bowls. The food was great, and arrived pretty quickly. Our server brought extra napkins and take-out containers and refilled drinks before we even asked. My kids noticed that employees were smiling and laughing a lot, and I think that says a lot about a business.

Better than average Michigan local bar. This bar is kinda old-school to say the least. It looks great inside, the downstairs is a dark wood, Taxidermy filled (who would have guessed) BAR with a pool table and jukebox. Upstairs is a bright new barroom with games and jukebox and a big patio overlooking the harbor and the village green! They certainly accommodated our large group of revelers for the whole Labor Day weekend! Friendly staff, friendly locals and good variety of beer and music! Maybe not a typical summer tourist family hangout, but a very cool place for good times and local color

The Antler Bar is an old favorite. My parents made their first visit ~30 years ago when they bought our "Up North" summer cabin, and my family still makes the half hour drive from the Rothbury area to Pentwater mainly to go to the Antler Bar. My parents tell a great story about a night at Antler in the 80s when a large group came in carrying a coffin. Four guys plopped the box on the bar, and the 50th birthday boy jumped out and started throwing back some more over the hill beers! Ambiance The Antler Bar use to be a smokey dive bar. Michigan's no smoking laws changed the former, and the bar was updated a few years ago. It's now a lot lighter and brighter inside, and doesn't look like the old-school dive it use to be (good overall, but a little sad too.) There's also a new upstairs that opens to a patio. They don't serve food up there yet, but hopefully they will soon. It's still a good old northern Michigan bar and restaurant. It's a perfect place to go with a small group for a casual dinner, sit at the bar and catch a Tigers game with a pint, or play some pool later in the night. Food The thing that differentiates Antler from a lot of other little northern Michigan bar / restaurants is that the food is really solid! They have always had a focus on "Mexican" food. There is a selection of burgers (angus beef, buffalo, and elk), sandwiches, and some other entrees too. On our last trip my dad and sister had beef tacos and enchiladas, which used the same ingredients in different shells but were pretty tasty. I had the Southwestern Chicken salad. The chicken is fresh and the spinach iceberg lettuce mixture make for a surprisingly fresh and tasty salad. We're not talking about any innovation here, just solid food in a fun atmosphere. Now that I live far away from the land of Oberon, I always enjoy the cold Bell's on tap more than most! To be honest, in a more culinary area like Boston this would only be 3 stars, but compared to the frozen and really bad food (trust me, I'm not picky) served in some other nearby establishments this is a really solid spot.

Basically there are other better places to eat in Pentwater. The waitstaff was friendly and quick though and they didn't seem to have a problem with large parties.

Great bar. The Portobello burger (with avocado, tomato, red onion, mayo on a homemade bun) was fantastic. Same with the portobello fries. Wife had the fri night all-you-can-eat perch dinner, and was also happy with her meal. We come back to Pentwater every year, and always hit the Antler.
