Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

When we first moved to the Oxford area several years ago, we tried this restaurant and it was HORRIBLE. With the fall of Ming's in Lake Orion (terrible now - was good long ago), we decided to give Golden Dragon another try since it has been so long. Though I believe it to be the same owner, the food (carry-out, mind you) was VERY VERY good! Night and day difference from what I recall from years ago. If you haven't tried them lately, try them again. We were very surprised.

PUKE!!!! Really bad Chinese food. Really BAD! I purchased $45 worth of food and we ended up throwing 75% of it away. I will never come to this place again.

Admittedly, the place is kind of a dump. But the food and service more than make up for it. Staff is super friendly, if a little too chatty at times (may be my fault for becoming a regular). Food is fresh and reliable, always delicious and the portions and price can't be beat. Sizzling rice soup, General Tao, and Almond Chicken are some of our family's favorites. Everything I've ever tried here is good, from the egg rolls to the entrees. Best Chinese food in Oakland County. Bottom line: don't let the dumpy decor turn you away from this great little spot!

It's hard for me not to be bias but I grew up in Oxford and ever since I have moved away I am been looking for a Chinese restaurant that compares. I have had no luck. I love the almond boneless chicken it has a yellow sauce (I wish knew the correct name) instead that salty brown sauce you find at other places. Also when you order chicken, beef or shrimp you get a actually normal size pieces of these meats you would expect. I have try most things on the menu and have them like them all. I will admit thou I have not tried any of the thai dishes but when I go there I am not look for Thai specific food. I highly recommend this restaurant, the owner and waiter are incredibly kind. Even known they are pretty busy all the time with carry out and very busy on the weekend for eating in they keep the place running smoothly. I guess I'll end by saying everyone I have ever brought here has asked to come back with me or bring back take out when I visit Oxford.

I love Golden Dragon. It is an Oxford classic. I have been eating out here ever since I was a little kid 15 years ago. The owner (who runs the register) is a little bit rude, but I've gotten used to it. The server though works very hard and has been doing so forever. My family and I have this weird tradition of going to eat here on Christmas Eve (because everywhere else is closed) and he treats us like a family friend. The food is good, too. I love the friend dumplings and their eggrolls are great. I usually end up getting General Tso's chicken along with sweet & sour chicken. Relatively cheap pricing as well.

I went there on a whim because I don't know any good chinese restaurants in my area, because it was close and I was STARVING! The place only had one customer in it, which made me a bit leary. The waiter was a character and he was super friendly. They had the typical Chinese horoscope placemats, which I love and the decor was pretty simple. I got the Almond Chicken (typical fave) and the bf got Thai Curry Chicken..It came with soup, egg roll, and a fortune cookie. The food was actually good and more people started to walk in as I was eating. The price was a little on the high side, given that I usually get the $6.00 carry-out anywhere else I go. I would for sure go back. I'm having my leftovers for dinner tonight..yum, yum!

Awesome place to go if you're looking for authentic Chinese. Large portions and fair prices.

Horrible. Got there an hour before close and our server acted as if we were in there an hour after. After each order we got a very "fine. Next!" As he moved on to the next person. I've had the food a few years ago and it was apparently forgettable, so don't support a real life soup Nazi and go to Alex's or Mings in lake Orion for some great Chinese food.

My husband and I wanted to give this place a shot since we recently moved here from Chicago and are trying out all the new places to eat. We decided to get takeout and I ordered the almond chicken platter and him the general tso. First, when you go in this restaurant, coming in the back door by the parking lot, it was so filthy and disgusting that I truly do not know how they stay in business. The prices were higher then their online menus but what can you do. We arrived home and started eating, I literally could taste cigarette smoke on my extremely chewy chicken. My husbands was no better. I couldn't even eat it and we ended up throwing it all away and ordering pizza! Such a shame, Oxford is in need of a decent, CLEAN Chinese food place. This is most certainly not it.

My husband and I have tried other Chinese restaurants, and NONE CAN COMPARE! To the Golden Dragon in Oxford, MI , needless to say, we have stayed loyal for the past 10 years, and eat here 3-times a month! We do carry out, and it's always ready, on time, and so dang good!!!! *****
