Simply put, the best pies ever. Coconut Cream pie, Michigan 4 berry (summer only of course), and they have dairy free pies which is awesome since my daughter has a milk allergy... Pies are a little pricey but totally worth it.

I love Achatz pie. It was served at my wedding and is never disappointing...until they weren't open on Pi Day. It's a national pie holiday. I drove twenty minutes to get pie and it was closed. On Pi day!!!!! What the hell? You missed the boat on marketing and having a big sale day. P.s. why would you be closed on a Saturday anyway?

This place gets worse every time I go in. Today, there were only a handful of pie slices available, and there were no pies from which to cut slices. The girl behind the counter just said, "Yeah, we don't have much pie today." How can there not be pie at a pie shop? Another time I asked a worker to put some strawberries (which they have) on a cheese cake slice. She told me, "We usually don't do that." So I left without buying anything. I did that again today and I simply decided I don't need to go back. The pie isn't much better than the local Kroger can make.

Achatz is more than just a pie shop, they have a large variety of soups, quiches & pot pies. My elderly parents don't cook anymore and I know that when they get meals from Achatz, that it is good healthy food. The pies are incredible, so many different kinds to choose from. Hillary & Brittnee go above and beyond with their customer service. It is truly a great place to have in your home town.

Before traveling to Leonard for a weekend I researched local pie shops and discovered Achatz. I had intended to order online for pickup but with them being closed Saturday and my schedule not certain for Sunday I decided against it. Come Sunday I was on the fence but at the last minute got a recommendation from a local and decided to go. Best decision ever. The service is fantastic and as I would soon discover, the pies superb. I left with two full Michigan 4-Berry pies, a slice of Strawberry Rhubarb and a freshly made cup of pour-over coffee. I prefer berry pies to cherry or apple or peach, and am pretty fussy about the taste and texture. Each was a little different, one an FJS (fruit juice sweetened), the other no sugar added. Both were amazing, perfect flavor and consistency. I found the prices quite reasonable, and the quality and service exceptional. The slice and coffee lasted less than an hour into my six-hour drive home, then a couple of hours later I broke into one of the still warm 4-Berrys. Left out or refrigerated the pies will last 4-5 days, they are so good there is no need beyond that. Highly recommended!

When I lived in Oxford I stopped here often. They have some delicious apple and berry pies. The banana cream pie (made to order) is to die for. All the pies were fresh and delicious. The only problem I had with this place was the hours. They aren't open on Saturdays or after sunset during the summer. During the week it was tough to get there before 7 PM.

Best pies by far! Beats Grand Traverse pies hands down. Glad they have their pies at Hollywood if you can't make it to their store.
