Not my fave OG location - that now goes to Rochester Hills - but we went here last night for the 2 for $25. We also had copious amounts of gift cards and the $5 off coupon that was went out via email. Normally the service is not great here but yesterday we had a great waiter, he always made sure our drinks were refilled. The only tiny complaint I had was that there were still a lot of dishes (empty) on the table as we were eating, those could have been bussed a bit quicker. Be aware that this OG doesn't have call-ahead service ... not sure why, as Rochester Hills does. We only had about 20-25 minute wait, possibly because it was the day before Easter. I got the chicken marsala which is one of my favorites, my guests got the Tuscan garlic chicken and the pork ribs with ravioli, both of which were also good. OG is a little overpriced but the 2 for $25 is a good deal, you get 2 entrees and then either an appetizer or dessert to share - we got the tiramisu which was delish. Overall I'd give this OG 3/5 stars but yesterday's warranted 4/5.

I would rate it less if it was possible. I had been to this place three times in the past 10 months, had the worst experience on my last visit. It was past 10 pm by the time we got there, but it should not be a reason for getting, probably, the worst service. There was a vegetarian in our group of four who ordered a minestrone soup and he was served zuppa Toscana (has sausage) instead, when our waiter was told he got the wrong soup, he started emphasizing that we in fact ordered a zuppa! Never got us more bread on the unlimited lettuce and bread order, when we asked for more bread, he came back saying there's no more bread in the kitchen! Got the wine we ordered when we were almost done with our meal! The waiter was simply super arrogant and gave me a stiff shake hand when I tried to just ask him if he was having a long day when we were getting out. I wouldn't dare to go back.

Loved this place a while back but now it feels like everything has changed. My kids hate that they took fries off the menu. Also the slower service is not the usual Olive Garden we've been going to.

Oh my gosh!!! We had dinner at this Novi, MI Olive Garden just recently. We had the best service, food and atmosphere for a "chain restaurant". This Olive Garden gives one the feeling that it is NOT a chain restaurant at all. It is a really great authentic feeling/tasting Italian restaurant. I had some chicken with Asiago cheese and veggies and the pasta "f"(spelling?) soup..it's the BEST! I love the breadsticks and we always ask for them with "butter". Now that can be a problem at times because for some reason they don't want to give you butter for your breadsticks! I kept asking and asking and finally by the time I got butter, my food was there and I was finished eating breadsticks! LOL...but that's the only thing that bothered me at all! I do recommend this Olive garden due to the quickness of being seated and the service, food and general atmosphere! One thing is for sure,I'll say it again.... it really doesn't feel like a "chain" restaurant! The price is about average but possibly a tiny bit high for the amount of food you get for your money. But we enjoyed ourselves and we will be going back again.

I think that this place has come a long way in the past 5 years. They have been that long since I have eaten here and I was surprised by the quality and quantity of food being that it is a chain restaurant. The fettucini alfredo is something that is a must, lasagna, ravioli, tiramisu and of course the salad and soup. They actually make a lot of her food fresh in the kitchen instead of frozen.

This is your classic chain of Italian restaurants. They have a private parking lot which is awesome. The wait staff is always pleasant and ready to add cheese to your food. The food... Is just okay. It's nothing special and I honestly would rather go to an mom and pop Italian place because they have the most authentic Italian food. This is very Americanized. The ambiance is very comfortable and the price is sometimes a little high for what you get. I ordered the ziti for lunch and the portion was tiny but the price was still a little high for what I got. However I love the unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks.

Need a total update, decor look old and tired, waiters are disinterested in customers, and I've had LOADS better fr the price

Great customer service! We brought a large party in and they were very accommodating. Our server, Nina, and the manager on duty, Jessica, went out of their way to make sure everyone was able to order yummy food - even the picky eaters (me). :) I have dietary limitations and Jessica pulled out a binder to review ingredients with me when I asked.

We had a party of 18 and we tried to call ahead but were told they had accepted all reservations for the night. Out servers were great at first however they were sat another large party and then we waited quite a bit. At the end of our meal the check situation was a nightmare. Why do these restaurants insist on doing one big check when colecolesoups and families want to pay separately but dine together

Bread sticks and salad cheep lunch.Great service but long wait I guess that's what you get for good food.

After my experience on 6/7/15, I want to raise my rating to 4*. The main reason is Lori S. She did a perfect job of serving us ---a table of ten. All of the orders were correctly served, she kept up on beverage refills and was very pleasant, and got all of the bills correct.. Olive Garden should be proud to have servers like her. All ten of us loved the food too. The salad is exceptional. I then had shrimp alfredo and it was sensational. My wife had soup and salad and loved it. The Chianti wine was good.

the only reason I am giving this place any stars is because our server Clarence was top notch. Friendly, funny and attentive. Other than that, the food is just plain awful. My husband likes the all you can eat soup, salad and breadsticks. I should have stopped there. But, I wanted dinner and thought how bad could it be. I will never understand how an Italian place can screw up spaghetti and meat sauce. This place can. Not bad if you are getting the all you can eat soup, salad and bread sticks, but skip ordering anything else. You will be disappointed.

Olive Garden has such a bad rap from Italianer-than-thou types who don't have a drop of Italian blood, I thought I'd add a little perspective. Yes, of course, Olive Garden food is not the kind of food you would find on most Italian family dinner tables. It's just Italian-ish. But if you're not expecting your Nonna's cooking, what the heck, go ahead and eat at Olive Garden. It's really not that bad, and you can stuff your face like a paesano. I used to joke that if Amanda Knox got convicted, she'd end up eating Italian prison food for the rest of her life, which is like Olive Garden, right? In fact, if Olive Garden changed their name to "Italian Prison Food," I bet they'd be even more popular.

My husband and I went for the special dinner for 2 and it was very good, the food was served hot, and it had a very Italian taste. The only compliant was my husband got dirty silverware and the food came to fast no time to enjoy the salad.

This is a pretty decent Olive Garden location. One thing that is a little different from other location's is that their chairs are really comfortable. Certainly no big deal but a nice touch. I had their steak gorgonzola alfredo which was pretty decent. I asked for medium but the steak was slightly overcooked and a little dry. We went for dessert this time and got the Chocolate Mousse Cake. It's one of the better dessert items I've had at Olive Garden's, good chocolate flavor without being too rich. Their peach ice tea is just incredibly good! I didn't know until this visit that they had it, I am willing to come back just for that. Service was good, we got refills ahead of us running out and we never had to wait a long time for the waitress to check on us.

The food was just fine but our server Dannie was wonderful! She was so friendly and attentive and made the dining experience very enjoyable! Olive Garden should be proud to have her on their team. Also the breadsticks were very good :)

My husband and I ordered carry-out from this location on a Saturday afternoon. Pickup time was set for 4:30PM and we arrived a few minutes past that and our food was not ready. The service was superb; they were very friendly and apologized because they were running a bit behind. They even threw in extra breadsticks which was awesome. I ordered the giant rigatoni with asiago garlic alfredo and my husband got the chicken alfredo. The food was hot and looked amazing. The problems occurred when we started eating. The pastas were cooked well, but there was not enough sauce to coat all of the pasta. This did not annoy me too much since the sauce tasted SO BLAND. There was like no spice at all except a very faint hint of garlic from the 3 little garlic chips in my entire dish-REALLY??!!? Use some salt and pepper for pete's sake. I tried my husband's chicken alfredo and it tasted like pasta covered in cream; plain cream. Needleless to say; neither of us finished our entrees. I made a salad for us and we ate that for dinner with the breadsticks. EPIC FAIL!!!!

Amazing service! Went to this location with my boyfriend- we were visiting from Canada and love Olive Garden! We had an amazing waiter who was super great at his job! He was very focused and customer oriented, while working in the crazy fast paced environment! I've never been so satisfied with customer service before in my life. He really made the entire stay from beginning to end amazing, I would drive to that location from Canada for the amazing service I received at this location! Delicious!

Favorite restaurant to go to mainly because I'm obsessed with their breadsticks and salad, which is unlimited. I always get the garlic Rosemary chicken which always has perfectly cooked garlic cloves. Servers are always friendly and fast!

Went here for lunch on a Thursday. Great Service. Our waitress was named Rea, she was the best waitress we ever have had here. She made sure our drinks were full and we had plenty of breadsticks If you go here, try to get Rea, with her no rush to leave attitude, she is very inviting to the restaurant, they need more people like her. I hope Olive Garden knows they have a great server on their hands.

Got there today at 3:45 to have lunch. I've never seen the restaurant so empty and we were told there was going to be about a ten minute wait. We waited until 4pm and still were not seated. I can only think this was because their lunch specials ended at 4 or if there was a shift change. Both of which are completely ridiculous to not seat us. Thankfully this area has numerous restaurant options. I'm really disappointed by this location.

Everyone is friendly and the food is amazing! I just came to say that our waitress Melissa is hands down the best waitress I have ever had! I came with my family of like like 10 and she was so patient with us even my younger siblings who made a little mess. She is very friendly and always made sure we were doing okay without annoying us!

This is my go-to Olive Garden location. It's located across the highway from Twelve Oaks mall, and now that The Cheesecake Factory is open over there the wait seems to have diminished at Olive Garden. The food has always been good as well as the service.

FANTASTIC SERVICE. I came here for dinner with a friend and I ordered the spaghetti while my friend ordered alfredo pizza. Both our foods arrived, however they misheard my friend and ordered us an alfredo noodles instead of the pizza. Our server apologized and the manager came to our table and offered to take my food back so that it would arrive in time with my friend's pizza. I told her it was fine. When we got our bill, it turned out the alfredo pizza was on the house.

Really? A review for Olive Garden? Who does that? oH... I guess I do. It's Olive Garden. It's fine. What do you want from me? If you get a good and happy server, it's all good. If you get a server who's pms-ing, that's your tough cookies. Deal with it. It's Olive Garden!!! Take it or leave it.

I haven't been to an Olive Garden in a few years, not because I do not like it just because no one wanted to meet me at an Olive Garden!!! A few of my friends and I are going out of town on a vacation in a few weeks and we wanted to have a dinner to talk about our upcoming trip. So, we decided on the Olive Garden in Novi. Boy, whoever were the city planners for this area really dropped the ball. Traffic was horrendous, now remember there are plenty of shopping centers in this particular area and school is beginning next week for quite a few students, so I am sure that they are out school shopping! But, to get back to the Olive Garden - I have missed you and didn't even know it. Yeah, Kendra from Hef's crew loves any Olive Garden and thinks that this is ultimate Italian food fare. Well, reality is the Olive Garden is quite good. I think this is the first time that I thought the food was excellent. My eyes were opened! I don't know if it is because the area is nicer than the other Olive Gardens I have frequented and so the expectations are higher or what. But, mmmmmmmmmmmm--OG I am a new fan! My waitress was Sarah and she was quite nice and friendly. I believe that the host his name was Vinnie - he was excellent. He told me at the get go it will be a few minutes. Boy did he lie! It was a few seconds!!!! Which is always good. He was very very nice and very professional. Thank you Olive Garden for giving me a new Italian restaurant to go to! And, believe me I will be back with my cell phone so I can post some pictures! Uh oh - just talked to one of my friends that I met last night at Olive Garden -- she had the Gorgonzola beef and all night was sick with potential food poisoning. Ugh. So, I guess stay away from that dish! But, I had one of the chicken dinners and OMG it was delicious.

Five stars for flavor, two stars because they forgot my soup on a to go order 3 times! The manager apologized promised to send a gift card... But never did. Probably because I'm young and they judged me to be a bad tipper... Jokes on them heh heh. Went back 6 months later and had a jerk giving me my take out who even had the nerve to comment that I didn't shave. When I told him I'm in med school and have very little time that shut him up real nice. Will never go back based on staff experiences, but like I said food is delicious. Note to staff: I counted 12 times I would've dined there and my bill is usually between 75-125$...that's 900$ you lost

Gross. Poor food quality and poor service. Our dinner came out before out appitizer and they were confused when we told them we didn't get our appitizer yet. I'm almost positive they gave us thr same plates back when we got our food for the second time. Skip this place!

My review is based on my recent carry-out experiences. I have always had prompt, friendly service (even when they are busy) and I love how they package my items. Dasha was especially helpful and pleasant to deal with when I picked up my dinner on Monday night (11/17). She made the experience seemless and for the cost its an amazing value!

I haven't been to an Olive Garden in a very very long time. I didn't really care much for it before, and I kinda still don't. My friends like the salads and breadsticks which I must admit were very delish. I ordered a pasta ravioli stuffed with cheese in a white wine sauce with shrimp. I didn't really enjoy it much, the ravioli was not stuffed much and they were stuck together to where the sauce really didn't marinate all of them. My entree came with soup or salad, and it got the minestrone soup which was the only thing I liked plus the breadsticks. The host and our waitress were very nice and friendly. Place was clean as well.

I have been to this Olive Garden countless times, but today was the best service and lunch I have ever had. Our server was Rae, she was spectacular! Our drinks and bread basket were always full, and she was extremely nice and attentive! When we left she gave us to-go drinks without us even asking plus a bag of hot fresh bread to take home! I ordered the shrimp mezzaluna, which was recommended by Rae, and it was the best dish I have ever had there. My new favorite for sure! Overall a great experience. I love this Olive Garden!

Food was great, service was super!! They sat us in the back corner table and there were a lot of annoying kids at 8pm on a Thursday, that would be my only complaint. Other then that it was Delicious. And the wine was amazing!

Great Service!!! Matt is an all-star. He was witty and very attentive. The food was hot and seasoned well. The only down side as I see it is that corporate needs to slow down on changing its menus. We actually overheard several other tables in our section have the same remarks. We will be back.

Average food at best, but what else do you expect from a chain restaurant... There was a man in a chef jacket hovering around what seemed to be his family seated next to us. It appeared as if he was bringing them free alcoholic drinks and appetizers at no charge a night...

I've been here many many times with My family, but this time it was "date night" with My husband and it was about 3-weeks ago, We ordered the two for $25 deal we got two dinners, with the salad and breadsticks, and our choice of two entrees or a dessert, we ordered and chose to split a dessert, anyway we got our breadsticks and the waitress brought us a basket of breadsticks with 3 breadsticks in it, um there were two of us... That's pretty lame... So we just split the third one, and enjoyed our salad, I had ordered a glass of ice-water and it had salad floating around in it... I told the waitress and she was like "Oh I am SO sorry!" And I was like "That's ok" And she went to correct the situation and came back with another water with lettuce in it as well... I was NOT happy.... And she said "I kept poring the water and poring the water three different times, and it all must have lettuce in it, because it's not coming out, so here" And she just set My glass down on the table and took off!!! I was like are you effing kidding Me?! WOW what a complete a hole!!!!! So the proper thing to do is offer the customer a different drink or something to make up for that! You would think anyway, I guess not, because she was a terrible terrible waitress!!! Then our food came out and I had ordered Spaghetti with meatsauce and linguini noodles instead of regular spaghetti noodles, and My husband ordered the spaghetti with the regular spaghetti noodles, well apparently that was TO much for the waitress to process, because we both got spaghetti with linguini noodles, which My husband is not very fond of, so when he got his dinner he noticed when he took a bite that the noodles were thicker, and he realized it wasn't what he ordered and told the waitress and she gave a huff, so he just said "Forget about it" because he didn't want her head to explode, trying to figure out how to figure out his correct order, and come 25 minutes later, so he just ate what he was given. Then when it was time for dessert, it turned out that what we had ordered for dessert they were all out of... So we just got something else, which whatever, that was fine, but wow what a terrible experience, I've had another terrible experience at this same location when My hubby and I went out together, and it's always you can get as much salad and bread-sticks you want, and we ate our first bowl of salad, and asked for another, and our waitress we had, said "No your not getting another one until you finish what's in this bowl first!" My husband and I just looked at eachother like in disbelief, like are you serious?! And she was! Such a nice wait-staff at the Novi Olive Garden! So if you want consistent terrible service, bad attitudes, mediocre food, and bacterial floaties in your drinks, hey enjoy!

Olive Garden is a chain, so a messed up order means that someone isn't manning the microwave/grill correctly. Last week I went to the Novi OG with my grandma, who is a notoriously picky eater. We both got the eggplant, our go to menu item. She also ordered the chicken gnocchi soup instead of the salad (she's not up with the fact that EVERYONE orders the salad with their breadsticks), and at first she thought it was too salty, but then she started raving about it. Salad and breadsticks are the main gig here. Fill up on those, then it won't matter what you order. The only annoying thing about my last visit to the OG was our seats. We were in a corner next to a server stand, and these 2 young servers (highschool kids) stood there the whole time, next to our booth, talking about hot chicks. At first it was funny, but after hearing 30 minutes of "yeah, she'd get on it," I was annoyed. They either didn't catch on to my mean, passive-aggressive side stare or they just didn't care, but breadsticks and hot chick talk -- in front of your grandma -- are not a great combination. I'll go back with my grandma because I don't have a choice (she makes the decisions when we go to dinner), but I'd request a seat away from the server stand...

Worst service ever. We sat in a tiny section... about five tables in a area that was sectioned off. Our waitress was by far the loudest person there. Slamming things down, snatching things off the table right in front of you, practically yelling at guests. I got the wrong order after waiting for forever for my food. Would not had been so bad had she not made a comment about my choice while I watched her write the order down (later I saw that she punched it into the computer wrong). My boyfriend finished his meal by the time my correct meal came. All this I could have handled... had the waitress not complained to us about the lousy tip another table had left her. Unacceptable! We ended up skipping desert (and even debated getting our food boxed to go before we even finished our salad and breadsticks - which we never got refilled on). I had been excited to visit because it had been awhile. I was so upset when we left. It was awful. Oh and our section voted when the waitress was off in the kitchen (..or where ever). She was most definitely on like meth or coke or something. No one acts that all over the place and unfocused while completely sober.

I have good experiences whenever I go. They have a good selection of food, and the unlimited salad and breadsticks is always a nice touch. I would go a lot more often if it was a little bit more affordable and they had a healthier selection with low fat, high protein options. Most items aren't too healthy.

This isn't the absolute best, most amazing authentic Italian ever, but it's pretty damn close. The bread sticks make up for any lack in the rest of the lineup here. Really good, being Italian I'm always happy eating Italian, but this place can make people who aren't fans of authentic Italian happy too.

I'm stuck on this place. I've been eating here for over a decade now, and I've never really been disappointed. The service is consistently good and I haven't had to wait super-long for...years. Even my last time, with the parking lot rather full, it was only 15 minutes for six people in non-smoking. I know it isn't "authentic" Italian, and I don't care! =D The food is great and I could eat the soup until I die from it. However, I do not advise other diners attempt to soup themselves to death. ;) The wine is a pleasant surprise. It's excellent that they offer $0.25 samples...I love that and I wonder how much other places offer the same. Anyway, their white Principato was really pleasantly surprising. I was pretty stuck on avoiding the house wine, but after sampling a few others, I really couldn't resist.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
