Chicken Makhanwala is delicious! Hakka noodles are delightful, not greasy and overcooked like most I've tried. Chicken Tikka is amazing, highly recommend. We usually get it as an appetizer for the table to split. The service is great. The place is a tad chilly in the winter because of the way the space is set-up, just wear an extra sweater, it's worth it. It is my new favorite, I will be frequenting often.

Chicken xacuti lunch is yummy! Got it medium, next time, I may try it a little hotter. Delicious! If you get Brent as your server, he's enthusiastic and funny. Definitely ask for suggestions and he will point you in the right direction!

I really enjoyed this place. Service was great and helpful. Food was really good! I never really had Indian food or anything similar to it so I don't have anything to compare it to. Though, this is about taste, and everything I tasted was great. My husband ordered a fish curry dish. I ordered the tandoori chicken (yum!). My friend ordered a lamb curry dish. All of us were very satisfied with our meals and with each others. Also ordered the sannas and samosas. Those were good as well. We will definitely be coming back.

Terrible service and less them mediocre food/ ambience!! Wait staff is rude and somehow interested in sitting around chatting instead of tending to customers. Also they asked us if we were ready of boxes and if we were done at least 7/8 times between the meal... Starting almost as soon as the meal was served! When I looked around the whole restaurant was empty which means they rushed everyone else who was eating there out as well. It was Friday night 9:30 and place was empty and before we could ask they brought the check with18% tip added on!! Did not care to ask for dessert, drink refill... Nothing!!! When we asked for the owner or manager he was not available and the waiter went on to tell us that it was normal for all restaurants to add a tip irrespective of the size of the party. We were four!! Terribly rude people and really the food is nothing to write home about. Extremely expensive place and really cheap ambiance and staff! Think again before you decide to waste your time and money here.

This one of my favorite places to eat. The food is extremely favorable. Be ready for a little spice. It is like a Polynesian and Indian blend, it's awesome. Get a Bryani if they have any. I usually call in and bring it home to gorge and watch movies.

Ate here about a year ago. I grew up in goa ( West Coast of India) and was eagerly looking for back home food and found it here. Indai has many different cuisines and Goa (Goan) cuisine is the best for the western palate ( ? Am I biased) Can't wait to go back on my next visit to Detroit. Sign inside says SUSEGAD; loosely translated as Relax/ Don't worry be happy. Vey nice to be back in Goa for a few hours.

Food was very tasty and healthier (less oil) than most restaurants. Its little more expensive. But you get what you pay for.

Every time I come here, I experience flavors I've never tasted before! IndoFusion has a very unique blend and the cuisine allows you to explore food differently. I highly recommend these dishes: Sesame Gobi, which is fried cauliflower in a sweet honey sesame chili sauce. The cauliflower when fried has a great crunch. The sauce is covered evenly and isn't too thick. Get either the Lamb or Chicken Potato Chop, which is your meat of choice flavored with coriander, pepper, a few spices in a mashed potato shell and is mildly spicy. A vegetarian dish, Saagwalla Paneer - spinach and cottege cheese - is also one of my favorites, detailed as cubes of cottege cheese cooked in fresh puréed spinach, with medium herbs and spices. It's great paired with naan - regular or garlic, which is oven-baked flatbread. Delicious! Ask to be served by Veneta! She is attentive and brings great energy to your table! Enjoy and of course, susegad... "relax"! ;)

Stopped in because I had previously gone here with my family and initial impression was that the place had a somewhat unique flavor. Upon our entrance we were greeted by a waiter and duly asked for our drink choices, etc. We ordered the chili chicken and the honey gobi. Honey Gobi was a bit too sweet for my palate, but a fine dish overall. The chili chicken however, was asked to be made super spicy to indulge my tingly tastebuds, but it came out quite bland. Judging the dish sans spice, however, is also tough to do. The chicken was first flash fried and then cloaked in some kind of yogurty, overly sweet sauce. This left the chicken a bit stringy and also the sauce just left me wanting something more. I didn't expect such a surge of yogurt in this dish, it actually looked more appealing in the menu picture, and it didn't do much for me. This is essentially popularized Indian food...not traditional flair. Not quite authentic Indian or Goan food, which I feel justified to claim considering that I'm from that region. It's really too bad, since when I had come here a couple years ago, I thought it would be a pretty decent place to come back to. We also had a check in offer, which the chef did not agree to give us. So there's that. But despite all that, the food is sub par and not really worth the price.

Absolutely love the Portuguese Goan food here! My husband and I come here and we always get 2 entrees to share. Every time we get the Goenchi Chili Fry (Chicken 65) and its to die for. Delicious! We have also tried Sorpotel and the Vindalho de Carne De Porco. Very good and VERY spicy. We get it medium and its almost too spicy for us and we like spicy so be cautious. I think next time we will get it one step down from the medium hot level.

Our favorite Indian restaurant. Indofusion consistently impresses us with fresh, high quality ingredients and absolutely delicious flavors. We always receive friendly, prompt service in a bright, clean, and casual atmosphere. Try the Green Goan Chicken. Unique an interesting flavors.

Great food, very fresh ingredients, service was good at first until the waitress disappeared for the second half of the meal. 2 gripes: adding a split charge just because the 2nd person is not ordering a meal is not cool... also the rice portions with meals are way too small! I ordered a second portion and was still very small for the price...

This place has very good food. Unfortunately, the decor is a little strange. It looks more like a Hawaiian burger joint than an Indian restaurant. This isn't the kind of place to take a date. But if you're looking for some really good Indian food, it's one ot the best in Detroit. One tip: Order off of the Goan menu. This place has dishes from all over India, but as a Goan restaurant they do Goan food the best. There's no point in coming to this place for tikka masala. You can get tikka masala anywhere. Be adventurous and try something new. . Also, the samoas and bread are delicious.

Let me begin by saying that the beautiful Polish waitress with the dreadlocks won my heart with her service, and it almost makes me want to move to Michigan! I had the green Goan curry with Paneer and it was magnificent. The seasonings were perfect, the service was prompt, and the naan was fantastic. Check this place out, it's a rare gem in the state of Michigan.

Update: I am told they now serve Feni (Alcohol made out of the cashew nut). This place is freaking amazing! One of the most difficult Indian foods to make is Goan food, and Indo Fusion has perfected it! Having spent several summers in Goa, eating a lot of their local cuisine, I didn't have high hopes, when I tried this place this first time. I expected the food to have been watered down to suit the American palate, and I expected it to not be authentic at all! Boy, am I glad they proved me wrong. The Goan menu is fabulous! I haven't eaten anything there except the Goan specialties and I don't plan to change that. The pork Vindaloo and the pork Sorpotel are some of the best I've ever eaten. And the Goa Sausage is made at the restaurant and very close to the mark. Their Goan curry is delicious too. I Love this place and I hope it thrives. If you're there, try the tender coconut water. I haven't tried their Xacuti yet, but that's next on my list. I've been here 5 or 6 times now, and the food is consistently good. We even carry their food to Chicago for our cousins! I go back every chance I get! For dessert, try the Bibinca, I'm not entirely sure what it's made of but there is coconut, and sugar in it and its pretty authentic. The chef/ owner told me he makes it himself.

Any time there is a new Indian restaurant in the area, my family and I are up to trying it. So, to celebrate some family birthdays, 7 of us visited Indo Fusion. Very clean and well lit, Indo Fusion is a beach-themed restaurant that serves Goan cuisine - a blend of Portuguese and Indian fare. We were promptly seated and spent quite a bit of time going through the menu to decide what we wanted. Our party had several vegetarians, so we wanted to pick something for everybody. For starters, there are only a few vegetarian options, which is fine. At least make them diverse. The majority of them are paneer dishes that are all the same. Paneer, the same vegetable, and a different sauce. I realize they have a dal fry and channa masala...but what about some non-North Indian food for vegetarians? If this is a Goan restaurant, please provide more Goan vegetarian dishes so your diners with dietary restrictions don't feel left out. And to be honest? The Paneer Jalfrezi and Sagwalla Paneer weren't even worth mentioning. Although the portions were generous and we ate our food, it was not worth the travel time it takes to get to Indo Fusion from our house. It wasn't better or different from other restaurants. My Dad, brother, and uncle had the whole red snapper, a chorizo dish, and some kebabs. The presentation of their food was magnificent, so they were extremely excited. From what they said, the food missed the mark and wasn't what they were expecting. Lacking in salt, my Dad had to reach for the salt shaker every time he filled his plate (much to the frustration of my brother, Mom, and I). They ate their food but mentioned that it wasn't worth coming back for once we left. The desserts in the case looked a little off, so we didn't bother eating any of them. Instead, we went to the Coldstone next door. The remarkable things I can mention are the Kashmiri Pink Tea and the Hakka Noodles which were surprisingly flavorful. All in all, Indo Fusion misses the mark. The waitresses were standing there with nothing to do when we came in - they should at least appear to be busy. Although we had lots of help and suggestions, the food wasn't enough for us to come back. They need to do some more thinking about the direction of the restaurant to offer something truly unique. The idea of this restaurant is solid - they just need to deliver better.

As long as you can get past the cafeteria-esque atmosphere, it's worth it for the food! I've only been for lunch, but this is a great lunch option if you're in the area and don't mind going back to work in a food coma. They offer great lunch combos that come with an entree, small salad (which is so yum!) and rice for around $6 - $7. You have to spring an extra $2 for naan, but it's also worth it if you ask me. Two of us shared the saagwalla paneer, paneer jalferezi and chicken makhanwa with a side of naan, and had enough for 1 left over, but it was all delicious! The food was really delicious, the service was fine, and the atmosphere is okay. Maybe not the best spot to take a date, but certainly a good place to try if you're in the mood for some Indian food! Oh and they do have their liquor license now. Beer, wine and liquor are available.

It is cool to see an authentic ethnic place in the mix, while it is surrounded by chain places like Bar Louie and Tilted Kilt. The Goan food is authentic although the decor and ambiance is super tacky. The fish dishes are a good bet and the curries are flavorful and have a good kick. I am not a big fan of the Novi scene. Even though the food is legit, I hate the accommodations the place had to make to adjust to the location and scene. It is very awesome to see Desi people have a place to hang out at night alongside locals.

  • Santhosh J.

The food here is simply awesome, especially the whole fish entrees. It is truly a cut above the other "mainstream" Indian restaurants, I consider this place to be at a Gourmet level. Going here and ordering the popular Indian dishes would be a waste - get the Goan dishes, especially the seafood ones. The whole Golden Pomfret is incredible, and get it at the "spicy" level, not that hot but has a lot of their awesome recheado seasoning that gives it such a unique flavor. The place is very clean, service is good, and alcohol selection is great. 5 stars!

The "Indo" stands for Indian and the "Fusion" represents a Portuguese influence. The specialty dishes here is Goan food, which I must confess I have never had before. Fun fact I researched: Goa is a Portuguese colony in India from which this cuisine is derived. The fusion if Indian + Portuguese didn't seem as random as I thought it was before. I had the Goenchi Chili Fry (Chicken 65) and was pleasantly surprised. Chicken was juicy and tender with a good amount of kick from the spices. A unique taste. The service was also attentive and quick. Would definitely recommend you try this place out. I know I'll be back at some point to try some of their other interesting dishes!

I enjoyed this restaurant very much! Great service and wonderful tasting entrees. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala which I favored over the Chicken Makhanwala. Due to the fact that it had more vegetables! A refreshing atmosphere filled with nice spices and tons of flavor!

I've only been here once. Really liked it. The staff was friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere. Good location (other fun things to do in the area). Clean. Food was very tasty. I am no expert on Indian cuisine but this was definitely some of the better Indian food I've had (haven't had much though haha). Would love to go back! However, I'm moving out of the state :-/. Would totally recommend it to a friend and would totally dine here again on return visits.

Having waited for a long time to visit Indo Fusion, we finally made it this Sat, having heard that this had won the 1st place in the A list of Indian Restaurants in Detroit for the year 2013. We stood out of the restaurant and really wanted to confirm if this is the one as it looked like a cafe from outside. Inspite of the cafe styling, the restaurant looked well lighted, the amazing huge fan on the top, very sanitized toilets, as a whole looked very clean and tidy. The menu card was sparse with veggie entrees. We ordered the regular Malai Kofta and Paneer Jal Frazie with Garlic Naan. The naan did not fit the grammatical rules of a fluffier, soft, semi crispy oval bread, but one that was rounded, thick paratha styled version. Size was considerably large, and with 4 Nan's we got 16 good sizes quarters, half of which we finally had to box it back home. The malai kofta was one the best malai koftas I have tasted in recent times. We wiped the bowl not leaving any trace of it, leaving it easier for the dishwasher. The paneer jalfrezi was good tasting and we finished that too. For dessert we tried the Goan pudding with ice cream and Gulab Jamun. The degree of sweetness was 3 in a scale of 5, leaving it as a once in a while savory for the health conscious. As a whole it was a good dinner and I will come back to taste the Hakka Noodles and the Very Veggie Pizza. Being listed as No 1 in te 2013 Detrot A list Indian restaurants, I recommend that they expand their Veggie offerings with Goan Vegetarian dishes part of their specials. That's going to be a crowd puller.

Decor looked more like a Polynesian joint than what I expect at an Indian place... yeah, whatever, I'm there for the food and what do I know about authentic Goan decor anyway? The aroma was promising as I walked in. The Malai Khofta was excellent, very well nuanced, it reminded me of a Nepalese thing I've had in the past. The salad dressing was certainly outside of the typical Indian box, but that's what fusion is about and it was good. The basmati rice was perfectly prepared. Initially I was disappointed with the serving size, but ended up being full so it was fine. The service was excellent, the waiter discretely attentive to everyone and efficient. The only reason I shorted it a star was because of the price: it was quite expensive. I get it, the rent at that location has to be pretty high, but because of that when I want Indian I'll probably go elsewhere most of the time. But for sure, give the place a try... next time I'll go for the green Goan Chicken. Oh yeah - how come no salty lassi?

As more and more Indian restaurants open in the area there is a tendancy for some to fall into the category of generic buffet slop. Seeing this had a Goan twist i was hoping it would stand out. The reason i give it 5 stars instead of 3 or 4 is because it hits all the things i look for in Indian food. Firstly it has a great level of spice. I am from England and am used to spicy curries and often Indians in America fall short. Both dishes i have had there have hit the spot. For those that dont like spicy heat there are many options also. My 4 year old had the lentil fry and enjoyed it. Secondly there is great variety on the menu not just on the main courses but the mango lassi and the pink cardamon tea drinks are great Thridly the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. I like the fact it is open to 2 on the 'party nights'. Whilst i have been completely sober the 2 times i have eaten there i know from back in England that nothing hits the spot at 1am after an evening of drinking like a curry. Now at least i have that option to re live my nights out of my past! if you are new to Indian food or you have eaten it many times before this is a great place to go

We're from India and we find this place to be one of the best ethnic Indian restaurants in the Farmington/Northville/ Novi area... It is so authentic and delish it's ridiculous. Hands down our favorite, try the dal fry and minced lamb kababs.

The food tasted great, but there were two bones in my lamb stew that I luckily avoided biting into. One bone knuckle included an exposed artery that was visually unappealing. I had a bad reaction an hour after eating here. My companion enjoyed his food but was ill later on as well. The service was good, there were 5-6 tables occupied around noon on a Thursday. Deli atmosphere, serves beer and wine.

We got a coupon in the weekly mailer for Indo Fusion a couple of weeks ago and decided to give it a try tonight. Indo Fusion is supposed to be an Indo-Goan restaurant. I looked forward to trying this since I haven't noticed this regional variation in any of the Indian restaurants around town. The restaurant is interestingly nestled in between Bar Louie, Lucky Strike, and Hooters in the Fountain Walk area of Novi and is not visible from the street. This worries me because it's a great place and could be easily overlooked. A lot of the dishes looked really interesting and tempting, but I ended up sticking with my old standby, Muttar Paneer. On a cold night like tonight, it felt like an easy choice. Delicious! Full of tomato and cilantro with a nice balance of heat. My husband got the Dal Fry which was also very good. Soupy, lemony, and gingery. The naan was also good (probably because it was slathered in butter). Both entrees had a nice presentation complete with a nice side salad and hot pepper and onions for garnish. I have to say that the pink Kashmiri tea was the show-stopper. Much richer than chai, it was a delicious blend of cardamom, pistachios, and almonds. We chose a piece of milk burfi which was a perfect pair for the tea. I might come back just for tea and Indian sweets!

Great food; friendly, helpful staff; and now, as of 2013, a full beer/wine/liquor license. Indo Fusion is a fun and tasty dining experience at a reasonable price.

I really liked the environment, it felt like an indoor beach with the painting on the wall and the bright colors. The food was pretty much as good as I can imagine indian food to even be. I got Chicken Tikka Masala, very spicy, I didn't realize how spicy that would be, it was a bit painful actually. Also got Mango Lassi which is the first I've had in a restaurant. Very good. The Naan wasn't as good as I've had, just something about the texture and taste, I didn't like how they drizzled oil on it either, but it was still quite good. For me, great naan is like the naan at Aahar on Grand River Ave.

Very unique combination of traditional Indian and Portuguese dishes. Innovative. Good quality and preparation. Chicken Tika Marsala sauce delicious, chicken was a bit on the dry side. Large variety of choices. We loved the shrimp appetizer and sesame cauliflower. Service is very attentive and fast. Family atmosphere. Will return.

An interesting find. An Indo-Portuguese fusion restaurant serving Goan cuisine, decorated like a surf shack on a beach. The chicken makhanwala was excellent and the tandoori chicken was great too. Interestingly, it comes with fries!?!

Never actually been inside of the place, but my husband often brings me chicken curry from there, and it's simply delicious. Comes with rice and salad, has a decent amount of chicken in it, and the spice blend tastes really authentic. I've had it 5 times or more, and every single time it was good, and as spicy as I wanted it to be. A lot of Asian places struggle with consistency, this is not the case. They also have some promotions, which is nice. You can get a free appetizer, if you call them, and 5% off for a yelp check in. Definitely planning on actually going there, and exploring the full menu :)

Samosas are a great way to start an Indian meal and the ones here were as good as I have ever had. As a group of 5 we ordered two servings of four. They were served with an excellent sauce. We thought it would be hard to beat the taste of the Samosa but we were wrong, the Sesame Gobi were even more delicious. I then ordered the sausage (chorizo) curry and it was very good. I had never had this before, it was a surprise. I thought I was going to get a chunk of sausage but it actually came in a bowl like a stew with ground sausage and vegetables. It was very good and had a nice salad on the side. I asked for it mild and it was just right for me---still a pretty good kick. The naan was tasty and everyone in the group enjoyed the meal. Veneta our server did a perfect job. All of the house wines were good and they have a good selection of beer. The only reason this is not a 4 star in my opinion is the ambiance. Its like eating at a KFC. I like casual, but not like this--they need to work on this. Also they messed up my reservation. When I called to change it they said they did not have my reservation. Luckily I called because they were busy.

As close as it can get to home food. The fish curry, fish Fry, shrimps curry all are very good. The standout dish for me always is Pomfret Fry !!! They serve Kingfisher and several other Indian beers as well.. Whatever curry you choose try the traditional paav instead of naan/roti with it, Superawesome it is !! Food is Just a little on the expensive side.. but this joint is unique & so worth it

Avoid it. Food sucks, so are prices! By the way, there is one less thing to worry about this restaurant. They include the tip by themselves without your consent in the final bill, irrespective of the number of dining members. Don't go even if you have some free money to throw.

Five of us gathered here to celebrate my dad's birthday. Dad loves Indian food, and Indo Fusion was his pick. In addition to my dad, my brother and I are both solid Indian food fans. My mom and husband, not so much. After careful review, there was literally nothing on the menu that sounded good to hubby, so he gamely decided he would share whatever the rest of us ordered. As it turns out, he doesn't like the base spices in Indian food, so he didn't share much. He ended up having some naan, some salad, and the French fry garnish from my mom's chicken reshmi tikka. Note, I am not downgrading my rating for Indo Fusion based on my sorta-kinda-picky-eater husband, but this is a word to the wise: if someone in your party doesn't like Indian food, they are probably not going to enjoy dinner here. As for the rest of us, even my mom, we loved the food! My mom's chicken reshmi tikka was a mild dish with yogurt-marinated chicken chunks and a creamy mild curry sauce. My dad and brother both ordered chorizo curry, which had delicious spicy sausage in a spicy tomato-based curry. I ordered the Malai kofta, which was fried vegetable balls in the same creamy curry sauce that came with my mom's dish, with just a bit more spice. In addition to our entrees, we split some naan, samosas, and Indian potato bread. Naan and samosas were yummy; the potato bread was just OK. And since it was Dad's birthday, we ordered bebinca, which was described as a seven-layer cake, but which came out looking like a ribbon of dense pudding with seven stripes. It also tasted more like a dense pudding and it was delicious, served with a side of strawberry ice cream. We really liked our server. She was knowledgeable and just the right amount of informally friendly to make us feel at home. Throughout our meal, she was attentive and our drinks stayed topped off. What didn't impress me so much is the seating. Although the food seems worthy of better, and the price seems to warrant better, we were seated at basic cafeteria tables with not-so-comfy cafeteria chairs. If the seating had been better, this would probably be a 4 star review.

Disclaimer- I AM A FAN of this place!!! I stayed in MI for 3 yrs and explored indian joints. I was born and raised in western And southern india, so got a flavor of authentic north and south indian food. Of the numerous places I have been to in the US ( excluding NYC restaurants), This place ranks in top 5 and In MI, 1-2. The strength is consistency and variety, esp the FISH!!! OMG!!! I miss the taste!! Authentic, spice levels are well balanced, clean and the foos is DELICIOUS!! This is the only restaurant where I finish my entire plate alone! Must have- Goan fish, tandoori shrimp, fresh coconut water, chicken lollipop and malai kofta!!!! Caution- pricy!! TIP- recommend Goan fish, tandoori shrimp, fresh coconut water, chicken lollipop and malai kofta!!!! Caution- pricy!!

I've never had Indian food before and in all honesty didn't have plans to try it anytime soon. But my wife and I had a date day and insisted that we check them out. I'm adventurous but I was a little leery about trying Indo Fusion because it was new and very different. Needless to say by looking at the rating, the place was great. First off, they are running a promotion on the appetizers. Free when you check in up to a $9 value. The servers were good and the food was better. My wife had the Tandoorian Chicken and I had the Chicken Tiki Pizza both were excellent but I enjoyed my wife's food even better than my own. I recommend that anyone come here and enjoy.

Had a prepaid buffet here and was very disappointed in the food, beverage and service. The food (samosas, paneer and gulab jamun) tasted very bland and I did not enjoy them. While I was eating, one of the servers came up to me and asked me if I wanted anything to drink with my food. He phrased this such that it sounded like it was included in the cost of the buffet, and I decided to get the mango lassi. He quickly ran off and got the lassi for me before anyone at my table had the chance to order. When he came back, he got a bill for the lassi, which caused the others at my table to not order any drinks like they had thought to as they too felt like the servers phrasing made it seem like the drinks were included in the cost. The mango lassi itself was terrible and I only bothered with a couple of sips of it. The only positive of the restaurant was the ambiance. They have a really large fan on the ceiling that gives added to the restaurant theme (though admittedly the theme seemed more Hawaiian or Caribbean than it did Indian).

Can't wax eloquent about this place. It simply was crazy good and a fun place to eat. First time I ever drank from a cocoanut was here. Maybe y'all have done that before but that crazy goodness was new to me. Food was amazing. I ate until the buttons of my shirt started popping. Really, really good place.

Indo Fusion was the winner for the 2014 Best Indian on Detroit's A List City Voter's website, so we decided to check it out. The restaurant is located in a Shopping complex, next to Emagine movie theater and across the Lucky Strike bowling alley. There is plenty of parking around the complex. The décor is casual with an island Goan theme. The positive points of Indo Fusion are that the food was delicious, perfectly spiced with lots of distinct flavor. The portions are huge. The service did not start well in the beginning until we started to order, then our server was all of a sudden a bit more attentive. I don't like the mandatory 18% gratuity. First off, it is not published any where in the restaurant or on their website. Secondly, if you receive bad service or have issues during your dinner, then who in their right mind will tip a poor experience. We asked the server why they added this mandatory tip and her answer was amusing. Apparently, the owner's explanation is that they have a lot of foreign diners who come in and don't understand the concept of tipping. In order to help them understand this phenomenon of tipping, they help in tacking this 18% to every bill. They are offering a 5% discount right now for Yelp check in and even took my phone to key in the discount at the beginning but when we left, we looked closely at the bill and realized that it was not applied. They will forget the discount but not the automatic gratuity. Check your bill.

Good place. Tried Paneer Tikka Masala which had a close to Indian feel. Rasmalai also tasted great. Friend tried Chicken Lollipops and Goan Chicken, both tasted superb.

Ordered: xacuti chicken curry, chicken 65, chicken tikka pizza, sannas, mango lassi Price: $48 without tip Food: Second time here with the wife and we're still impressed with this place. The food is delicious and the flavors unique. Some dishes are a little odd such as the chicken 65 which had a sweet sauce served with fries and (corn starch?) battered chicken which was reminiscent of chinese sweet-sour chicken. It wasn't my favorite due to preference and not any fault of the dish or its execution as it was tender and the breading light and crispy. The Xacuti was a green vegetal-tasting curry bursting with hearty cumin-y goodness served over perfect basmati rice and a tiny salad, I would highly recommend it. We used the sannas for dipping. They are steamed buns with the consistency of a steamed light cornbread but with a mild coconut milk flavor. On their own they are fine but the fun comes in dipping them in the sauces as they add a creamy dimension and new texture to dishes, Perhaps the most interesting dish, however, was the tikka pizza which tasted exactly like tikka masala with chunks of chicken and paneer served over a naan thin crust. The crust was a little flimsy/soggy but the edges crispy and it certainly didn't stop us from throughly enjoying the fun modern twist on a classic dish. The mango lassi is wonderfully thick and yogurty, so much so you may need a sip of water afterwards. It was excellent for cutting the spice. Overall we really enjoy Indo fusion. Their strength definitely lies in their complex flavors and their ability to cook food well. The meat is always tender, veges crisp, and dishes piping hot and fresh. I especially appreciate when they say medium spicy it actually IS spicy and I fear the hot will definitely be challenging. I would gladly come back again.

A MUST TRY! I like to try exotic foods, but even my friends who don't stray far from American comfort foods love this place. I haven't tried a single dish at Indo Fusion that I didn't love (and I've tried a good deal of it). I highly recommend this restaurant.

Wow what a delicious surprise. Tucked away in an outdoor shopping center, I wasn't sure about braving the cold walk from the parking lot. So glad I did. Dishes in the menu can be made as a vegetarian option. Had some delicious curry. Comes with rice and salad for a full meal. Be sure to try the pink tea, a delicious concoction of tea, milk, spices, and nuts. Very soothing on this cold night.

I give this a five star. I was about to give a four star but that wee little point against them does not deserve a four star, hence the five. I and my wife overall loved the food and will be back soon to try out the rest of the menu. We had vegetable hakka noodles and two samosas and paneer tikka masala. Excellent flavor and per my wife, reminded her of India. ( A feat not many Indian restaurants here in the States can boast). The bad points: No parking. ( They share the parking with Emagine Theater, Lucky Strike pool hall, a cocktail lounge and Hooters, so on a Saturday evening like tonight parking was non-existant. However we were lucky to find one in the back towards the other side of the mall. Bad point#2: Here is a place should have called in before hand and reserved a table! When we got there, we had to wait by the door for 15 minutes. Then we finally get a table. Bad point #3: Initially our Kashmir pink tea and the samosas arrived almost immediately but there was a huge gap of 1/2 before the rest of our meal arrived. But as I said earlier, the tastes of what we really came here for was excellent and thus supersedes the few bad points, making this experience a great one! So yes, we will be back!!

We returned to try some Goan curries. Wow! The fish curry had chunks of fish in a flavorful brown curry plus a pan fried filet on the side. Each curry was beautifully presented in a glazed pot with a scoop of rice and a cool salad in creamy dressing. It is very expensive for the amount of food you get but the quality is there. The discount lunch menu is gone. There were some interesting fresh fish specials but they are all over $20 which is just not economical for lunch.

Always great food. The makhanwala sauce is always a hit especially with the paneer. Cannot recommend enough the Chicken Tikka Pizza. It's large enough for two or as an appetizer

I have been a regular customer since these guys opened up in novi. I have had few bad experiences with ordering the right food. Charged extra for something i didn't even order. It usually because the waitress didn't understand our order and I knew what i ordered explained to her not just twice but 3 times and still wrong order and then on top the waitress/manager/i think owner tells me I know you guys come here often but order correctly and this wont happen again. I was shocked and outraged and i responded at the same moment with a proper subtle response. Now how can you say that to a regular customer who knows what he is ordering. Now at my last visit which was on 9/27/14. We were party of four. They added gratuity without even letting us know. And when asked they said we changed our policy. Well then they should have wrote it at the entrance as well as informed us before we ordered food. I have worked as a waiter and never given less then 20% tip. This was clearly a racial profiling since i look like a indian. They lost my business. I loved their chicken tikka and chicken 65. But i can live without them. I would recommend to stay away from this place. Such practices shouldn't be tolerated. Food is good no doubt. But there are other options in novi. I would suggest Birmingham area for your next dinner double date.

The owner of this restaurant tried too hard to replicate a Goan shack in Novi. The service was okay. Our waitress seemed too overwhelmed with what she was doing. When I enquired about the vegetable Biriyani (a one pot vegetable rice dish) she informed me that there was only one order left, so think fast and order immediately. When I heard that I kind of lost my appetite. Is this a fast food joint or a restaurant? We ordered from the Indo Chinese section of the menu. Ordered vegetable Hakka noodles and basmati rice. Also tried the Sanna (soft steamed rice cakes that look like Idli) with Dal. The noodles were good. They are not the typical dry kind. These noodles had some gravy. The basmati rice was served in extremely small containers. Half the rice kernels ended up on the table rather than on my plate. However, the Sanaa with the Dal combo was out of this world!

I have only been to a few Indian restaurants over the years and generally have not been a fan of Indian food, but was traveling with coworkers and they wanted to go here for dinner. I have to say that I really enjoyed my meal. I let my coworkers order the appetizers so not entirely sure what they ordered, but it was good. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Reshmi Tikka and enjoyed it as well. Portion sizes were large and I couldn't finish everything. We also had some Naan on the side. Service was good and the restaurant had a nice little ambience to it. Would certainly come here again if ever in the area.

  • Amol B.

Food lacks authentic Indian taste for the dishes we ordered and totally tasteless food. Waiters were rude in reusing to change move table. We were served naan only for 15 minutes and kept waiting for main course. Moreover as stated by other users, it charged 20% tip and also punished me 2 bucks for sharing food on the table. All this without even informing me. I will never recommend this place to anyone and not return either.

Excellent service by Veneta! Goan food is a must try. But if you want some comfort food... I highly suggest the chicken tikka pizza. Chunks of paneer, chicken and crispy naan. You can't go wrong! Must try.

My family and I just left this establishment and after a fairly decent meal I'm leaving with a VERY BITTER taste in my mouth due to what I feel to be racial profiling. We were a party of 4 African American adults and 1 infant and our waitress, Priscilla, added an 18% gratuity. She shot herself in the foot. My Lawyer husband, and myself a physician, would have given her 20% because her service was good. We're from out of town so we didn't make a fuss, but I would not recommend supporting an establishment were this is acceptable practice.

Visited this place with big expectations mainly because of the positive ratings on yelp. I wish that people who haven't visited multiple indian restaurants would stop rating this place so highly. First of all the service really sucked...after waiting about 10minutes to get a menu, we got up and went and got them ourselves. When we were finally served they had gotten our orders wrong and forgotten parts of it. Secondly, this place is overpriced for the kind of food you get. Lastly, the decor is really tacky. Definitely wont be giving this place a second chance.

The good -- I have never had better Vindaloo or Sorpotel in the US than here. They really do a good job of the Goan food, and it's hard to find Indian places which do great Pork. They do a better job with Fish than most Indian places. The Sannas are great and steaming as they come to the table, and they do a great Kashmiri tea. The bad -- I do not recommend it for vegetarians. The two times we've ordered vegetarian dishes (they don't have any Goan vegetarian options on the menu, so they'll offer to customize a meat item in vegetarian for you. Both times I've paid $15 for very ordinary vegetarian dishes. But if you can't handle super spicy or the heavy vinegary flavour of some of the great Goan dishes, this may not work for you. The dishes are on the smaller side, so you need an appetizer alongside the main dish. Its $30 per head Net for a full meal without drinks, but has the ambiance of a budget Indian food place. Not recommended for vegetarians or as a general Indian food place - I would not go there for anything but a Goan fix, highly recommended for pork eaters.

Met a friend here tonight for the first time. I go to Fountain Walk frequently, and I had not seen this one before, so I figured it was fairly new. I found it located next to Cold Stone, near the Emagine. Food was good, menu is an interesting mix of Indian and Portuguese foods. Waitstaff was very friendly. The place is not very big, thanks to the other reviews on Yelp we had made reservations beforehand though. I had an Indian chicken dish with cashews and some sort of cream cheese, it came out like a stir fry. It also came with fries and rice and a delicious sauce. Try the Gulab Jamun for dessert, always good. Their garlic naan was yummy too. I deducted one star for the prices being a little high, But they're probably not that much higher than other Indian restaurants in the area. So overall I would give them maybe 4 1/2 stars out of five. And I will probably be back as there aren't a ton of Indian restaurants in the Novi area. :-)

two stars for : 1) good place to sit - ambience is very Goan! 2) Service is good. I expected better tasting food though. They have quite a variety of goan fish recipes on the menu but the one i had was salty. My wife liked her indo chinese dish. But I would like them to concentrate on the food more. The other thing that I did not like at all was they had already put gratuity on the bill, and we were only 2 people. The food is expensive in itself too. I was very happy to walk into this place, but was disappointed when i walked out.

love it! I go with co-workers atleast twice a month. The service can be slow, and with only an hour for lunch we order in advance and they have our table all ready for us. I love the chicken tikka pizza and the channa masala. Sometimes gratuity is included, sometimes it's not. I've never been able to figure out the pattern. I've always had great service, and I usually dine with a vegetarian and a vegan and they always love the veg choices.

I can't give it more stars, this is just an update to say I come to Info Fusion weekly with my colleagues and I love the place. Clean good food. Great Flavors. Not fast food. Real food. Chana Masala and Sha Koo Tee both Vegan are my favorites. My colleagues favorites are Chicken Tika Pizza and Mailai Kofta. ---- This is my first review on yelp so this means I was impressed. I am a foodie and love trying different foods. This was hands down one of the best places that I have been to out in Michigan. The food was delicious, the place was clean, they easily gave me vegan options and were willing to change dishes to be vegan. Samosas were fresh and steaming and the sauces they brought out were fresh and delish. Can't wait to go back.

This place I recommend to everyone, instead of the same ol', same ol' restaurants in Novi. They combine Indian flavors with Portuguese flavors in their dishes which is quite wonderful. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I'd recommend the sesame Gobi, which is fried cauliflower with a sweet and spicy chilli sauce. The prawn curry is also wonderful the sauce is very spicy so if you normally get medium spice just be aware it will be quite a bit hotter than what you are used to. To drink the mango lassi is always a good choice, however the Kashmiri pink tea is a great way to end the meal hot tea with cardamom, cinnamon and milk with pistachio nuts on top....so good!

  • Akhil A.

Though the food is good, the service is super slow and is overpriced. What is more absurd about the pricing and the reason for only one star is that a 18% tip is added to each bill regardless of number if people or service. Instead of marking up the prices up by 18% upfront and making the menu look more expensive, it is added to the total bill regardless of service provided. hence the one star!!! Never going back till this loot is fixed.

Nice experience of Goan food! We had whole black pomfret as recommended and it was highlight of the lunch! We had ordered chicken xacuti and pompret curry which was also really good. There is unique dessert called Bebinca which probably you won't find anywhere else in Michigan and it reminds me of Goa. Pink tea which was another recommendation turned out really good. Overall excellent experience. Highly recommended.

Wonderful restaurant! Beautiful tropical-like ambience, delicious food, courteous wait staff, what more can you ask for in a restaurant? The fish is fresh, the spices are just right: none of that americanized taste is found here. They seem to have a shortage of cooks, though. Thr food takes forever to arrive! However, they have soccer on television, so, no complaints. Must-try item is the xacuti!

  • Neil R.

Visited this place for Saturday lunch. Most tables were occupied but there was only 1 waiter. Service was very slow. Chicken lollipop special & goat xacuti were decent but entree of goan fish curry was not typical for goan food. I am from Mumbai & have frequently visited Goa and know what it tastes like but this was far from the mark. Worst experience was including a 20% gratuity in the bill in fine print, asking for a further tip when asked to sign bill although the overall experience wasn't deserving of such a tip. I do tip well when service is good and feel the customer should be allowed to decide on a tip.

  • Tammam B.

Conclusions: -Complex and well balanced flavors. -Definitely a staple eat out location with perfectly packaged to go portions. -The meat is great quality (the lamb is not pungent). I live nearby and eat here on a weekly/biweekly basis. Xacuti de Galinha (Chicken Curry) and Chicken Makhanwala with a naan order are my usual choices, but I've tried almost everything and haven't regretted anything. If you're on yelp, I assume you're adventurous enough to enjoy this cuisine (otherwise close your browser and go to Olive Garden). Price/quality combo makes this gem an asset to our community.

I have been here twice and the food is amazing. I am Indian and I know what it takes to make a good Indian dish and trust me the food here is delicious. I am giving it 4 stars just because when I went there the first time with my friend, the female attendent was a little mean while making table arrangements for us.

  • Abdul S.

This restaurant's food gets a 3.5, but the service bumps it down to 3. I had to get up several times to get the waitress, ask for water, etc., and she seemed not to be concerned with the customers. I liked the general atmosphere and cleanliness of the place. We ordered some authentic dishes and they were good, despite being light on the protein portions. Usually this would not be a huge deal, but for the price (15-16 per meal), I was expecting a little more. I would recommend this restaurant if you are carrying out and not looking for a very big meal

Took my wife to this restaurant located at Fountain Walk, Novi, on her birthday, the food was OK but the service was awful. restaurant was understaffed. We were asked to sit at a table under which the floor was full of breadcrumbs., asked for water, it was served without ice (server did not bother to ask if we would prefer water with or without the ice). I had to get ice myself from soda dispensing machine. I had called the restaurant at 8:30 pm and requested golden pomfret be ready by 9:15 as my wife was fasting due to Ramadan. The fish was served 15 minutes after my wife was supposed to break her fast i. e. 9:30. We needed an extra bowl of rice, after ten minutes of wait, when none of the waiters (there was only one waiter and a busgirl), showed up, I had to walk to the waiter to order a bowl of rice. After 15 minutes of wait when the rice was still not served, I walked to the counter, asked for the manager, a pirate looking person with a beard and a black headscarf introduced himself as the manager. When I complained about the service, he gave me a blank look and didn't have the courtesy to apologize. By this time, fish was cold as ice, I asked for the check, paid the money that I shouldn't have, of course without any tip. A couple of days before this experience I went for a business lunch at this restaurant. The service was slow that day too but not as lousy as it was last night. I will never go back there. You are welcome to experience this yourself.

Great food! Go easy on the spice level, as even medium is "hot" in Goanese food. Definitely try the lamb Xachuti.

I'm sure I'm not alone in being unfamiliar with Goan cuisine. I'm a fan of both Portuguese and Indian cuisine, so my friends and I decided to take advantage of their Goan menu. I ordered a plate of their Chorizo de Goa Curry with a mango lassi. The waitress asked how hot I'd like it, and I asked for as hot as they could. While it wasn't super spicy, I was satisfied with the heat level that was there. The Goa chorizo has a slightly different texture than the Mexican chorizo I'm familiar with. It felt less processed and was much more texturally pleasant and flavorful in a curry application. The curry was packed with potatoes, onions, and stewed tomato chunks. The spicy tomato stew was extraordinarily rich and creamy and the curry was served piping hot. A serving of rice and a side salad were served with the dinner. My friends went with the Pork Vindaloo with medium heat and they also quite enjoyed it. The lassi was also wonderfully rich. Sometimes, lassis are overblended for a smooth consistency or thin so they are easier to drink through a straw. This still had chunks of mango in it and was very rich - more milkshake than milk. Delicious. We chose to go with the naan over the paav. Soft, light, fantastic. Service was very good. There was a fun and modern ambiance inside. Prices are reasonable. (~$15/person dinner) After doing some reading more into Goan cuisine, I learned that no Goan meal is complete without fish, which explains why all the daily specials were varieties of fish. None of us ordered fish. Our Goan meal is not complete. Next time!

  • Zen G.

The ambience was great but when you are trying to pass your over fried chicken as being the typical goanese cuisine even a rock can see through your bullshit. And if refusing to replace the served entree is your normal practice please stop sending your server over every 2 minutes to ask how the food is, it's counterintuitive.

This is the only unique place to eat at Fountain Walk. I mean, how many wing spots can you really have? This restaurant is Indo Fusion, which I wish they would explain on the menu. Instead, I learned more about Goa on their website. I'll definitely have to try the "fusion" plates because for lunch, I just settled for the lamb kabob. The actual menu is ideal for dinner, and simply too much for lunch, especially when you factor in the cost: All above $10, whereas the lunch menu is more reasonable in cost and portion. Lunch specials also are not consistent. It's about four-five things depending on the day. We tried the papadum to start, which are lentil chips. I must find these at the store now. They're really light and crunchy, and I could probably overload on them. I got my sauce for my kebobs mild. I can handle heat but I know better than try to get anything but mild at an authentic spot. And boy, I'm glad I did. It was a slow, rising heat. So at first, it didn't taste spicy at all. Ten minutes later, I'm asking for about five refills on water. The lambs itself were really big and chunky and actually looked more like Italian sausages. They were burned here and there. And I'm almost positive the menu said it came with a salad, but I never got it.

  • Myla P.

Food is good. Try the lamb xacuti as the entree. Bebinca as dessert is great. Have to wait for the appetizer for a long time, though. Service is slow and they add 18% tip by default! That's not fair.

I had lunch at this place today. Since I saw many good reviews I thought I would try it out. We had the paneer jalfriezi, american chop suey, naan, sannas and Kashmiri tea The paneer dish was average, I am used to a much more flavorful dish having eaten this dish in many places in the us and India The dish was quite bland and watery and even with medium level wasn't spicy The american chop suey wasn't bad but they should serve the crispy noodles separately so that it doesn't get soft in the sauce The tea was the only positive experience and the naan was decent Overall it is definitely priced higher than equivalent Indian places Bottom line I have had much more tastier food than this and won't be coming back

I hadthe lamb curry and thought the quality and quantity were 5 stars out of 5. Perfect balance of sweet and spicy and the service was great as well. Would go back.

Must try.

OK, so we were pumped to try Goan cuisine.....and it basically tasted like Indian food, and that's where the party ended. We tried 4 different dishes and various appetizers, and only one of the four dishes was a winner.
