I really like this hotel. The rooms have always been very clean and I enjoy the beautiful dark hard woods throughout the room. The hotel is attached to the Toasted Oak restaurant, which is great for room service or for a breakfast meeting with a member of my team the next morning. While they don't have a concierge level, Marriott rewards members will enjoy free food and drinks in their attached snack bar on the lobby level. The hotel has a very modern vibe and has become one of my favorite places to stay when working in the Detroit area.

Love this hotel! Very clean, modern, and pretty (esp for chain hotels)! We stay here whenever we are in the Novi area. Really good restaurant in hotel (actually pretty impressed), and very spacious and nice gym. Wish I could stay at this hotel wherever I go!

We recently held our wedding ceremony & reception at The Baronette Renaissance and can't recommend this venue highly enough! Amber Gaines (Catering Sales Manager) and all of the hotel staff did an absolutely fantastic job of helping us coordinate and execute a perfect day from start to finish. The venue, food, value, location, and service were top-notch! Reasons The Baronette Renaissance topped our list: -Great customer service and quick responses via email or phone -Could host both ceremony & reception on-site -Didn't feel like a "typical" hotel -- beautiful urban style, local menu items & artwork, etc. -Convenient location (Metro Detroit, right off I-96 & next to Twelve Oaks Mall) and plush accommodations for wedding party & out-of-town guests -Newly renovated hotel feels brand new with sleek, modern style and charming local accents (i.e., Michigan-sourced menu items, Michigan-themed décor in guest rooms) -Budget-friendly (60 guest wedding reception & ceremony for less than $5000)

My second time here and I love this hotel! I travel extensively and this is one of my favorite Marriott properties. Good restaurant, free candy in lobby, nice rooms. Lots of restaurants around but the hotel restaurant is pretty good too if you don't want to venture out. Staff is always friendly.

Nice hotel; maintenance could be better. Now not every hotel could be perfect. It's a tough business. But I should hope to not see blood on the bed sheets after room service came in on the 3rd day of my stay. The washrooms are in dire need of fans. And the walls are thinner than you'd expect. I could hear every word of my neighbor's conversation the the 3rd "exclusive access" floor.

My husband & I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Baronette Renaissance on April 5, 2013, and it was a wonderful experience from the very beginning. Amber Gaines was our point of contact and she walked me through everything from the different menu options available, to planning a tasting with my groom-to-be, to helping me get the room block set up, and organizing everything pre-wedding so I wouldn't have to worry about anything that weekend! I just want to say that a full service establishment like the Baronette Renaissance is the best way to go for a wedding. We didn't want a huge wedding, but we wanted it to be fun and to have great food. I still have people complementing me about my wedding, two years later, saying that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. But even before we got to that point, the pre-planning was made simple. I did all of the prep for the wedding myself, and was able to drop off anything that would be needed for the reception (seating cards, table numbers I made, table signs for the bar/cake table/etc, wooden flower decorations, zombies... yes... zombies... I'll get back to that in a little bit, and even our wedding favors) off a week before hand and they set up everything for me! All I had to do was provide them a headcount and table assignments, and after that I didn't even have to worry, it was set up perfectly. We checked into the hotel the night before the wedding so we wouldn't have to rush the day of, and had our rehearsal that evening in the room we would have the ceremony in the next day. The junior suite we were in was beautiful and comfortable. The day of the wedding, the hotel staff made sure that everything was set up in the ceremony and reception rooms, and that the guys were ready before they called me and my bridesmaids down. They took care of everything, including opening and doors for my entrance! Between the ceremony and the reception, we had hor d'oeuvres passed while the wedding party took pictures, and I swear that there was a never-ending supply of hor d'oeuvres. They were able to get us into the reception a little earlier than planned, since the wedding ceremony itself was short, and everything went smoothly. The banquet staff couldn't have been better - fast, always checking on people and making sure everyone had what they needed, and they kept replacing my drink with a fresh one every time I got dragged away from the head table for something. Instead of a cake, we had gourmet cupcakes that we had brought in, but we had a single tier cake that we purchased through the hotel, and the banquet staff/chef had fun decorating the cake with the zombie figures we brought, using red gel for blood. It was a nice touch that they would take the time to do something like that. The next day, the hotel had everything boxed up and ready for us to take home with us. It was the perfect place for a wedding, the hotel rooms were perfect, classy-looking, and comfortable, that staff all weekend - and before! - was absolutely wonderful, and I couldn't have asked for anything better wedding!

One of the best breakfast buffets I've ever had, not a huge selection but the quality is great.

Lovely set up. Room was clean and well appointed. Bed was amazingly comfy. Bathtub was big enough for a decent soak. Staff was nice. Overall, give it a try.

I stayed at the Hotel Baronette Renaissance Hotel last night. As I walked through the doors I was very impressed with the decorum. Sleek, modern, crafty, beautiful artifacts and accent furniture in several venues in the lobby area were captivating . Front desk staff appeared to be professional in appearance, friendly, personable and helpful. Once we checked in and entered our room that's when the first impression went south. We unpacked and settled in. I tried to plug in my technical devices into a electrical strip of about 4-5 outlets and none of them worked. After several attempts I called the front desk and the engineer came up immediately. He said yes, the electrical strip was not working but he'd temporarily fixed it so I could use one outlet. He promised to return the next day and fix it. He asked my permission to come back the next day. I said how about putting me in another room. He said no but he would come back the next day. After he left the front desk called and said they wanted to move us to another room so I said "yes". A few minutes after that the engineer came to my room with a key to room 179 from 177. When entering 179 it was visibly smaller. I thought they would at least offer us an upgrade because of our being inconvenienced and it was clear that the hotel was not full but that was not a consideration. I mention this ( the room seemed smaller) to the engineer and he said it looks that way because it's on the opposite side of the hall. So we get settled in then cold air started blowing in the room every 10-15 minutes. I really didn't want to call the front desk again so I tried to prank around with the heating and cooling device on the wall. I couldn't tell if I'd solve the problem or not so yes I called the front desk again. The engineer came and confirmed that the heat was working. Later in the evening we wanted ice- so I took the ice bucket and followed the signs in the hall to the ice room which was in room 125. Mind you this was not close to my room. So I'm there trying to use my key because the door was locked to the ice room - my key didn't work. Track back to my room with no ice. I called the front desk again. They said they didn't realize the door was locked so I asked could someone bring me ice and a few minutes later a knock on the door ended the ice dilemma. The next morning we decided to have In Room breakfast because it was easier with the kids. We ordered 3 orders of pancakes @ $8.00 each 2 orders of bacon@ $4.00 each, 2 dr peppers and 1 cup of coffee. Gratuity 18% automatically added to the bill and $2.50 delivery fee. Breakfast $53.+ dollars. FYI. The breakfast was not edible even with the syrup the kids would not eat those pancakes! The bacon was fine coffee was awful. Needless to say we had to go out later for food. Additionally when we tried to use the balcony I discovered a pizza box on the balcony. So I just told the kids that they could not use the balcony. When we were checking out I told Vanessa at the front desk that a pizza box was left on the balcony from the previous guest can you let housekeeping know so that they can get it off the balcony. She said oh, we're sorry about that we will take care of it right away. I stepped over to let others up to the desk. Vanessa called housekeeping and said " there was some garbage left and a pizza box on the balcony in room 179 can you take care of it?". I said to Vanessa, "why did you report that as though we left garbage in the room; we did not have pizza last night- the box was left by a prior guest!. She said oh sorry about that! I was deeply insulted by her accusations. Hotel Baronette Renaissance Hotel, Novi, MI. have a beautiful first impression, however there's much work to do on maintenance, Restraunt food, the staff appearing to be warm and helpful but very disingenuous. While I am a Marriott Rewards Member I doubt if I'd ever return to Hotel Baronette Renaissance.

We just attended a wedding reception at the Hotel Baronette on 5/29/10. Part of the hotel has been redone in modern decor. It looks very nice. I was really impressed with the service throughout the whole reception. The waitstaff was prompt and organized. Everything ran like clockwork. The food, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. I will give the appetizers two thumbs up, but the entrees were cold and my chicken was so dry, I had to take a sip of water with every bite. My husband's beef tenderloin was close to raw in the middle. Yuck!

An upscale Marriott property, the Hotel Baronette has a few excellent amenities, starting with their front desk service. On check in, Michele took great care of me, even calling the restaurant to make a reservation and check to see if they could accommodate my food allergy. Their "in-house" restaurant, the Toasted Oak Grill and Market, is a breath of fresh air in an area clogged with chain eateries. Be sure to check out my detailed review of the Toasted Oak on Yelp for more information. Quick tips - go for dinner and/or drinks and snacks at the bar. Skip the breakfast buffet. The rooms are well appointed, but the HVAC system needs some improvement. While running, it makes an awfully loud grinding noise, which is not conducive to sleep. Luckily, the weather was temperate during my stay, so I simply turned it off. (I did check with other guests and the front desk about this. Unfortunately, there was nothing to be done, and it seemed to be a problem for most guests, not just me. Not sure about the "elite" third floor rooms. I was on the second.) I liked that the rooms were equipped with a small refrigerator, so I could stash extra water and fresh fruit, leftovers from dinner, and a bottle of wine purchased at the Toasted Oak Market at the front of the restaurant. The Aveda bath products were a nice touch as well.

This hotel was recommended by my coworker who lives in the area, so it was very convenient to where I needed to go for the local office there. That tip means nothing except to any coworkers who read this, however. But truly - the stars are simply for all the hotel has to offer. Our corporate rate included a breakfast buffet and internet, but even if it didn't the rate would still be good for the beautiful, clean room I walked into, the service, and the great restaurant attached. And I got Marriott points for it. I would stay here every single time I am in the area. One of the better hotels I've been to in quite a while.

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago for a skating competition. Our team had booked at this location and my visiting parents were able to book a room as well. We booked through the hotel's website and received a better price than that outlined for our team booking. The location of this hotel is very convenient for everything. It is across the street from malls and restaurants and there is close access to the highways/freeways. The hotel itself is super modern and we loved the decor. The rooms are done in navy and yellow, which make them bright and relaxing. We liked how our rooms faced a courtyard as they were very quiet, though it was a tad uncomfortable to be able to see in to many peoples' rooms. The room was very clean and our king bed was huge and very comfortable. You have your pick of about 8 pillows of different sizes and fabrics. Aveda products are provided and each room also had a mini-fridge. We found the staff to be very friendly and always greeted us as we came and went. The only downsides to the hotel are the breakfast options and the extra cost for the third floor rooms. My parents booked an 'upgraded' room on the top floor, which ended up being one room above ours. Everything was the exact same as our cheaper room, except they had a Keurig beverage maker vs our smaller 'no name' one, and an extra shower head in the shower. We were not very pleased with the hotel restaurant's breakfast offerings. The buffet was pricey and quite small. Service was slow and dishes were expensive for what you received. It seemed that breakfast vouchers were provided with some rooms and so that was why the restaurant was packed with business men.

Two of the most basic things a hotel needs to get a good rating are a comfortable bed and the ability to cool the room to a good sleeping temperature. The bed is ok in a pinch, but far from comfortable. The a/c is loud, barely works, and is set to prevent turning down below moderate settings. The first night we were on the third floor and had not only the a/c noise, but something on the roof above us that roared like a jet plane. Both nights we had to leave the window open to get cool air in the room. The window was blocked to only open a couple inches and required we leave the curtains half open as well for any air circulation. A blue night light thing by the door glows so brightly that we had to lean a suitcase against it to try and darken the room. Lots of slamming doors, so not the thickest walls either. The room was clean and functional, though the bath was small and had only minimal counter space. The staff was friendly, the lobby was nice, and the wine bar / deli next door was decent, including a basic but well done breakfast buffet. Not a bad hotel, but I'd certainly look around for some place with nicer beds and better a/c next time.

I so wish I could give more than 5 stars. I had my reception at the Hotel Baronette on 11/23/13 - besides it being the best party I've ever been to, the hotel staff exceeding my expectations. Everyone was so unbelievably kind and did anything and everything to cater to my husband and me. Let me tell you how: They made sure we had appetizers and drinks for all of the bridal party out in the lobby, brought us (and my parents) drinks while the bar was closed for an hour, made sure everything was perfect upon guests arrival, accommodated my friends who had to stay another night with giving them our room rate, made sure all the presents/cards got safely back to our room, packed up our leftovers from dinner and gave us a whole new meal as well, allowed my dog to stay with my parents for free (usually a $200 fee), accommodated reservations at Toasted Oak for my 20 family members, allowed my drunk friends to continue to party in the lobby until 4am, had a nice present waiting for us in our room, notified us as soon as more rooms were available for the guests (the hotel was originally all booked, but thanks to Diahna, we were able to have all of our guests stay!) and gave me free tea in the morning (hey, it's the small stuff!) The venue itself is beautiful and the staff is so helpful. Amber is a ROCKSTAR and is truly the best wedding coordinator out there. There is not one thing we would complain about or have done differently. We checked out many venues and The Baronette was by FAR the best one. We are so thankful for the staff - they really helped make our wedding the best day of our lives. Thank you to all!!!!! PS. The rooms/suites are awesome, beds are super comfy, and most importantly, clean :)

Stayed here last week and enjoyed my stay. The only tip I would have is if you are staying on Sunday night, and come to the hotel after 10pm, room service closes then, so better to get food ahead of time. I did have the breakfast buffet style and was just okay, so with that said next time I would have opted for room service.

I love the Baronette - love, love, love, love, LOVE! It is my mission to stay here every time I travel to the Detroit area whether its for business or pleasure. This is a full service Marriot with a Courtyard price, or better, (at least every time I've stayed). My most recent stay had a room rate of $109 - rock bottom goodness! If you are a statused Marriott Rewards Member you may get some other perks thrown at you during check-in such as complimentary appetizers in the restaurant or a credit towards breakfast or your internet gratis (although even if not, its a paltry $5.99 which is crazy cheap for a hotel of this caliber). Recently renovated, the look and style of the overall hotel is modern but still warm and functional. The lobby is gorgeous, with a huge double-sided fireplace and numerous seating areas that will suit you regardless of whether you are working, reading, or chatting with friends or colleagues over a glass of vino. Rooms are spacious and also recently updated. The beds here are really comfortable! I don't know what it is about white cotton hotel duvets (Well, ok I do know what it is - THEY'RE SOOOOO FLUFFFY!!!!!) but I seriously just love rolling around in them and hearing that soft, crinkling sound. Bathrooms are modern with glass shower doors and one of those big raindisc-type shower heads. Lighting in here is superb and as a woman who wears makeup, I really, really appreciate this. The hotel restaurant and bar, Toasted Oak is awesome. While I didn't get to eat here on this trip, I did spend some time in the bar and that was a super nice experience. There is nothing quite like a few glasses of wine in the late afternoon when you have the bar to yourself and there's only the occasional hum of the bartender in the background and the silent flicker of ESPN on the tvs. The atmosphere they've created in here is very cool - it channels something akin to the Oakville Grocery Store in Napa with a its selection of cheeses, olives, gourmet meats and bottles of wine in a cozy setting. Ah, I just want to go back right now! Service - outstanding! All of it. From check-in, to bar service to accomodation of my request for a late check-out and even bar service provided in the lobby where I was working, it was just top-notch and all with a smile. While I could go on and on with good things I do have 2 small items that I must mention for the benefit of the management - whom I have no doubt will address: 1) - Housekeeping needs to do a more thorough job of sweeping / mopping the bathroom. Mine had more than a few hairs on the floor that definitely did not belong to me. And we all know that if there's anyplace you don't want to find hair that isn't yours, its the kitchen and the backroom. Creepers. 2) - Gnats. There was a small flock of gnats in the bar the day I was there. It was a detraction from my otherwise perfectly spent 3 hours. No one wants fruit flies flying around their pinot - please assign someone to chase these little buggers down with a dirt devil and exit them stage left asap. That aside, I still LOVE the Baronette and will be back soon.

We'd been coming here for more than15 years with much satisfaction. Marriott bought it and converted to a Renaissance hotel. It is very stylish...in the lobby (which is often blocked off for weddings, corporate functions, etc.). The rooms are actually a bit less accommodating. Used to be a table with chairs, to eat or work at. Now only a chaise. Where do you eat your room service? Use the bed as a table! Third floor costs extra, but is no different from first or second, except you need a special key to get on it. Exactly the same room! Asked the manager about this once and hesaid there is a food credit and "many snacks" Included. Not in this room. As Marriott Gold Elite, I'm privileged to go to the third floor, but no credit, no snacks. Same room others get, but one floor higher. Any other Marriott we've been to, there is an upgrade to at least a suite. Good location; right by Twelve Oaks Mall; but definitely not a hotel for Marriott Elite members. Drive to Troy. Restaurant is also generally overcrowded and over priced. (We booked a stay and eat package a few months ago. Couldnt get into the restaurant. We used our food credit for hamburgers in our room!) Used to be a star in Novi's crown. Wonderful place to stay. Now, less than fine. Stayed again. Feeling really good about the experience, then...after coming back to our room after 8 hours and ready for "whatever" we find that housekeeping has skipped our room. Granted they fixed it up within the hour, but really!!!,

Great find! This place is really nice. Apparently they recently underwent a big renovation and it shows. The lobby is very well done with a large sitting area and fireplace, couches, etc. Rooms are spacious and nicely appointed with flat screens and lots of outlets. Bathroom has clean sliding glass doors - a million times better than curtains. Based on price point, this was a very very good value. Couple of opportunities for the property: - the floor lights at the check in counter must go - they are blinding (this can't be the first time this has been noticed). - Coffee in the morning needs to be just a little more accessible than asking the hostess in the restaurant for a cup to go. + Big plus for environmentally friendly (carton not plastic) bottled water!
