Took an out of town guest here for dinner. I raved about the experience I had on a previous trip and was extremely let down. The burgers were very greasy and the service was mediocre at best.

The turkey burger was delicious. I also had the sweet potato chips, great idea but I'm not a fan. I'd rather have sweet potato fries. If you don't like the choices they have to offer, no problem, you can build your own burger. Friendly staff. I'd go back.

I'm in love with the build your own! This is the first place I've been able to get a great tasting turkey burger! Have been multiple times now... Love that I can get exactly what I want burger wise. Considering I almost always go with a build your own I'm surprised that not once has anything ever been wrong with my order. I've been to plenty of restaurants where it's difficult to leave off a single item like a tomato, but each time no matter how many or how few items I add to my burger it's perfect each time! The fries are great as well.... Love adding spices or dipping sauces! Staff has always been great... Atmosphere has always been great.... Food has always been great.... Have I mentioned the tootsie rolls that come with the check!

I have heard a lot about Bagger Dave's burgers so I was interested when I got to stop in with some friends who were in town. They had been to BD before so I got some good recommendations. I had the Bacon BBQ Burger - tasty... no extreme shock and awe over fabulosity, but all in all a tasty burger. The french fries I was permitted to steal off a friend's plate were very tasty, but I enjoyed my option of sweet potato chips. I'm a sucker for sweet potato anything ...especially fried. What I am surprised to say is that I was probably most pleased with my honey mustard chip dip - quite delicious. I find it odd that I was perhaps most excited about a sauce, but it was pretty good.... Dependable place for a good bite to eat. I'll be back.

Ugh. Trying to think of something good to say? Got it: The wait staff is terrrific as is the manager! Fries tasted as if they were fried, cooled and then fried again in old, yucky grease (of course, some people prefer their fries this way, not me). The burger meat just tasted bad--not fresh at all. It tasted as if it was frozen and they had put it directly on the grill. Can get better at Burger King.

This place was really good. I some kind of burger with BBQ sauce, I think my husband got some kind of garbage burger- both were fantastic. Sweet potato fries are good too.

I had the turkey chipotle burger which was much much better than I expected. The turkey burger was moist and flavorful. My husband ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger which was tasty too. The only reason I didn't give it any more stars is because it's expensive. The burgers were pretty small and did not come with fries or a salad or anything. All that had to be ordered separately. We did order the sweet potato fries and they were delicious.

Good burger. Fries are awesome. Good place.

Perhaps an abomination to the hamburger. Beware of meat quality when it is noted "all hamburgers cooked medium well". I made the mistake of ordering a tuna melt. The tuna was cheap dark type, and the tomatoes and lettuce were inexcusably awful. You could not bite through the tomato. Lastly, the brandless soda was just plain bad. Obviously, the creator of this concept never ate here. Lucky them.

The macaroni & cheese was amazing as were the sweet potato chips that came with a cinnamon honey. The beer is pricey but it isn't too much different than most restaurants nowadays. The dining environment was very casual. It remind me of potbellys. Would recommend.

Horrible service and over priced considering the lack of quality. I was in here for two hours for a burger fries and a coke it took twenty min just to get my order taken by an obviously displaced or possibly high server my food came out fast the fries were okay but my medium burger was over cooked and dry most likely pre-cooked given how fast it left the kitchen and i'm not sure what was up with the cola maybe it was some sort of new wave herbal cola even though it just could have been off considering how watered down it was but the kicker was the 45 min it took to get my bill and have it cashed out so I could leave. overall very disappointing.

Bagger Dave's has great burgers, excellent fries, and is in a good location close to shopping and many office buildings. They have a very large dining room, including a small bar, and also have limited outdoor seating. You can custom make your burger with a huge variety of toppings, or pick from one of the house burgers. They have turkey burgers as well. The burgers are juicy, full of flavor, just great! I won't put them quite as good as Five Guys, but damn close. The service is hit or miss. It seems to be very slow when the restaurant is busy, and the servers aren't the friendliest. Prices are reasonable, figure about $8 for burger & fries. Overall Bagger Dave's is great if you're craving a burger and fries!

How can you make me write down my own order, check off everything I want, and then, screw up my burger anyway!! This was a huge disappointment. Then when I wanted some utensils (i.e. a fork),. it was liked I just asked them to go make me a fork and bring it out still hot... Definitely not worth the hassle... too bad.

decents burgers, not the best I've ever had (like Vortex in Atlanta,Ga) but not the worst. Liked that you could create your own cheese fries and loved the local ciders!

Not bad for a chain-ish place. We were at the convention center nearby and wanted to stop for an easy lunch. Service was very attentive. I didn't feel like a burger, so I got the nachos. They were pretty good, but the chipotle sauce was a lot spicier than expected...had a little case of the heartburn later:\ Hubs had a burger and some of the loaded fries. The fries were good, but a little much. Not bad, not outstanding. I don't love creating my own food at a restaurant, though I'm sure picky people would appreciate it. Might go back if I wanted a quick and easy meal, but wouldn't go out of my way.

I am a West Coast implant. I don't really belong here in Michigan, but I do what I can. And what I can do, is build a burger at Bagger Dave's that is similar to the In-N-Out burger that I crave. So similar that when I close my eyes while eating the deliciousness, I can hear the Pacific. I liked the build your own burger option. I really liked the sweet potato chips with the honey cinnamon dipping. Some of the chips could have been crispier, but oh well! Oh! And free tootsie rolls with the check - Yes Please! I am a fan!

I thought that it was ok. I have had better burgers for cheaper. The staff was really nice and out going! I just don't think that the food is good enough to go back. Novi has a lot of restaurants and they need to step it way up before I go back.

An awesome burger joint with a great beer selection. I really enjoyed the Train-wreck Ale from Mt. Pleasant Brewing Company. I'll admit that the service wasn't all that great but the food made up for it for sure. The sweet potato chips with the cinnamon honey sauce was very good even if it's on the sweet side. My wife tried the craft soda sampler and really enjoyed all of them. We'll go back for sure.

Bagger Dave's can make a good burger. Quite often, they do. Sometimes, though, it seems that they're either training the kitchen staff, or should be. The fries can range from perfection to soggy and limp, as can the chips. Overall, the food is usually good. Sometimes it's fantastic. It's just not consistent. That said, the waitstaff is very friendly without being obtrusive. The train around the top of the restaurant thrills my kids, The Boy approves of their kids' grilled cheese sandwich, and their online ordering for carryout makes it very convenient when we need a quick dinner. It's worth noting that chips or fries only come with kids' meals, so if you want them with yours, make sure you order them. Also, if you're not in the mood for a burger, the Peanut Butter, Honey & Banana sandwich is quite good, and harder to mess up. Overall, I have to say I'm a fan of the restaurant in spite of the variations in quality. It could easily become a must-eat place if the kitchen could produce food that consistently reflected the better meals I've eaten there.

There's no rating below a single star here on Yelp, so readers, please subtract two from mine here. Let's keep it short: The worst hamburger I've EVER had after the shortest pours I've ever seen. Absolutely laughably bad. Go anywhere else. Soggy potato chips in greasy bags on the tables -- I believe intended as starters or something. Actually just garbage. Hamburgers are crappy thin little gray wafers and that's all they seem to offer other than ice cubes in a short little glass. Truly the worst restaurant I've had the misfortune of patronizing. Do yourself a favor and don't pay any attention to anyone claiming there's anything of value here other than parking places.

my sis-in-law wanted to take my wife and I out for some good burgers. I had read reviews for Bagger Daves so I suggested we go give it a shot. We walked in and snagged take out menus. And then we stood and decided what we were interested. Then we went to the counter and waited... and waited... and waited... It was only 430pm and there were maybe only a dozen other customers there. However Two employees were standing in an alcove chatting at each other. One looked over at us... We were clearly at the counter and clearly ready to order. But these two employees continued to stand there, talking and periodically look over at us. I finally said out loud... "So I assume the standard is How may we ignore you today." Still even with my sarcasm dripping no one budged. I was getting pissed off. Another employee walked by and did not look at us. Finally the ladies decided ya know theres other places we can go instead. I was slightly bummed as I had my mind set on eating there. But it was clear that Bagger Daves employees do not give a rats ass about people who are trying to get Take out... It bugged me even more because We stood there and SAW them look our way several times!!! What The Flying Fart is this shit? Where the hell is the service? If I could they would get a fat ZERO stars today. I still would like to eat there someday. But I will purposely Not Visit the Novi Location from now on.

First things first, if you're ever near this area and want a burger, you should skip fastfood and try this place. I'm now a regular there I guess you could say and for a very good reason. To make things short and sweet, the food is so great, and well priced. The service is a little sluggish sometimes but I bet that has to do with the making of the fresh food, otherwise it's perfection. The atmosphere, perfectly casual and great for a little get together for good food, good fun, and good friends.

I came here on a whim, The food was pretty good, the food was fresh, they even serve a healthier Turkey Burger, if that's your thing. you can even build a burger, which is kind of neat. I like that they used a wheat bun, which is healthier that your standard fast carb white variety. They did partially mess the order up, we were under the impression they came with chips, they did not, I ordered a half salad they game me a whole salad, I ordered a honey mustard with the salad, they gave me some sort of vinaigrette. Next time I'll know what to order, usually when you order a burger you get the obligatory question, " want' fry's with that" now we know to ask for it.

I'm being generous with 2 stars. Went in on a Sunday to grab some dinner with coworkers. We were recommended Bagger Dave's by one of the staff members of the hotel we were staying at. She told us the food was good but warned that the service was awful. The food was average and the service was just that - awful. To be clear our server, Karl J. was not awful by any means. He was mostly attentive, friendly, talkative, and had pretty good knowledge of the menu. We arrived around 9 (they close at 10) sat down, ordered a round of drinks and then our food. After some chatting and waiting, another round of drinks and more waiting we still hadn't gotten our food. During that time I noticed another table of one less then us (we had 5, they had 4) had sat down after us, ordered, gotten their food, eaten, and paid the bill all before we had gotten our food. When we finally got our food, it was average at best. The regular burger is 2 1/4 in patties with cheese in the middle. Similar to a Five Guys burger. Maybe it's just me but when I go to a sit down place to get a burger, I'm expecting some actual meat and to have to pick a temperature for it to be cook to, not just a super fancy big mac. My sweet potato chips were cold. Some at our table had ordered fries that never appeared. In fact the server brought the check before the fries, then mentioned that the fries were comped. I would think that you wouldn't charge someone for something they haven't even received. The fries did come eventually and they were pretty good but nothing at the restaurant was worth the hassle and the wait. Their saving grace is the great local beer selection. Since there was hardly anyone else in the place, there was no reason it should have taken so long (almost an hour). Whatever miscommunications they have between staff are hurting business. And if they are taking a page out of the Dick's Last Resort marketing playbook then they are going to have to own the bad service because at this rate it's just going to aggravate people and make then never come back.

First off I must say the food was great !! You get huge portions for not a lot of money. You can select from signature items or the have a worksheet to build your own burgers and fries. the decor is great, it is a bunch of old historic pictures of novi, plus it has a toy train circling the restaurant. Cons: the service is pretty slow and the tables are way to close together. you could tell the wait staff was having trouble getting between the tables. I believe this restaurant would improve greatly if they gave up a couple of tables, so the wait staff could move around easier with out having to squeeze between the tables and bumping into all the customers as the go by.

In my opinion this place can be an alternate to Red Coat Tavern. The alternate isn't as perfect but will definitely satisfy your burger craving especially when the wait is so long at Red Coat , you have to endure it in a cramped dark waiting room! You can opt for an already built burger on the menu or you can fill out a form and make your own which I went for! I got a single burger instead of a double with pepper jack, chipotle sauce (yummy and spicy), lettuce , tomato, grilled onion and jalapenos! The last 4 ingredients were free among grilled shrooms and such! They also have a full bar here so don't be shy! I will definitely be coming back here!

We were here on a saturday night. The place was packed but the wait wasn't too bad. First thing i notice was the hostess and wait staff were not particularly friendly. Its pretty loud in there but you will still be able to hold a conversation at the table. The decor is nice and there are quite a few tvs around. The menu is not at all impressive. Basically its just fries, salad, burgers and sandwiches. You have an option to build your own burgers where you get to chose toppings, sauces, condiments, buns and etc. Nothing about the custom burger really stands out. I also tried a train wreck burger. Now ive always wanted my burger to have an egg in it and the train wreck really hit it out of the park for me. The sweet potato chips are good but half of it was soggy. I tried the honey cinnamon dip and thought the combination of two made it all too sweet. The regular fries was overcooked and burnt but i still ate it after dipping it in the santa fe sauce. With the average burgers, sloppy service, lack of option for sides and slightly overpriced items, i feel a 3 star rating is as good as it get. They do have quit a selections of michigan brewed beer. I might come back another time to check it out .

THIS IS A GREAT BURGER!! First time there, and it was fantastic!! The menu is straightforward: burgers, fries, salads and a few desserts. They make everything but the desserts in house and its obvious they do. Nothing is ever frozen, so its all fresh. Our waiter was Justin, he was the best server I have had in awhile!! He had a great personality, was very accomodating and I never had to ask for anything, he just knew what we needed. There were 3 of us, all adults. The noise level is on the loud side, but you can still talk. We were there last friday at 530, and we were surprised it was so empty. I didnt realize it was lent, so those that follow lent can not eat there. They seem kid friendly but I did not have the kids with us. My girlfriend liked it so much she went back the next day to a different location!! I wish we had one on my side of town. I would definitely go back!!

I am a fan of cheeseburgers whether they're gourmet or from McDonald's, but... WOW. Bagger Dave's burgers are delicious! Definitely at the top of my favorites list. I've admittedly gotten the same thing every time I've been there (The Great American Cheeseburger) and it has been consistent in quality. However, if you like more variety in your burgers, they have a custom "build a burger" sheet where you can assemble all manner of unique creations. I've never had to wait for a seat, but there are always at least a handful of other customers there. It was pretty loud the first time I was there (close to when they opened) but it has been quieter in the handful of times I have been there since. The service is decent, and they give you a tootsie roll with your affordable bill- score! I recommend them to anyone who enjoys a good burger.

We wanted breakfast one Saturday, to our amazement this place was open early. I think it was like 9AM or something. Anyway, burgers are great. Waitstaff amazing, courteous, and fast. We wanted to sit outside and it was pretty chilly at the time. But they still accommodated us. The founders beer they have on hand is a terrific match for the style of burgers they make.

Ok...We tried this for dinner over the holiday weekend. Here's how it stacked up. Atmosphere was good. There was plenty to watch with flat screen tv's hung all over the place and the model train circling the room. Service was good. The waitress did a fine job of explaining the burgers and the custom ordering process. She got our order correct and it came in a reasonable amount of time. She checked back at just the right times to refill drinks and make sure we didn't need anything else. The food was just ok. We both had turkey burgers. They were both good. They were juicy, tender, and not overcooked like seems to happen so often with a turkey burger. The sides were disappointing. I got the fries. They were plentiful but tasted like they were cooked in stale or burnt oil. My wife got the sweet potato chips. While these were definitely different, they were a little too crisp for our taste. All in all, the whole experience was ok but it didn't leave us needing to come back soon.

I thought I read a review of the weird booths at Bagger Dave's....maybe that was another location. Anyway, the booths are weird. There is a HUGE gap between the table and the booth, with no way to adjust it. You have to kind of lean WAAAAYYYY over to eat your food. If I go again, I will ask for a table for sure. The build your own burger was ok, as were the fries. The ranch was good. The service was not so good. It was lunch time and our server blatantly avoided our gaze so she could get her side work done. Dave had to track her down to get the bill, and then again to pay the bill. She probably should have been able to tell we were on lunch break. I would go again as the food was pretty good and the atmosphere was ok.

I had a working lunch at Bagger Dave's on a visit to Novi. Despite having lunch paid for and pretty good food, overall I was underwhelmed. It's your standard bar / grill sort of place, trying to throw in some kind of Michigan flair. We sat in the bar area, which was way too loud for trying to talk business. The spicy turkey burger was good, but not spicy at all. The honey mustard dip is very honeyish in taste and consistency. I'd go again to dip the sweet potato chips in it.

I went with my mom when I was in town once since she raved about it. It was a perfectly decent dining experience but I wasn't amazed. The biggest sticking point of this place is that they make all their burgers medium well. I asked for medium rare and they said they don't do that. How can you portray yourself as a deluxe burger place if you refuse to cook a burger properly. The I ended up having was fine but would have been so much better if cooked as I liked. Are they trying to mask something by cooking the meat so much? They had a good selection of beers and some other items to eat. I did like it was a casual place but not too casual. Very family friendly.

I really liked my lunch at Bagger Dave's in fact I liked it enough to send a coworker there. Brenda is spot on about the service. If I'm starting at you oh waitress of mine, it isn't because I think you're hot. It is one step shy of me walking over to get you while you hide behind the bar. I had to do just that and I proceeded to stay there at the bar while she ran my card. No one was dining at the bar so I'm comfortable calling bad service on this one. OK phew that said, I loved my burger, and I love the build your own burger concept. I think it's awesome to have a nice selection of patties to pick from too. They only cook medium well but the burger wasn't dry so Ill forgive the transgression of not being medium rare. The topping selection is good I had a properly spicy burger with jalapeno, fried mushrooms, and fried onions. You can even check out the menu online. Atmosphere and decor was nice and the booths were great, I'm a tall guy so I kinda liked the booth, Brenda didn't. So there you go huge points for good burgers, minus a few for service, try the fries.

Pricey. I have carried out frequently and the place is full of mistakes. I got tired of getting to go orders that were wrong with average - at best - quality. They're cashing in on the upper class population that surrounds Novi. Don't bother. For premium burgers, 5 guys or burgerfi are way better.

If you are looking for a burger joint that performs well with online ordering, forget this place. Two of our party did the create your own burger thing. One received an undercooked burger, and the other was missing toppings. We were missing an order of fries, and the real kicker was how the Train Wreck burger arrived. The order was for a gluten free TW burger, so there was no bun as ordered. But neither were there any BURGER PATTIES!!! Just a pile of toppings drenched in sauce with a measly fried egg on top. Never going here again.

  • eddie P.

You sort of expect to be better just because it looks like it is a proper burger joint. But it is the other way around. Of course we ordered whatever they were famous for.. the built your own burger. It wasn't that great... I guess I would of guess when a double was only 4 dollars, can't be that much meat but I was optimistic. The patty was as thick as a Wendys single burger, sure you get to choose your own toppings and what not.. but come on.. hmm.. The fries weren't bad, I like it alot more then fast food fries. Anyways, it just didn't hit the spot nor it leave a good impression... Tried it just to tried it.. just dont expect it too much.

Hands-down the best burgers in the Detroit area. My wife had a build-your-own burger with fries. I had a Blues Burger with sweet potato chips. My he chips are outstanding and the burger was fantastic. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Service was perfect, not too pushy or overly friendly, just right. Thanks for a great lunch.

I guess this is it for me and Dave. When the first location opened in Berkley it was immediately a hit with me and the fellas. Fresh burgers and toppings, craft brews and great fries. I've continued to frequent over the years, hitting this location in Novi and even one near Grand Rapids. I'm glad they've been able to expand, grow and bring some tasty stuff to new folks. But as things go, when you grow, you tend to lose your way. I've noticed the menu change a bit and quality and consistency struggle. I would go so far to say that much isn't done in-house anymore. I think they are getting much of their supply and even meat from Gordon's Food Service; its that prepackaged and bland. This place use to be all about fresh and local. That's not the case anymore. I can't tell much difference between here and any other burger bar. Other than at least a local burger bar makes their own hand rolled Patty. Sorry, but you can't hang your hat on a few local beers anymore. Your food has to be good too! Hope your experience is better than mine.

We have a young family member who was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease. During my search for gluten free restaurants, I discovered that Bagger Dave's provided a gluten free menu. We were thrilled. Our nine-year-old has been pretty bummed out about giving up cheese burgers. We came into the restaurant and were sat rather quickly. We order some waters and the mix and match fries. We were incredibly disappointed to discover that gluten free simply met the burger on plate, no substitution for the bun. We were really hoping for a gluten free bun. That being said, my son's burger on plate was over cooked and dry. The same for my six-year-old's regular cheese burger. The edges were burnt and he had trouble biting into it. The service was okay. What was most disappointing was that several table that were seated after us (and near us) were given teaser menus for some changes that were coming up. We were not given this special menu when we sat down. Perhaps this special menu was for selected guests only. I don't know, were we not offered one. Lastly, they keep the restaurant very cold. I would recommend a sweater or jacket in the summer. The quality and preparation of the food doesn't match the cost.

Have visited twice while in the area for work. Good burger, you can't go wrong by stopping in if your in the mood for a hamburger. Many varieties and you can build your own burger too.

It has been many years since visiting this location. On a rainy Sunday evening, the restaurant was surprisingly full - mostly of families. The restaurant played homage to the area with vintage pictures of Novi throughout. At the back was a mural of the Novi police department. Along the side was a large picture of the Central Michigan train and its workers. I love that. And I loved the toy train that chugged along the perimeter of the restaurant, complete with railway crossings at the corners. There are many burger options, including one to build your own. Half the burger menu included chicken and turkey, so there was an abundance of choice for all diners. I went with the Train Wreck burger which could be a wreck if not careful with all the toppings: mushrooms, fries, sautéed onions, lettuce, cheddar cheese, fried egg on a substantial 8 oz fresh patty. It was completely filling, fairly priced, and creative but under-seasoned despite all the ingredients. The fries were perfect: crispy on the outside and tender with each bite. It came with a choice of a sauce from the large selection available: buffalo garlic, ranch, barbecue, Caesar, and honey-sea salt-cinnamon, to name a few. I went with the latter for a different take on fries and I am glad I did. I also appreciated how Bagger Dave's, a Michigan company, integrated technology it is overall customer experience. Customers could select the music played at the restaurant by making a selection over the Rockbot app, a social jukebox app. As well, diners could pay for their meal by scanning the QR code on their receipt, selecting a tip amount, entering a credit card number, and signing the receipt. A bit clunky, for sure, but I appreciate the experimentation with mobile payments.

To be fair, had to update my review, based upon this last experience. Our burgers were very good! Cooked to our requests and delicious. They were juicy and they had a great flavor. The fries were good, but I think I got the last of a batch, because they were mostly tiny pieces. The service, this time, was spot-on!! Very attentive, enthusiastic and friendly! I hope this will be a consistent change for this location. I will give it another visit soon!

This review is from a visit about a year ago. I have not been back since. Both my and my wifes hamburgers were bloody and raw in the middle. I took a big bite and couldnt figure out why it tasted weird until I looked down and saw raw beef. No exaggeration, it was raw cold meat. The waiter was some what apologetic. He claimed they changed the way the cook and have not figured it out yet. They did bring us new ones that were OK at best. The manager never came over to explain and the waiter seemed almost annoyed he needed to bring us new food. No discount, not coupons, nothing. I emailed Bagger Dave's and they never responded. I wouldnt go to this location. Also, we used to go about once a month and it was getting increasing worse over that time. They were always out of beers.

The staff was very friendly. --Especially considering they were forced to labor and serve us on Labor Day! My Bagger Dave's House Salad was excellent. (Though be warned, it has the less-than-helpful addition of potato chips IN the salad unless you ask that they are served on the side or removed.) It's a comfortable enough place to go for burger fare, and they have some options for the less burger inclined.

A custom burger... sweet potato chips... and a craft Michigan brew? I don't know what else you could possibly want. This place has slowly been growing on my list of places to continue to go to when you are looking for something good. Their burgers that are pre-selected are pretty tasty, but if you want your own flavor, go ahead and make your own burger. You'll leave there happy that you did!

Love this place! The burgers are reasonably priced even the create your own ones. Figure 7 bucks or so. They get you with the "extras", which would be fries etc. They don't necessarily control that at this specific location. Our waitress had good beer recommendations for us and it was very prompt. I want to go back right now!

Ordered Dave's Signature Italian Beef for pick up, as I have been craving one like crazy. Ordered it dipped with hot giardiera without cheese. Absolutely delicious, I'm sure it was made with unicorn meat.

Woohoo, as good as it gets for a local chain. Pros: Completely build a party on your burger with the create your own option. Fries are great. Delicious sauces. Macaroni and cheese is great (when it's on), customizable menu, inexpensive, good beer selection. Cons: I've found the mac and cheese to be inconsistent. Service here is inconsistent. I could see how this could be a problem if it was busy. The set up of this menu is designed specifically for me. I can go wild adding toppings and they are inexpensive. I like how they put an emphasis on local. There is a lot of local beer and their "pop" is from a local company as well... and it is delicious. I wouldn't go into this burger thinking its the best quality burger ever. If you like a plain burger, it may disappoint you. I wouldn't know because I basically decorate that thing like it is a christmas tree. It quickly turns into a delicious fork and knife glutinous bliss.

Went there for lunch. two of us walked in and looked around there were several open tables and Booths. The hostest looked at her computer and said 5 to 10 minute wait. After about 8 minutes of just standing there she seated us at a booth that was open when we arrived. Service was ok. I had the american cheeseburger it was good, but way over dressed and quite sloppy. My Brother in law had a saracha burger and a diet coke and I had Ice tea, we both had fries The bill for the two of us with the tip was approximately $35.00, not much of a value in my book. In the future I will bypass Bagger Dave's.

Burger bun fell apart after a couple of bites. I had to finish the burger with fork and knife. Paddy was a somewhat tasteless. Fries were over fried cause even though they were thick, they were transparent and very greasy. Freshness of the "hand cut" fries was gone. I suppose the only good thing about the burger was the plentiful topping options.

I haven't been back to Bagger Dave's in a while. They do a decent job, with an increase focus, it seems, on local Michigan beers. It was a moderately busy, not overly, but its a noisy place, lots of things going on, including a train set in the ceiling. It's basically a build you own burger place, either go with one of their "special sandwiches" or create your own, protein, bun type and toppings and then if want fries or chips. We both went with turkey burgers and various topping and I really like a fried egg and we split an order of fries. It took about twenty minutes to get the burgers, which seem to be a little long. The burgers were good, but the turkey patty were small, about half the size of the bun. Its tough to rate the burgers poorly that you create, the ultimate have it your way, so they were fine. The fires were well cook, hand cut and crunchy. And I like they have Malt vinegar on every table. So a decent burger, service is a little slow, maybe a little expensive, but good enough.

Burger was moist and juicy. Finally received one medium on my trip. Well seasoned. So good I am considering bulimia to make room for another burger. The Santa Fe sauce on the fries was a wonderful stitch of spice to cut my burger. Oberon on tap. Damn shame I have to drive to the hotel. I may have to move back to Novi for this place! Bartender even brought a ton of napkins to keep my hands clean. Bigger Tip!

I had a craving for burgers one evening and convinced the hubby to give Bagger Dave's a try. This was a first visit for both of us. The service was great and our server was very nice and knowledgeable. We both chose to fill out the form on the table and craft our own burgers. I chose the single turkey with the buffalo garlic and a myriad of toppings. Needless to say the buffalo sauce overpowered everything on my burger. It was drowned in it!! I only ate a few bites and luckily I ordered a side of mac-n-cheese which satiated my hunger. The hubby got a beef burger which he really enjoyed and I had a bite of his with the Chipotle Sauce and it was pretty good Next time, I will definitely try the Chipotle Sauce because the Buffalo Garlic was just YUCK!!

My huge issue with this place is that everything is an extra charge. You want cheese? 50 cents. You want fries $5 (these may not be the actual prices but you get the point). My boyfriend had a burger and it was okay. I wasn't in the mood for one so I got the Mac-n-cheese that is denoted on the menu as one of their house favorites and is usually a safe option. I did not like it at all. There was a lot of pepper in it and it had Gouda cheese which I discovered that I do not like. Not a kid friendly meal like most macaroni dishes are. When you pay your bill they give you tootsie rolls. It seems off brand to me so there must be a deeper meaning that I'm missing.

The Santa Fe turkey burger was tasty on its wheat bun, and the fries are fresh cut and crispy with skin on. That's all the good I can say about the place. The waitress had no personality, no people skills at all. The good arrived fast due to the computer system used. The pico de gallo had no cilantro, no flavor! And the chips are not restaurant quality at all, cold and have some shaker flavoring on them that adds no flavor. The guacamole is totally canned with no flavor, just straight canned avacado. Can't speak to their beer.

I've been to a few Bagger Dave's now and this one is my least favorite. Stopped in for a bite on my brother's birthday because he said they were kid friendly for my nephews. The check in gal was super nice and friendly but our waitress pretty inattentive. My burger was just ok. Too thin for my taste, and overcooked (they will only cook medium and I'm a medium rare girl). The sweet potato chips that normally are very good were rubbery and either under or overcooked. I couldn't quite tell. When I asked if they did anything for birthdays, our waitress gave me an odd look like I was some sort of Novi freeloader and said, "no, we don't do that." Skip this place and go to the many many other places nearby that have a better burger.

While I'm not sure about the "legendary" part of Bagger Dave's, they do make a mean turkey burger and they have a gluten free menu, which makes me very happy when I'm on the road. This place gets busy during lunch hours, so service was a little spotty, and slow to bring our drink orders. They were also behind on bussing tables, which made the place seem a little dingy. Fortunately, what they lacked in timeliness, they made up for in attitude. Our server was very sweet, and helpful in navigating the menu. With two - two! - GF beer selections, I opted for the New Grist, a Milwaukee beer that was light and refreshing. The other choice is Redbridge, which is pretty tasty for a Budweiser product. Bagger Dave's also has several local Michigan craft beers on tap. Turkey burgers were $1 off the day we dined, and even though I prefer my burgers made with beef, I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and try something new. I'm glad I did. Bagger Dave's turkey burgers are quite good, even without the bun. I had mine Italian style, which includes fresh basil, mozzarella, and a great balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The sweet potato chips are also GF, and though I wished they'd been a little crispier, I had no trouble devouring them -- with a little help from my coworker.

Attended a Yelp event and I was pretty impressed. Service was excellent, wait staff were attentive and quick. I didn't know this until our visit but they craft their own beverages. Tried the root beer, which was awesome! I think I had at least two. We tried the sweet potato kettle chips and sea salt fries, both were fresh and tasted good, especially with their roster of sauces. All the sauces were great, the honey cinnamon was super tasty, chipotle has some heat, honey mustard was the best I've had (on the sweet side), and the ranch was nice and thick instead of runny. I'd go back just because of the sauces to be honest. We ordered two different turkey burgers and split them so we could try both. Decent burgers, juicy, and made with fresh ingredients. I'm not a huge turkey burger fan myself but these were one of the better ones I've had. On an odd note: My daughter loved their high chairs, I know it's strange to post in a Yelp review but they were much better than the wood ones you see everywhere else. As a parent, these little things become more important.

Stopped in on a rare day off to have a burger with my dad. My dad had a cheese burger and I had the BBQ Sloppy Joes. Service was quick, and the waiter was helpful. The decor is clean and rather straight forward. The fries were very good. My Sloppy Joes were on the smoky side, and entirely too sloppy to stay on a bun. This is a good thing: it was delicious. My dad's burger was quite good, but not the best burger ever had. The Prime Rib mix was not as flavorful or juicy as one would expect. Perhaps we're spoiled by the number of fantastic burgers around here, but this one was just okay. We both had the root beer, which was quite good: not as sweet as the local A&W brand, and not as dry as the stuff on grocery store shelves. Very good stuff. Would rate this 3.5, not 4 stars if allowed. Will probably return.

Our new fave burger joint (just maybe not this location) Food: I went with the BBQ Sloppy Dave/Joe this time around for something new. Its mixture and Santa Fe sauce was very tasty! On the downside, the roll it was served on was not so toasted and might have been a bit stale. My husband loved his custom burger with tons of spicy toppings and cooked to perfection. He couldn't have been happier, which makes my meal more enjoyable too! Sides: The hand cut fries are addicting for sure, my favorite these days. We also tried the smokin hot mac side (1st time at this location) and it was good, just not as generously filled with the "smokin" stuff as the Brighton location made. Perhaps our expectations were a bit higher this time? Drinks: Dave's soda variety is great (made in MI and not Faygo, w00t!) There are happy hour prices but our server wasn't proactive about telling us about them...luckily we asked about them having Oberon with it being Oberon Day so that's how we found out albeit after we ordered non alcoholic drinks at $2.39/each. A pint was $4.50 & $5 so again, a bit steep on the beverage prices. Service: It was OK. He was friendly and all but it was clear we didn't have his undivided attention. We were literally the only ones in the restaurant at 5:45 and a staff meeting was being held in the kitchen/bar area. Being as resourceful as we are we grabbed our own to-go containers since no one was paying attention to us.

We came for lunch this weekend with our kids. We waited around 35 min for our food which sucked but the server was wonderful and very funny. Helped she had kids and knew how mine felt. We had a big table in the back so we were able to let the kids stretch out and she gave them pens and stickers to play with which was nice cause they were getting bored. Food was good, We love the fries!!!! The manager addressed the situatuon and she was very friendly. We will be back!!

Received great service and burgers! The waitress was personable and very attentive with the drinks. A+! The food is flavorful and tasty. I had nachos and asked if the guacamole was worth ordering. Was told it wasn't so I didn't get it. (thanks for the honesty!) The dessert menu could use a bit of reworking as it consists mainly of sweets that someone with decent kitchen experience could prepare at home. They have a selection of floats, but they are typical and exactly what you'd expect. The ambience is perfect for families and people looking for a relaxed and not very trendy place to have dinner. There is even a little train that goes around the ceiling in one area of the restaurant if it is running. I've never had to wait for a table and the facilities are clean!

My wife and I went to Bagger Dave's expecting to be served once we sat down. .instead we waited 10 minutes and watched 3 waiters walk by our table without stopping by to see if we had been waited on. There is no reason to treat customers this way and management should train their people better. .my wife and I will not be coming back. I hope that if anyone working at bagger daves reads this and realizes that you are here for us and without us, You wouldn't have a JOB!

Bagger Dave's is a great place for delicious burgers. I've been here a few times an each time the burger arrived juicy and delicious. The only problem I have is their famous "Sloppy Dave Fries." They're just too addictive! Really what I want is like 1/2 or even 1/3 size order. And of course I always want them loaded, so my wife wants nothing to do with them (sweet potato chips are her thing). But if you've got someone to share them with or you've never tried them, then you need to give them a try. Bagger Dave's also has great fountain drinks. We generally don't order drinks when we go out to save some money, but their root beer is amazing. When you get a refill, ask your server for something new. #goodforgroups 9 visits (Apr. 26, 2014)

We went to BD after going to the Novi Showcase gun show this past Saturday with a few friends. I ordered the build your own with smoked gouda, fried egg, LTP, and a order of fries. Started to eat my burger when I noticed they forgot to put the egg on it. As i was looking for the waiter he arrived with the fried egg which had been fried until the yolk became hard, bleeck. Buns were tasty but wish they would have warmed them or toasted them on the grill first as they were ice cold. Fries were outstanding hot and crispy.

Disorganized. Waiting "15-20 minutes" for at table even though there were 10 tables open all cleaned and ready for a warm butt to sit in. After 20 minutes of waiting, we left and went to red robin down the street. Note to owner, not cool to have high school kids running the show.

Food is very pricey for just burgers, fries are awful, very soggy and salty, burgers are edible but nothing memorable, for the price you would be much better to go to red coat tavern or red robin

Great service, good burgers and beer. A bit of an odd setup at the novi location, and I find the tvs distracting. But, had one if the best turkey burgers I've ever had and I do like the local beer options.

Went here for lunch the other day around 11:30am. We were one of only two groups of people in the restaurant when we arrived. Food took an exceptionally long time to come out after we ordered, about 35 minutes. I ordered my burger medium. When I received the meal, the burger was cooked almost to the point of being burnt, way past medium. In turn, this made the meat extremely dry, so I requested a side of bbq sauce, which I received about 7 minutes later. The food was mediocre at best. The service was some of the worst I've had anywhere. Skip this place if you... Scratch that..skip this place period.

You need to have a different server do the training. After having to remind my waiter to bring the sauce for my burger he never returned to ask me how everything was and allowed my water glass to become empty. Mike is going to need a refresher course on how to properly serve a customer.

Amazing burger, highly recommend. I was a little skeptical given all the negative reviews I've seen but this place blew away my expectations. I created my own brioche burger and added a bunch of toppings and sauces from their extensive list. The toppings were fresh , the patty was juicy, the sauces were flavorful, and everything was delicious. They also had an extensive menu of local craft beers (also delicious, needless to say), another big plus. On top of that, the cost was very reasonable considering what you get (worked out to ~$15/person for a massive, fully loaded burger and craft beer). The ambiance is casual and laidback, with plenty of TVs for sports viewing. Service was decent, could have been slightly quicker, but did not detract from the experience enough to warrant anything other than 5 stars. I'd highly recommend Bagger Dave's for a reasonably priced, delicious burger and beer and will definitely be back.

This was my second visit to Bagger Dave's. The first was around the time when they opened, which was a fairly "meh" experience. This recent visit was one with others from Yelp, to enjoy an evening of turkey burgers and hand-crafted pop. I'm going to skip over service, because it was excellent... but given the circumstances, I can't say what we experienced was typical. At least one person theorized that our waitstaff were actually managers. As for the turkey burger, I'll start by saying I despise ground turkey. I don't know if it's consistency, or the flavor, but ugh. However, it had been some time since I had been exposed to it, and I thought I'd give it a shot. It was, in a word: wonderful. I don't know what they do, or how they do it, but it had the proper consistency and grease I'd expect from beef. And the flavor was so un-turkey! Corny as it sounds, I'd go back and get one again, hands down. The pop... meh. I tried the root beer, cherry cream, and cola. The root beer was slightly reminiscent of root beer flavored candy, and was surprisingly pleasant with the New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon I had on the side. Weird combo, I know, but try it. Cherry cream was a big shot of cherry, but really, really sweet. Almost painfully so. The cola was all around awful, and had me wondering if I had mistakenly been given diet. Why the loss of a star? Two things: 1) While the food is good, it's also expensive for what you get. Unless you're going with a group of burger aficionados, the experience isn't going to have the same universal appeal that you'd find at Red Robin, TGI Fridays, Library Pub, or Famous Dave's, all a stone's throw away -- in fact, all in the Town Center, except for the Library. 2) One toilet in the men's room. C'mon. You're selling grease bombs and liquor, and you've got one toilet? Fortunately, I didn't need it. Unfortunately for whoever might have, it appeared less than sanitary.

Dagger Bave's. I call it this because I want to put a dagger in my heart, burger time. Good burger when hungry. Really good new french fries. I still feel funny ordering my own food on an order form. I feel like I am doing the work of the servers. Should I leave myself a tip or should I leave less of a tip? Service was good. Better than the usual chain restaurant. The train will drive you crazy unless you have kids to be kept busy.

The Mac & Cheese sandwich is awesome. You heard me: Mac. And Cheese. SANDWICH. Do it. However, do NOT, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, get the "tomato basil soup" that it is offered with. Why? Because it isn't soup - a bowl of what appears to be thick and chunky Ragu spaghetti sauce with some cheese sprinkled on top shows up at your table. Now, the good news is that when I asked the waitress "Okay...look...I don't want to be rude, but did someone screw up and accidentally do up a bowl of chunky tomato sauce instead of soup?" ...she laughed, rolled her eyes, and said "Yeah...that's really *not* a favorite item among customers here, sorry I didn't warn you...I'll have the manager take it off the bill. You want fries or anything else as a side to go with it instead?" Good for her, good for the manager, up yours Bagger Dave's corporate for cramming a nasty concoction down your franchise's throats and forcing them to actually serve that glop to people. Blecch. However, all said and done, great experience. Loved the sandwich, enjoyed the fries, and nobody cared that we sat there for two hours chatting about business (granted, it wasn't all that crowded, and we kept ordering bits and bites here and there), so I'd go back.

Went here tonight for the first time, for a Yelp event. Great service and interesting atmosphere. They do a happy hour and also late-night happy hour, btw, with $1 off all beers. In our dinner we got a turkey burger, fries and sweet potato chips, and their craft soda. I'm a big cream soda fan but I started off with the black cherry, which was just okay, and then later switched to the orange cream, which was pretty good. I did the "make your own" burger option but basically got their Tuscan burger (mozzarella cheese, vinaigrette sauce I think, basil) with mushrooms minus the lettuce and onion. It was like two small turkey patties combined into one with the cheese and was very good. I also dipped the sweet potato chips into the cinnamon/honey mixture that I had read about in reviews, and that was delicious - more like a dessert. I will be back to Bagger Dave's again, most likely the Bloomfield Hills one though since Novi is a bit of a drive for me now. It's a little pricey (turkey burger was like $6.50 and then you add another $2.50 for an individual french fry order, if you'd like) but the food was good.

Burgers are my favorite food and when bagger Daves opened in my town i was very excited. Im a huge craft beer fan as well so from what ive heard this could be my new favorite place to eat. Then i went. Beer selection was very poor. Better choices and more variety at the applebees down the road lol. Fortunately there was one beer i liked on the very short beer menu. I told myself no big deal because everyone says the burgers are amazing. To be blunt it was bland, overcooked and incredibly disappointing.

As others have posted, the service at this location is horrendous. Avoid at all costs. Had never been to a Bagger Dave's and my kids asked to try it. Arrived on a Sunday around 6PM. Parking lot was pretty open, so figured it would be easy to get a table. Walked in and about 1/2 the tables were empty, so figured it was a good sign. We were then told it would be 30-45 minutes before we could be seated. Huh??? We decided to roll the dice and wait it out. Fortunately, they seated us in about 15 minutes. Noticed that a few of the empty tables were dirty, and they sat that way for about 20 minutes. The waitress (whose badge said "Manager") was friendly enough, though she seemed swamp. We didn't get regular refills, and it took about 30 minutes for our food to come out (which is slow for burgers and a salad). While we were waiting, we noticed that the TV close to our table had on some type of medical documentary, and they were showing doctors operating on someone (and it was pretty graphic). Asked an employee to change the channel, and he even looked up to see what was on and winced. Of course, it was never changed (and we sat at the table a good 30 minutes after the request). Food was OK at best. I had a Tijuana Salad. Blah. Everyone else had burgers, which they said were OK. The fries were probably the best part of the meal. I'll give them that they have good fries. If service were better (and this feels like a case of someone not knowing how to schedule waitstaff...c'mon, it's Sunday night and you have 1/2 off kids meals and you are in a busy shopping plaza), we might give it a try again, but not a priority. But given how awful service was, we'll never go back to this location.

Wow! These places are everywhere! So glad! Bagger Dave's is the place to be! Brought my family here tonight, it was, well to say the least. GREAT! Friendly service burgers cooked anyway you want, the sweet chips and huge dipping sauce with honey is great! Beer selection is one of the best I have seen. Now I have two reason to come back to town, see my family, and Bagger Dave's!

Took the wife and two kids here for dinner. I was impressed that they actually had a gluten-free menu and were accommodating. My wife and I ordered two different burgers. I had onion swiss and mushroom over a bed of lettuce since I don't eat wheat. And she had had a basic American burger. Burgers were just okay. To be honest, it tasted like McDonald's with Chili's prices. Nothing special. For the kids, they literally had about 6 French fries in each of their baskets and she charged us $5 for them. I would not go back here again simply because of how stingy they were and cost for the quality and quantity of food.

First off, the service here was nothing short of excellent. My problem was with food. I was expecting this great flavorful burger and what I received was a forgettable cookie cutter burger. I wish the food was a good as the service. Horribly ordinary burger and I left thinking I could have saved money by going to the Wendy's across the street. Having michigan craft beer on tap was a plus but nothing and I mean nothing could save that burger....

I did the "create your own" burger. Regular beef, buffalo bun, sauteed onion and mushroom, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, BBQ sauce, and sharp cheddar. It was heaven in burger form. Seriously one of the best burgers I've ever had. Service was good, and they have MIchigan craft beers on tap, which is something I love to see. The fries are also awesome. However, there are two things that could have been better. First, the little form you fill out to create your burger can be a little bit confusing. Second, we ordered chips and pico as an appetizer and it was a very small portion. When I order chips and salsa, I expect a nice big bowl of chips. That definitely wasn't the case. Regardless, this place is highly recommended. The burgers and fries are almost identical in style to Five Guys, you just get the sit-down/table service atmosphere instead. This place, FIve Guys, and Red Robin are all at the top of my list for burgers....oh, and can't forget Crunchy's in East Lansing.

Had the buffalo flavor turkey burger. It was okay. Their special "garlic buffalo sauce" was too thick / felt like mayonnaise and the garlic flavor tasted artificial. Had a Bloody Mary as well. Although the spent a lot time crafting it, with pickles, olives, pepper jack cheese and jalapeños as toppers, the mix was way too thick and I couldn't even finish it. And the service was a bit amateur. Very nice lady, but would rarely check to see if I need anything or take notice of me in any way. Overall, not bad, but likely won't return.

Ate there for the first time. The food was good and something different than your average burger joint. Nice to see the Michigan made beers on tap. I will be going back if for nothing else than to have another tall Strawberry Blonde.

Though known for their burgers, I had their turkey black bean chili. I thought it would at least have a hint of spiciness because of the jalapenos, but it wasn't at all/borderline bland. It also was very skimpy on beans and was extremely watery. Maybe I had the bottom of the soup barrel? No clue. The sweet potato chips, however, were phenomenal. And whoever decided that cinnamon and honey should go together is a genius. Perfect dipping sauce. They also have the usual collection of craft beers from Michigan, but nothing that I haven't had before.

I can't believe people are giving it such little stars!! I mean it was such a chill place to hang out. Wifi...breakfast...beer AND wine?? Comfy booths...flat screen TVs and the dinner hit of the night...a train circling. Kept our one yr old busy so we could eat. I love any place that lets me customize my food. Had a small turkey burger with onions...pickles...ketchup..mustard and a fried egg! So good! Also the chipotle sauce on the side. I ended up dipping my fries into it. Had the mix n match. Sweet potatoes chip were good. Chose honey cinnamon as dip. Yummy!! I'll be back to try the breakfast! Only few location and all in Michigan!

I had a great time here. It was sort of a busy day, we got in quick. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She explained the menu, since we all were new to Bagger Daves, and even made some suggestions that saved me a few $$. I did a create your own burger and it was great. The meat was a little crispy on the edges and all the toppings were hot. I sampled my wifes chili and it was very tasty. I heard one opened up in Grand Rapids, where I live, so I'll stop by and give them a try.

I am a huge Bagger Dave's fan. Each time I visit the food impresses me. The burgers are consistently well cooked, the topping varieties allow for multiple taste combinations, and the wrapping of the meat, bun, and toppings rarely disappoints. The mix and match sweet potato and regular French fries are great compliment to this fantastic burger. The staff is uniformly attentive and efficient, and the prices while just a bit high are spot on for the quality food and Michigan craft beers available. This bar has also been a great spot to watch football or catch a quick meal alone at the bar. On several occasions when my usual drinking crowd was otherwise engaged, or on my way to meet friends for drinks, I have grabbed a burger and beer at the bar and watched some sports. The bartenders do not neglect the patrons eating at the bar and I have been pleased at how un-pushy they are when I sit there for a few hours and only have a couple beers. Great spot for a quick meal alone or with friends.

Ordered the Santa Fe Turkey Burger, and it was OK, the guacamole on it tasted like it was made from a mix or frozen. Ordered the sweet potato chips and buffalo garlic dip. The chips and dip were the best of the meal. They advertise "craft michigan beers" and they only had 6 beers on tap, all of them being IPAs or light beer selections. There was a nice selection of craft Michigan bourbons, which was interesting.

Honestly I love Bagger Dave's. I've only been twice but each time I've been impressed with the food so much I talk about it to others and convince them to go. I love that you can create your own burger and the options they offer are awesome. The sweet potato chips are so yummy and the dipping sauces are great, I recommend the honey mustard and the cinnamon honey sauce. Last time I was here I tried the soda sampler and loved it, I love that they make their own sodas as well as offer craft beer in various options. My favorite craft soda was the black cherry - so full of flavor! I will definitely be back and I really am curious to try the mac and cheese because I've heard great things.

I admit it I'm angry. Really angry actually. Because I KNOW Bagger Dave's can do better than what they presented to my family of four tonight. You see, like most Detroiters, I work hard to keep food on my family's plate and a roof over our heads. Unfortunately that comes at a sacrifice - namely time spent with my family. So when I do get time off, and we want to have an enjoyable weekend, we'll typically find a restaurant on a Sunday for a family dinner before the weekday starts. Let me preface before I go any further - I've been to Bagger Dave's previously and I thought it was okay - above fast food chain burgers but below Red Coat if you know what I mean. What Bagger Dave's does provide is a fun family atmosphere. They want to be the default neighborhood burger tavern and for that I tip my hat off to them. Sundays they offer half off kid meals and I made the suggestion to my wife that we should go. We packed the car up and drove to Novi. The parking lot wasn't especially busy, though the restaurant was close to capacity. First thing I noticed though was the inordinately long wait for a server to acknowledge us. When they did we were a few minutes in and I should have known better. We were finally given a table and waited...and waited...and waited...for a server to finally come to take our order. My wife was ready to stand up when our waitress approached us. I'll spare you all the details but it took them 15 minutes to take our order, another 15 minutes to provide our drinks - including a "craft lemonade" that was watered down significantly. When they did actually provide us with our food, my "Great American Cheeseburger" was cold. My wife's, the same. My daughters ordered a grilled cheese and a cheeseburger respectively. Daughter 1's grilled cheese was sopping in grease and pickle juice. Daughter 2 never received the right order. A cheeseburger. Not anything extravagant, but what they pride themselves on. So yeah, 45 minutes in and I'm ticked off. I tell the waitress who blankly stares back at me and says "I'm...sorry?". Yeah not going to do it for me. We got up and left and headed across the street to Wendy's where they too have a kids eat half off night. They also served us in less than 5 minutes. I told Bagger Dave's server how disappointed I was. They took one meal off our bill, the one my daughter never received. Needless to say we won't be going back to Bagger Dave's again. I sincerely hope they can figure out a way to improve their service. IF they're going to promote a family night, let's hope they add more than a few other 17 year olds to man the grill in the kitchen.

Mediocre food ( dry burger, cold bun, chewy chips) and lackluster service. Even their "hand crafted soda" was average. With so many burger places around I suggest going elsewhere.

Bagger Dave's burgers could quite possibly be the WORST burger in South Eastern, MI! 3 times now my family and I have given this a place a try...3 times we have had to send our food back. Wait! make that 4 times! Since they tried to get it right twice today on two separate burgers and failed! I have seen burgers coming off a lunch truck that looked and tasted better than these things! They are thin (really thin) and only come Medium Well...which is really more like it just came out of a house fire! Only thing more laughable was when I complained to the manager that the burgers were way past well done (twice), and why couldn't I order it medium?...his reply was that because its written on the menu medium well only??? I am sure that's to disguise the fact that the cook staff is either incapable of cooking to various degrees of done...or that the meat is arguably very poor quality. Either way, save your time and money...Wendy's would be a better choice. Hell, even a burger sitting in tepid water at the local nursing home would be a better choice than what this place offers up! As soon as a Smash Burger or Five Brothers opens up down the street...this place will become extinct!

I truly don't get "Legendary since 2006". I thought I was entering an old time burger joint with fresh handmade groundrounds... Instead they serve frozen ready made burgers that look like they were from the Mac Daddy of all burger chains...I have dined here 3 times and not once was I served a juicy burger. Every burger is cooked medium-well, with a nice selection of toppings. If toppings make a burger for you than this burger joint is right up your alley... I was left to wonder "where is the real BEEF!"This is not what "Legends" are made of; it's certainly not the James Dean of burgers! XXX 3stikes and you are of my list of places to dine...

So to start this review I need to mention that one of my favorite foods are hamburgers, an d that with getting older I have had to try to avoid red meat to be a bit more health conscious. So when coming into Dave's and seeing some of the turkey burger options I was hesitant and hopeful. I have not found many turkey burgers to be quite as good and juicy as a normal beef burger in the past, usually more dry and not as flavorful. So when I tried the Santafe? Burger with the guacamole and pepper jack I was pleasantly surprised. Juicy, with a nice chipotle sauce and fresh tasting, I have now settled on it as a comfort food dish. With a side of the Cajun fries it can make for a great time while watching a college football game here. Staff has always been pleasant, even turning a tv onto the msu game when asked. My wife has always enjoyed the build your own burger option and the ability to get the exact mix she feels like trying as well. Become a repeat visit location and as of yet still have had only good meals in a comfortable atmosphere!

I've heard great things from friends about this place, so I really wanted to try it out. We found the fries and Saratoga chips to be excellent, but the burgers were a big meager and overpriced. They were pretty good, but I just didn't think it was a good value overall. They do have a train that runs around the ceiling on a track. That's cool. But I don't eat trains. So, that's not getting them a star. I had a turkey burger, and while it was good and there was nothing wrong with it, it just didn't feel like it warranted the price. I'd rather go to Red Robin, or Five Guys, or some other place. I do appreciate that this seems to be a local place, but it just didn't do it for me.

Was just craving some burgers and ended up at Bagger Daves. I really liked the Santa Fe burger which had loads of guacamole and the chipotle sauce had a little kick. Clean place with good servers and good burgers, not much else I can ask for

What is not to like about this place, from the Michigan microbeer on tap to the scrumptious hamburgers; this place is great. It is sort of reminiscent of Five Guys Burgers & Fries or Smashburger, only full service and serving beer/wine. I really like the idea of a custom burger and fry option. You are able to add ingredients like guacamole, a variety of sauces, and even sub in a turkey patty for any burger. I think next time I will try there turkey black bean chili.

Bagger Dave's has a good concept. You can custom-order your burger with a wide selection of options. Or you can order one of the specials which covers a wide range of burger tastes. Add in a couple different styles of fries or chili and a beer or mixed drink and you've got a nice alternative to some of the area burger chains. Too bad Bagger Dave's dropped the ball was when it came to execution. On our visit we ordered the Blues Burger (blue cheese), a BLT and split an order of fries. The burger was greasy and the blue cheese was mostly missing in action. The BLT came with limp lettuce that was quickly discarded. Some people might enjoy the slabs of bacon that we found on the BLT but if you prefer your bacon crisp, you'll want to pass on the BLT. The fries were OK. We like the fries with the skins on but we prefer the fries at Penn Station. These fries were a bit too crispy for our taste. We had good service, getting seated as soon as we came in and our waitress was prompt in taking our order and attentive to our table. The decor is nice. Bagger Dave's has an edge on similar restaurants with their drink menu including beer and mixed drinks. But when the food is only so-so, it takes more than that to give us a reason to come back.

We ate lunch here once. That was enough. The service was painfully slow, which is even more painful when you have hungry children waiting on their food. When the food finally arrived, the orders were all wrong (including the kids' order), so it had to go back, and the wait started again. We waited so long on the server to come back to the table that I ended up entering the kitchen to find him. If you do not eat burgers, you will not find a great menu selection. I do not eat beef, so I ordered the one other option - a grilled cheese sandwich. My general view is that it is very difficult to make a bad grilled cheese; however, they managed to do it. Overall, bad service, mediocre food (at best) and not worth the money or the time.

Not recommended! I do have to say that the service was fast and the fries were OK, but they were bland. The food wasn't very good. I ordered a California BLT. The bread was soaked with butter and way to much mayo. I had to scrap about three tablespoons of mayonnaise off of my sandwich. The bacon was way over cooked and burnt, plus I have never had bacon that was so greasy. I couldn't even finish the sandwich. My husband ordered a create your own burger. He thought it was OK, but not the greatest. The Special Sauce was only on half of the burger and had WAY to much mayonnaise. If you like greasy food with tons of mayonnaise than go ahead, but other wise go someplace else. I won't be going back!

Just finished off the blues burger and it was delicious! The atmosphere is nice; nicely decorated but not over the top. The service was great! They took the time to explain the menu and all the options. It's not a huge menu but that's ok. They are a burger tavern and they know how to build one! They even have a gluten-free menu. The michigan brews are good but a bit expensive (almost as much as the burger).

Greatest turkey burger I have ever eaten. Fresh (most of them are free) toppings and the fries are delish too. The sweet potato chips are decent, some are too crispy for my liking... Another plus? They only serve Michigan craft beer. SCORE!
