We dined in and had a sausage and onion pizza with a sprinkling of anchovies on part of it. The pizza and the sausage were amazing - nice crispy crust. Service was solid, and I loved having the lawn games out front and watching kids having fun. The place was a bit noisy, but if you're going out to a casual dining pizza place, that should be expected.

Great food and service. The thin crust is tasty and crisp, especially when eaten at the restaurant. The beef sandwich was a surprise, recommended by another patron, and very tasty - peppers made there a welcome addition.

After trying to get in to THREE other places on a Saturday night in late August downtown - we gave up and came here for pizza. I lived in NY for over 10 years and I am a pizza snob. They were very busy - but had room for us and wine - all we wanted at that point. The pizza is thin and I love the way they cut it into small pieces for easy eating - wine was a generous portion (not that we needed it at that point in the evening). Solid choice.

Well after reading the reviews we were sadly disappointed with our pizza! First of all we did carry out and it took over and 1.5 hrs before it was ready for pickup. We had gluten free pizza and it was almost 20 dollars for ea pizza which is those most We've ever paid for gf pizza!! The pizza was that real card board hard flavorless texture. When you need gf you try not to complain but gf pizza crust has evolved and is much better other places. It was edible but that's really all I can say
(2)Alex P.
I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous when walking in and seeing the restaurant almost empty at 1:00 in the afternoon. Boy was I mistaken. This has got to be the best pizza I've ever had. The crust was so good, I'd eat it plain. Good stuff, highly recommended!
(5)Shannon M.
The pizza is amazing and delicious!!! The crust is crispy and perfect. Mozzarella sticks... Not so much. They were soggy and had no taste... But they probably don't travel well when ordering delivery. We order this pizza every time we are in new buffalo and have never been disappointed with the pizza. A must have!!!
(4)Jessica V.
Ordered two thin crust, family size pizzas. Ready in 30 minutes. The whole group loved it and only had good things to say. I think if I ever order there again, I would get something smaller than family size because the middle was a little soggy and everyone seemed to prefer the crust pieces.
(5)Lois C.
Great pizza . The thin crust rocks and staff is friendly too. The chicken bacon ranch was the best ever! MUST TRY.
(5)Alaina S.
Delivered one hour later, cold and it was the wrong pizza. We have never ordered here before so not sure if this is a one time thing.
(1)Cindy G.
We were camping in the area and decided to try this restaurant. Boy, am I glad we did! This pizza is fabulous. We come from the Milwaukee area, and there are tons of great pizza places there, but this one takes the cake. It was outstanding. Highly recommend it! We will definitely be back. Also had a Yelp coupon to get $10 off.
(5)Cynthia C.
Yum yum yummy! Best pizza ever! If you like thin crust pizza and authentic Italian style pizza this us the place for you! I've been a Villa Nova pizza lover for more than 30 years.
(5)Melissa M.
Pizza is great! Cheese was super awesome! Having the gluten free crust with olive oil was the best idea ever. Lighting is a bit harsh, but the service was very attentive. We'll try it in Illinois.
(5)Madeleine E.
Really awesome pizza; totally unexpected. Thin crust, nicely cooked. sauce tastes great. This place renewed my love for thin crust pizza. Way to go, Villa Nova Pizzeria!
(4)Anna P.
Sausage, enough said.
(4)Landon C.
Good thin crust pizza, but nothing outstanding. We ordered five pizzas from here. Bbq chicken, susage, pepperoni, garden and Canadian bacon. Bbq chicken was the best of the five. Toppings seem a little slim. The Canadian bacon pizza almost looked like a cheese pizza. Bill was over $100, which is a tad high. Did not open until noon on Saturday which seemed a little late for us. Better than Pizza Hut but I have had a lot better pizza. 3.5 out of 5.
(4)Eric T.
Not the worse pizza I have ever had but pretty close. Vegetables tasted like they came out of a can and crust was like cardboard.
(2)Sandra M.
We ordered a half pepperoni half sausage 16" for 5 of us...2 adults and 3 kids. We also had the chicken wings and mozzarella cheese sticks for appetizers. Everything was really good. The wings were just the right spicy and the pizza had the thin crust that i really like and is hard to find. For comparison, in Chicago, I prefer Beggars, Home Run Inn, and Nick and Vitos. The price was very reasonable. I will definitely be back here again. It's really hard to find decent pizza around here, especially when everyone in the area considers Pizza Hut to be the best.
(5)Kitty W.
We all really loved the pizza, ordered two. Perfect crust too. Another child had meatball sandwich with fries which was also terrific. Had a good beer selection. Restaurant is very casual with plenty of outdoor seating which is exactly what we wanted. Lots of parking. Service was great, very friendly & attentive waitress who even packed up our leftover pizza (didn't just leave a box on the table for me to do like most places do). We'll be back!
(5)Liz E.
Great pizza! Have tried 3 different types now and all are great!! Kids love the spaghetti and meatballs too!! Our friend has Celiac and they now offer gluten free pizza and she loved it!! Also deliver which is perfect for a vacation!
(4)Sean W.
Great Pizza! Worth the extra money. Service was fast and courteous. Will visit again my next time north!
(4)Mike Y.
Likely the worst customer service I have ever experienced.... When I came in they looked confused? And after waiting nearly 40 minutes for my pizza and salad and seeing the workers playing games on there phones... I asked them "what's taking so long on a salad?" There response was "we have only 3 people working today, so we are going as fast as we can".... Which would have been a justifiable response if there was more than 2 customers in the entire restaurant. The only reason they are receiving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the pizza tasted actually very good! (Granted after waiting for over an hour a piece of cardboard could have tasted very good)....
(2)Jennifer H.
Crispy crust, good pizza ... I will definitely order from here next time we make a trip up here.
(4)Frank S.
We visit quite regularly from the Little Italy area of Chicago. And, we love thin crust pizza. The pizza here is absolutely incredible. We're going to make it a regular stop.
(4)Mike W.
Another yelp hit. Driving late (10:30p) from Detroit to Kansas City and needed to stop for some decent food. Fun small, town pizzeria. Adequate dining room. Thin crust pizza (chicken, bacon, ranch) was delicious. Large portions. Ordered a small which would normally be a large. Cheesy bread was also good. Next time would order it with sauce- good but a little dry. Excellent staff! Thank you for a great experience.
(4)Cinda E.
Let me start off by saying the pizza is good but the service and the atmosphere were terrible! Too loud, tables too close together and just plain rude especially when the waitress dropped part of our pizza on the floor and never did pick it up off the floor!! She did take $3 off the bill. It never did come check on us once. I gave 2 stars because the pizza was good. It I won't be returning. I'm the type that always gives ppl the benefit of the doubt and never complain. This is the first of giving a bad review to anyone!
(2)Ashir T.
Thin crust pizza's were very good and so was the service. The place is fairly small and has a strip mall kind of look (sort of a hole in the wall). Would recommend it.
(4)Jean Z.
Oh Michigan pizza. Everyone has their favorite style of pizza. It's super thin crust with fresh ingredients at a decent price. With the lack of actual real food in town, it's an ok place for after the beach or for movie night. I'm sure they would love some company in their large dining room. Phone first.
(4)Julie H.
We stopped in with our 4 kids about 8:30 on a Sunday evening. The staff was very friendly. Our waitress was great (wish I'd have gotten her name) she was a blonde with a phrase tattooed on the front of her thigh (that should narrow it down ?). She was very attentive and helpful. I cannot speak to the cleanliness aspect as we sat outside. The pizza was delicious! My family loves pizza and for us to love it means something!
(4)Lucy W.
So - the pizza itself gets 5 stars, but the speed and quality of service for eat-in gets 1 star, hence the 3-star average. We were told when we arrived to seat ourselves & the waitress would be with us soon. It took 15+ minutes for anyone to come over to us, despite the fact that we caught the attention of the waitress a few times. When she did come she was a fill-in person from the kitchen, not one of the regular wait staff, and while she was very nice it was clear she was in over her head with even the simplest tasks. She took our drink orders & almost walked away without giving us any menus to look at - we had to not only ask for them but point out that she had some under her arm she could give us. It took another 15+ minutes for our drinks to come & then she seemed surprised that we wanted to order immediately (we'd been sitting in the restaurant for over a half hour at this point & only just gotten beverages, I'll remind you.) She'd forgotten a pad so said she'd try to remember it. Our food took another 40 minutes. The caprese salad was good - a little heavy on the balsamic for my tastes, but my companions liked it, and the mozzarella, tomatoes & basil were deliciously fresh and generously sized. Our pizza was almost right - we'd ordered one with half sausage / half pepperoni, olives all over, and there was no pepperoni. It was good enough - we were too afraid if we sent anything back we'd never get to eat, so we didn't mention it. We also got a pesto pizza. Both pizzas were delicious. Thin, crispy crust, great flavors, fresh ingredients. I'm not a big sausage fan, but the guys with me devoured it and said it was fantastic. The restaurant itself also doesn't have much going for it in terms of atmosphere. It was a beautiful night so we ate outside - overlooking the parking lot and the busy road. Inside they have a few tables in a dim, diner-like atmosphere. Definitely not a lot of ambiance going on here. Bottom line - order the take-out from Villa Nova. The pizza's great, but unless you really want lots of extra time before dinner to chat & don't care about your surroundings, don't plan on eating in.
(3)Colleen B.
This little Mom and Pop Pizzeria has gluten free pizza!! The staff was very nice and took extra precaution with my food allergies. I LOVE their gluten free pizza, the toppings were so fresh! I will definitely be back next time I visit family.
(5)David C.
Thin and crispy pizza made and served by youthful staff. Comfy outdoor seating, complete with beanbag game.
(4)Dave K.
This is good quality pizza, just had thin crust pies delivered and they were really tasty. If you like sausage on your pizza you are in good hands. The cheese is also very tasty.
(4)Sherry P.
Give a raise to whomever is on the crust/dough detail. Excellent thin, crispy crust. Sweet tomato sauce, right mix on toppings. Overall really the best pizza in Harbor Country, and we've tried them all;).
(5)Amy M.
I agree with the other reviewers, the pizza is off the charts while the service is a bit off the mark. That said, we go for the pizza and are generally not in a hurry. While Villa Nova would not be my first choice for ambiance, it is my first choice for pizza when in Harbor Country.
(5)Rachel C.
Awesome pizza, the kids loved the chicken fingers (and they know their chicken fingers). Although on a busy road, the tables outside are nice when you don't want to be cooped up inside. There is a smallish dining area inside. The servers are attentive and our food has always be served promptly.
(5)Kevin R.
The pizza saved this restaurant. On Sunday of the July 4 weekend, turned away from every other favorite by the crowds, we tried Villa Nova's patio. The service was dreadful, although we overheard our dour waitress complain that two other servers cancelled. We served ourselves fountain drinks, retrieved our own utensils and napkins, and held our tongues when our dining companions' sandwich and pasta dishes came out 15 minutes before the pizza. But that pizza. The crust is an above-average thin crust with enough substance to balance the cheese and toppings. Everything actually came together nicely to create a solid, three-star pizza pie, and the family size leaves leftovers for lunch. Still, we will not be returning, especially given all of the other options in NB and up the shore in Union Pier.
(2)Ashley S.
Found Villa Nova on Yelp after looking for a place we could get a lighter meal that would still be interesting. Took a risk going to a pizza place, but were very happy to be able to order two salads, a small pizza, and a glass of wine. Food: The salads were big for $7.50 and loaded with toppings. The pizza is cracker thin, but dense, making it feel more hearty. They cut it into small squares which was perfect for us since we only wanted a limited amount. The pizza was delicious, though my husband pointed out that it didn't have a red sauce. I didn't miss it, but he would have preferred red sauce. The cost for a small margherita is $15. They also have wine by the glass and bottle. We had a Malbec and Pinot Noir and both were surprisingly good. Glasses were $5.50 and bottles $19. Total bill was $40, but the yelp $10 for $5 coupon made even more inexpensive. Dining: The restaurant has a very small indoor seating area and feels more like a grab and go set up, but they do take your order at your table. There are about 10 or so plastic and bench style tables. There is also an outdoor seating area that wasn't open for the season yet. Service: The service was very friendly and casual. A gentleman stopped by at the end of our meal to check on us, perhaps the owner. Location: Right off the main street near Barney's making it easy to get to and very central. Overall, this is a great place for a casual meal. Nice salads for a lighter meal option compared to the other must-do restaurants in town. Look forward to coming back.
(4)Eric C.
Stopped by for dinner on the way home to Chicago. The Yelp deal drove this decision. We were pleasantly surprised by the good pizza and relatively prompt service. This place is definitely worth a try. keep in mind they do NOT accept credit cards
(4)Chris C.
Best pizza in the entire area. And now that they serve beer there is no question where to go.
(4)Tom K.
Very good pizza, decent wings, and a great salad. Their delivery system is a little chaotic, which is why I didn't give them five stars. We ordered from our hotel and they got the room number wrong (and later in the evening I passed another Villa Nova delivery person in the lobby, clearly operating on incorrect information as well). So our food was a little cold when it arrived after its repeat journey, but was very welcome after the wait and was very good anyway. We have it on good authority (the front desk dude at the Fairfield Inn) that their sandwiches are even better than the pizza. So if we come back, we may have to try them, too. But we may go pick up or eat in instead. And as someone else pointed out, you can pay with plastic (I don't know why they're shown as cash only).
(4)janice m.
Great pizza, cheesy with a nice hint of fresh garlic, crust not too thin, and best of all they deliver to your hotel room!!!!!! We have ordered twice from here and both times been very happy with our meals. The pizza was hot, the delivery guy was nice, and the wait time was within the time frame they promised. What more can I say!!! We will be back when we are here in August!!!!
(4)Allyson B.
We decided to give Villa Nova a try after hearing some recommendations from friends and we are so glad we did!!!! Chicago style pizza was great, loved the crust and the perfect crunch! The sausage pizza is wonderful, but my favorites were definitely the garden pizza (including every veggie you could ever want on a pizza!) and margherita. All of the ingredients were fresh and the service was great. I will definitely come back and recommend to all of my friends!
(5)Brenda S.
Awesome, and best pizza in the whole area!!! The crust, sauce, and the sausage is great. The salads and cheese sticks are a must. Great for the whole family with a casual, yet inviting atmosphere. They serve beer and wine too.
(5)Nora S.
We travel from Chicago to Michigan frequently in the summer and have never found a great pizza place. I'm a huge thin crust pizza fan and my husband is a sausage fan and we found our place with Vailla Nova. The crust is cracker thin....when i say thin i mean really really thin. If you search yelp for thin crust pizza like i do you will have found your soulmate in villa nova. We got a thin crust sausage and garlic bread and everything was super reasonably priced. The sausage is plentiful on the pizza. The cheesy garlic bread wasn't the best but the pizza more than made up for it. They don't have a beer/wine license yet but are going to be getting one in the near future. Great outdoor seating, family friendly, very reasonably priced and great pizza. Can't wait to go back! Deal Tip: They are currently running deals on yelp and restaurant.com !
(4)Kristen G.
We were looking forward to eating at Villa Nova because of all the good reviews. Unfortunately, our experience left all of us feeling pretty queasy! I will say, the food tasted decent. However, the cleanliness of the employees making the food left ALOT to be desired. The first red flag was when two different employees both spent A LONG time in the bathrooms (assuming they were having some GI issues?) and BOTH emerged from the bathrooms with their aprons and cleaning towels on, and immediately returned to making food. They were in there so long that there were several customers waiting to use the bathrooms! The second red flag was maybe even more gross! As we were eating our pizza, we unfortunately witnessed an employee making pizzas AS SWEAT CONTINUALLY DRIPPED OFF HIS NOSE onto the food below. After that, we were done eating. Just thinking about it makes my stomach turn all over again. Would definitely not recommend this place until they upgrade their sanitation practices. Eat at your own risk...
(1)Philip P.
Not bad pizza for being in New Buffalo Michigan. Definitely considered to be Chicago style, seeing that most/if not everyone ordering from this place is actually from Chicago. However I cannot vouch for the other menu items they serve.
(3)Mark N.
Despite several good experiences with Villa Nova, tonight's was not so good. After calling and double checking, they didn't show up and have no record of our order. If you're going to run a successful delivery business, keep track of phone orders. Waited an hour and a half, and now no delivery coming. Disappointing.
(1)David T.
Fantastic pizza. We loved the crust and the price wasn't bad at all. Especially after picking up the $5 off deal on Yelp. Service was pretty good. We walked in right around 5 and we had to find someone to inquire about service, but not a big deal. The Garlic cheese bread appetizer was a bit on the small side for what I expected given the price. We really enjoyed the meal overall and we will check in again the next time we are in New Buffalo.

We had a great find of a restaurant right on Red Arrow Highway! Villa Nova has definitely improved with the change in management/ownership! We had a group of 10 and the atmosphere, customer service, and food were excellent. We had several pizzas (fabulous!), pasta, salad, deserts, and drinks. The weather was great and all the doors and windows were open for the fresh air. It has a good-looking patio that we hope to take advantage of now that spring has arrived! Really recommend this place for couples or groups. Very friendly and fun - great food, great prices.

Thin New York style pizza cut into squares. Not exactly what I was expecting but it was tasty. Nice atmosphere. I love the hole-in-the-wall feel, not like the chain stores.

Growing up in Chicago, I think this is a good standard Chicago thin crust. And by far the best sausage pizza in the area.

If your looking for thin crust in New Buffalo give this place a chance. Great family staff, and again, really good pizza. If I was looking for pizza again, I'd start here... One neg. no CCs accepted, so bring cash, but not worth losing a star over that, just a small inconvenience.

I had the chance to visit this place while I was in New Buffalo, after reading the reviews on Yelp I had high expectations. I was not disappointed. Their pizza is absolutely delicious. I had sausage and black olives. The crust was thin and crispy. They are reasonably priced and I found a great deal on Yelp. I will definitely visit them again the next time I am in the area. Everything on the menu looks delicious so maybe next time I will try their meatballs sub. If you are in the area, make sure you stop in and grab a bite to eat.

We got stranded at a hotel upon encountering icy road conditions during a lake effect snowstorm. We called Villa Nova and they were still delivering. We decided to order some non-pizza items; chicken Caesar salad and New Buffalo Bleu sandwich. The salad was fresh, simple, and delicious! The sandwich was spicy goodness. It had an amazing amount of flavor. This place is awesome! Check it out!

Just ordered a pizza from here and it was really good. I like thin pizza so i am a little bias. the sausage is really chucky and there is a lot of cheese. i used the coupon on yelp and saved $10. we also ordered cheese sticks. they were soggy, no good. hot wings were tasty. fast delivery and nice prices. defenantly recommend for the pizza.

Great deal from Yelp led us to this very reasonable and delicious pizzeria. The thin crust was crunchy, the cheese and sauce very tasty and the pasta sides were large enough to share. A great meal at a great price. We went back the next day and got slices which were not as good as the whole pizza the night before but overall were tasty as well.

Very good thin crust pizza. Garlic cheese bread was amazing.

Great old fashioned pizza place were they roll out the dough themselves. They made an error in our order and totally made it right.

We think it's the best pizza in town and the Italian beef is also very good. Everyone is very nice and friendly and the coupon is a good deal.

Casual drop-in place for pizza and salad. The servers are always friendly and the pizza is great. We like it year-round.

Excellent pizza! I always get spinach and giardiniera and it's cooked perfectly every time. And now they've got the liquor license so I know where I'll be after work! There's pasta and salads on the menu too, I've had the Caesar and the tossed or chef salad.. I forget... Everything has been great!

I liked the pizza here, the crust was thin and crispy, good balance of cheese vs. sauce, and the sausage was served up in substantial chunks. The dining room has zero ambiance, however, so definitely recommended for carry-out or delivery only.

This place was a train wreck. We entered the restaurant at 8:32 pm and at 10:00 we still didn't have our pizzas. At 9:20 we were told it was almost done. (Later we were told the pizza wasn't ordered until 9:20.) At 9:40 we were told that they were really busy -- they had a lot of takeout orders. At 9:50 our server told us they had given our pizza to someone else by mistake. At 10:00 they told us the order had fallen behind the printer. Somewhere in there they said that one of the ovens wasn't working. And when one of our pizzas came without mushrooms or onions, we were told the waitress hadn't written down mushrooms and that the onions were just so small we couldn't see them. Also in there a woman, not our server, told us they would comp our dessert, and when we told her we did not want dessert and she walked away saying, loud enough I could here hear her, "We can only do so much to make people happy." The owner of the place didn't come to the table until we asked to speak to him -- at 10:00. Absolutely nothing was comped from our bill -- we paid $64 for one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant.

The pizza is pretty good and the staff is always friendly. I'm pretty sure it's cash only - At least it was the last time I was there.

Pizza is very good, but their customer service needs a lot of work.

Had dinner here last night . The pizza was fantastic - excellent crust- New York Style - thin and not greasy. The sausage had fantastic flavor. This was a wonderful family run restaurant -the owner Dave was delivering pizzas - probably because the roads were snowy and icy - his wife was at the cash register and their 8 year old daughter was as cute as a button assisting the server - a local NB high school student. Service was fantastic - and friendly. There was a nice flat screen tv and we were able to see the end of the Saints and Seahawks game ... To top off the night - they made a fantastic desert .. A freshly baked warm chocolate chip cookie smothered in vanilla ice cream and topped with whipped cream and hot chocolate sauce !!! Definitely going back - great family dining experience!!!
