My boyfriend and I had the wet burrito and both of us highly disliked it. The meat and sauce were both very bland. The meat tasted Italian instead of Mexican. It took all we could muster to choke it down. I don't know about the other food on the menu, but the burrito was seriously disgusting!

First time here. It's definitely a tavern with burgers and beer, lake perch, but no steaks on the menu. The food we had was good, but too pricey. The burger special was $12 and Mac and cheese was $10. We like a menu with more dinner choices. Service was nice and atmosphere was relaxed. They have a band on Wednesday. They seem to draw a lot of locals for beer at the bar. It's just not our scene.

Good service and good food to bad there was a loud mouth golfer that had to make his presence known to everyone in the place

Don't understand why the place gets a bad rep. A buddy and I were at the cottage on Duck Lake and decided to come here for dinner and to watch the National Hockey Championship. The bartender was kind enough to have one of the TVs switched to ESPN so that we could watch the collegiate game (despite the fact that the Red Wings were playing on both TVs). The atmosphere was phenomenal, and there was a jukebox with great music playing. There was also live music later into the night where they took requests and absolutely nailed them. It was a great place to be in, people were jolly, and the locals all seemed to know one another. There is also a pool table (that is a little tight if the restaurant is crowded), that you can play for $1 while you wait for your food. As far as the food goes, I don't get why people gave it such poor reviews either. The burgers weren't pricey at all. At about $9 for a meal, it wasn't an awful price, and it seemed consistent with your average Red Robin or Bar Louie back in Grand Rapids. Buffalo wing appetizers were a bit small in terms of portions for the price that they were, but the food was fairly good. I thoroughly enjoyed every part of my time there, and I'm glad that I was there that night to experience the live music and the good food. Overall, a great experience and I hope to be back again.

Excellent food and service. We ordered a salad, wings, and Pizza. All were terrific. Really neat place. Cool atmosphere. We will definitely go back.

I'm too short to sit at the bar and I'm 5'3". The stools are just too high. The food is ok. It needs just a bit of something more to be worthy of the price.

If you haven't been to the Red Rooster since the new owners took over - you're in for a real treat. The new menu is fantastic! Spinach salad to start with cant be beat. Asian sloppy joes are also great. Everything we've tried here from the Burrito to the perch is first rate. Highly recommend this place!!!
