Great Japanese steakhouse. Good sushi, and even better stir-fry. The little Asian salsa they give you as an appetizer is different, but quite tasty. Kind of a sweet and sour type sauce. Overall worth a visit.

FINALLY some good sushi in the Muskegon area. I would rank this best on the Lakeshore. Did not try the hibachi, but the prices looked reasonable and I would try it. It's nice to see a restaurant I'm interested in visiting again in this close-to-the-beach-house location and convenient to the mall.

I read the sushi was good. Whoever wrote that has probably never had good sushi. The rice tasted terrible. It wasn't expensive, but I would rather not waste time eating somewhere that doesn't make good food. I will give it two stars, because the price was right for the quality of food and the service was great.

So happy to finally have found a sushi place!!! Just moved from FL where there's sushi almost everywhere! Food was amazing, although most Japanese restaurants serve their salads with ginger dressing...not quite sure what that was and it was mayo based. Miso soup did not have tofu in it either. Saki was delicious too! Will be coming in again hopefully soon!

What a great experience! Our chef, Franky, was a pleasure -- he really engaged our small group and set the bar high for our next trip to a hibachi restaurant! The other staff was so friendly, too. We loved the food (no surprises there), and tried the red snapper hibachi style for the first time -- not something you can find very often!

Was pretty disappointed in my lunch. We had to ask for chop sticks, ask for something to put the soy sauce in, ask for napkins... Service not so good. My sushi roll didn't even have rice covering the whole roll.. So disappointing.

The food warrants a 3.5, BUT the hibachi show is entertaining, so I'll bump it up to 4 stars!! We tried: - shrimp tempura: yummy and not oily at all! - the bf had a few pieces of nigiri, including octopus, salmon, maybe yellowtail, and something eggs? He enjoyed it. The pieces are smaller than what he's used to, but he said the prices here are cheaper, too. - grilled chicken hibachi - filet mignon & shrimp hibachi - strawberry daiquiri: deeeeeelish! Hibachi meals come with a portion of fried rice, fried noodles (I thought I'd like the noodles more, and while the noodles were good, the fried rice was REALLY good), 2 pieces of shrimp, some veggies, and whatever meat you choose. This is one of those try once in your life kinda places, but you really are paying more for the hibachi show than the food itself. It's cool and fun, would make a great date place or maybe dinner to add some excitement into your life, but I don't see hibachi being my go-to dinner when I'm bored.

Wonderful food, great service. Best sushi I've had and would put it up against many larger city sushi bars. Thrilled to have this level of quality ethnic food in SW Michigan area.

Time #1: Service was great, seated right away. Had a good chief, not the best, but good. Tried Sushi for the first time here!!! It was great. We also had steak at the hibachi. Over all the service was great. 5 Star for this visit Time #2: Made Reservations a day before. Arrived a little early. But later found out, 2 hours later, the reservations don't matter. After almost 3 hours we were seated (At Hibachi Again). We had our chief making us dinner. We looked around and noticed that we had the worst chief ever!!! He was very boring. I forgot to look at his tag, if he had it. Over all service was a 1 star for this visit. Both round together to about a 3 star. Gong there pretty soon. Third times a charm!!! Right?

What can i say, looking for a show and some good Japanese hibachi, this is it around here. Ive never had bad food here, sushi, hibachi, or other, but maybe ive been lucky, wait times vary, ive been in, ate and out in less then 30min before and ive had to wait an 1.5 hours, but that can happen at hibachis, the key is to talk to your new found food guest and enjoy the soup and salad. The cooks all seem good, theres one better then the others but i cant remember his name :( i have seen one bust the egg in his hat trying to catch it(good or bad you decide). They joke and do stunts while making your food, then you eat and converse (or not) with your neighbors. When you finish check out the pond with fish. Orrr you could sit on the other side without a show and your food will taste 99% the same, come out faster on nice trays, and you wont need to sit by anyone other then who came with you. Oooor sit at the sushi bar and enjoy fresh sushi. All my visits the staff have been nice and friendly, when you get their attention as then seem to get you started mostly and then move on half the time. But overall a good place to go.

I'm only giving it 4 stars because I didn't drink there and it was my first time there. I may give it 5 if I go back and have the same experience. Also I'm in Muskegon so my expectations are low. I had a 20 piece Sashimi and the Muskegon Roll. Both were excellent and presentation was great. Service was equally good. It wasn't busy so I expected that. I can't comment on the hibachi since I didn't have that but the sushi was SOLID. Nice atmosphere too. I can't wait to go back.

This ranks on the bottom of Japanese Steakhouses I've been to but its the only one around so this is what you'll get. The food was decent overall, with the steak having a funny flavor however i did like the scallops. The atmosphere was slightly dated (could use a remodel). The hibachi chef "ck" was excellent and provided a wide variety of entertainment during his service. Our particular server was the worst I've had in a long time. Maybe she was having a bad day but it did not go well. I had to ask her to get us drinks , ask for refills by flagging her down, she brought the rice at the end of the meal (no joke the meal was done) and my second beer must have been desert because thats when i got it. The attitude received when speaking with her was so bad i thought i did something wrong. To top it all off a check never arrived at the end until i went to the front to ask for one. I would never return to this restaurant for the service alone, very disappointing considering what you'll pay.

We are always looking for places with authentic ethnic food and this one is keeper. Very excited to have them in our town. It can be a little expensive for dinner but lunch is very reasonable. I recommend ordering a bento box. It gives you a little bit of everything.

Came here for the lunch special, got 3 rolls for $10.95. Some of the best miso I have ever had. The eel roll and tempura whitefish roll were both well done and delicious, the California roll left a little more to be desired, I felt like it was sort of bland. My girlfriend enjoyed her California and Philadelphia rolls. Very cool atmosphere, and a great place to stop in a whim, if I ever find myself in the area again I will definitely stop here. The 4 stars are because I am still hungry after my soup and three rolls.

Traveling for business and saw this place and since I love sushi... gave it a try. The food was absolutely delicious. Worth 4 stars. The service was just so so. Wait staff seemed knowledgeable but too quiet, not very friendly and hard to understand. That's why I gave only 3 stars. That wouldn't keep me from visiting again or recommending to others, just an observation.

I had the sushi deluxe for lunch. $16. Soup and salad were good. The fish was as good as you can get in MI. I was very satisfied. That salmon and hamachi were the best. Good size portions too. 2 thumbs up.

The menu provides a large selection to choose from. I liked the wide variety of sushi and sashimi. The service was excellent. We chose to eat on the hibachi grill side and my 5 year old daughter absolutely loved it! The chef was very entertaining, involving everyone at the table. Everyone in my group ordered something different and we were all very pleased with our food.

Both the sushi and teppanyaki side of restaurant are ABSOLUTELY stunning! Service is prompt and there is a complete side menu of wines, cocktails & Martinis. The sushi menu includes appetizers, the traditional "select between sushis, rolled sushis & sashimi you want" or selectable sushi entrée. The grill side: traditional and very delicious. The only down side would be that the servers are not very personable. So don't come here alone and expect to make friends with servers. But overall, excellent!

Last night was my first visit, and probably will be my last. Do you know the Seinfeld bit about taking reservations, but not holding reservations? That's how I felt last night. We had 7:00 reservations but we weren't seated until after 7:30, while we waited in a very crowded area right in front of the restaurant - no real waiting area to speak of. When we were seated, no apology for the wait, even though we had reservations. There were other parties in the same boat. Then the server was TERRIBLE. Both my wife and I ordered a water with our beer orders and they never came, but she did bring an extra pink lemonade. I ordered an entree that wasn't from the hibachi (big mistake that I'll get into in a minute). I ordered the pork which came out as a filet and I have no silverware. When she comes back around, I ask her for the silverware and my server brings out two forks! I'm supposed to tear it apart with two forks? After trying to make the forks work, I ask her for a knife, and she gets a deer in the headlights look and then asks the busboy if they have any knives. I would really hope a steakhouse would have knives! So she brings me one like it came with the meal. No apology, no sorry-I'm-having-a-rough-night, no sorry-this-is-my-first-day. Finally, I don't know if this is fair to blame them, but being my first time in a hibachi restaurant, I kinda thought they cooked everything right in front of you. Kinda like a Mongolian grill type place, whether you ordered a "hibachi entree" or not. So I was disappointed when the chef came over to cook and my order wasn't included. I guess it's my own fault for not ordering a hibachi entree, but then my dish didn't even come out until the hibachi :show" was done and the rest of my party was pretty much finished. It makes me feel like they should ask the customers if they'd been there when they sit down, to make sure uncultured dunces like me know how the process works. My daughter wants to be sure that I note the chef was really cool, and he did a really cool bit where he twirled an egg on the grill, scooped it up with his spatula, and threw it up in the air 2-3 times before throwing it into his hat. It was pretty cool.

This place is a bit below average for your run of the mill Hibachi Grill. First the quality and quantity of food for the price is off. You pay too much for what you actually get and the food is not great or anything. The dressing on the salad is not the traditional sesame dressing, I don't know what it is but it was pretty bland with little taste. The soup was not bad, same as everywhere else. The chef's do the same tricks as every other Hibachi Grill. Nothing great here. They did have squirt bottle full of Sake they offered to squirt into your mouth. Even to an obviously underage person at our table. Not good. Service was fine. there's just nothing great about this place but it's not horrible either. Just a tad below average.

I was glad when a Japanese Steakhouse opened in Muskegon, and visiting friends provided the perfect opportunity to try Kazumi. If the review was left to them, I'm certain it would get five stars. They all enjoyed it and raved and raved. It was a good setting to catch up (good for a date as well), the service was spot on, and tasty appetizers were fought over. Everyone loved their main courses. Everyone, but me that is. Here's where the two stars come in- In Japan you can find yakisoba everywhere. Depending on where you get it will determine the quality of the dish. I have looked for yakisoba where ever I have been since leaving Japan. So, imagine if you will, my level of excitation upon seeing yakisoba on the menu at Kazumi. When the "yakisoba" came I was disheartened to see that the noodles looked like ramen noodles without any special garnishment. I was truly perturbed when I tasted them, and in fact they were, nothing other than ramen noodles. They didn't even taste good. I could have went across the street to the grocery store and purchased a better tasting microwaveable tray of "yakisoba" for $1.00. The final ouch was delivered with the bill(s), that I picked up. It was well over a hundred dollars, although equal parts food and beer.... I left with a sour taste in my mouth, but a house full of happy friends. Having said all that, I will ignore my boo boo feelings and give them another shot. I'll just steer clear of the ramen, and update my rating (hopefully).

The sushi wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't spectacular either, the prices are very unreasonable. My GF ordered the lunch special which was 2 rolls + soup for $8.75 which is not bad. Wanting more food, I ordered one of the "special rolls" which was $9.95 alone, plus I ordered an avocado roll. When we got our food, the portions were exactly the same..my "special roll" was no bigger than either of the rolls my GF received with her lunch special, plus she received soup. Essentially, she received 2 rolls+soup for the price I paid for 1 roll of the same size. $40 later I'm still hungry and only full from the feeling of being cheated. We will not being going back.

I started off with the White Tuna sushi roll which was pretty good. I than had the teriyaki chicken which was pretty average. Nice atmosphere and good service made it an overall good meal.

Great atmosphere! Sat at one of the several Hibachi grills. The Grill Master made an entertaining show of grilling our fresh food. Both of us were completely satisfied with the service, taste and quantity. Will definitely visit again to try other things on their extensive menu; especially the sushi.

Very good food and service. Had the teriyaki steak and the wife had the teriyaki chicken. Very tasty and a good sized potion also. You need to try the Shamui appetizer. Could have order a couple of additional servings of this and made it a meal. We will try the habachi and sushi next time.

Do not go here...unethical and horrible managing. We made reservations for Mothers Day and then proceeded to stand waiting among about 50 other people (no seating or standing room) for 45 minutes because they booked 30 minute seatings. Clearly people don't eat in 30 minutes. My children were starving and we never received any sort of apology. We finally got seated and then our "show" lasted about 5 minutes as the chef was hurrying to get to the next table. I had a coupon, a "Sunday Special" for $10 off a $40 bill, which had no listed exclusions. The manager proceeded to tell me that they don't accept coupons on holidays. When I showed him the coupon he said it doesn't matter that it doesn't say it. I told him that he can't make up rules to his liking and not include the terms on the coupon. He kind of laughed and still said no. So we spent about $80 to wait an hour to eat, have a 5 minute show and then be laughed at by an incompetent manager who seems to think that advertising legalities don't apply to him. Stay away from this place.
