The casino is okay, though since it's a Native American casino they let 18 years old in. Back in the day I was one of them, but now I see how it can be a bit obnoxious. I recently went back for a conference and stayed in the hotel. The rooms are really nice, and the service staff was excellent. Food in the resturants was good, and not too pricey, and the conference center staff was really on the ball.

Second stay at the Soaring Eagle, best package deal for your money. Ate dinner at Isabella's and it was delicious...chef made the best Filet! SE had a great outdoor area to chill while taking a break from gambling! Visited 6 different casinos and found the SE's slots the best play! We will be back!

We stayed at the hotel here on a Saturday night in July. Check in was quick and efficient by a courteous receptionist. We reserved a deluxe Jacuzzi room and we were not disappointed! The room had a very comfortable mattress and pillows and everything was immaculate. We sat in the jacuzzi for an hour, it was just like a hot tub!! Our room also had a private patio area! We ate at the buffet and gambled for about 4 hours. It was very enjoyable and all staff we encountered were very friendly. We would do this stay again!!

This was the third time in 6 months we stayed at the casino hotel and got a bad room. First in March we booked a non-smoking room and got to are room and it smelled like cigarette smoke. The second time we stay another non-smoking room that smell like urine and the shower did not work room could used a good cleaning are most recent stay was August 15 the room had a bad smell the towels smelled like cigarette smoke the bathroom needs updating and the carpet had large dark spots all over there was water / condensation running Down the airconditioner and there was long drak hair in the bed. We never win at the casino. ..we like the food coupons given when we used players club card...check-in was good and has improved.

Casino: Out of the not-very-many casinos I've been to, Soaring Eagle is my favorite, and not just because it's in Mt. Pleasant. Because it's in a college town, there are definitely still large groups of ol people here on any given day, but there are also a lot of young people around. This makes the atmosphere much nicer, because there are a lot less sad gambling addicts bringing the mood down. I don't feel the sort of underlying sadnees that seems to linger in all of the Detroit casinos. Plus, I routinely come out ahead by like $20-$40. So that's awesome. Hotel: FABULOUS hotel. The bed was super comfortable, the room was clean... no complaints whatsoever. The pool is like bathwater, and there is an indoor and an outdoor hot tub, which are both great. Since it was cold outside, the outdoor hot tub was especially fun. There is a bonfire outside near the pool when it gets dark out, too. Restaurants: Pricey, but so are all casino restaurants everywhere. The buffet is wonderful. The diner is somewhat reasonably priced, and also 24 hours, which was really fun to come down from our hotel room in our pjs at 1 am for fries and shakes :)

Don't waste your time this place is a rip off or out to scalp you. The video poker is by far the tightest and just sucks. Oh and they charge you for a bottle of water. You are kidding right nope $1.25.... ish

I stayed here in October 2010 as part of the Michigan Association of Realtors Annual Convention and Expo. The hotel was very comfortable, but I found the room I stayed in lacked a desk. They had free internet, which I liked, but there was no desk to set up and work at in the room. We had a huge jacuzzi tub, which was nice. I had to work on the edge of the bed with my laptop to get work done while I was in my room, which made it uncomfortable to that degree. The restaurants were pretty good. There was a steak house buffett that I would not give a great review for, but there was another one (Iforgot the name) that we had breakfast at that was superb! I found the casino to be a bit dated compared to other casinos I have been in in Vegas and the one in Battle Creek at Fire Keepers. There was also a noticable problem with cigarette smoke in the casino area, that was distracting. The convention rooms were decent, and of good size. I would go to a convention there again.

I've been here three times and have had the same general experiences, so I feel that it's good and on higher par than Detroit casinos. The casino, as other have mentioned, makes you feel packed in like sardines. If you're with a larger group, you might as well just branch off. It can be hard to even meander through sometimes, especially in peak hours in the evening. In the wee hours of the morning, you'll have no problem. No, they don't give you free alcoholic drinks, but the bar drinks aren't that expensive. It was $3.50 for a bottle and $5-6 for a mixed drink. I have never been carded for anything there, but I'm 31 years old and don't care anyway. They have free fountain pop, which is a cool perk too. It is a smoking casino, but it's honestly not that smoky. They have a non-smoking section, and if someone is puffing away next to you, you can easily move to one of the other thousand slot machines. I personally enjoy walking around with a cigar and a bottle of beer. They have a store to the side where you can even buy some smokes if you want. It is a very clean and secure environment. Do not go to the Legends Diner, as I noted on that review. That place is an embarrassment to the casino. The hotel is also very nice. The rooms are very clean and somewhat upscale, with the cheapest room costing you around $200 for the night. We stayed a few times in a suite, and it was amazing. The staff is always helpful and courteous. The pool area is a highlight of our stays there. The pool is big and never that crowded. My friend cut his toe on a missing tile on the bottom of the pool, but we just laughed at him. They have an "over 18" time frame too if you hate swimming with pissing kids. They have a hot tub inside and outside. While they don't allow alcohol there, nobody is really there to enforce it. They also tell you that you can't bring your own coolers into the hotel, so pack your booze in a bag. Living south of Detroit, going here is more of a vacation than an impromptu gambling whim. It's like going up north on a vacation AND going to a casino.

I have been looking forward to my nights vacation here. Although I had the absolute worst experience. My service animal was constantly questioned and I, harassed concerning him. We also had to police called on Us Based on his slight barking. In the end. After at least $500 spent, we were told to have our SERVICE ANIMAL LEAVE, or we would have to leave ourselves. Obviously, we chose to leave before our show and enjoying our night. I'm am EXTREMELY upset with my treatment, as well as how my disability was treated. At all times I felt unwelcome and as though I was breaking rules. Needless to say, I WILL NEVER be back at soaring eagle. Honestly. This place is awful.

This review is for their buffet. Wife and I have eaten here when we stayed at the hotel and enjoyed it. But now every thing tastes out of a can and frozen and preheated. Nothing fresh. Salty. I CAN ALWAYS TELL WHEN FOOD IS PREPACKAGED AND FROZEN WAY TO MUCH SALT. No true cheif. On the staff is what I hear.don't waste your money. THE only thing you will get from this food is gas and the RUNS!

We visited Soaring Eagle on Friday Sept 23 2014...I hadn't been here in probably 6 years. I was sad to see how run down it had become! My review is for the casino only. Even upon entering it just felt different. Smoky, kind of worn out feeling. Carpets all throughout the casino floor were dirty and dated. Machines were lack luster, outdated...monotonous. No cocktail waitresses, just an occasional cart of soft drinks went by..for pay. No free coffee/soft drink stations. I had an average amount of success on the slots but found no new ones to excite me. The crowd playing throughout the casino were varied but largely a pretty haggard bunch. The buffet is small but had some things I enjoyed but was pretty average for $21. One thing that annoyed me was they bill Friday as a seafood night and there is no crab legs...just a few typical seafood choices. Bathrooms were messy. Gift store was one of the worst I've seen. So ... All in all I guess I'm being pretty negative...but it used to be much nicer! I give 3 stars in hopes that maybe they are doing well enough and can renovate and refresh to their former level. I also have to say that Firekeeper's in Battle Creek does better on every one of the points I criticize here about Soaring Eagle...just just seem to be more on their game and are making a more quality experience for the guests.

This review is for the casino, as I've never actually stayed at the hotel despite coming here countless times. My hometown is about a 1 hour drive from this casino, so as a young guy influenced by the massive boom in poker popularity about 10 years ago, I took my fair share of trips here as a college student. I hadn't been in several years, but recently on a lark a friend and I decided to make the drive for a couple hours worth of gambling. I'm glad we did it, since for years it was my only real casino experience, and after seeing the whole casino spectrum over the last few years, I was able to put this place in perspective: For damn sure not Vegas, but you can do a hell of a lot worse (and I have)! I really only play two games, poker and craps. Although the poker room is not as vibrant and bustling as it used to be, there is still plenty of action on a weekend night. As for the players, if you take them at their word they are all poker experts, which seems to be at odds with their current situation busting out at the 3-6 limit hold 'em tables. Enough tables/games to keep most people happy. The craps tables are awesome--not sure if they had always had them as I am new to playing craps, but the table minimums top out at $10 and they even had a $5 table going for a while early on on a Saturday (!!!!) night. I haven't been to any of the Detroit casinos in years but I doubt they can even come close on that front. Despite all the pros, there are some cons. I won't mention the smoke: It's a casino, for gods sake. If you want fresh air you're in the wrong place. But why am I paying for drinks while I gamble? And the location brings an...interesting set of clientele. Every casino has its mandatory sad, chain smoking, senior citizens, but this place is something else. All in all, though, this is a damn fine place to throw away your money.

Reviewing only the hotel not the casino. Nice comfortable rooms. Lots of restaurants to choose from and a nice bar too. Staff is efficient and courteous. Nice workout room and pool area.

Confusing atmosphere. . . I wasn't carded once for anything. Kind of relieving, but also shocking at the same time. I am a young adult, smaller than most (around 5'9) and I have a full beard.. However when I go out I'm probably carded at half of the places I go. The places that don't card me at least look at me and size me up... This place was secured by kids! young adult (most younger than me) security guards. There were a ton of children with their parents in the place. Not to mention the 18yr olds gambling away their college tuition, most of them were drunk. The fire alarm was pulled twice during my visit. It was a circus... Not sure if I will be returning anytime soon!

Due to the government allowing Native American tribes to have gambling casinos, strange things sometimes happen, like having a huge casino/hotel in the middle of nowhere... Such is the case with Soaring Eagle. You drive past small strip malls and empty fields, then BAM, a giant hotel casino, complete with giant video sign out front, just like you'd see in Vegas (though about half sized). The casino itself is the best tribal casino I have ever seen. You would be hard-pressed to find a better one in the mid-west. It is large, the decor is nice, and it is maintained very well. It's not quite the glitz and glamor of some of the Vegas casinos, but it's definitely on the nice side. SOARING EAGLE HAS ONE HUGE DRAWBACK: THEY STILL ALLOW SMOKING. This is why I will never give them a 5/5 review. I am withholding that final star until they eliminate smoking in the casino (just as all the restaurants/bars/public places do in the state). They are given an exception to the state's ban on public smoking, because they are tribal. I wonder if they realize how much business they lose because of this? I have numerous friends, co-workers, and family who actively avoid Soaring Eagle because of the smoke. What a shame. We would attend the casino (and events at the casino) MUCH more often if they did not allow smoking!! The rooms are nice. Everything was clean, and looked practically new! Unfortunately, the bathroom had no window, and no exhaust vent. Where is the bad air supposed to go? Beyond that, the rooms are nice. I've eaten in two of the restaurants on property. Both were nice. CAUTION... The hotel/casino has a VERY sprawling layout! If you are with someone who is not very mobile (and doesn't have a scooter), it may be a problem. The distance from a room to the diner in the casino has to be several football fields long. This hotel definitely skews towards older guests (like most Native casinos), however the pool and the kids zone/arcade have lead to families visiting as well. Young singles... Sorry, this isn't the place for you. BOTTOM LINE: The best tribal casino I have ever seen. Great in almost every way, except that it is often as smokey as an ash tray.

This review is for the casino. It's a horrible place to gamble if you like slots. They tightened them up a lot since last year. They took out all the certified hot slots. I didn't see anyone win anything while I was there. I didn't hit for even a few dollars. Anyone who knows soaring eagle knows they were known for their tight slots. They added hot slots with higher paybacks to win customers back. They were good than. But those are all long gone. And they raised drink prices in the casino. Drinks used to be cheap there. Now they doubled in price. I won't be back. Its just a place to donate money now. Not saying that you won't win but it'll be harder than it was just last year. Save your money!

We stayed overnight on Christmas day. The hotel room was really nice for a pretty decent price. There is plenty of space in the room. There was a nice flat screen tv and very comfortable beds. I really, really liked the fact that they had set aside time for there to be kid-free swimming at the pool! I love kids but not when they are screaming and splashing in the Jacuzzi when I am trying to unwind. There is a pretty good selection of food and beverage options. As far as the casino goes I'm not impressed. The slots are old. The slots are crammed in so closely together it is next to impossible to go down the isles. The payouts sucked. I would get the bonus round (playing 60 cents a hit) and get $1.80 win...big deal! The most I won in a bonus was $33.00. I played $1.50 a hit on a slot, lost $44.00 finally got a bonus and it gave me $4.50 - oh, do bite me!

I've been here twice in the last 2 years, and the place has pretty much stayed the same. The first time, I didn't spend much time inside the casino/hotel because I was there to attend a concert in their outdoor pavilion. Just for the non-smokers, this place allows smoking, so be prepared to walk out of there smelling like it. Not a huge fan of that, but hey, what can you do? It's an Indian-owned casino. The food options range from cafe, snack bar, Italian, fancy schmancy steak house, and a buffet. Their buffet has a seafood night where you can get crab legs, but you have to pay an additional $10 to the existing $23 price tag. I did not partake in eating at the buffet, but from the looks of it, it looked less than amazing. The prime rib roast, however, looked awesome. Desserts were meh, and I didn't feel that the $23 was warranted in the quality and choices of food. In terms of the casino, there are plenty of slot machine games. More than table games, and most of them are current. Did not gamble, but I couldn't help but notice that most of the players did not look happy. Perhaps they were watching their funds slowly diminish? lol However, there are plenty of signs around the casino floor that show that there are, indeed, winners. I haven't personally been in the rooms either, but I've heard that they are okay. Overall, this place is a nice addition for Mid-Michigan. The location is relatively close to Downtown Mt. Pleasant as well, so you can escape the smoke if you feel like it. Since I'm not a gambler, I'll only come back here if I have an event to attend.

My wife really enjoyed the spa, and I had about 5 hours of fun at the roulette table! Jacuzzi tub in the room was a huge bonus! I wasn't a fan of paying for drinks while gambling...but oh well. The banana split at Legend's was a great way to finish the evening...easily sharable for 2-3 people!

I am only reviewing the casino. Where should I start? The machines? They are super tight. I was here with a group of 10 and not one of us even had a shot. I accept that I will likely lose my money, I just want to be able to play for a while before it happens. I suppose saying the machines are tight is a personal issue. However, what is not is the fact that they machines are dated. There are some newish ones but the majority are all the new breed, full screen to get anything and boring games. It makes my hometown casino game selection look decent and that is a sad thing. The building itself is fairly nice looking. For the other reviewers saying the place looks run down please don't go to any Wisconsin or Illinois casinos because you'll think they are trashed. Really though, it isn't horrible. It is slightly smokey. There are multiple bars around. I was approached by waitresses multiple times. Good job. The crowd is what you'd expect for a casino especially on a Sunday night. Overall the place is just blah. I won't be coming back. Maybe if they loosen up the slots and get some modern machines in I may consider it.

You have to pay for your drinks while gambling at this casino. Really? That's the only thing I didn't like about this casino. Other than that, just your typical average casino. We stayed in the Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park, so I cannot comment on the Hotel rooms. The RV park was nice with a small lake and ammenities, such as kayak and canoe rentals, fishing (with a $10 seven day permit) and a like comfy clubhouse. Plus, a free shuttle every half hour to the casino. RV Parking was a bit pricey at around $60 per night.

I think this hotel must have been nice way back in the day. I did like the Native American pieces around the lobby, however, it was so much like a low-budget Atlantis/cruise type of a resort with wal-mart clientele. My husband booked one night on business thinking it was the nicest place in mount pleasant, but we ended up checking out the same evening. Too smoky, odd crowd & the food at Isabella's was typical of this type of resort. Just mediocre at best. I would have opted for fast food or a local restaurant had I known. The room was so dated and the penthouse had moldy, water stained drapes - DISGUSTING. I am allergic to mold so we checked out & went to the more recently renovated Hampton inn down the street. I am not from Michigan, so maybe the resort is considered "nice" here but I would advise people to enjoy the recreational activities but dine/room elsewhere. I will take a clean, lower brand, renovated hotel over this place. In addition, I don't think anyone was younger than 75, and if they were....let's just say it was an interesting mix.

Went this weekend. Nothing spectacular. I'm not a smoker, and even in our nonsmoking room, we constantly smelled smoke. The rooms were clean and neat, a nice size as well. The bathroom is huge. Nice pricing. Was surprised to see sooooo many children in the hotel, particularly because the smoke lingers everywhere except by the doors leading outside. Casino was nice, under construction. Won some money, lost some money :-) The food was average. Isabella's was okay, but our server was unbelievably nice. The Native American art is the best asset of his hotel. Absolutely beautiful. The hotel is so plain, however, I'm not sure how they get such big acts. Probably won't go back.

I had the recent pleasure of attending a concert at the outdoor pavilion of the Soaring Eagle casino. As the casino is located three hours from my humble abode, we decided to do it up right and spend the night after the concert was finished. Long gone are the days I can scream and dance for four hours and have enough energy for a three-hour drive afterward. The Soaring Eagle Casino is located in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. For those of you who do not live in the immediate area, it is set off to the side and tucked slightly into the woods--it is not located in the midst of a throbbing metropolis. This means that you can feel free to leave your troubles behind and indulge yourself, even if but for a few hours. From the moment we drove down the beautifully landscaped, nicely maintained approach, we knew we were in for a spectacular experience. The well-lit parking lot is set up to make finding your vehicle easy after an evening of gambling. Walking in through the grand entrance, we stopped for a brief moment to take in the natural stone tile lining the walkways and walls of the main lobby area. The feeling as we entered was one of anticipation and elegance, enhanced by the smiles of the patrons and staff moving purposefully across the occasional plush carpet that lined the main hall and surrounded the adjacent atrium, complete with fireplace. We approached the front desk to check in, and within one minute were being given the key cards to our room by a very friendly and smiling clerk. She also gave us a map of the casino and surrounding outside entertainment areas. This came in handy, as the casino looks smaller from the outside than it really is. We found our room easily. And a lovely room it was. The same natural tile floor as in the lobby is in the bathroom and entryway. Upon immediate inspection, an ironing board and iron were tucked into one of the closets. A king-sized bed occupied the main room, along with one of the largest televisions I have ever seen in a hotel room. Desk and chair, a two-person intimate seating area with plush footstool, a mini-fridge and a room safe were all at our immediate disposal. The bathroom was a cut above average, with a complete in-room coffee service and Bed, Bath and Body Works toiletries alongside all of the luxurious towels. The room was very clean and well-maintained. Being a bit hungry after the drive, we dropped off our stuff and headed back downstairs to see what we could find to eat. If I had one downside to the experience, it would be that the available food/restaurants lack much in overall quality. Being diabetic, I cannot eat cheap carbs or processed foods, so this severely restricted our options. There were two restaurants (in the classic sense) on the premises and there was a long line for one, and we were ignored for five minutes at the other. So, off we went to find something to relieve our rumbling bellies. We ended up eating a cheap (in every sense of the word) salad and some 'prime rib' out of an overpriced prime rib sandwich while spending a few minutes people-watching at the nearby slot machines. Please be aware that the casino is a smoking establishment. With that being said, even though we were there on a Saturday the ventilation system was working well because there were only a few times when we smelled cigarette smoke. So, soon it was time to toddle off to our concert at the outdoor pavilion. We made our way through the main casino (a very odd setup, really, to get outside) and after a short walk we were there. It was a basic outdoor setup, with concession stands to each side of the seating areas and a large SRO 'hill' to the rear of the pavilion. There was a temporary floor in the uncovered pavilion and seating was VERY close quarters. As the concert progressed, I was very impressed with the sound quality. Even though we sat to the right of the stage, all of the seats were good seats. None were behind poles, or were obstructed visually in any way. The concessions were priced about average to any other concessions around. Nothing really to report there. Back upstairs after the concert, we fell exhaustedly into bed and slept very well. In the morning, we made coffee in our room, stared out the large window and watched the remnants of concert goers and gamblers wandering through the parking lot toward their vehicles to head back to their lives. We decided to spend an hour or two before checking out partaking of the slots. I have to say, that for a casino that allows smoking, the slot room was very clean and orderly. Security was a very present force, and everyone seemed to be having a great time, despite it being exquisitely early on a Sunday morning. We had such a good experience overall at the Soaring Eagle that we plan on being back soon. The only difference would be next time we will being food with us to avoid eating on the premises.

I'm gonna start by saying I am 18 years old and love to gamble! This is the only casino in Michigan that allows anyone 18 and up to gamble. I've been here once and really enjoyed my time there at the casino. The video slot selection is very large, the majority of the casino, which is one floor. The table selection is not bad either. I stuck with the slots most of the time though (minimum blackjack bet is $5, lost $20 in 6 hands :( oh well). The rewards card is pretty good too, triple points on Sundays, and they give you $10 free credit with sign-up. Staff was very friendly, and security (being 18) was super kind and had even had some humor. The majority of gamblers were elderly (we were there mid-day on a weekday), and there were a few smokers but it was not bad. I did not try any of the restaurants and did not stay the night (21 and up to rent a room). At the end of the day I ended up gaining $300 dollars so I was quite happy, but I would have enjoyed it just as much breaking even :). I plan on going again in the next couple weeks. When I turn 19 I plan on making the very short trip to Caesars Windsor, and trying my luck there as well.

It's hard to impress me with a casino considering I live in Las Vegas, but Soaring Eagle is great for what it is. I came out here for a Heartland Poker Tour event in November '11 and had a great stay. The rooms are really nice... flat screen TVs, couches, coffee maker, glass tops on the night stands that you can chip your tooth on (I speak from experience, duh). As for the casino, well it's a casino, so what do you expect? Poker room seems pretty active, and the tournament was held in a ballroom that accommodated over 500 players. There's a decent number of low-priced food options, though the lines can get a bit long. There's also a free soda station in the casino, or you can get drinks from the waitress. Alcoholic beverages are reasonably priced at the bars, too. It's in the middle of friggin' nowhere to me so I probably won't be back anytime soon, but it was definitely an unexpectedly tolerable weekend.

The hotel is nice and seemed relatively clean and up to date. The pool area was also pretty cool as well. The casino itself has so many slot machines and table games that you don't really know what to play. But it doesn't really matter because they all do the same anyways, they take your money. I've eaten in just about every restaurant in the casino and none are really that special. The Water Lily Lounge had some pretty tasty food though.

Fairly nice hotel. Very smoky in spots. Concert experience was fair. The food alongside the casino leaves a lot to be desired. Rooms are nicely done, but the hallways and public areas need to be renovated soon. Will not return soon due to the smoke issues.

How fun is this place? In the middle of nowhere and perfect pit stop as you head towards up north. Go to the penny machines, we won $60 and everyone around us seemed to be struck by good luck as well. For all you smokers! You can smoke inside of there.

I enjoyed my stay at their casino and hotel very much. They started at about $220/night but I felt it was worth it. The suites are very spacious and we also had a jacuzzi room. Everything was very clean and comfy. Staff was very prompt and friendly. We had a very easy check in and checkout is simply dropping your key in a box. The breakfast in bed was the best and quite affordable. The casino was just okay to me. The bartenders and waiters were all nice and fairly quick but as for the cleanliness around the games and tables, I'd have to give them two stars. Not to mention the payout wasn't very good either! We will definitely go back and most likely stay in their hotel again.

I've been to this casino a handful of times. Whenever someone in the family turns 18, we usually head up to the Soaring Eagle. The casino is well kept and clean and the air is usually breathable, unlike the casinos downtown. It generally seems like a lot of older people. Old, older people. You will see fanny packs by the dozen and "World's Greatest Grandma" tshirts on every other person...maybe there was a grandma competition in town, I don't know. It is definitely a casino I go to with family and not to really cut loose and go wild, but I still have fun everytime I go.

The free rooms for veterans are never available. The casino has a "Hero" players club card that supposedly gives a free room one night a month to veterans. The dates have to be from Sunday through Thursday, which is understandable, but there are never any rooms available. Total BS, if you're going to make the offer then stand by it.

My wife and I stayed at the resort and loved it! The room service was fantastic as was the food. We aren't casino fans but we did play the slots a little, our only complaint was that to get to the non-smoking section you have to walk THROUGH the smoking area. That makes no sense at all. The eats range from really good to meh. The FireFly Buffet is great, full of different foods with staff on hand to keep the area clean at all times. The Lounge is also great for some simple eatery and the waiting staff was super nice. Isabella's is my only issue, the Italian food just didn't satisfy me nor my wife. Also, Soaring Eagle, it's 2012- you have HDTV's in the rooms how about some HD channels??

Jammed so many slots into the building that you can't walk down the rows. Seemingly poor pay outs. Lots N lots of security walking around

I don't gable yet I love Soaring Eagle. My friends and I stay here once a year before the Wheatland Music Festival. You can get either a double queen or a single king with a huge tub in the living room area here for $140. They have a huge indoor pool that no one uses, because they are all 80 and playing slots, along with a kick ass outdoor hot tub. Rooms have always been clean with a nice bathroom and lots of towels. Their are also plenty of places to drink near by if sitting in a stuffy casino isn't your thing. It's only a $15 cab ride into the CMU area.

Plenty of slots, plenty of blackjack and poker table. I mainly stayed with the roulette. The only thing missing was the free drinks that i had at other casinos. Security is very tight, they can see all your moves, dealers sometimes had attitudes, probably from working many hours and late hours. Was never able to get a room, according the brochure they had prices starting at $99 a night for a room, but was never able to book a room.

This review is of the restaurant (buffet) We were out for a drive on Sunday afternoon and stopped by the casino because we have found that casinos generally have better than average restaurants. This buffet had a good selection, however the food was just not all that good. The fried chicken was greasy, and the carved ham looked very tasty, but it tasted like maybe it had been steamed rather than baked. It was tender, but seemed to have a strange texture. My wife thought that the fried clams were tough, however I thought that they were fine. The mashed potato's were tasteless, and the dinner rolls were not fresh. The dessert area was the high point of our dinner. My wife brought back a slice of Almond cake which was very good and a coconut bar that was also very tasty. At $15 per it was over priced. Service was good and prompt. I would not stop here again, as there has to be better places to eat in the area.

Review is for the whole casino including the hotel, the resort part (spa, gift shops, pool), casino, and food. Casino: Typical feeling of an Indian casino. A lot of old people, a lot of cigarette smoke, a lot of motorized scooters, and a lot of oxygen tanks. Friday seems to be the day where the seniors get there in morning and go to have fun. I have always played slots and for the most part have been pretty happy. I enjoy their machines, they always seem to be working, there is never a whole group of them down for service (MGM Grand Detroit). Table games are available but they are not as busy as the slots. If you are looking for quieter and strictly slot environment head on over across the street to the 'Slot Palace'. Security is stricter at the Slot Palace but it was worth the winnings. Security was pretty lean-lent at the main casino. You see guards walking around but they are not stern and pissed off looking but rather friendly and in a good mood. Some watch the jackpot hits and bonus rounds on the slots and will talk to you. There is a free drink station (I do see how it is easy to miss though) in the center of the casino there is a Keno area and if you walk around towards the other side (parking garage side) you will see a soda fountain. The non-smoking section is pretty small. Food: The Deli by the casino floor has good food, I have not had the buffet though have herd bad stories from people who have especially the salad bar. The deli always has good sandwiches and subs and usually is good enough for me (or the McDonalds down the road) Hotel: Beds were very comfortable, rooms were nice and clean, there were plenty of pillows, a lot of towels in the bathroom and they were nice and updated and clean. Flat screen HDTVs and free WiFi are nice also. Resort: The spa I have not been in yet although the gift shops sell a wide variety of things from souvenirs, the Indian memorabilia, ect. The workout room was nice, good set of equipment, nice set of weights, enough to keep you in shape during your stay. The pool and hot tub were fantastic and clean and the outdoor hot tub is amazing in the chilly fall or winter air. I wish they had a sauna though in the pool area that would top things off just right. Parking: Parking is always plentiful in the parking lot or even in the parking garage. I found the garage easy to drive through and find your way out of.

Soaring Eagle is offering a lot promotional discounts to get you to stay and gamble there. The place is beautiful and well kept. My wife enjoys there older slot machines and the 2 jacuzzis. The only bad news is that the promotions bring in families with kids during the summer. There is a cash bar in the Casino (no free drinks) and the one of the gift shops sells beer and liquor. There are 4 restaurants and a coffee shop that sell pastry and several varieties of bread by the loaf.

The rooms here are nice but the facilities and help leaves a lot to be desired. The fitness center only has two treadmills, and the hours of access are not convenient for the business traveler. The staff is not familiar with the operation of the hotel. For example, one employee told me the spa was open 6 AM to midnight, when I went down at 6AMi was told they open at 9 AM. When I inquired at the front desk the gentleman their just blew me off. There are too many other option in MI to put up with this kind of BS. Next time we'll do our planning session in Detroit and take our business to a hotel that appreciates their clients.

LIving in California I have seen first hand the quality that can be delivered by a sovereign nation at their resorts and casinos. Unfortunately, we caught them at a bad time or they've become complacent. Our dinner at their italian restaurant Isabella's delivered entrees that we're void of flavor and a bit cold (the plates were really hot, but the food was not). We were placed in a hospitality suite and while I understand that for these rooms host parties, it was still a really tired room. The thing that irked me the most was that their was mildew stains on most of the grout in the shower and the pull out coach felt like it was more of an Ikea product than a hotel given for Diamonds by AAA. And lastly, they really promoted their pool and how they piped music underwater -- barely heard it. To say the least I was really hoping for something special, but what I received was a product that clearly feels no competition from other hotels and is just going through the motions.

The only problem I have with this casino is the many rude dealers with nasty attitudes. I go about 3-4 times a year and it is always the same. Every year this place gets emptier and emptier as well. It was dead on a Friday afternoon. You should find plenty of open tables as there are hardly any patrons left from its heyday 10 years ago.

This Casino was cool and fun when i was 18 and when they had no other options around. I primarily play poker when available at casinos and the poker room standards and quality of dealers are way behind firekeepers(maybe because they keep all their own tips at FK) the property itself is beautiful but overall this place is played out..

My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights, a Sunday and Monday night. We stayed on the summer suprises get a way package. We got a superior room for $158 dollars a night. It included $20 in casino per person per night for a total of $40 each. The room was very nice, clean and spacious. It did not include a jacuzzi. It did have a fireplace and a large deep soaking pedestal tub. Bed was very comfortable. The tolietries were from bed bath and beyond. One very annoying thing was the amount of kids there.

I'm spoiled from having lived in New England near Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. That said, this place is all right. Heck, for Michigan, it's pretty good (and I lived in MI for years so I can say that). Fun for an evening or afternoon out with friends.
