Yesterday i dropped in here, and browsed the shelves while the staff were having fun just before closing. I chose a chocolate cake and a Madeline and could not be happier. chocolate cake is surely a genoise made in the style of black forest cake, (just missing cherries), very soft and delicious. Madelines were very light, buttery with the subtle sweetness. I might have found my favorite here.

These are FABULOUS doughnuts! Had blueberry with maple glazed & topped with bacon sprinkles. Wow. Also doughnut with chocolate frosting sprinkled with coconut, nuts & chocolate chips. PLUS great coffee, pies, cakes, cookies and bread! Also soup & sandwich.

First time I came to Robaire Bakery I had their Turkey Pot Pie. I have to say, it's probably the best pot pie I've every tasted. The place has a very mom & pop feel. The regulars go there for their daily lunch meal which you can't experience anywhere else. Everything they make is practically homemade, very tasty and just all around good place to go for breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner. If you're deciding on which to order, you can't go wrong with their Turkey Pot Pie. Give this place a try and experience the wonders of a family owned establishment.

Used Robaire's for a graduation cake the other day. We purchased a carrot cake. By far the worst cake we have ever had. This was the census by all our guests.

Robaire's is perhaps best known for its breads and wonderful, fancy French pastries, but its lunches are great -- awesome soups and sandwiches (I especially like the salad mixtures, like the egg and tuna salads. And don't fear the potato dumpling soup -- it may sound like a starchy carbohydrate-palooza, but it's very savory and addicting ). It's not a huge lunch menu, but it's homemade and yummy. I used to take my mom here during our excursions to Mt. Pleasant. I only wish that Robaire's were in a different location -- it's hidden in a tatty strip mall that's seen its day, and Robaire's is really the only compelling reason to stop there.
