I really like Señor Cactus, but I don't really like Mexican food. If you like Mexican food, you might be less thrilled. Their chicken chimichangas are pretty basic but awesome (in my opinion). Just chicken on the inside, lettuce, tomato and cheese on the outside. I like them simple like that.

It's as if Stalin had designed a Mexican restaurant. The bartender couldn't make a margarita, the chips were stale and the salsa tasted tinny. The atmosphere is as gloomy as a tomb and the only people hanging around are barflies.

Yuck! Gave them a try for a late Saturday lunch and deeply regret the visit. We were the only people in the restaurant and I quickly found out why. The salsa is disgusting, it is definitely from a jar..a really nasty jar. We ordered some "Senor Cactus Queso Dip" to go with the chips which tasted sour. Never had sour cheese, first time for everything! Ordered the wet burrito which was incredibly dry and tasteless. All ingredients were clearly the cheapest money can buy and not remotely fresh. Service was acceptable and waitress was pleasant. This is my second visit to a "mexican" restaurant in the Monroe area and both have been a terrible attempt. I have ate at 100s of mexican restaurants around this country and in mexico and have some that I like more than others but most all have been acceptable save for my two Monroe mistakes.

Truly awful. There were four of us, only one other table seated. The service was pretty bad. The food was even worse. Only one of our orders was correct. The salsa is definitely from a can. The food is definitely not freshly prepared. I did not take my leftovers.
