Take it as you will: -Service is good, food was timely, about 3 other tables -Food temp, taste and presentation was good. I had Perch, wife had Chix Marsala. -Ate at about 6:30, threw up violently at 11 and Midnight. I eat leftovers 2 wks old and have a cast-iron stomach....ie something was bad, very bad. Wife did not get sick. -Atmosphere is a total Hodgepodge & playing Christmas music in June....some might find offensive. -Bathroom was dated, but clean -Prices are fair to lil high. Perch dinner was $20. -Clientele is mostly Senior.

I ordered carryout from here, deciding to take a chance. The hostess who took my order was nice and very helpful. They told us it'd be about 10-15 minutes, and when I arrived the order was ready. Everything was boxed nicely, marked appropriately, and she was quick and efficient and getting me taken care of. So I can agree with the other reviewers that the service can be good. When I saw the inside of this place, I knew it was either going to be the most amazing food we had, or the worst. Sadly, it didn't really live up to the hype of being around for years. This is another classic case of "Old people food" vs younger generations. The food didn't have a ton of seasoning, didn't have a lot of flavor, and overall just didn't wow me for the prices that they charge. The french onion soup was VERY dark (like it could have been old soup dark) and didn't taste that great. My pasta was bland and boring, the spaghetti wasn't anything special. It was all edible, and my husband enjoyed his veal scallopene, but other than that it was just, meh. You got a choice of pasta, potato, or vegetable. When I asked what the vegetable was, they said "green bean casserole". Sadly, green bean casserole is NOT a vegetable really. I paid an upcharge to get some asparagus, which was covered in cheese (a way I've never seen asparagus prepped). I don't think I'll be going there again, but I wish the nice people there good luck.

I have been going to Joes French Italian for a long time and I've always found that the food is hit or miss. This place has been open for a very long time and could use some updating as well. The Mediterranean perch is consistently good I have found and they is generally my go-to dish. The wait staff is always very friendly as well.

Pretty good food. Came here with a groupon. The crowd was older but the good was fast, hot and tasty. Prices are reflective of a family owned Italian restaurant. You will spend a coupe more dollars compared to your bill at Olive Garden, but worth it. I had the veal Marsala and he, the New York strip with shrimp. We will probably come back. They'd probably be more successful if they mixed up their marketing and perhaps updated their dated dining room.

My wife & I went here with a Groupon, & it was phenomenal! We will definitely go back, & even though it's on the pricey side we won't have any complaints about paying full price. The service was some of the best we've ever experienced. My prime rib was incredible. I ordered it medium rare & it was so tender, juicy, & full of flavor I didn't even use the A1. I actually apologized to the waitress for asking her to get it in the first place!

I tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday. Really the only good thing about this restaurant was the wait staff. Everyone was so nice and on top of their game. However, the thing that mattered the most, the food, was very "meh". I ordered the prime rib and it was ehh okay, nothing special. My boyfriend got the ribeye which was cut surprisingly thin for a ribeye and was not seasoned at all. Again, nothing special there. And while decor usually doesn't matter so much when the food is good, this time it was kind of ridiculous what was going on in there. I couldn't wrap my head around their attempted theme with stained glass windows of saltwater fish with white trellises on the walls and draped chains on the ceiling leading to an old light fixture. Also, something I didn't quite understand, where I was sitting they had the bottom half of the wall with white trellises and the top half painted black with clear glass panels over top of the wall?? I don't even know what was going on there. Again, decor usually doesn't matter so much but this was just confusing and unfortunately the food did not compensate. Again, wait staff excellent but food meh. Just a few little touchups to the place and it could really be nice.

Bad experience New Years Eve 2014 20 minutes waiting just to have order taken. Almost everyone in our party ordered prime rib which is good normally however they told us they were out of baked potatoes when taking the order. How can you be out of baked potatoes at 7:30 at night. So we ordered other sides like pasta or the veggie. Another 20 minutes passes and they come out and tell us sorry out of prime rib. We made reservations in advance like others you would figure they would know how much food to have on hand just based on reservations. We have eaten there many times before but this is the last. Don't waste your time

I grew up down the road from this place. I remember all the fancy cars that packed the parking lot and the patrons in suits and dresses in the 80's, always assumed the place was pretty upscale back then. Nowadays, not so many expensive cars and a t shirt and shorts is just fine it seems, but the food and service are still top shelf. We stopped in last weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed my New York strip and shrimp. Definitely going to return.

I also had a groupon and agree with most these reviews. I ordered a filet medium and after eating about 1/4 of it realized it looked more rare. So I just boxed the rest up and took it home. When I took it out to eat it the next day I noticed it wasn't rare but not cooked in the center at all.... Yuck. I just hope I don't get sick. It is also a lot of older people and it is out dated for sure. The waitstaff was excellent. The rest of our food was just ok. The steak could use some seasoning and one of the grilled cheese my kids ordered was a little burnt. I think this place could defiantly use Gordon Ramsey's help on Kitchen Nightmares.

Hubby and I decided to try this place despite a previous reviewer stating that Joe's is living off a fictional reputation. Couldn't agree more. We could not believe the sad state of the "salad"--very little green in it, mostly brown and white. I ordered the NY Strip Steak and was flabbergasted that I had to choose between a potato and a vegetable--don't you normally get both with an entree, especially at these prices?? There was so much fat in the steak it looked like I had only eaten about half of it...guess I can understand why the waitress asked if I wanted it boxed to take home. LOL! Hubby's lasagna was fair...later he experienced a little gastro issue...hard to say, but his dinner seems the likely suspect. Can't even say the service was good, our waitress seemed tired and unenthused. Our guests said their meals (chicken parmesan and shrimp/perch combo) were good.

Joe's F-I has been living off a fictional reputation. Yes, it's been there a long time, and may have been great at one time, but not in the last 25 years. Some of our grandparents may remember it being fabulous back in the 50s and 60s. The prime rib is a safe bet and is quite average. How hard is it to do prime rib and baked potatoes properly? The atmosphere and decor are nice, and I can see why it still attracts the blue-hairs and milkshakes, but for the money, you can do a lot better. They have recently stopped their lunch service, probably due to the Obama "recovery".

Disappointing. Chicken piccata was swimming in sauce, salad was browning iceberg, and pasta w meat sauce was bland. Service was nice. Nice interior.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
