Mission: date night with husband for first time in 4 months. Objective: great food and relaxing atmosphere. Mission objective status: fail on great food, succeed on relaxing atmosphere. Me: glass of wine, pollo parmesan with house salad. Him: long island, rigatoni pasta with tomato sauce with spicy peppers and sausage. Drinks were good. My wine was on the higher side at $12. His was $7.50. Server Peter was great at keeping our drinks refilled and checking in at all the right times. Salad/soup and bread comes with most entrees. It costs $2.00 extra to get a Caesar instead of house but on their menu, house is only $1 cheaper than Caesar. Makes no sense! The "bread" was not what I expected at all, my husband said it was like hungry howie's howie bread. All of the marinara I tried was bland and tasteless. My chicken was decent, my green beans were like eating salt sticks and my potatoes were just as unfulfilling. The best part of my meal was my house salad which had a balsamic vinagrette. My husbands meal consisted of an orange sauce with rigatoni pasta with pickled bell peppers and red pepper flakes. He also chose to add sausage which he described as being tasteless. The plus is that our server was fantastic and the restaurant is super cozy and the ambiance is fabulous which is why I give two stars! But for $65 with tip, I expected more and better from this restaurant. This is one Italian restaurant we will not be returning to.

Honestly, anything that could have went wrong did. The and food were both bad. First we were never offered bread, we had to ask after our dinner came. Dinner here is several courses and our plates were not cleared at all. We had to ask for drink refills, all of us. My chicken piccata was dry and all I could taste was lemon the sauce really lacked. My another person ordered eggplant parm- it was so tough she could hardly cut through it. Someone else received crunch risotto. My husband ordered a steak and had to wait 10 min just to ask for a steak knife (I have been to dinner with my husbands family many times and this is the first time Ive ever seen them complain) it was just all around bad.

The food here is just okay.... You pay a LOT for it, and you eat on a table that serves your food not on a normal cloth, tablecloth, but on a long white tucked in paper sheet, which makes you feel more like you are at a doctor's office, than a high-end restaurant! It really quite unnerves you. While eating the long paper sheet table "cloth" comes undone and shakes and crinkles all around sloppily while you eat and makes this terrible sound, very like the noise of the crackling from the paper of the doctor's office bed-paper they change after the next patient, but louder! YIKES! The desserts are decent and the fountain drinks are good, but all this for $14.00 a meal and up, Go to Klancy's down the street and get yourself some rice-pudding and a far-east asian wrap! Save you the money and the cringe of this place!!!

This was an unexpected find. When we walked in for lunch, our first thought was oh my this looks expensive... Not a good thought when you just bought a mother of the brides dress and a shower dress for a wedding. Anyways, we asked for a menu before sitting and seen that the prices were very reasonable, so don't be intimidated by the fancy looking decor and quaint appeal. The restaurant it's self was very tiny, but I think there was an upper floor to it as well. It was very cute on the inside, set up like a fancy little cafe. There menu had a lot to offer including salads, soups, pizzas, sandwiches, and entrees. I ordered the half Italian sandwich and side salad for around $7, and it was delicious! The salad was extremely fresh and came with a delicious house made balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The sandwich was amazing also, it had some Italian meats on it with diced tomatoes, and pepperceni's. The bread the sandwich was on was very fresh and delicious as well. I ended up clearing my plate, and that almost never happens, that's how good their food was. My mother ordered a chicken sandwich with a garlic sauce on it and waffle fries for around $8ish. She said that the sandwich was great as well. The waffle fries were home cooked, not frozen from a bag, and they were great as well (I had a few of them). She also cleared her plate. Her comment was something along the lines of "you know the foods good when both the plates leave the table clean." Overall, our total bill came out to $19 for the two sandwiches and drinks, not bad for an excellent lunch. Most of the time we pay more when we go to Panera, and let met tell you, this was 100x better than Panera.

Pros: Good atmosphere. Small and quaint. Good lighting for a restaurant. We did not take advantage, but it looks like the bar downstairs is a great place to have a glass of wine and socialize. Also, a good place for a dinner for 2. Kinda cheesy, but Sinatra was playing. LOL. Cons: Food is ok. Nothing we had really impressed us. Kinda pricey, but I think its fine for the location and the atmosphere. Service is odd. Kinda slow and out of sequence - lots of things forgotten or delayed. Our waitress was nice, but flakey. She continued to forget what we asked for. I really think she was new at serving at a place like this. For example, we ordered and she left the menu's with us - even when serving an appetizer and there was no room - she left them. The bus person finally picked them up later. One us us had a dirty water glass, and my fork was dirty. Overall, I plan on going back to try a few more things. For example, the pizza. I had the Lasagna which was flagged as a specialty - it was ok. We tried the spedini (sp?) appetizer - I thought it was ok. Others did not. The bread they server before dinner is very good. Salad is average at best. The house Chianti is very good and reasonable. The marinara has capers in it and the aribiatta sauce has banana peppers in it creating a vinegar taste - so, little different that what we were used to in terms of sauce. My biggest complaint was the sequence of serving. I did not get a glass of wine until the appetizer came. Our waitress came by 3 times saying she was bringing our bread - and finally did about 3 minutes before the appetizer came - then immediately asked if we wanted to order. So, I think the beginning of our dining experience was poor, but it improved. Funny thing is, she brought the bill at the end of our meal, put it on the table, then asked if we wanted dessert. LOL. By then, we were full and ready to leave. We laughed.

First time at this restaurant. Went with family on a Sunday for lunch. The atmosphere is great and the food is tasty, but a bit pricey. Would recommend when searching for an Italian restaurant in the Milford area.

Been there twice on date night and loved it. The upstairs seating has a more private feeling to it. Red sauces were great , i need to go again soo. Nice to have a non chain Italian restaurant nearby.

This is a poor excuse for Italian food. Unable to eat my shrimp scampi. It was an odd concoction of slimy shrimp and over salted pasta. Much better choices in downtown Milford.

We had our wedding here last year, and it was the perfect location. The staff was helpful and the food was tasty and well received by our guests. We booked their room kinda last minute and it went off without a hitch. The small room upstairs was the perfect cozy setting for our intimate gathering of about 12 people. Love this place!

We love this place!! Best night to go is on "wine down Wednesday" where bottles of wine are 1/2 price. Another favorite is the meat and cheese platter- we love to mix up the meat and cheese options. Kids love their food as well!! Also, have found on a few occasions if there is something special you'd like that's not on menu (menu is huge) , the chefs will do there best to accommodate. You really can't go wrong with anything you order...big portions and great food!! Close to home and a family favorite!!

We booked a celebration of life here for my father in law. Albeit, we GUESSED the attendance would be 30, but we had NO WAY of truly knowing. When more than twice that showed up, everyone was understanding except the manager who could NOT let it go. She made snide comments about my grieving wife, which is unforgivable. The waiter was nice and worked with is well, but we'll NEVER return based solely on the manager. Food is okay, not great.

This place needs to watch Lydia on public television to figure out what really is Italian. Our first visit for dinner all three entrees were over salted to the point where I should have sent it back, my guest was polite and left most of her meal. The second time for lunch was just as uninspiring. Although the artichoke appetizer was cooked to perfection, the arugula salad was a heap of greens in a bowel with vinaigrette dumped on top and a few shaves of parmigiana Reggio. I dumped it out on a large plate tossed it with black pepper. The tomatoe bisque was very tart and lacked the creaminess on my palate of what a bisque should be. There are better place close by.

Prices were respectable for a downtown Milford joint serving up good food in a psuedo-classy atmosphere. Waitress was attentive and food was delicious. A little ridiculous to expect grandma to walk up the flight of stairs, but the dining area upstairs is seemingly larger than downstairs. Plus watching a waiter drop an entire tray of food after missing the top step was kind of tragic.

I really enjoy Coratti's. The food, the service, the atmosphere. It's a nice place to relax and enjoy good food. We also enjoy the Mothers day brunch and Easter Brunch!!! Great variety and delicious food! Outdoor seating in the summer is also a pleasant option!

Main Street in Milford is home to many fabulous restaurants, but one of my long time favorites is a place created by a passionate, Italian brother- sister collaboration, Coratti's on Main. From the fresh bread & homemade marinara to the pasta and sauces that are so perfect, you know they're made from scratch, Coratti's knows how to serve up a meal you will come back for! located downtown Coratti's is extremely reasonably priced when taking into consideration the quality of food and portion size! My husband made a comment about how incredible his Filet was for $28.95, not to mention he got bread, a choice of soup or salad and a side of pasta to go with it. My "pick your pasta" dish ($14.95 for cheese filled tortellini (+$3.00) with palomino sauce and baked cheese (+$2.50) also came with a choice of soup or salad and fresh bread and was rich, creamy and cheesy. It was gigantic; I hardly made a dent in it. We started with the flaming asiago ($9.95) which is a cheese lover's dream!

We had a rehearsal dinner party in the basement here a week ago, and I have to say that I was pretty impressed. First, the servers were very nice and helpful in making drink selections. Also, the food was delicious. The main part of the restaurant was bustling, which made it feel like a nice little hot-spot in Milford. Come to think of it, the entire town was bustling, and it's Milford, on a Thursday? Things in the Detroit area have changed, that's for sure! Back to the food: salad, check (and I'm picky about my salads - this one had some goodies, and a decent dressing). I had the salmon w/ some veggies - which was lovely (salmon cooked to perfection, veggies cooked to perfection). The people eating the bread seemed to like it quite a bit, and the other appetizers disappeared quite quickly as well (though I did not participate). Overall, the entire group seemed happy.

The dinner fare at this restaurant is not good I will never go there for dinner or drinks ever again, however the cheesecake at this restaurant is made in a Detroit bakery and is my favorite dessert after eating at one of the other great restaurants in downtown Milford.

The main problem with Corattis on Main is that it is so awfully mediocre. It's not that the food is bad, it just isn't good. It's a shame too because this place is smack in the heart of downtown Milford and a has a great vibe. Sit outside or inside and the place really does have a nice atmosphere. The problem here isn't the service, location or help; it's the food. You'd think an Italian place could get spaghetti right, correct? Wrong. The pasta itself isn't bad but the chef here really needs to learn what real Italian sauce is. I can have better sauce out of a can at home so I've stopped ordering the spaghetti altogether whenever we venture out to Coratti's. Now, we mainly head over there for the appetizers. Order any pasta here and forget it - the sauces taste about what you'd get from a jar of Prego. If they actually make their own sauces they ought to taste it once in awhile. Watch any of the restaurant shows on TV (Gordon Ramsey's show, Restaurant Impossible, etc) and you'll soon be surprised to learn just how many chefs never seem to actually taste what they make! I've also had the Veal Piccata, which was passable but again, wasn't even as good as say Olive Garden's version, and that's not praise. The highlight of this menu is actually an appetizer, the Artichoke Tosca. Artichokes rolled and then slightly cooked or deep fried, served with a delicious sauce. Another great appetizer is the Mozzarrella Caprese with fresh tomatoes and mazarrella. The shame of this is we've lived in Milford off and on for 25 years. I had high hopes when this place opened and based this review on having been there a number of times over the past couple years, but each time I hoped they could finally get it right...well, the chef needs a lesson in what good Italian really is. The whole thing underscores what Chef Brian Polcyn, who owns Cinco Lagos almost across the street from Corattis, somehow missed - what Milford really needed was a place that served good Italian food, not something you might find in the aisle at Gordon Food Service.

I struggled with how to review this place. In the end I gave it four stars, because the food was quite good, but I could have downgraded it more based on the lousy service we received. We were there as part of a large party, and not only did the servers seem overwhelmed by us, clearly the restaurant is not well-equipped to accommodate large parties. For example, they brought one check for the entire table of about 16 people, and they refused to split the check. They said, "We don't do that for large parties." So they only split checks for small parties? Huh? The check was not organized in any logical way, so it was difficult for everyone to figure out what they ordered ("Which glass of Merlot did I order, the six dollar one or the 10 dollar one?") and add everything up and include the tip. In addition, our table rarely saw our server. The entire table had empty water glasses most of the meal. I tried to order another drink, but could never find our server. Setting aside all of those issues, we really enjoyed our food. It's typical Italian fare, but it is done very well. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their dishes, and they even had gluten-free pasta available for those who needed it. I would eat here again, but not with a large party.

I felt a great cozy atmosphere when we first walked in. I hadn't been in here since it was Appeteasers for years. Not much has changed since there isn't much room to change. It has three floors that are used to set a usually full restaurant. The wait staff was friendly and very knowledgeable, they have to be to tell you what Vitello Saltimboca is! The menu has huge selection of everything from Pizza to Lamb Chops in addition to a choice of 9 Sauces with 6 Pastas all in Regular, Gluten Free and Wheat as well! I tried the Eggplant Parmesan and it was unbelievable. The little Village of Milford has done it again pulling in great restaurateur's like the Coratti's. A truly enjoyable evening, you should try it.

I'd actually give it about a 3 and a half. I've been here a few times. The food is good. I had the chicken Renaldo. Too heavy but my brothers Chicken Marsala was great. Wine selection is good, drinks are about par. Nice atmosphere, wonderful walking location downtown Milford. Not too overpriced. One big plus is the overhead TV's above the doorway and above the bar, but not upstairs in the main dining room. I think the idea was Pete Coratti wanted a place where people could come and watch the game and have a drink at the bar or if they were going for a nice meal, they could be seated away from that atmosphere. I went with my fam for Mother's Day and it was a very nice time.

I went here a while ago, and saw the name on yelp and wanted to share my semi-memorable experience. Hopefully others had a more positive experience than me and my girlfriends. First of all it was dead in there , not complaining .... I was thinking the service would be faster then! Anywho, I ordered some portabella/mushroom sandwich, When our food came about 45 minutes later ... There were no mushrooms on it! Just peppers and cheese .... I'm a veggie, I want the damn mushys ! I think the waitress may have gotten confused bc my other friend ordered a different meal without mushrooms but for mine it was the main part of the sandwich! The waitress was verrrry sweet and apologetic though so there's that. So while all my friends were eating I was waiting for my portabella mushroom sandwich to come back with portabella on it .... 15 minutes later I get the sandwich I had somewhat mangled earlier while looking for my mushroom.... In return it ended up being cut up mushrooms and reheated with my bite in it from earlier. The fries were no longer crispy and my sandwich relatively soggy. The "chef" or whatever they have here, should know better considering they try/ARE a fancy restaurant and I was paying good money for this lovely sandwich. I don't normally complain but this place was off the charts and I'm never going back, nor are my friends i went with.

We love Coratti's. Numerous excellent real Italian dishes and service is always great. Authentic pastas, sauces, meats, etc. It's just solid food and service every time. Gross. That is all I have to say about the panini I got for lunch the other day. If you can even call it a panini? The salmon panini sounded so good on their menu (I had never been before and was getting carry out). Unfortunately it did not deliver. It was described as grilled salmon on foccacia with roasted red peppers and a dill aioli. Yes, it did have all of these components but they were disgusting. The sandwich was inedible, due to taste and to the fact that it fell apart all over the place the second I picked it up. I would not call that bread foccacia, nor would I call something a panini when it isn't even grilled together. I also got a cup of minestrone which they should be ashamed to serve. Needless to say, I will not be back here!

We had our wedding reception at Coratti's (in the lower level private room) and it was amazing! I recommend this place for events/parties or just for dinner or lunch.

Our first visit 2 years ago was outstanding...great food and service. Food not as good this time. Great service! Jenny was really helpful, attentive and humorous during a very busy time, 5pm to 7 pm during Milford Memories. Caprese appetizer was excellent, a very different and delicious presentation. Scallops $24 looked different than the picture on the website, they were darker and a bit mushy. I think they sat under the 'salamander infra-red' too long after cooking. They tasted good, however, but would not order them again. Risotto not freshly made....gummy and lukewarm. Veal Parmesan $22 was tasteless and tough..very disappointing. Bread is spectacular. Over-priced this trip for the meal we were served. Even so, I'd try again if I'm on Main street in Milford.

This is usually where I end up when looking for a decent fairly priced meal in Milford. There are a few with better tasting prepared dishes but at significantly higher prices. Corratti's is good. It's cozy, no glaring lights, the service is attentive and friendly. The italian selections have all been good for me, though I have yet to sample everything. But, I am happy Corratti's is open for biz!

I have eaten here 4 times now, and I have to say I love it. It is a little on the pricey side, but totally worth it. I have tried a few things on the menu, and I have never been disappointed. The Lasagna, pizza and Gnocchi pasta is GREAT! The service is good, and they have a nice wine list.

I am at about 3 and a half stars for Coratti's. This is a good place in Milford, the only serving a full Italian menu that I know of. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, and the service is always pretty solid. The location is also good, with free parking a block away. This time I tried something that I hadn't had before, and it was as good as anything else I have ordered there. For my appetizer I had battered and fried artichokes, but they weren't all that great. A little too gritty and stringy - not tender like I was hoping. Beware the fish dishes. They are very peppery, even though it's not noted on the menu. That's the only thing limiting a better review here, otherwise it would be four and a half. Still, they were very gracious about fixing the order - quickly. I'll be back.

I liked this spot a lot. Picture this: A snowy cold night. We have a second floor window table overlooking the snow flurries coming down shown through the lights, with the quiet downtown main street of Milford. Very quiet and top notch atmosphere!! Top notch Food. Top Notch Service. We will go back here again for sure! Good size serving portions too.

I've been here a few times when I have been back in MI to visit the family. The servers have always been friendly, nice and attentive. Everything I have ever order has been good, and portion sizes are large enough to have plenty of left overs. I recommend you get the tomato bisque if it is ever the soup of the day when you visit!! It was delightful. I'm sure this will remain a place I like to go eat when I come home to Michigan. Decently priced Italian & they also have some pretty good specials (even on wine).

Have never been disappointed and our kids are always asking for it. Easily one of the better Italian restaurants in the metro area. Really enjoyable sidewalk seating in the summer too.

We are so thankful to Michele (owners) and servers for putting together a great altmosphere for our event! The pizza is fabulous! I recommend this place for events/parties or just for dinner or lunch.

I really enjoy Coratti's. The food, the service, the atmosphere. It's a nice place to relax and enjoy good food. We also enjoy the Mothers day brunch and Easter Brunch!!! Great variety and delicious food! Outdoor seating in the summer is also a pleasant option!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
