We decided to drive thru and try a "pasty" on our trip to Michigan. Keep in mind we have never tried a pasty. I ordered the empanada pasty and was completely impressed! It was delicious!!!!! We will be going back. It was also really nice to read about the history of the pasty. Who knew?!

We stopped on our way out of town. My daughter and I each got a warm pasty for breakfast (but not breakfast pasties :) and three frozen pasties. Super good all the way around! ...and the young man working the counter was fun to talk to as well!

Very good pasties. Chicken and broccoli was amazing! We also liked the frozen custard. Great service, fast place to stop and get a delicious lunch.

The pasties are really good. They have good ratios of the different ingredients of the filling and a flaky crust. Some that I have tried elsewhere are dry and unappetizing. The people manning the counter seem grumpy though, like they were being bothered taking our order.

Asked locals where to go to get my very first pasty, and every single person told me to go here, and now I see why! I told the friendly gentleman behind the counter that this was my first time having a pasty, and asked for the most popular flavor, which ended up being Beef and Rutabaga. I've never had a rutabaga either, but the entire pasty was DELICIOUS! Got a side of gravy per the locals' recommendations Big, flaky yummy filled pasty with an equal ratio of flavorful meat and veggies. I am someone who normally salts and peppers everything, but didn't need either. Thank goodness I found a place with great food in a town that really doesn't have much of a dining selection for the business traveler. I'm going back tomorrow to get another one -- thinking the chicken and broccoli this time.

We drove up here for an authentic upper peninsula pasty. We weren't disappointed. The place is small. There is a counter and one table for dining. They seem to do more business at the drive up window or carry out. There are several varieties of pasties. I got the original beef and rutabaga. My wife got the breakfast pasty. The were ready immediately as they were pre-made and in a warming oven. Mine was very good, seasoned just right. I think the warming oven caused it to be a little dry. They do have gravy available, but I opted not to have any so I could savor the pasty its self. I had a bite of the breakfast pasty. It reminded me of a breakfast hot pocket. It was also very good. Both crusts were golden brown and crispy. They offer frozen custard also which we did not try. The day's flavor was pistachio. There is a small souvenir stand in the small diner which has an upper Michigan theme. My advice if you go, is order carry out or go through the drive up. If you don't you may wait for the table as there is only one.

Crust is so flaky and light. Inside full of flavor and a full meal as packed with ingredients. The best pasty ever. and so many varieties to choose from. No matter which one you get SO good. Don't forget a get a malt! Be ready to have FULL tummy!

Super. Excellent pasties--light crust, lots of filling, generous size, and available hot or frozen. There are lots of different kinds available every day and the prices are fair. The drive-up window is convenient.
