The fish tacos were great! Service was great!

Just tried L'Attitude for the first time on a trip back home. First, the building and location are amazing. Even on a dreary day, it's nice to be able to look out onto the Lower Harbor. Plus, they have outdoor seating which more places in Marquette should invest in. The menu and food, however, were a little mixed. Menu leans heavy on seafood/fish, which I am not a fan of. Had the Thai Salad. I guess it had a sesame dressing, which is Thai (kind of?) but that's about it. Still, it was a big salad and left me full. I'd like to see a little more variation in the menu for those of us that don't like seafood.

Location is great. Enjoyed outdoor seating with views of the water. Food however is spotty. While I enjoyed the fish tacos, hence 4 stars, my wife failed to find a suitable vegetarian option and was disappointed with the pasta which was very salty and oily.

Open on a Sunday night we ventured here and found it okay. The location, with views of the water, was the best part about this place. We were underwhelmed by the food and the service which were both average to less-than. But it looks like a happening spot so there must be something here that keeps people coming back. Unfortunately, while our food was just fine, given the other great choices in Marquette, I'd look elsewhere first.

Awesome views from the patio & they serve Bell's & Keweenaw on tap, I guess you can't ask for much more than that! Marquette is doing a great job of supplying the UP with attractive businesses that drive tourists to the areas to enjoy new restaurants and experiences. As a seasoned Yooper traveler, it is hard to find new things to see and do and places like this help to keep things fresh and lively.

A nice place to sit outside with a nice view of the lake. Food was above average, but service was terrible. Ordered three appetizers. Two came out after 25 minutes. The third came out after 40 minutes. Drink was empty for a while. It wasn't that busy to justify this.

As a person with Celiac disease, I put a lot of trust in the restaurants I visit. I always make sure to let them know that I cannot have any wheat, and if there is nothing on the menu for me, I usually have drinks and a salad or something. I am never rude, after all, I am the one with the weird disease. When a restaurant assures me that the food they suggest is gluten free, I believe them. My L'attitude server made menu suggestions that he thought to be gluten free, and told me he checked with the kitchen. I got super sick. Turns out (after verifying with the manager) that it all was clearly labeled as wheat-containing food. I know everyone makes mistakes, but I called the manager to let the restaurant )know that the mistake was being made. She was rude, and asked me "Well what do you want me to do about it?" She also told me that the dish I ordered, aside from containing wheat in the sauce, was made from "rice wheat" which is not a real food. This experience leads me to believe that they don't know much about what is in their food (ie: rice wheat) and that they don't really care about the customer.

The bar area may be nice but as far as lunch goes it was just so-so. Portions were small for the price and it was glorified bar fare. Nice atmosphere, clean & new, nice view of the park and Lake Superior.

WOW! Drove from North Dakota to New York City and happen to stop in Marquette Michigan. Lucky enough to try L'Attitude. I LOVED THIS PLACE! My son & I have special diet needs. I'm a vegetarian and had an amazing Medit. plate of hummus, tabouli, veggies, pita, etc. It was perfect (especially driving 600 miles that day and tired of fast food). I posted a photo. (loved it so much had to share on Facebook) The staff was kind enough to prepare food for my special needs son. That doesn't happen everywhere and was very appreciated. The restaurant is stunning and the views just add to the magic. If i'm ever in Marquette again, I will visit L'Attitude for sure! Highly recommend!

Drove our daughter up to Northern Michigan Univ. for their campus tour weekend and WOW! We were in love with this place, the ambience, the food, the service and the FRESH White fish. The best White fish I have ever had in my life. It taste like a nice piece of grilled steak. Their deeped fried asparagus was nom nom nom. The perfect view of beautiful lake Superior in downtown Marquette. Absolutely wonderful : ) A MUST stop in for sure. AND MUST TRY THEIR RASPBERRY MOJITO!

We stopped here for a drink while on vacation. Overlooks the harbor and the park. Decent local beer selection. Really nice place to sit outside and drink a beer. We didn't order any food but it looked good. Servers were very pleasant and prompt.

Been here twice: once on the patio and once inside. The food was good both times and the service was excellent. Had our rehearsal dinner this past September and the whole experience was a delight. We spoke with the events manager, who gave us a menu to work with and was upfront about the costs. The service during the dinner was spot on and the servers were always within reach. The atmosphere is great right along the lake by the marina.

New management, new menu, delicious food.

I love L'attitude for bringing civility to Marquette nightlife. You see, I have this aversion to sports bars... and there's really no way to avoid sports bars in Michigan. What I like is a place to get a cocktail and not be blasted with smoke and people wearing their worst sweatpants out of the house. Previously, I thought the Landmark was the only place you could go for a chill night out and be able to wear something decent. The view is amazing, for being a lakeside town, there really aren't enough businesses that can capitalize on the view. The outdoor seating is a great place to sit and people watch on a sunny day. Really, this is on my top picks for a hometown night out.
(5)L T.
Great spot to enjoy the view and good food & drink! We really enjoyed the Beer-Cheese Lava Dip and the Falafel Waffle. And my husband liked the Pulled Pork Sandwich with MI Cherry BBQ Sauce. I had the Farmer's Market Martini with cucumber and basil and a Marquette Mule that added some black currant liqueur (Kir). We sat on the patio on a sunny day and noticed they had spots for leashed dogs to sit with full bowls of water by the restaurant which was a nice option for folks traveling with dogs. Great service (sometimes you can feel forgotten when you sit outside) but our waiter was great & attentive!
(4)Dan G.
Location is excellent. Food is good. Nice wine list. Service, not so much. Unfortunately that puts this place on the list of great view/average restaurant in my book.
(2)Dawn W.
Great location and atmosphere. The bar tenders could use a course in customer service.
(3)C H.
Amazing dinner- beautiful location, great service- best Lake Superior broiled whitefish I have had! And don't miss dessert...... Very affordable- definitely will return!
(5)Tara G.
I brought some out-of-towners here for dinner. Our table ordered Whitefish Tacos (x2), Whitefish Platter, Signature Salad, Ham/Apple/Cheese Panini and Roast Beef and Fig Sandwich - everybody was overwhelmingly happy with their food. Good beer selection, too. Service was prompt and friendly. They have a great view and a nice atmosphere. Overall great experience!
(5)Nelli T.
Recently changed owners, new menu is great! Same tapas/ small plates feel but the menu is more cohesive and the dishes were better for it. I had the falafel waffle which was fun and my husband loved his burger. Service was also improved, and speed, likely because of the more refined menu. Overall pleased and impressed. Can't beat the lake views and the interior is beautiful.
(5)Martha P.
First time back since they " retooled"- service was great, apps yummy with different sauces, I had Whitefish Tacos that were great. The beer list was good, and cocktails were great. I had a "pocket park tonic", made with lavender syrup and it was very good. Refreshing, not to sweet, different". Hope they can keep it up!! It was a great night!
(4)Barbara H.
Change in management = real disappointment! Much smaller menu, out of some draft beers on the busiest week of the summer. Alway dependable fish tacos were not so good and the guacamole to too hot to eat. Really, change isn't always a good thing!
(2)Andrew H.
Totally underwhelming. Food was blah. Service was blah. Felt ill after the fish tacos hit bottom. Hopefully a better restaurant takes this prime location and does something with it.
(2)Adam G.
We eat here once a year after the ore 2 shore bike race while in town, it was our goto place. I would have given it 5 stars in years past. But unfortunately the menu has changed for the worse and the prices and high for what you get. I was hoping the previous reviews were wrong but they were not. Don't go here till they get their act together. Hope they get it together in the next year. We would love to come back for the spectacular view of Lake Superior.
(1)Kathy W.
stopped in for dinner travelling for work. My travel partner and i split the meet and cheese boards - plus ladies night for $5 wine. Great little place by the lake.
(3)Jo L.
Great place to sit outside on a summer evening. There wasn't much going on in Marquette on a Friday night, but there was a happy crowd enjoying the patio here, and that drew us in. We were able to get a table for two immediately. Indoors looked nice too. Nice selection of wines by the glass. "Small plates" were big! We shared the "Three Ways to Heaven" (hummus, tapanade, and tabbouleh with pita triangles and celery and carrot sticks) and the spicy edamame. We couldn't finish the "three ways" in one sitting, and the hummus, in particular, was some of the best I've had. The service was friendly and efficient. I recommend it!

I'm an italian beef fan thanks to my wife from Chicago. What this place does to an italian beef is a shame. But this place has a different take. You get Italian Beef stuffed into an oversized roll with cheese and a lightly spiced mayo, with a side of au jus, that when you dip your bun into it, it comes out looking like the bottom of a swamp. I ordered what i thought was fresh kettle chips, but turned out to be the kettle chips you can buy at the grocery store down the road. The other members of my party seemed to enjoy their food, but i was GREATLY disappointed in the italian beef. It's considered a classic, and with all classics it should not be changed. Either take it off your menu, or keep it classic and give me my giardiniera. The service was slow to take our order, and didn't have much to say. We will most likely not return.

I love this place. Absolutely my favorite restaurant in town. Sit inside or outside, you won't be disappointed. Its right by the water and bike path so lots of people watching outside. Their food is different from most food in Marquette, in a good way. Most dishes are lighter fare but they do have some heavier dishes. My favorites are the whitefish tacos and the three ways to heaven plate. Good beer selection. I love the big booths they have too. Very cool for casually having a few beers with friends.
(5)Pam M.
Great food. Creative options that at least felt healthy. Loved the honey on the cheese plate & the whitefish tacos were well-seasoned & not at all fishy tasting. Hubbys bowl/salad wasn't tossed well but was huge. Fruit sides for kids entree choices.
(5)Juliana T.
3 1/2 stars. Passing through town on our way to Munising we couldn't find very many spots that were still open in the late dinner hour. But this seemed like a decent spot next to the lake. The decor was a bit odd as I couldn't figure out if the couch style tables or the contemporary decor was intended for fancy or casual. We chose a couch and ordered a cheese platter, fish dinner plate, and fish tacos. The cheese platter was pricey for what we got (two crackers for all that cheese... really?). The fresh honey comb was a nice, unique touch and tasty with the cheeses. I enjoyed my fish dinner and my friend really liked her fish tacos. Overall we were very pleased but a bit thrown off on the ambiance.

Stuffy and elitist! Worst dining experience we have ever had, legitimately. People looked us up and down and judged us when we walked in. After we sat down someone actually lobbed a piece of lettuce at us. Couldn't believe it. The waitress smugly picked it up and chuckled. We got up and left before we even ordered. No one even tried to stop us. Practically ruined our day after driving over an hour to get there. We spoke to 2 managers and didn't get very far. Very confused and dumbfounded by the whole experience.

This establishment has come a long way in both service and food quality, offering a wide variety of dishes from around the world. The sandwiches make for a well-portioned lunch or dinner, and their entrees are generally well deserving of the few extra dollars spent. As an appetizer, on our last visit we tried a thinly sliced beef roll, stuffed with green onions, and were delighted by the accompaniment of a seaweed salad garnish; a very sophisticated flavor, with perfect texture balance, as well. The wine list is well thought out, and has excellent vintages for various price ranges. Especially nice is the inclusion of several Malbec wines from Mendoza, Argentina. They also have the best mojito in town. The food and drinks, coupled with the view of the harbor, is unparalleled in town. Highly recommend.

Nice spot for cocktails and small bites. Hopefully Angela waits on you. She's a good one!

We loved this place as well! The smoked duck gumbo was as good as any gumbo I have personally had in the south. Not much smoky flavor in the duck but the seasonings seemed just right to me. A large bowl was $9 and worth every penny. Wife had the whitefish tacos. Nothing Mexican at all about them, but they were good! The whitefish was seasoned with cajun spices and kind of blackened. The tortillas were flour, which never would occur in Mexico, but quite good. The salsa was very tasty and the chips were better than average. The presentation was beautiful, as were all the dishes we observed. The tacos were a little steep at $11 but no regrets. Pints of Arcadian beer were $3.50. Glasses of wine appeared to be much more generous than is typical. The ambience is terrific with unusual industrial/bistro decor, a choice of different seating arrangements, and fairly quiet. Too bad about the ad nauseum football games playing on the TVs. This place deserves more. The servers all were very friendly to us and attentive. The menu included many very interesting and unusual items we would love to try. There was a conch appetizer, seared Ahi tostada, smoked meat sandwiches, and a Wisconsin Artisan cheese plate to mention a few. Yet another winner in Marquette!

I visit Marquette at least twice a year and I cannot help but go to latitude at least once...every day! Best drinks, best service and the new lay out is fabulous! If you miss going to latitude, your missing part Marquette!

After taking a relaxing sunset sail on Coaster II ( superiorodyssey.com ), we weren't quite ready to call it a night. We shared the cruise with some locals who explained the downtown revitalization, and how far it's come since a bunch of abandonded warehouses. That piqued our interest, so we decided to roll right off the boat into L'Attitudes. We hesitated for just a moment wondering if we were dressed appropriately - windblown and flipflops. We were pleasantly surprised to see we fit right in with the eclectic mix of tourists and locals. The exposed brick added to the charm of this chic hangout. They have a wine room that looks like it would be a great place for a private party. The energy, service, outdoor seating...it was just what we were looking for to complete a lovely evening. Nice atmosphere.

We loved the rasberry mojitos and the finger food. The food is step above most places and I wouldn't hesitate to return there. To bad it is about 1800 miles fron home.
(5)Cliff W.
We popped in here for a quick drink and meal during the Marquette Rail Jam. Food and atmosphere were fine. Food was a little pricey for sandwiches. Wait staff could have been more attentive. Pretty unique menu. We'll probably try it again in the summer.
(3)Marion T.
The menu has a fusion vibe, with pho.... Hubby seemed liking his pork sandwich, and we both liked the fries. The french onion soup was not bad in general, but with partially burnt cheese and bread (really?....). My complaint was mainly about the whitefish. It had an odor which you often smell when the fish is not fresh. Or, I should say that white fish fillet was probably not stored properly before cooked. Moreover, part of the fish was not cooked thoroughly. I did not bother to ask the kitchen to prepare another fish since I suspected they did not properly store their fish. I was very disappointed.

The best place in Marquette to sit outside and have a glass of wine or pre-dinner cocktail. The staff is young (college town) but adaquate. Food is nothing special. Have a drink, enjoy the views and move along.
(3)Wendy H.
Nice location with a great atmosphere ... needs more people to fall in love with this neat old building remodel ... I liked the layout the very high ceilings, brick walls and HUGE Window views ... I LOVE MARQUETTE. Our food was very good, we all had something totally different and we liked our meals. I recommend this to anyone local and or new to the area. I attended NMU 25 years ago, and our daughter is there now ... this is a great place to take out the college kids and their friends ... Downtown is great!
(4)Kristin H.
Cute little place by the bay. Food is hit or miss. They have added more vegetarian options in the past couple years, which is nice.

I was in here with my family from Chicago last week visiting my cousin who lives in town... actually, within walking distance. Upon entering, the six of us were generally impressed by the interior. We were seated at a booth which ended up being a little cramped for 6, but the view of the lake and hillside houses was amazing. Anyway, as for the menu, there were chips/salsa, some chicken, and some others for appetizers; burgers (half-pound) with "crack fries" (according to the menu, lol), hummus, and a full bar. They had a $2 domestic happy hour which I didn't partake in, but I was tempted. There is also a full bar. I had the tortilla chips & guacamole. The chips were big, and came a-plenty, but they seemed overcooked. big fat bubbles in a lot of them and they seemed dark, but they weren't your basic Tostito's either, so maybe it was the recipe. The guac was VERY chunky - not in the way of tomatoes, but rather the avocado not being very scoopable and still in large pieces. It wasn't bad. The burger was huge - for $8 I had just assumed it would be a 1/4-to-1/3-pound burger with fries, so I had definitely glazed over the 1/2-pound description. Coupled with the chips, it was more than enough for leftovers. Service was quick, and our waitress was friendly, and she even tried to get the recipe for one of the soups for us (but was unable to). If and when we (or just me) come back, I can see another trip here.

This place is unfairly inconsistent. It has so much potential and some of the best wines in town. It's got the best location you could ask for and an amazing interior. However, despite the fact that they have some incredibly impressive coffee machinery, they have no one who knows how to use it. So the coffee is useless. And they have some really good dishes, but the menu has changed so many times since they've opened I don't know what the point it. If you do get the same menu, good luck if you get the same dish. Drinks are always good and can't complain about them, but I'd like to see the same bar tender twice in a row. Never a good sign if they can't keep their staff. Also, what the hell was up with the ping pong table in the back room with a group of noisy drunk 50+ watching boxing? And why aren't they always open at the hours they have posted? Good luck L'Attitude. Hope you get your shit together, because then we could really be friends.
(2)Meghan P.
Mostly good! I'd come back. The whitefish dinner is awesome- at least the whitefish part. (I had fried, by the way, but my coworker thought her broiled was amazing). It came with mashed potatoes which were merely fine (not bad, not good), and asparagus which was also ok. I also had a grapefruit mojito which I felt was awfully bitter. I don't know if that was made poorly, or if I just didn't care for it. Our server was hiiiiiiiiigh as could be. She was nice, though, and generally pretty competent, but couldn't describe what beer was like to my coworker. It was so nice to sit on the patio.

My husband and I were in town to celebrate our anniversary. This restaurant was recommended to us. We walked in... Saw a sign that noted "please wait to be seated". We waited about 5 minutes in the foyer. Not only did no one approach us... We were also passed by... By at least 3 staff. We finally approached the bar... Hoping to be noticed as human beings. Again nothing. No eye contact with staff. 10 minutes had gone by so far... And we finally were seated. We then proceeded to wait at the table for another 15 min. Our waitress may have been busy... However not ONE other manager or staff offered to help. No tables being flagged. No greeting by staff. It was a good 30 to 40 minutes before we got our drinks. We left as soon as possible. Didn't want to waste our evening or MONEY in a place like this. If you show you are working hard and CARE about what you do .... You will be rewarded. If you don't ... You won't. Shame on you latitude management for not training your staff well or backing them up when they need help. We celebrated our anniversary elsewhere. We will NOT be back.
(1)Brooke G.
I was very excited to try this place after months of passing by and never stopping in. We called last night to see if there was a wait for tables, they were nice enough to put our name on the wait list without us being there. Things were looking up. As we walked in the front door we were impressed with the interior, it's a very nice looking place. We thought we got lucky when they took us out to the patio seating. We were wrong. I've never seen so many flies in my life, flies on our legs, flies on our arms, and the best, flies on our food, our table even came with a fly swatter. I realize they have no control over the flies being there, it's not their fault but given the severity of the problem a little warning may have been nice. We would have gladly waited for an inside table to avoid this, every table was constantly swatting. What was almost as bad as the flies? Our waitress. We were told there was one special for dinner and 1 drink special. Later after we had our food I heard her offer other dinner specials to another table. When we sat inside at the bar to finish our wine flight (because of the flies) I noticed there were FIVE drink specials, not one, my sister and I would have loved a glass of sangria but weren't told it was an option. No plates with our appetizer, ever. We had to ask for silverware and for napkins. She was impossible to find when you needed her. The food: Bruschetta appetizer was phenomenal. Alfredo pasta with shrimp which was a special was not special, it was very bland and the serving was small for the price. My husband had the whitefish tacos, they were good, slightly on the bland side. I had the sweet potato blue cheese soup, guess what it was? Bland. My cob salad was pretty good. We're from Chicago, we aren't "foodies" by any means but I am shocked by the amount of people who review this restaurant on other sites saying it could hold it's own in a big city. You need good customer service and quality products to survive anywhere, especially in a big city. Don't let this prime location and nice wine selection fool you. People of Marquette, you deserve better than L'Attituide.
