The bread isn't even vegan here.

I have no complaints about this place. Their service is very fast just like they promise, and accurate just like I would expect. Really, that is really all I'm looking for when I go here. Fast, accurate service, and that's what they deliver, every time. The nice thing about a JJ's in a college town is that they're open so late! My favorite part about this place is walking past on a chilly evening and seeing the windows all fogged up from the fresh baking bread.

Obviously Jimmy Johns is a chain and its constantly rated as one of the best sub joints in the US for price vs. qty and I kind of agree. I would go with a Togo or Pasta Shop sub before JJ but that's only because I'm originally from Marquette and those places are missed. But I still eat JJ's down in Cleveland every once in a while because I know what I am getting, good, reasonably cheap, but really tasty subs. No bad things to say.

If you want a faster sandwich, make it yourself! I love the sandwiches here, and the chips are simply divine. The excessive smartass signs all over the walls make me feel at home, but thats because my family is full of smartasses I guess.

I first I heard of Jimmy John's was a radio commercial somewhere in Florida, and being in radio for over 25 years I have to say it was the best radio commercial I've heard in a good decade or more. Then I get to the Upper Peninsula and find my oldest daughter knows all about them from her time at NMU in Marquette. We ended up in Marquette 4 days later, she popped in to get heself a sub and was out in less than 5 minutes...I ate before the trip from Houghton to Marquette, but I knew right then I had to stop back for one myself before we left. I stopped back 3 hours later and ordered a "Vito" which was the closest to the BMT's I used to get alot at Subways...no changes, no additions, just the way it comes for the best comparison. There were 6-7 other people in the shop, and I got a sub faster than being the only customer in any Subway I've ever been in... And it was good. Damn good. Fresh CRUSTY bread, fresh tasting everything, and they make 8" subs. Perfect size for a normal hunger, if you want more, get the "Club" version of any sandwich that has double the meat of a regular sub. I still like some of Subway's offerings like the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki, but if they only had CRUSTY bread like at Jimmy John's, the last 3 bites wouldn't be a slimy mess. Sorry, I don't think I could make a sandwich as fast as they do at home unless someone else sets out all the ingredients first, and it would only be loaf bread. The only way to get a sandwich faster is to buy a crappy pre-made sub at a grocery store. And everyone that knows them tells me the delivery is really Freaky Fast just like they claim. 1 Sandwich and I'm a convert, a believer...Hail Jimmy John's!! I'm moving back to Houghton, MI at the end of October, and there is supposed to be a Jimmy John's opening there soon right across the street from the downtown Subway location...Hallelujah!! You Subway guys are in for some stiff competion.

Feb. 01, 3:07a.m. besides this receipt time stamp I found in my wallet, I barely remember going there, but the fact that Marquette has a place open this late. I give it 4 stars...the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because I don't remember eating anything...my receipt says $15.68. For three of us...so I guess it is pretty inexpensive...I vaguely remember a sandwich.

JJs is probably my favorite sandwich store chain. It starts with great, store-baked bread then they top it off with good quality meat and cheeses, not the cheap processed kind. The #5 (Vito) is my favorite. Get it with their yummy hot peppers for a good kick. Another great thing about JJs is you don't have to put up with any whiny-ass vegans here. It's strictly a carnivores' paradise.
