Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

The prices were fair, the drinks well mixed and the food good. A few friend and myself split the mushrooms, fried pickles and a pizza. All three were good - if you like thin crust pizza then you would really like the pizza at Sportsmans, the crust was super thin and delicious. Do watch out though - there is a very creepy leprechaun mannequin sitting in a window above the dining area, don't look up.

I like sportsman's. They have good burgers especially... people tend to like the pizza's too. The food and atmosphere is pretty good. As far as the food goes, it isn't the kind of place you die to go to, or has the best food you've ever had but its good for what it is. They have pool and typical bar stuff. It's a nice hangout place for dinner.

Amazing pizza! Need it every time I'm in town. Love that you can take it into the Mitten next door too. Family favorite!

Had the fajita chicken salad. Loved it. All the flavors are great together. The peppers and onions were lightly sauteed and the chipolte ranch and avocado were great together. Highl9 recommend

Food was okay, nothing too exciting or fresh. Average food for a small town. The service was not great. We were told by the hostess that there was a 30 minute wait which we expected. So we went for a walk and came back 20 minutes later. We came in to see the people behind us had been seated and had drinks. Apparently the hostess over estimated the timing. The table was not clean when we got to it and after it was 'cleaned' there was still debris from the previous diners. We were without drinks often and had a hard time getting refills. The server also never asked us how our food was after she dropped it off. We saw her when she was ready to drop off the check though.

Good food and good prices! It's a very popular spot in town and can be busy at times. Worth the wait if there is one. Servers are generally good, although it does get busy and they may get behind. This is typical around Ludington, especially in the summer. Polite and friendly staff. They have excellent pizza - one of the best pizza places in town!! Their burgers are wonderful too! They have a variety of appetizers that are standard bar food but are really good.... Recommend the deep fried pickle chips and mini tacos! Casual establishment; fun atmosphere. Although it is a bar/restaurant it is family friendly! It is also attached to two other bars and you are able to walk back and forth without difficulty which is a nice touch! Family owned and operated - owners are around a lot!

This place was only ok. Our server made a few mistakes with our order and got very frustrated as a result. She was having a bad night. The food was ok not great. Atmosphere was good.

We have never been to ludington and searched the yelp reviews to pick a place. Decided on the Sportsman which was a nice surprise. The decor is eclectic and has black tin ceilings and a wonderful bar which us comfortable to eat at. Large array of tap beer. Sunday is 50 cent wings and you can order as many or as little and any array of flavors. The bartender was very very good and pleasant and helpful. Would come back. Prime rib French dip special was fantastic. Nice and rare slices of meat and cheese and au jus. Fun decor and clean

Usually get great service! The Rueben pizza is amazing and rueben sandwich is pretty good! Their fried pickles are pretty great too! Their kids chicken tenders have good flavor too! Cute/fun Irish atmosphere.

Never ate here before but service to get greeted is slow but food is amazing. Food prices and quantity is ridiculous. Ive had pizza, the fajita salad and the mushroom brisket sandwich. I love texas bbq and this sandwich was better than anything Ive had in Michigan and I travel the entire state for work.

Very good customer service. Very good food. The rueben sandwich and rueben pizza are very good. Guess you can tell that I think this place is top of the line!

As a previous reviewer stated, solid chow. I had a steak and mini potatoes. Good flavor, and more than enough! Unfortunately the bar was full, so as a solo diner I couldn't belly up and watch the Tigers game at the bar while enjoyed dinner. I was here "pre-tourist" season, so it was obvious amongst the locals that I was a visitor which must mean I was also a leper. Oh well! I enjoyed my steak and easily slid next door to The Mitten Bar for a Michigan distilled spirit.

As locals we are regulars at this place. It is one of the only good places in town that has good food and service. The service isn't always the best, depending on who you get as your server. The best thin crust pizza in town! Great atmosphere and decently priced! Only bad thing is that there is usually a line at the door and you can never git in on any holiday.

Large menu, but I like the fish specials. Last night I had 2 large fried pieces of pollock with a baby baker side and choice of soup or salad for $9. It's every bit as good as anywhere else for half the price. The baby baked potatoes are super good and I've never seen them anywhere. People like the pizza but I think it's below average.

I tried to ask the hostess to be seated, but she was too busy discussing the latest drama with a server. So I went and sat at the bar. The bartender was awesome. I ordered a delicious basket of fried pickles. YUM. They did take about 25 minutes to get there though. While waiting, a few more servers had an argument in front of me suggesting each other to do some inappropriate activities to gentlemen. All I wanted to do was watch the Big Ten Network (Go Boilers!) and I figured a bar with the word 'sport' in the name would have it. They did not. I spoke with 2 other couples next to me who had the same assumptions. Luckily, they asked the bartender before ordering food. Smart.

We went here because we were told by locals that the pizza was great. No - absolutely not. One of the worst pizzas I've ever had. 1. The cheese was not fresh - probably pre shredded when bought or it was frozen or it was old. I've made pizza and I know how bad cheese looks on a cooked pizza without even tasting it. Of course the taste was just as bad - not stringing which may even mean they flour it. 2. Sausage was crumbled and spread out on the entire pizza - they should have explained that it's not the typical sausage. It also had very little taste to it. Again not fresh. 3. Bacon - it was cooked under the cheese which means it was not fully cooked and had the texture of raw-fatty meat. I've only had one pizza worse then this in my life and that was in Bicknel, Indiana - look that up on a map and you'll understand why. You would be better off with Little Caesars or Dominos.

I've had lots of great memories growing up in this pub but my last memory is the one that stick. We called in reservations for 12 when we should up we were told that we never did... Funny that we have call history of calling you but ok we'll wait FOREVER... Until after 45 mins the waitress comes up to get the one chair we had to wait in and makes the pregnant mom move! I was outta there that moment and will NEVER be back. Too many great places to eat in Ludington to get treated like that!

Good pizza, good service, right price. What's not to like? Solid local joint in Ludington. Glad I stopped while passing through.

I was at Sportsman's on July 27th for lunch and I will not return. The server (Jennifer) apparently decided after I left her a $9 tip, that she deserved a $10.00 tip and entered it as such. When I was looking through my receipts and checking them against my card statement, I noticed the discrepancy. It's only $1.00, but it's upsetting to think that someone would just help themselves to more of my money. By the way, the total bill was 57.93, so a $9 tip is more than the standard 15%. I usually tip 20%, but the service we received from Jennifer was lacking in the amount of attention we received when drinks were low, etc.

Great food specials and good service in Ludington. I frequent this place for consistently satisfying meals. There is a reason the place is full of local diners and drinkers. Try the pizza here!

Great Irish bar in downtown Ludington. I went here with my wife and 3 kids and had a great time, and the food was great. I had the Irish Patty Melt, and it had good flavor. My wife and one son had the pizza, and loved every bite. We also had a BLT with 13 strips of bacon, and other assorted foods. This is a great bar/restaurant that I would like to visit again.

More than typical bar fare, but prime rib special was underwhelming. The small baked/roasted potatoes were excellent. People were nice and service was average.
