My family and I make a point of stopping here on the way up north almost every time we come up because the food is AMAZING and we've been coming here for years. Don't listen to the bs negative reviews. They're all by people from places like Chicago, so they most likely think they're too good for a place like this. Yes, it's more of a hole in the wall kind of place, but in a very good way. People who'd give this place a negative review have obviously never had the home made stuff on the dinner buffets and the soup from the soup and salad bar. Both my family and I have actually bought soup in the large cottage cheese containers to bring home. I love it there and have never had a bad experience. I will be in soon on my way up north!

We stayed at the campground across the street and needed a good breakfast before we headed out on our trip back home to Florida. Since this restaurant was right across the street we decided to try the breakfast buffet. What a mistake. The food tasted like it every bit of it came out of boxes or out of the freezer, nothing tasted homemade, it tasted terrible. The scrambled eggs were rubbery, the little potatoes were very obviously from a frozen food bag. It cost $20 for the two of us and we figured it would've been better to just take a $20 bill, set it on fire and throw it to the wind. We would've had a better breakfast for less money if we had just gone to McDonald's across the street. We do not recommend this restaurant at all, stay away. On the flip side, the servers and the personnel who worked there were extremely friendly, happy and smiling.... In fact, almost syrupy-sweet.... probably because they know the food is not good and they are trying to make up for it. Plus I'm sure they know that they're not going to get tipped because the food is GOOD, the only way they're going to make tips is by being extra sweet. Seriously if you want a good meal go somewhere other than this restaurant . I gave it one star for the servers . The food gets negative10 stars, sorry.

My family vacations in Ludington every year and find ourselves back here at least once per trip. As Andrew states below, the service is excellent. At the same time I agree the food is not the top of culinary art form, it is still very good and always fresh. It is a family farm style restaurant that provides large portions and a good variety. If you are looking for a fancy french style experience this is not your kind of place. If you want a good homestyle meal it certainly is. Andrew...you should have payed attention to the sign out front that clear states this fact. Recommended for folks that are truly hungry and looking for a good meal at a good value.

This place has been around for a long time. The soup & salad bar is great. Menu is basic diner style food, but good. It's my favorite home style, breakfast and lunch place in town.

Oh my god!!! Okay firstly the service was fantastic in every way!!! But... This place is slammed with locals who leave happy and full. For the life of me I cannot explain this in any other way then to think that Ludington really doesn't and probably never had any decent cuisine anywhere - see me comments on Sportsmans Club. The food... It was not bland but bad. I ordered pasta and chicken and my chicken was not cooked and the sauce on the pasta was just about the worst I've ever tasted in my life. My wife got the fried chicken and clearly it was cooked the day before and pulled from the fridge and microwaved. My cousin (he's a chef) and his wife went for the buffet. According to them everything they tried had a bad flavor and strange texture. My cousin even went as far as saying that the buffet trays looked dirty and that he would never eat there again. Frankly I was shocked I didn't come down with campylobacter during the next few days from my meal. I'm thinking if I opened a real place to eat up here I would be richer than ****! I just noticed that the local McDonals and Taco Bell have some of the highest ratings in town - if that does not say it all I'm not sure what else could.

They put us in the naughty corner, therefore I wrecked the breakfast buffet. Thoroughly recommended.

Good solid home cooked style entrees. The service is good but can get overwelmed during lunch.

Busy place on a Saturday morning, local and tourist alike. Friendly staff that count out the change when paying. An inexpensive breakfast buffet worth eating from. The breakfast buffet is pretty typical: scrambled eggs with/without cheese, bacon, sausage links, ham, potatoes, etc. Oh yeah ... the potatoes. These aren't your typical hash browns or home fries, but are potatoes mixed with beef, maybe from last night's pot roast. It was actually quite good. I wish the buffet had white or wheat bread and not just biscuits for the gravy.

We stopped by for lunch and I got the AYCE soup and salad bar. The salad bar is nothing fancy, just your iceberg lettuce and the usual toppings. I really enjoyed the soups, though. They had three different kinds and tasted very homemade, very chunky with vegetables. My fiance got one of the daily specials, a bison burger and it looked soooo good! Very thick patty with a nice sear on it. He said they did a pretty good job with it, not dry at all like most bison burgers are. Our waitress was so sweet, she kept on checking on us to see that we were doing alright. What nice service! Thank goodness we came here instead of just going to a drive-thru restaurant. What was nice to see was that it seemed like everyone knew each other in the restaurant, whether coming or going. A nice slice of Americana to see!

Straight from the GFS truck to your plate. Go to Old Hamlin instead.

(Hillbilly slang intentional)...We kame up to Kuntry Kubbard bekause we stayed at my friends kabin for the 4th of Ju-lye and we was pretty darned hungry and needed to get our grub on. That there waitress told us that the buffet was mighty tasty so we mosied on up there and filled our plates with biscuits and gravy, hotcakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and hash browns. That breakfast was mighty tasty, it wasn't the best I've had, but we was up in the sticks so it had to do!
